Stopped in here for the first time tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised. Our waitress Heather was very good. She told us it was still happy hour and explained what the specials were. She recommended the Shrimp Cargot and we decided on the Crab Dip. Both were excellent. The beer bucket were ice cold. We ordered the Twin Burgers with cheddar cheese medium rare and they were excellent as well. The burgers came with fries in these cute little baskets. They have live music too. We will definitely be back and I hope Heather is our waitress again. read more

Everytime i come here I have a blast with my girlfriends. The beers arent overpriced, at least in my opinion and the shots are served well. Also enjoy the music as they play songs from the 2000's. read more

I don't understand their concept of customer service or questions. Today, barmaid with Tucker Ravens shirt was given a Keno ticket with minimum $2.00 winner on it (I missed 3-4 of the games). She said no winning #s. I questioned her and all she had to do was show me (which I didn't request) the cashouts. My wife had a FAIR ceasear salad with shrimp. If the barmaid wanted to follow up on my questioning of the winning, I was sitting at a table for the next 6-7 minutes. The only consistancy I've seen here is fair food and quality at the bar. The only positive point in the wait staff to the tables. No change on my 7-10 visits there since they opened. I've gone because my wife liked it there. Rating solid 2. read more

Twain's Tavern looks nothing like the old place. It's laid out totally different! It has a different concept. They have awesome food & it is way classier. The bands that played this weekend played perfect dance music! We had so much fun! The place is laid out really cool. It feels very warm & welcoming when u go in. The greeter was was so helpful. She even came by after we had a waitress just to ask how everything was & if we needed anything. Wow! I enjoyed the wine & my friend drank some fancy martini that was on their list. Great remodel. Beautiful decor. Comfortable and stylish without being pretenious. The outdoor patio looks fantastic(it was too hot for us to sit out there yesterday). The Staff is friendly. Great mix of locals and visitors. You can not beat a draft beer for $2.00 during Saturday's happy hour. Bathrooms so clean and I love that the music can be heard in them as well. The menu has some of the typical bar food but brings local flair by adding crab dishes. We had the crab dip which was very good with nice chucks of crab. We will be back. read more

This place had terrible service. When I went to close my tab they had my card just to hold my name but I paid with cash. Ended up charging my card that I DID NOT pay with but used to keep my name $50. When I called they said that happens to everyone as a precaution but everyone else I was with did not get hit with the charge. This is not ok to be doing especially when not notified. I will not be going back and I suggest paying only with cash! read more

Wine nights are the best night! Can't beat 10 cents for a glass of wine. I tried 50 cent mimosas today and was disappointed. The mimosas were great! I was expecting a brunch menu but they don't have any. The nachos were a 2/10, poorly made and gross looking...was supposed to come with Pico de Gallo, there was none.The wings, burgers and cream of crab soup are AMAZING. The fried cheesecake was yummy! If you're looking for a chill spot with great drink specials then stop by!! I will only be coming back for drink specials and not the food. We love this place since discovering it last November 2018. Wednesdays are prime rib $10.99 and 10 cent wine night. TWICE now we have tried to go there (EARLY) and have been turned away due to reserved tables. This time we arrived early so that we could obtain a table as we did not plan to stay all night (my husband is handicapped). Happy hour is from 5-7 p.m. and at 4:30 p.m. we arrived and asked for a table for 2... (minimal patrons in the bar both times) the hostess told us that she could NOT seat us as EVERY table was reserved but "if we wanted to sit in the pool table area we could as long as we were gone by 7:00 p.m." Nice... We left, went to Two Rivers Steak and Seafood in Pasadena... spent our $100+ and had a good time elsewhere, obviously. As a former owner of a restaurant and bar I would think that Twain's would want ALL patrons to visit their establishment and spend money. I'm surprised at this situation and would not hold tables for people who are not there, while turning away paying customers. Seriously, what nonsense is this? Are you in the business to make money? I can state that (for a fact) ...the FIRST time this happened we sat in the bar and watched while the tables sat empty until AFTER 7:00 and really didn't want to do that AGAIN this time. Do you not want ALL people to visit your establishment, Twains's? My rating is based on experience, not food or atmosphere as I will still go here... just NOT on Wednesdays. read more

This is a regular hang out with great food and drink. The service is excellent and the food delicious. I've never had a bad meal. There are plenty of booths and a pool table area with booths. Plenty of beers to choose from which, as a beer drinker, is essential. Happy hour runs daily 4-7 with food specials as well. read more

We had a Family Gathering & had reserved tables outside it was at least 4-6 Tables. TIM was the waiter for all the tables. He did such an Amazing Job. He made sure there tables always had water & tea. All the food we ordered was fabulous & have told family & Friends they need to go here. Thank you for the great food & service. read more

They gave my card to someone else and then when I went to close out my tab they told me, whoops it happens. Bamboo bernies, redone. Went there on a Friday night (2nd night open) with a few friends. We took a cab ride there. We head on in and one of my buddies is wearing some bright colored board shorts as we were out on the boat all day. Bouncer proceeded to say he was not allowed in. We were shocked and asked how we were supposed to know that considering it was the 2nd night open. We also said we just paid for a cab ride there, didnt matter. The bouncer plus the manager said he couldnt come in. They also told us that the dress code is on the internet site, a total lie as nothing about that is on the site. We had to wait 30 minutes for someone else to bring a change of clothes (he was also wearing a camo shirt that they said he couldnt wear). We ended up going in, there was a decent crowd, however, Im assuming it was for the first night. There prices were very high as well. read more

I have been here many times and many times I have told people about the place and suggested they try it. We came today for a late lunch early dinner. One word "dreadful" Our waitress had a serious attitude from the beginning she rolled her eyes at my 8 yr old twice while she ordered Her salad. My wife and I were given children's cups of iced tea. Looked around to be sure they were not short on glasses sure enough we are the only two there with child size glasses. Not to be petty about a small cup but I'd like to atleast see the waitress come back and give us a refill. The waitress serving the tables around us was back many times to her tables and was kind enough to go get our waitress (Lauren) for us. I asked for two adult size glasses or if she would be so kind as to give us each two small ones. Finally our food came and low and behold none of our appetizers came. She said she'd se about having them taken off the bill. Huh? At the very end at tip time she became a little nicer and and smiled. Hate to complain and I rarely do. But the attitude and absolute lack of care and attention has made us decide to visit the other establishments for at least a while. read more

I went to Twain's Tavern yesterday for the first time. It was a good, enjoyable experience. It was the day before St. Patrick's Day; most of the bartenders were wearing green or something festive. I was pleasantly surprised it was Happy Hour even though it was Saturday. They had a list of specials they offer every week depending on the day; including $.50 mimosas on Sunday, Trivia night is Wednesday, Bingo every Thursday, and while we were there they had a paint class going on. The atmosphere and energy was all around great!! I was given some free stuff, including a 2019 st patty's day koozie, green beaded Jamerson necklace, and a green bandanna from Miller Lite. I was also given free beer by a Bud Light rep, who in return, only asked for a picture of me holding their beer so I thought that was pretty cool. And I love all the Mark Twain sayings throughout the bar on the walls. I plan on going back this Thursday for Bingo night and definitely looking forward to it! read more

We come here almost every wed night because they have good deals on wine and burgers. The bartenders and waitresses are great and normally give you great service. The outdoor patio is awesome with fire place, couches and even games. So why am I giving it such a crappy review? I ordered a burger and when I bit into it, there was a huge piece of plastic. The plastic split into pieces in my mouth and I had to decipher between plastic and burger, hoping I'd swallow the right material. Accidents happen, I understand! So I let the manager know so maybe this doesn't happen again. He came over and told me that it was a Medium rare stick to let them know my burger is different and it comes in every burger. I looked over at my two friends who had also ordered burgers to confirm his statement and neither of them had plastic sticks. That's cool it happens. Then he told me it was my fault and that I should have looked before I put the burger together and "next time be more careful." He literally told me next time you eat at this establishment to BE MORE CARFUL WHEN YOU BITE INTO OUR BURGERS BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW HERE WHAT YOU COULD BE EATING! I've never had to "be more careful" when I bit into any other burger anywhere else. He then took the burger off my bill. Which was fine. I would have been fine with almost anything he did, even if he didn't do anything. I am upset about the way I was treated. I am upset because I should not have to "be more careful" when I eat a burger. So I guess I'm giving this place one star because if you come here you have to BE CAREFUL when you eat here. As I am writing this, the amazing bartender (not knowing I'm writing this) bought me a beer for what happened. The managers name is George. read more

If you're numb to the situation, you'll complain about common restaurant mistakes and make it seem like a big deal. Luckily I'm not. I've been coming to this place since it was the Wooden Nickel, and without a doubt this is the best version of it since. A large bar, plenty of drink options, a menu that serves its purpose (gotta try the snake bites btw), and staff that exceeds expectations. read more

Alright food, probably one of the worst bartenders I've ever had. Very rude, and switched us over to the other bartender after we had ONE problem with one of our food items that we ordered. If you want to watch the manager and the bartenders get hammered behind the bar while they try to serve customers I reccomend this place. Sloppy, drunk and messy is what I would give this bar. I agree with the other reviews. We tried it for lunch on Sunday. The inside looked nice but I hadn't been in Bamboo Bernie's. We sat outside on the patio and our server came to our table pretty quickly. We got their signature bloody mary and an orange crush, and for not being busy at all it seemed to take awhile for our drinks, though they were good. I asked for drinks for the kids - apple juice, lemonade, chocolate milk - and was told they didn't have any of it (even though milk and fruit punch are printed on the menu!). We split the crab dip appetizer and my husband got the chicken wings, all was good. They have no children's menu, so my kids ordered from the appetizer menu. I got the shrimp tacos and my husband and mother in law got the prime rib sandwich. Half the au jus was spilled on the plate, and it was a clear liquid, not brown like you would think au jus would be. They both said the beef had really no flavor and was fatty. My shrimp quesadillas were OK, nothing spectacular. My son got the mini cheeseburgers and fries, and he said they were good. I asked for more guacamole, our server told us they didn't have that - turns out they did. They have music on the patio, but i think it was a Dave Matthews CD they kept playing. At one point it was so loud you couldn't hear yourself talk, thankfully someone turned it down. We're more likely to go to Mike's Crabhouse or Two Rivers for a night out. I so wanted it to be good, we need more places in Pasadena! If it keeps up like this I don't think it will be open for long. read more

Tony runs a well managed, friendly establishment! This bar accommodates a wide range of different crowds. I for one am a cigar smoker and they have cigar ashtrays which is rare for most bars I've been to, if the smoke bothers people they have fans that can move the smoke away. They also are extremely considerate of both the cigar smoker and non smoker by asking politely to relocate to another side of the outside patio. Their patio is nicely equipped with very comfortable patio furniture and high top bar tables along with seating around the bar outside. They have recently included heaters for outside which helps fight off the chilly temperature drops we have recently been receiving. The inside houses a very large bar stretched across and another bar diagonal from it housing very nice assortment of spirits and liquors. The have three pool tables and a nice club style stage and dance floor surrounded by VIP area and high top and regular tables. The selection a craft beer is becoming better as they have been trying to accommodate the diverse selection of patrons that come in. The staff is super friendly and the managers on duty are on point. The manager I have personally talked to most of the time Shawn is very nice very approachable and makes sure you are having a great time. My bartenders I have had the privilege to serve me have been Kelly, Chris, Jennifer, and Mary have been efficient, friendly, and very accommodating. Chris will make it his mission to know your name if you come frequently and is like an elephant, he won't forget it! Jennifer is super optimistic and friendly and very approachable. Kelly you can tell has the experience and knowledge of a professional mixologist and Mary is quick to make sure you have your drink and won't leave you feeling like you waited forever for your drink. Since this place has opened you can tell the owner, Tony has committed to providing an excellent establishment that creates a well rounded grand experience for any type of person seeking to relax and remove the stress of everyday life!
