My son and I came to Snoqualmie/North Bend to explore Twin Peaks as super-fans. We ate here twice and it was great!!! We stayed at the Salish Lodge which is very nice, but overpriced. We decided to come here for breakfast before the Twin Peaks tour we took through David Israel's company (also highly recommended). I got the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast special and my son got two pancakes. My meal was outstanding. In a diner breakfast place like this, I usually want to try that meal first. It did not disappoint. The eponymous Chicken Fried Steak itself was excellent, maybe the best I've had. The hash browns were also top notch. Eggs were great as was the sausage gravy. The biscuit was serviceable but not remarkable, though my standards are probably higher than most people when it comes to biscuits. The portions are outrageous. My appetite isn't what it used to be and I could tackle only 1/4th of my meal. My son got two pancakes and maple syrup (and extra charge but I appreciated that they had the real thing). Must have been 15 inches in diameter! Some of the best pancakes he and I have ever had. He finished one of them. Later we came back as part of the tour and my son and I shared fries and a slice of apple pie with (soft serve) ice cream and coffee. The fries were great!!! I am baffled by the reviews dogging them. I'm not a pie guy but it was good. And the coffee was outstanding! Better than the coffee provided in our room at the Salish Lodge I made with the fancy Chemex apparatus provided, which I thought was excellent. The staff was consistent friendly, attentive, and efficient. This place qua restaurant is more than fine. The prices aren't outrageous, but aren't going to pull you back in time like the rest of the place. And it seems like the portions are enough to feed 2-3 people per serving. Do not be discouraged by a 3 star average or all the bad reviews! I don't know what's wrong with those people. Maybe have been huffing sparkle or something. If you are Twin Peaks fan, you absolutely must come here and explore North Bend and Snoqualmie. Check out the mural in the back, the merch they have for sale, the graffiti in the bathroom, and feel the wind knocked out of you when you stand before that glorious sign and open the door. Visiting from another state and Twede's Cafe/RR was high on my list of to do's! Overall the experience is about what you'd expect for a diner in a small town. The menu was really sizable with lots of items to chose from, I got the avocado burger and it was pretty good. I'm from Oklahoma though and the beef we have here always seems to be better than other states, can't fault Twede's for that! The food was good, not over priced. Paying $12-$14 for a large burger and fries seems to be standard when dining out these days. My feedback would be - merchandise. If you had more sizes in shirts then small, I would have probably spent a small fortune! Luckily I can order from them online so this was only a minor inconvenience. As a die hard Twin Peaks fan who's been coming here off and on for 15 years, it pains me to say the food is still sub par. I've had two, maybe three opportunities to eat here under the new owners; the first time was a meal to go after the pandemic started. A huge gut bomb of a sandwich and frozen "French fries". Very greasy and everything became smothered in the cheese like substance found in my sandwich. I gave a full meal another chance recently and my breakfast was almost inedible. The quality of the food is poor but you do get a lot of it, if huge portions are your thing. The server was efficient and it was busy that Sunday morning. My scramble was huge but barely had any egg in it; it tasted industrial and was mostly filled with frozen potato's. I'm confident everything was frozen, I don't think anything here is fresh. The space is in a bit of decay and I hate to say that the nostalgia and love of Twin Peaks is not enough for me to return here to eat. We regretted not having brunch at the waterfall down the road. That said, I noticed a few locals appeared to still be frequenting the space (in addition to other TP fans, clearly there to take photos). I don't wish this diner to fail and I hope the fans can help keep it going. I would recommend the kitchen reduce the size of the menu and invest in quality ingredients; you can still do simple and "diner classics" at a higher quality. We need fresh pie! We took some out of town guests who are big Twin Peaks fans to Twede's. We were promptly seated in the back of the restaurant and received decent service throughout our meal. It is a classic diner in virtually all ways - cleanliness, food, everything. Portions are enormous too. We got coffee (meh), a cinnamon roll the size of my head with mounds of icing, plate sized pancakes and a massive omelet. Everything was OK at best, the cherry pie was the biggest disappointment. Clearly made from canned fruit and didn't hold it's shape on the plate in a rather unappetizing way. Prices were kind of high too. Overall I wouldn't return but if you're a die hard fan and need to check it out it'll be an acceptable meal. read more

Nay-sayers, say what you will...I am one picky chik and loved this little spot in DT north bend. After hiking Little Si, we stopped in despite many negative reviews. However, the biscuits and gravy (B&G) were calling our name. We took a seat at a used booth and waited for a few minutes for a very nice young lady to bus the table. They were so slammed she didn't know we were new customers. I felt for her and the rest of the staff who were all truly kind, polite, helpful and friendly - they were just BUSY. And, for a small family-owned business, that is a good thing. On to the food...omg, being from the south, a tasty order of B&G is truly hard to find in WA. We have tried EVERY PLACE. This is THE SPOT! Biscuits are huge, light and FLUFFY. Gravy is smooth, perfectly seasoned and plentiful. TY! Eesh. Not their best day. Walked in and immediately seated. Then... nothing. Took forever for the waitress to come by. Got coffee. Then forever to have our order taken. Then... yawn... forever to get a simple omelette. Meanwhile the waitress was invisible. Had to flag someone down to get another cup of joe while we sat for 45+ minutes waiting for food. The food was meh. The cheeseburger omelette sounded like it could be decent. It wasn't. They pile on shredded iceberg lettuce for no good reason and the shredded cheese in the omelette wasn't even melted. Apparently they don't like washing dishes because everything was piled onto one plate - including four half slices of toast. Maybe put the toast on a little plate so there's room to work? They seemed to have adequate staff so maybe just horribly mismanaged? read more

The people that left a bad review were def having a bad day... this place is LEGIT AND THE BOMB! From the moment you walk through the doors you are feeling warm and fuzzy! The staff is AMAZING, helpful and kind. Because of the pandemic they are understaffed (as every service industry business..nobody wants to work) the staff is really working overtime and covering 4 the short staff and they are doing so good. I'm a Twin Peaks fan, and I was OK with Twede's being a bit of a tourist trap. But I certainly did not expect to pay ~ $21.50 for 2 cups of mediocre coffee and 2 slices of (admittedly tasty) pie. (I always leave a 20% tip - so the total was close to $26!) In summary: don't bother; it's not worth it. Service was slow mid-day on a Friday. It didn't help that the manager was very vocal about the staff not meeting her high standards. She made sure everyone could hear. Maybe these young men were new hires? North Bend is in desperate need of a great breakfast spot, unfortunately, this is not it for me :/ There are so many options on the menu. (almost too many honestly) I forget exactly what we tried. It was all just ok really. The server was kind of weird and encroaching on our personal space more than necessary. I suspect a lot of these reviews are outdated. For Mother's Day this year, I took my wife and son out for brunch and everything was just lovely. The only downside was that it was extremely busy, but that hardly stands as a negative, simply that it's popular. And with good reason. As would be expected, black coffee was plentiful and perfect. AND HOT! I ended up picking up a mixed scramble plate that I was in no shape to finish it was so large. I'm pretty sure it weighed in at about 3 pounds when I got home. If your a Twin Peak's fan, there's just about no more iconic place you can go to, and inside, than Twede's Cafe, home to the interior and exteriors shots of The Double R Diner. The staff inside have embraced this identity...some of them were wearing Twin Peaks Sherif Department T-shirts, the walls are decorated with items placed there by the production, and, of course, they serve "Twin Peaks Cherry Pie". (Don't miss the filming photos and other Twin Peaks specific items in the small hallway to the restrooms in the back. My wife and I went here twice. It was our first stop in town in the mid-afternoon for Twin Peaks Cherry Pie. Sadly...I mean really sadly, the pie was not great...too sweet, tasted like any mass produced grocery store bought pie...if you want really great cherry pie in town, try the Attic at the Salish Lodge nearby (which doubles as the front of the Great Northern Hotel. We also returned for breakfast the next morning for a generally better food experience. This too had a bit of a disappointment...the coffee was just okay. It was definitely hot but not so much "Damn." It was weak diner coffee. This is an epidemic in many breakfast restaurants who really just don't know how to make coffee...it should be more than browned water...especially so close to the coffee-hub of Seattle, and especially, especially at this location where tourists from all over the world will be coming with high expectations for the "Damned Fine" coffee. Coffee here should be an iconic experience and it was generally disappointing diner coffee. The breakfast was good though. In terms of basic American diner breakfasts...the portions were HUGE. I had an egg white omelette with spinach, cheddar cheese and onions. It was served with hash-browns... all of it was cooked and delicious...though I could barely eat half of it because there was so much. Definitely perfect classic diner food...perhaps a touch greasy. My wife got a vegetable omelette which she also thought was very nice, and french fries on the side which looked like they were made from giant potatoes about five minutes ago. Now that's some damn fine coffee! We just couldn't stay away during our visit to Snoqualmie Falls, aka Twin Peaks! Others had described the cafe as down the street, but it is more like 4.5 miles away. Once we arrived to the small parking lot, we immediately were seated and looked over the menu. My husband and I were set in making sure we got our pie. We ordered the cherry pie with coffee and tea. I had mild expectations, but the pie was delicious! And they made sure to serve it with whipped cream. We even asked for more and the staff was happy to oblige. My husband liked the coffee enough to buy a bag, which is actually produced by the coffee shop across the street. If you're out for a day trip, you should definitely make a stop! read more

"This must be where pies go when they die". Two weeks ago, I was visiting Seattle for the first time. It wasn't until the very last day before I was supposed to go home that I happened to mention to someone that I started watching Twin Peaks and have been enjoying it that they told me about this place, so I had to drive out to see it. I ate far too much on this trip already. I had already had breakfast, lunch, a cup of clam chowder from Pike Place Chowder, and two piroshkis from Piroshki Piroshki on the drive out here. Since I love the show, walking into this place was a surreal experience for me (and I have been acting professionally for over 13 years!). Being that this place was made famous by the TV show, I wish the restroom was nicer and cleaner to honor the name of the show as it is one of the few remnants left of it. I did force myself to have a slice of chocolate cream pie and it was very good. I told the hostess all about how stoked I was to be there and she was so kind to take some photos of me there as I asked. Unfortunately, she didn't mention Snoqualmie Falls nearby which was also featured on the show. I didn't find out about that until late at night and drove back out there at midnight at which point it was just too dark to see the falls in all its glory. If I ever make it out here again, I will make sure to go on an empty stomach so that I could have a burger, fries, and a slice of cherry pie. read more

Hubby and I were together while I was working not far away! I have wanted to bring hubby here since coming with one of my co-workers. We arrived and were seated right away on a Saturday. We order the Double R breakfast with a side of hash browns because we were sharing our food! Breakfast come out of the kitchen very fast! You could tell that the bacon and sausage were not store bought! Everything was really good minus the hash browns. Really fun experience if you're a twin peaks fan! My dad and his wife ordered the cherry pie of course, but I didn't try it since I don't like sweets, pies, or cherries. They weren't cherry pie fans either but were very surprised at how much they liked it and ate the whole thing. I just got a cup of decaf, and I'm usually not a coffee drinker. But it was actually a damn good cup of coffee. We had already eaten lunch not too long before, otherwise I would've ordered a sandwich or grilled cheese... if I go back I'll definitely make sure I'm hungry and order food. Legit diner. I would give this place a 5 star review just based on service! The staff went above and beyond for our post Twin Peaks wedding, brunch. They were fast and efficient to start. The vibe from them all was so amazing! And the food is cooked well and flavorful. Things like, "The bacon is amazing", and "This coffee is damn fine!" "This sausage..." "Wow, try the bread..." We're muttered a few times while we stuffed our faces. Lol. Jacob and his team are absolutely Amazing!!! They showed us so much kindness and attention. We took up half their tables, and they were very gracious. Not making us squish into less booths, to maximize their profits. You can tell they love what they do. And we love them for it too! When the chili arrived I wished it was my bowl! I did get to sample a bite, and it was the best chili I've had in a long time!!! Made me wish I had two stomachs... (Or that I didn't live across an ocean from here. ) Mahalo Nui Loa (Thank You Very Much) to Jacob and all of the amazing staff. You all made our time at Twedes really memorable and fun! We were here for coffee but then we wanted some pie. In the beginning, this person was patient because we were asking about pie. He explained us they arrive later in the afternoon. BTW: It is not made here. So we decided to get something else. He handed us the menu. No one was behind us not arrived while the following happened: we sat over an empty table by the door while reading fast the menu cause, again, it was to go. Before he went to a table, he came back to tell us tables were for customers because that's how they make money. I mean whaaaaat??!!! Aren't we customers? Are we ghosts? If it's the latter, this is a PRIME EXAMPLE on why a chef should manage a professional kitchen & not a GM: quality control. If they do have a chef.... lol, he must not get paid enough because he has no pride in his work. You get what you pay for. Though to be fair, it is during covid & restaurants have been struggling to keep their doors open. However, if they are unwilling to even throw out old bread, I can only imagine what other toxic shit they will serve just to save a buck. I think the worst part is that when I called to explain the problem, they were more concerned with issuing me a refund, than notifying the kitchen to throw out the biscuits and notifying the customers already there eating. And their "special" is biscuits & gravy! They had a fair amount of people in there dining (which baffles me... but I digress) so imagine how many of them were eating those biscuits?? I'm a HUGE Twin Peaks/Lynch fan, and I was sooooo excited to come here. I was nervous at first because of some negative reviews posted on here but I was very happy with my visit. I got a DAMN FINE cup of coffee (and yes, it really was damn fine), and an omelet with hasbrowns and toast. They were super accommodating with the non dairy cheese and vegan sausage I requested for the omelet. And not to mention their portions were HUGE! Super well worth the money. The food arrived quick and the waitress kept checking in on us. I highly recommend this location. It also looks JUST LIKE it does in Twin Peaks. I really enjoyed coming here! I honestly expected the food to be terrible and assumed they were just a touristy place because they were on Twin Peaks. But it's actually good diner food. Nothing fancy but good food. One great thing about the menu is that you can swap any of their burgers for chicken or other protein choices. The cherry pie is very good.
