A little pricey but their salads are pretty big. Always get myself the caesar salad with chicken!

Laura, the owner, greeted us as soon as we walked in and was probably the sweetest and most welcoming person we've met in Kansas City. She immediately made us feel at home. We started with the meatballs and burrata, both of which were delicious. The meatballs were especially well seasoned. My wife had the bolognese and absolutely loved it, and she really appreciated having gluten-free options available. I had the cacio e pepe, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. All in all, the food, service, and ambiance were outstanding. One of our favorite meals of the trip. Highly recommend for both locals and visitors alike.

Great upscale Italian atmosphere without making you feel like you need to pronounce every menu item with an accent. The menu has a nice variety, and our waiter was fantastic. He took the time to explain the dishes and even gave us a heads-up on which items took longer to prepare. I always appreciate the honesty--nothing worse than wondering if your entrée is being handcrafted by Italian grandmas in the back. The drinks were delicious and surprisingly reasonably priced. We did find out they have a happy hour at the bar...right after we missed it. Rookie mistake on our part! The lasagna absolutely stole the show. Rich, flavorful, cheesy, and worth every bite. If you're on the fence, order it. The appetizer was tasty but felt a little small for the price, so I'd probably save room (and money) for more pasta instead. Overall, I'd definitely come back to work my way through the menu. Next time I'll aim for happy hour, order another pasta dish, and try not to let the lasagna set unrealistic expectations for everything else.

Wine selection is vast... there is something for every one. Although, we didn't indulge in cocktails the ones at neighboring tables certainly looked delicious! We splurged on steak-skewers and a lasagna appetizer. Out-of-this world amazing. I almost regret not ordering a second round of appetizers and calling it my entire entree. Fortunately, we moved to the next course and were even more impressed. The magic touch to the chef's Tagliatelle Bolognese is total witchcraft. As one who appreciates a good pasta dish, this is now officially my second favorite pasta dish ever. We finished with beautiful entrees including the Michael Smith's Pork Roast, Smoked Mozzarella Stuffed Veal Chop, and the Wood Grilled KC Strip Steak. The Pork Roast was served beautifully. The spicy tomato sauce with the Veal Chop was absolutely delightful. The Strip Steak was tender and cooked to a perfect medium-rare. We could not have enjoyed our meal more if we tried. Ambiance is intimate yet energetic. Staff is professional, friendly, and extremely attentive. There wasn't a bite that was anything less than perfect. Having moved away from Kansas City, we do still miss having Farina to frequent. What an absolute gem of a restaurant. You absolutely cannot go wrong with anything on their menu or recommended by their staff. If it's your first time, absolutley step out of your comfort zone and order off the current specials menu. It's always proven to be delightful for us, every time! Thanks again to Ms. Nancy for being so helpful and getting us the reservation we were hoping for! We shall return when we visit KC next!

Fun fact: they said they named the restaurant Wise Guy as this was a phrase used by mobsters. The bartender/server was excellent. He made sure our drinks were made to perfection and let us enjoy the space for a bit before ordering. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was great. I would order this again. My husband said the same in regard to his pizza. There was a slight mishap as our appetizer, garlic knots, were missed. But our server was excellent and brought them out as soon as possible and free of charge. He handled it beautifully and it was honestly no big deal. We will return here especially as it's directly on the street car route. I would make reservations as we barely got a seat at the bar and this was on a Tuesday night.

It did not contain fresh tomatoes and seemed to have some type of pickled topping, which I personally did not care for. The spaghetti was okay, but it wasn't something I would order again. On the positive side, our server was very friendly and provided great service throughout our meal. The restaurant has a dark atmosphere, which may appeal to some diners, but wasn't really my preference for a lunch outing. One thing that surprised me was that the soda was served in cans rather than from a fountain. While the food wasn't quite what I was hoping for, the friendly service was appreciated.

Well seasoned and not greasy. The lunch came with 3 pieces of chicken, a scoop of green beans (has bacon and onion in it fyi) and a scoop of their delicious mashed potatoes with white creamy gravy (no pepper, more cheesy, so good). I do wish they gave you a bit more of the sides, but it was a good amount for the $ at lunch. Appreciate the bread and butter as you wait for the meal. Our server and everyone we interacted with were so nice. The space is very cozy and comfortable. We definitely plan to go back for dinner soon, as we hadn't been here for many years?

The pasta was a great accent to the chicken and the citrus was the dominant flavor, in the best way! My friend loved the gnocchi. The potato Dumplings were large and fluffy. Dessert was exquisite. We shared a huge piece of the Berry Cream Torte.
