Received a free 1/2 pint clam chowder for checking in on yelp! :) We got the 3 crab cake dinner with onion rings and a creb meat sandwich with fries. I am not a fan of the crab cake because there was more filler than I like ...(i prefer all lump crab meat crabcakes ...from Maryland) but the taste was fine. But for the price ($15) it was pretty good deal. Came on a bed of chopped up lettuce and 2 slices of tomatoes. The crab meat sandwich was full of slivers of crab meat. It was mayo based. It was very good but i wish it had a little bit of celery or some crunch. Came with lettuce and tomato. Overall very enjoyable. A few tables inside of store. Two employees so a bit slow as there were other people purchasing seafood to cook at home. but they were nice and friendly. read more

Ordered the "fisherman's platter" for take out. the fryer must have been set on high! Absolutely great fish, clams and shrimp. And it fed two of us! No grease, just good flavor. Spent $40 on two pounds of Salmon, which is a little bit pricier than my normal fish spot but was in a pinch and figured I'd give it try. Upon prepping the salmon, I discovered that it was completely loaded with bones (as shown in the attached picture). Now I know why I don't try new fish markets and will not be returning here. Went for dinner with my husband, daughter and son in law and 2 grandchildren. it is a fish store and also has tables for eating in. You order from the counter and then food is served to you or you pick up at the counter. Food was great and fresh. Kids had chicken fingers- portion was large enough to share - which they did at the recommendation of the staff. All adults started with clam chowder which was excellent. I had clam roll which was served on a round roll and had lots of clams. More than if it were on a hot dog roll as it is often done. Other entrees included lobster roll, crab cakes all were very good. Popped in yesterday for crabmeat to make my own crab cakes. Asked how much meat was in the prepackaged containers for $12.99. Was assured "it was over 8oz, actually closer to 3/4 lb". I needed 8 for my recipe. Got home and opened it to see the container wasn't full.. The actual amount I bought was just under 5oz! no where near 12oz that I was promised. I rang this morning and asked what the weight of their containers were and was told "they could be any weight, it's not an exact science". That's definitely not helpful when it comes to a recipe!! We picked up fish and chips and a chowder and by the time we got home, the fish and chips were soggy and disappointing. Maybe it was just because of their use of styrofoam containers (I wish they'd use a better recyclable or compost able alternative), but we were disappointed with the food. The people were really nice and the service was helpful. I wanted 1 gal of lobster bisque and 5 2lb+ lobsters for my son's birthday. The lobster was fresh but cachectic from being in the tank too long without food. The gallon of bisque was the worst ever. It smelled like provolone cheese...I think it was too old and rotted. There was not a single fiber of lobster flesh. Never setting foot in that place again. Spent 250 bucks for dumpster food. read more

I've heard a lot of buzz because of the opening of the new place in Acton but I didn't See a current review of Concord o I wanted to start there. The place is old looking and needs an update badly. The fish in the display look great Until you notice the prices. WOW!!! Really high prices so I walked over to look at the Takeout menu and were surprised that those prices are so reasonable. I ordered a flounder Sandwich and they asked me if I wanted for there or takeout. I couldn't believe anyone Would want to eat there. The fish was delicious and filling. The help was another story. The guy who waited on me must have been one of the owners. He and the fish I was eating had the same amount of personality. The two other guys There didn't have much more and they looked like they were in pain. My advice? Call in an order and pick it up fast!!!! read more

Twin Seafood is a retail store selling the freshest seafood I've ever found and they're also a great take for lunch or an early dinner. They'll cook up anything you see on display (and then some)--broiled, baked, grilled or fried, served up as a platter, a sandwich, over a green salad or with rice and they do it with a genuine smile. Sure there are other fish markets come lunch counters, but none other cooks it up the way Twin Seafood does. Grilled spank-me-fresh bluefish over a tasty salad. It's wicked yummy! I have been going to this establishment for years, I usually stop by for lunch and alternate between the Grilled Tuna Sandwich or the Clam Chowder. The last few visits I was waited on by a man with gray hair, he is not on of the brother's who owns the place and he is quite rude. The first time I ran into him he was ladling my soup into a to go cup and managed to get soup on his hand, instead of wiping it off or washing it off he proceeded to lap it off with his tongue and then place my cover on..gross! I went there this week and he waited on me again, I asked for a pint of Clam Chowder and wasn't watching him so I didn't notice he was filling up a quart container. I quickly spoke up and said "oh I didn't want a quart" and he said well that is what you asked for... actually no I didn't ask for that. He grabbed the container back and dumped the whole thing back in the pot and tossed the used container aside and proceeded to get my pint. Not really sure what is up with this guy but he is rude! I called after the hand licking incident and spoke with one of the owners who apologized for the hand licking antics. While I think the food here is good I don't appreciate the attitude of this employee and now if I see him working the counter I walk on by. read more

When I call to put in an order for lunch at my firm, the people on the phone are extremely rude to me. Also, the menu on their website is not accurate, it appears, because every time I call, they don't know what I'm talking about when I am reading the exact item listed on the menu. Our orders are a sizable amount of business (~$200), so I would expect the establishment to be thankful that we are choosing to give them business. I don't want to be treated poorly over the phone. I like family businesses. You work harder and you are responsible for the product you sell. You are behind the counter and you develop a local following that insures success. When you think about todays' venues for seafood, fresh produce and and meats ..I guess you think Whole Foods. Pretty much right there ..everything you need. But there is something about honoring the tradition of supporting your local market. Whether it's Idlywilde in Acton, or Verrill Farm in Concord it's what should be done to make certain you can jump in the car and get that fresh fillet of haddock that would be so good with some fresh produce from one of the above. Much like supporting the "pro" at your golf club! Don't golf but I couldn't think of a better comparison. So we have been going into Twins since they opened in 91. A real treat to have a local fish market in town. We go there so much that yes I have had a couple of not so good fish but then frequency can bring about a bad apple once in awhile and not so much that I would stop going. So today Christmas Eve 7:00 AM I am off to get the oysters for the incredible stuffing I will make for Christmas. 2 quarts of chucked bivalves that will make cousin Glenn's heart pitter patter. My recipe will be sent upon request and so simple. The market is already humming and the twins are greeting customers like old friends. Family and friends have come by to lend a hand because the crush is coming. The mad house known as "last minute" on the way. I look over the offering for the day and remark at the quality of the little necks from RI with their mahogany color. They would be so good in a sauce but Joe remarks too good to eat cooked! The haddock and cod are opaque in their freshness along with several different types of shrimp. One lady finishes her order and it comes to $300.00 and a big cheer goes up as she says "make sure the squid has lots of testacles.......on no I mean tentacles.......she's done! Merry! read more

People at work used to always come here on Wednesdays. I am not sure if they still do but I like to eat here occasionally. It is part fish market and part restaurant. They have seating inside and outside for the nice weather. It does smell a bit fishy but it's supposed to, right? I usually get fried stuff like clams and I once had a lobster roll. It was all tasty and the fries are pretty good as well. The prices are a bit high for lunch but the seafood is fresh. The fish is as good as it gets unless you're on the dock. It's expensive, though. You choose whatever you want from the case, and they cook it up for you. The fish is definitely the star here. Broiled dinners come with rice and cole slaw, or you can get a salad with broiled fish on top, a traditional fried fish platter with fries and cole slaw or a fish sandwich. The sandwich seems to be the best value. I gave it only 3 stars because of the lack of variety of choices of sides and the total lack of ambiance, not the quality of the fish. (There's also fried chicken fingers for the fish haters in the group) This was the 2nd time we've been. I had 2 stuffed clams and a salad, my husband had a grilled tuna sandwich with onion rings, and we both really enjoyed our meal. Last time I got a fried clam plate, and my husband got clam chowder and broiled salmon. Atmosphere is strictly casual. Maybe 7 or 8 tables with checkered plastic tablecloths in a fish market atmosphere, plastic silverware (is that an oxymoron??), drinks from a bottle in the refrigerated case. This is my first experience purchasing from this place and never again. Being a military family We move from place to place and I always have to seek out stores that will accommodate my families needs, diet, etc. Never again will I spend a dime in this establishment. I purched over $50 in salmon and was attended to by a disinterested gentleman with grey hair and scruffy face who seemed to not want to be there. He was not friendly, I tried to engage him and he just acted like he could not hear me. I was not done with my purchase when he already at the end of the counter with my fish wrapped ready for me to leave. When my husband asked if they did a military discount the man loudly answered of course not. Do not fret if you are new to the area, Whole Foods in Bedford has comparable prices, the same if not better selection and better service. You can me there on a weekly basis for now on. read more

I brought my mother, son and grandson to this market/restaurant a couple of weeks ago for lunch. The place is appallingly dirty. The tables are streaked with food, the floor looks like it hasn't been vacuumed or washed in months and even the bins where condiments are stored are dirty. While the food was decent the portions were small. The prices are incredibly high and the staff is surly. I do not recommend this place! read more

This review is based on the lunch i got here the other day - i was in the center and wanted to buy fish for dinner and was hungry so i decided to also get some lunch to go. I ordered a clan roll - meh, not great. the clams were gritty, need to be cleaned better. The bellies were also a lot bigger than told, i said i only like small bellies - I should have just gotten the clam strip - also, the fried clams were kind of soggy - i was sooo hungry i broke into on the way to my car and the breading was soft and mushy, very disappointing. When I arrived home I placed the fried clams in a very hot oven to heat them as well as crisp them up, it was better, but the bellies were bigger than I like. The tartar sauce they gave was really good, though, i put a little on the bun and the rest I used to eat my fries. I also got some clam chowda - i tasted a little, but saving the rest for later, I am hopeful - good taste and not too thick, and enough of the good stuff, too. The service is fast and friendly - helpful and humorous. I also ordered a nice piece of salmon for dinner - all the fish in the case look great and I can't wait til I am hungry for dinner. There is a lot of fish to buy, there is scrod, blue fin tuna, sole, haddock, swordfish, scallops, shrimp, and lobster - there are even more choices, place smells clean, and all the fish on display appear fresh and well maintained. I recommend that if you go here beware of the clam rolls, maybe give them a chance by ordering the fried fish and I would say the chowda is a good option, too. The prices of the fish in the market range between $13-$20 per pound. I think that the next time i go i will stick with the fresh fish and if i need to satisfy a craving I will try the fish and chips or just the clam chowda. read more

Years ago I used to work in the neighborhood and would treat myself to a grilled fish sandwich every so often. My recent return was an attempt to capture that earlier pleasure. I was happy to see that there are now more tables for eating in and that the sandwich costs had not escalated much. If the Cajun grilled tuna was still on the menu, I must have missed it, sadly. The regular grilled tuna offered a generous portion of fish but pretty bland flavor and it was overcooked and pretty dry. I noticed that the retail cost of the fish was quite expensive, as before. Nice and fresh looking, but not affordable for me. "Service" (really just taking the order) is brusque, leaving the impression that they'd rather be doing something else. read more
