Blue Sky Combo Plate (2 meats, 2 sides) Brisket, Ribs, Chili and Collard Greens
John C.

After a visit the Georgia Aquarium, I wanted to grab lunch, and this seemed to be a highly reviewed spot based on Yelp and Google. It wasn't too far away, so I thought I would give it a try. There was a World Cup game at the stadium at the time, so I thought it could get busy, but it was actually on the quiet side. I was given a seat right away. It looks like a rustic BBQ place. It took awhile for the server to come by. Probably over 15 minutes. I don't totally blame her because the customer she was with was talking non-stop. One of the other servers noticed and took my order because they saw what happened. But once my main server was freed up, she was friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly too. What I tried: - Complimentary Pork Rinds: Good. The smaller pieces were the perfect texture, but some of the larger pieces were very touch. - Beef Brisket: Excellent. Just way good BBQ should be. Super tender and juicy, with no real need for sauce because all the flavour is already there. - Ribs: OK. They were tender, but not very meaty. They seemed like ribs I could get any restaurant. - Collard Greens: Very good. My server recommended this one. I haven't had a lot of collard greens before, and when I have, it's always been forgettable. But not this one. The liquid had noticeably more vinegar, which made it so much better. - Brisket Chili: Good. It was a straightforward, but good chili. The jalapenos have it a little bit of extra flavour. Overall, a good BBQ I enjoyed. If I were in the area again, I would not hesitate to return to have more of the brisket and collard greens.

Service was fast and friendly. I was suited and had my food in under 10 minutes. The ribs had a great smokey flavor without being overwhelming. The brisket can great flavor use so tender that it fell apart. Had to finish cornware and casserole. I will definitely come back here before I leave town!

Looking for BBQ lunch within walking distance of the aquarium? This is likely the closest place. Great beers, BBQ that does the trick for a quick fix. Food: 4/5 pork rinds come with the table and were better than the gas station bags I've had. I would recommend getting the southern style brisket and the pulled pork butt. Ribs were good but a little on the drier side, and I've had better sausage elsewhere but they weren't bad. The loaded baked potato with brisket was pretty good, but the shredded cheese is not melted, and I personally prefer a slightly mushier baked potato. Seasonal sides were broccoli salad and sweet potato casserole which were delicious, but the normal sides of coleslaw and mac n cheese were more 3/5. Mac n cheese tasted like Velveeta, not baked. Coleslaw was a little watery and on the plain side. Banana pudding on the other hand - amazing. Small serving cup for $5 but worth trying! Drinks: Monday Night Brewery sour was a perfect balance of berry and lemon. Creature Comforts Tropical IPA was pretty good as well. Service: 5/5 loved our server! She was personable and answered all our questions. Staff appeared to be in good spirits as well which is always pleasant. Ambiance: popular music from 2010s was playing at a good volume, barstools in the middle of the restaurant surrounding the bar, seating was mostly booths otherwise.

A really good BBQ restaurant in downtown ATL, and we were quite surprised it was that good. Ate a nice dinner here with some ice cold beer. The smoked sausage and beef brisket were probably our favorite with the mac 'n cheese and smoked wings. Service was pretty good with friendly and helpful servers. it.

The ambiance of this place was amazing and the person that helped us was super nice! My first bite of the food melted in my mouth. I thought the cornbread was ok. It wasn't my favorite

This place lives up to its reputation online for having mouthwatering brisket sandwiches! We walked to the establishment in advance of a concert, and were so pleased with the comfortable seats at the bar, the outstanding service and the very reasonable pricing! Would definitely go again if in downtown Atlanta!

Best food we had in Georgia!! Really tasty BBQ. We had the brisket, a pulled pork sandwich and the BBQ smoked chicken wings. Glad we tried all three, 10/10 all around. We ordered takeout from the bar and waited about 20 minutes. Generous BBQ sauce with each entree and the ranch with the wings was soooo good. Husband loved the brisket. Place was busy yet felt welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Burnt Ends

I was in Atlanta on a layover and I had to get some lunch. I was craving BBQ and I heard about this spot. I got burnt ends with a side of coleslaw. The burnt ends were delicious, some bites melted in your mouth more than others. They have their regular sauce, vinegar based sauce, and spicy sauce. 100% go for the spicy sauce with your BBQ here. It's not that spicy and adds a slight kick without being too overpowering.

Brisket Baked Potato, Mac and cheese, combo plate, sweet potato casserole and potato salad.

We were sat right away, our waitress was nice! She refilled our drinks without even asking! We started with the corn bread, it was ok, a little too moist. The brisket baked potato was the perfect size. It is an appetizer but was a full meal for me. The mac and cheese was alright, not the best. My husband said the potato salad was the best potato salad he's had! The sweet tea was tasty! The sweeter bbq sauce was really good! Only downside was the mac and cheese, corn bread and paying for parking.

Smoked Wings - 10

The food was better than expected, but be prepared to leave smelling like smoke. We were seated fairly quickly, and soon after ordered drinks and were told which meats were sold out - my favorite, pulled pork was one of them. I ordered the chicken sandwich with mac and cheese and added on the collard greens. THE best collard greens I've ever had! I completely forgot about the sandwich entirely and devoured the collards. The macaroni and cheese were good. It wasn't as thick or cheesy as what I'm used to, but it was a decent macaroni and cheese. The chicken on the chicken sandwich was unbelievable. It was juicy, smooth and tender, and not reminiscent of chicken at all. I have to know the secret to cooking it that perfectly. This is an ideal casual eatery with quick and knowledgeable service and amazing BBQ. They were able to accommodate our big party on the fly. I recommend getting here before 4pm when some of the items may go out of stock.

So far not impressed. Service is slow and the server we had wasn't knowledgeable about the menu. We had to ask and follow up and ask again. I hope the food makes up for it. Well.. just got my food, my chicken is missing . Guess I will have to wait for that too! So never got the chicken BUT the Mac was good and so were the ribs but after 20 mins of not having my full order I just asked for a few more ribs. So yeah service is a struggle but the waitress seemed young and inexperienced but nice. She discounted our bill so I appreciate that.

We arrived a little after 5 pm in Sunday and didn't realize they close at 6 until we sat at the bar. Bartender was super friendly and gracious making sure we did not feel rushed at all. They were out of burnt ends and sausage when we arrived but considering they were closing in less then an hour that makes sense. We ordered the brisket and mac and cheese and it was delicious. Brisket melted in your mouth and they have 5-6 different bbq sauces to pick from. Thier SC sauce was as it should be with that smokey mustard flavor but my peeosn favorite was the Texas one that had a little kick to it! This is a laid back causal bbq place full of delicious food and suggestive humor ( pull my pork, rub my butt and nice rack lol) Small restaurant with lots of seating. If you are in Atlanta and looking for some BBQ stop in here!

What they call Mac 'n Cheese
Donya T.

Most backyard bbq runs circles around this food. How is BBQ even a part of your business name and the waiter starts with "we have no burnt ends, brisket or beef ribs? That was the red flag we missed. Pork ribs were dry, tough and tasted like all the wrong smoke. Greens were edible but too much vinegar. Cornbread was just mushy. Worst of all, the mac& cheese had no flavor, looked like noodles with cloudy water because it was so runny. The three year old with us made a face of disgust when they tasted it. While our waiter was personable, we observed many of the staff practicing tik tok dances in a corner which hold not have bothered me at all had the food been good at all. Sorry to say, the food is just not good. This spot could definitely use a menu, chef and management reboot.

Ask the Community - Twin Smokers Bbq

Are soft drinks fountain or bottled/canned?

Soft drinks are fountain. However, be aware that if you order water, it is not free. You will be charged for a non-alcoholic (NA) drink. We had never seen this before and were surprised when our bill came, but it is apparently a growing trend used…

Is there parking at this location?

Directly across the street in the deck. It's free. Get them to stamp it inside restaurant.

Is smoker(s) inside of restaurant?

Yes, but enclosed and not smoky

Is there anything a vegetarian can eat besides sides?

Yikes... I'd prob not recommend this place for a vegetarian.

Is their beef halal?

They use Creekstone beef. All Creekstone beef is halal.

If there was a rub, it was subtle to the point of being almost untasteable. Quarter rack of Ribs: poor. Meaty, but far too tough, definitely not fall off the bone. Again lacking in flavor, and burnt in spots. Side of Mac n Cheese: easily the start of the show. Very flavorful, baked and not swimming in cheese sauce, possible notes of ritz crackers detected. I'd have eaten a main course sized portion, and imagine it could mix well with pulled pork or chopped brisket, should Matt's ever consider expanding their repertoire of meats. Side of potato salad: also very solid. Simple but nicely flavored, just creamy enough. Side of collards: fine but unremarkable. Bbq sauce: decent-ish, more tangy than sweet. Very thick. Packaging : Matt's really could improve here. The ribs and chicken, piled together between two slices of white bread, was wrapped in white paper which was in turn stuffed into a paper bag with the containers of sides. This was messy- yes, bbq is by nature a messy undertaking, but a clamshell container would've made the whole fiasco a lot easier to deal with. A fork and spoon were included, no knife... and no napkins. Really? For a paper wrapped oversauced pile of meat... not even a single napkin? I honestly would've been fine paying an extra buck or so for some better packaging and, IDK, maybe a wetnap. Overall, this bbq lover was unimpressed. Perhaps the rave reviews made my expectations too high. I've honestly had better bbq at multiple places in my relative bbq desert hometown of Boston. I was hoping for a real treat during my business trip to Atlanta; instead, I'm yearning for the joint near my suburban New England home...
