First visit, customer service was fine, nothing particularly memorable one way or the other. They offered a sign-up perk for a free brownie, which was a nice touch. As for the food: the ribs were the highlight, tender and flavorful. The brisket, however, was a bit dry and slightly too salty on the outside. Cooking it with a bit more BBQ sauce might have helped lock in moisture and boost the overall flavor. The baked beans were just okay. Definitely different,no meat, but they included pineapple, which I'm still undecided about. The potato salad was also average; it wasn't clear whether it leaned more mustard- or mayo-based, and it felt like it was missing something to tie it together. Overall, a decent experience and nice atmosphere with outdoor seating, but not one that would bring me back. read more

Das BBQ is definitely a solid spot for barbecue in Atlanta. It is a little on the expensive side -- my brisket plate with two sides came to $27 -- but at least the brisket was mostly tender with very little gristle and had a nice smoke ring. The sauces on the table were a plus: I especially liked the sweet brown and the Georgia peach. For sides, I went with the cole slaw and the corn. The slaw was crisp and fresh, while the corn leaned a little too salty for my taste. The setting adds to the experience -- there's a great outdoor patio that looks perfect for groups or a low-key date night, and the smaller dining room has TVs, comfortable seating, and a familiar, relaxed vibe. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the whole visit smooth. Overall, 4 stars. Leaving that fifth star off just because the pricing feels a bit high, but it's still a spot I'd come back to for quality barbecue. read more

Good barbecue but I've had better. I love BBQ places that have 3 sauce and they only had 2. They were also out of brisket an hour before closing time. Sad. Wish I could've tried. I got the sausage and pulled pork. Pork was great. Sausage a little rubbery. Mac and cheese was actually phenomenal. Baker beans yum but big pieces of pineapple which I don't like. The chicken wings I didn't need. Too dry. Lots of meat on them tho. The banana pudding was bad. A little butter even. Weird soft top and then mushy and gross at the bottom. We decided to try something new and we kept passing by this place and thinking someday we would stop in. We finally went in and got the half rack of ribs. They were delicious. They fell off the bone. On the table was two different sauces. they were amazing. But the ribs were good without having to add any other sauces. I really loved their baked beans and their potato salad. Visited DASBBQ on Monday. Ordered a Brisket Sandwich which felt and tasted like it was made last Friday. The bread was stale and the brisket was almost impossible to chew. I had to take it back to the counter only to be given another similar sandwich. DAS used to be a good, not great, but good BBQ spot in the Atlanta area. The last few visits have been disappointing for me. They have cut back on staff and are selling prepackaged sandwiches. What happened to cutting the meat and making a fresh sandwich? The office I worked for ordered a catered lunch from Das BBQ and it was way better than I expected. We ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, collard greens, potato salad and the creamed corn. I'm going to be honest, all of the food was great, but my favorite was the creamed corn. I don't know what kind of juju they put in that corn, but I ate a ridiculous amount of it, so much so that it left little room for the brisket and smoked chicken. If you need to hold down an event with great BBQ and the rare good sides, I would recommend that you try Das BBQ! read more

Man, this place has really gone down hill. Not to mention they don't know how to answer phones properly. I ordered last week, was in a hurry so ordered online and picked up my food and when i got to my destination i was able to finally open my bag. Immediately dove into the brunswick stew. was very disappointed. was really looking for a STEW and got a paste and/or a tapenade. Not a huge fan of that. Called in about it and tried to speak to someone and guess he got annoyed with me explaining to him what a stew was and hung up. No if, and or buts about it! What I personally need from a good bbq place is good brisket, good ribs, and Mac and cheese. This place has 2 out of the 3... Great st.Louis ribs that are well seasoned and fall off the bone and nice fatty brisket (depends on the cut). The Mac and cheese could be better but the service is top notch and super quick! Got food for the 4th. Been here many times. The BBQ was really good. The Macaroni and cheese was good. Stew was kinda off today. I am not sure whose idea it was to put huge chunks of potato in it. Different BBQ sauces were interesting. Hog mop was very vinegary. Not my favorite. Ga Peach Sweet mustard. 8/10. If you don't like regular mustard you won't like this sauce. Southeast Sweet was more ketchupy, still slight vinegar taste but definitely paired well with the Ga Peach Sweet Mustard. 8/10 Southeast Sweet + GA Peach Sweet Mustard= 9/10 sauce combo Service was good and friendly. Overall I loved my meal! Visited at 7pm on a Saturday night and plenty of free parking in the back. You order at the front counter then sit down. They informed us they were out of ribs, brisket, and sausage which was a bummer. I had wanted to try the brisket. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich which comes with a side (chips, baked beans, slaw), I opted for beans and they were delicious. Also ordered a side of mac and cheese for $5. The food was delicious! PARKING - Easy to find parking in a few spots but imagine during a busy time it may be difficult. ATMOSPHERE - The smell is great as soon as you exit your car. I love the walk up style bbq and everything flowed nicely to the drink station. Unlimited refills and napkins and sauces on the table. STAFF - The staff are super friendly and give off a vibe like we have been friends for years. It wasn't just a order and move to the next person type experience. Everyone worked together well and seemed like they really enjoyed their job and providing good food. FOOD - The food was pretty good BBQ for Georgia. I am not a fan of the mushy wet bbq pulled pork style that comes from a crockpot that many in this state claim is the best. I like the smoked, dry rub, Texas style with good bark type que. The brisket was pretty good, maybe 3rd or 4th best in the state that I have had. The wings were pretty good. They had a good smoke flavor. I would say 4th or 5th best that I have had. The corn was decent. One of the workers brought a free slice of Turkey for us to try which was amazing. PRICE - The reason for not giving 5 stars is the price and the amount of food you get. We got two brisket sandwiches, 12 wings, 2 drinks and small order of corn and it was $70 with a tip. Atlanta area is pricey with their que but here in north GA at a comparable place it would have been $48 or less. I felt like the small thing of corn for $5 was pretty pricey and really did not enjoy you could not get a 2 meat meal. Everything was ala carte. Went here once a few years ago and it was good. However, the previous two times I went before tonight, the door was locked well before closing time (45 min in the last instance). The guy inside was giving me the "cut-throat" sign as I tried to open the door. I guess that means they were out of what I wanted....which is crazy because I wasn't sure of what I wanted. Tonight, I did an online order early in the evening so I stood a chance of actually getting food. Went in, picked up my order, got back to work (15 min away), opened the bag (which was stapled shut)..... No sauce, no silverware, no napkins. The biggest problem here is, their bbq isn't good enough to stand alone without sauce. I was also surprised how little pulled pork was on the sandwich. I called and asked if there was supposed to be these things in the to go bag (again, the bag was stapled shut when I got there). The guy who answered said yes they were. However, didn't offer to bring these things to me. Didn't offer a free dessert on the next visit. Didn't offer to make it right in any way. Done with this place. Probably for the best. The bbq isn't great and they are overpriced. They are however, convenient to downtown. My guess would be convenience is what keeps them in business.....all the city folk who have no idea what good bbq is have a place to eat bbq. read more

Yum yum yum! If you are looking for live music on a Friday and some great bbq I love this place! The workers are kind and they have a decent beer selection. We got brisket, ribs, and the normal sausage (they ran out of the spicy one) they were all great, personally the brisket was my favorite you didn't even need a knife to cut it. Ok- the sides!!! My poor fiancé barely got a bite of the mac and the creamed corn. I scarfed it down so fast it was so good. The collards on the other hand were a little too spicy and just not what I was looking for. Let's keep it real, on a southern road trip we knew Atlanta wasn't the place to get BBQ, but we decided to try it. DAS BBQ boats itself as THE BEST BBQ in the state. So we decided to try it, instead of waiting until we arrive in Houston, Dallas and Memphis. Staff is super friendly. The meat is cooked to perfection. The sides and sauces are super heavy on the vinegar and tart flavor profile. If you like that, this is the place for you. If they did have 1 sweet sauce, a peach based sauce, but for us, it was overly sweet. We tried all the sauces. The flavors are very unique and by our tastes a bit unbalanced and overly tart or on the other extreme, overly sweet with the peach sauce. The staff was so nice though. read more

I'm not usually the type to leave a negative review but I went here and had a brisket sandwich and a two meat platter and my food was very much lukewarm. The flavor was there in the meat was very good, but I felt like the food should have been hotter like it had been sitting there all day no smoke from the grill no fresh food so I don't think I'll be returning.
