I love coming here for their Fruit Teas and Roasted Oolong MT! Their boba is always very chewy and warm whenever I get it. Their cups always have the cutest designs too! My name is Captain Shepherd (cap), and this is my favorite boba store in the world - yes, the entire world! That being said, I don't really drink boba and I haven't really tried the boba here and I honestly can't really judge boba. Though the deals are often pretty good and I've been told by others that the boba is solid. Why is it my favorite? Because for reasons completely unknown to my desiccated yet somehow still smooth brain, this place has absolutely amazing food. The chicken nuggets are incredibly juicy, hot, and has tons of meats inside. Furthermore, the dipping sauces are unique (many different kinds) and generally each of them are solid, including the house special sauce. I'm generally not a fan of fried chicken at boba places - often too much fried and not enough chicken when the two need to blend together in harmony like that turtle from Kung Fu Panda (which I watched this week so it'll be my personality for 3.5 more days) - but this fried chicken was fantastic! The sandwich specials are also just extremely good. For a pretty low price (I remember like $6 or so), you get essentially a xxx melt (I think the beef sandwich is basically a tastier, Cantonese version of a patty melt) alongside a bunch of pretty good fries. Honestly, this is much tastier, fresher, and even cheaper (at this point) than almost any actual fast food option. Like if you want a cheap, fast burger - Twinkle Tea is unironically the best place in the LA area to go. Furthermore, you can dip the fries in their fancy sauces - AND their selection of sandwiches is pretty unique, a lot of stuff you wouldn't see at most places. Also, you can get chicken nuggets for pretty cheap and they're solid. All in all, this is more or less my favorite place in the LA area for cheap burger meals. When I'm in the Alhambra area, this is one of my go to boba spot. I really like their brown sugar milk tea with boba. I get it with full sugar and it's still not overly sweet. The boba is always warm and chewy. I also always have to order their waffle puff. It is so good and taste so authentic. I've had their chicken nuggets too and they were tasty. I like that they have a rewards program. You collect points for every dollar spent. I feel that every two visits, I'm always getting a $5 reward. Drove past many times and finally decided to come and check it out. There is usually a line at night and we came in with a very short line. Ordered a Mango Lemonade Slush and HK Lemon Iced Tea. Waited a few minutes and the drink was ready. Mango Lemonade 2.5/5: It was watered down but it may be because I ordered it as a slush, but it wasn't very lemonade-y and the mango tasted very syrupy. Didn't even finish the drink. HK Iced Lemon Tea 2.5/5: It was very dark in color, but it didn't taste like the classic HK lemon iced tea. I don't think they used the right tea bag for the drink and that's why it fell short. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things, but I may want to give it one more try one day. read more

Went last night. First time visiting and I wanted to come because my friend was craving brick toast and they were open late, which was perfect since we wanted to visit after our movie. He said they did a great job balancing a toasty outside, but soft and moist inside on the toast. I was happily eating their takoyaki. Great flavor, very generous with the bonito flakes and sauce! Was hoping they'd be crispy, but with all that sauce, it'd be pretty difficult. Still delicious even soggy. He enjoyed his mango black tea with boba and I loved the lychee lemonade. I tasted more lychee than lemonade, but that's fine because I like lychee more anyway! I liked ordering from a touch screen because it helps me keep track of everything. Less likely to forget stuff. Plus, it takes some of the work off their employees. Who were very nice! I also talked to their manager or maybe owner? If it's your first time here and you haven't checked out what they have, it may take you longer to decide what to order, especially if you want something different. They have very cute cup designs. If they have cup covers instead of the sealing, I would consider saving the cup. Just too cute! I got the Cheese Four Seasons Oolong Tea and the Fluffy Jasmine Green Tea. My friend and I were walking along Valley after dinner at Ipoh Kopitiam, and I stumbled upon Twinkle Tea, a boba location that I've neither heard of or tried. I saw a poster ad outside that they have HK Lemon Iced Tea and HK Style Milk Tea (HK = Hong Kong) for $2.99 - how can you beat that in 2022?! I ordered a HK Style Milk Tea with agar boba at half sweetness, and I was impressed. I've tried many locations make HK Style Milk Tea, and it often comes out too sweet or too bitter, but Twinkle Tea does it just right at half sugar. All my expectations were met, and I also enjoyed their cups and graphics. Parking here is facile, since there is a medium sized lot that is mostly empty at night. If not, there is also parking across the street at a larger plaza. ------ As an aside, I sorted some recent Yelp reviews and before ordering noticed something in common: Most of the lower reviews are people hating on the Brown Sugar Milk Tea. This leads me to have two responses: (1) I hope no one orders this expecting a different result within a week... unless of course they didn't read the Yelp Reviews before coming, or... Lately, I have been craving popcorn chicken, and I have always wanted to give this local boba shop a try. I ordered a mild popcorn chicken, and I chose their signature + sweet chili sauces as my condiments (it is a $.50 surcharge for another sauce). This popcorn chicken was delicious! The breading was SO CRISPY, and the meat was juicy. The scent was strong of many herbs. It reminded me a lot of spicy curry. The mildness of the chicken was just the right amount of spice. There is definitely lots of that salty flavor in here but the chicken paired AMAZINGLY with the sweet chili sauce. The sweetness balanced out the saltiness of the chicken, and it was just perfection. After a lackluster experience at a noodle restaurant just down the street (aside: a restaurant I first visited 20 years ago that has gone WAY downhill....) my kids wanted boba drinks to offset the brine-poisoning from various pho, ramen, fish sauce and peanut-based dips dredged by hand-held appetizers. As we headed east on Valley, there was no shortage of boba places-- we had never tried Twinkle, so we.... Drove right past it. And then, after four right turns around the block, we pulled into... well, there should be a parking lot here, but instead we're going the wrong way into a drive through drinking water place... and the four spots behind Twinkle have cars in them... jeez, Ok it's Sunday and the bank is closed, let's just park here.... With the car parked, we masked up and went inside. Most of the seating was stacked high along the narrow corridor between the prep-kitchen and the front glass, heading back towards the gender neutral restroom. The menu is substantial-- no, not the chalk-written one; the printed one taped to the window and the counter in front of the register. Too many choices for my kids, so the really nice young man behind the counter made a few recommendations for my indecisive offspring, to go with my boba nai cha. Waited a couple of minutes while they prepped and sealed the drinks, and took them to go. Maybe we got lucky or maybe they're that good... but in a word: WOW. The strawberry smoothie, and the chocolate banana drinks my kids ordered were really good! Perfectly blended and still ice cold yet viscous enough to allow those perfectly cooked sweet boba to do their thing in the big straw. As for my milk tea, I happen to enjoy the drink most when it's not too sweet and the black tea is strong. My drink had BOTH of these awesome qualities, and while I didn't ask for it any special way, their menu version right off the assembly line was (hyperbole alert) one of the best I've ever had. Sure, parking here on busy Valley Blvd. is interesting, but worth a few non-ballistic motions to get here.
