Been coming to this tea shop since 2019 and I love it! I used to really drive out from Burbank to Alhambra just to go here, but since I met my partner who lives down the street, we're here a lot of the time haha Love that it stays open late too, perfect for some late night cravings. I enjoy the different types of drinks they have to offer and the hot food is good too! My partner loves the fried tofu especially. Updating my review. I gave them 5 stars and still sticking with 5 lol! Just wanted to update that I got the Tea Float which is milk tea with ice cream. I got the Roasted Oolong milk tea with 0% sugar and half a splash of hazelnut -- and I REALLY enjoyed it! This is more for people who like that coffee-request flavor profile. I also (as mentioned in my prev post) don't like things too sweet so for others they might want 25 or 50% sweetness, BUT keep in mind the ice cream AND the hazelnut syrup also add sweetness. I also wanted to add that I appreciate that they have at least some food options (beyond just finger foods) and that's nice when I'm trying to get my boba and a bite to save time. read more

This review is long due for how often I come. I really love their Twinkle fruit tea here. The drink comes with a good amount of fresh fruits inside (strawberry, kiwi, and i think mango?) . They usually try to layer the fruits to make it look prettier too, almost rainbow like! I used to order this drink in regular sweet, but recently started trying to cut down on sugar. I have tried both 75 and 50% sugar, and the tea still tastes good! My partner usually orders their thai tea, but he recommended getting it normal sweetness, since doing 75% once ruined the flavor for him. Their boba is decent, not the best, but the prices are cheap compared to many other boba shops we often visit. Their popcorn chicken was okay. It's not great or terrible, but mine came pretty soggy even though I ate it immediately in the car. Perhaps it will taste better if I buy it in person after the pandemic. Their egg waffles have the right flavor I look for when I make it myself or order it from places, but sometimes it comes soggy too. During covid, we usually order and pick up, and they are always on time with the time estimate they give us. Their parking lot is small, but it's not hard to find a spot. They are pretty fast with their drinks, so the line is usually short and moves very quickly. read more

Lots of options here at this boba spot - it was a little overwhelming at first! With all the drink and snack options, there's a good chance everyone in your party will find something they want (we went with a group of 7). That being said, the overall consensus was that the drinks were decent. Some were a little too sweet, and some were too weak in flavor, but everyone still enjoyed their drinks. The boba was soft and delicious this time around, so that was nice. We've come here multiple times and found the quality to be inconsistent even when ordering the same drinks with the same adjustments. Sometimes it's fantastic, and sometimes it's just alright like this time. I personally got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba (half sweet). It felt like there was something missing in terms of the blending of the ingredients, but I still enjoyed it. Any sweeter, and it would've been too sweet (at least for me). For example, I find most drinks at places like Starbucks to be too sweet. Service was friendly and helpful. They had mixed up one of the drinks but were very polite about getting it fixed right away. The drink I got was life changing honestly (Lychee Smoothie w/ Mango Jelly), every aspect of it was something different and new. I didn't expect the mango jelly to be in a star shape, but that just made it even better. Furthermore, they have a variety of drinks, just make sure you get something delicious. Over the last 4 years their formula seems to have also changed, and lost the true brown sugar flavor. Regardless, I still come here because I like their boba and the Thai tea sea salt! 4 stars I've been to this and Pasadena's location a couple of times each. Their drinks have always been consistent and reliable. My go-to drink has always been their Thai tea at 75% sugar and less sugar. This trip, I decided to try their Sea Salt Thai Tea at 50% sugar, no ice, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (extra $1). Twinkle Brown Sugar is the place for a great overall experience. Drinks, food, service, affordability, and ambiance is a great blend of what you want. After coming here for a long time, I think TBS has stuck to its authenticity in serving the community. Drinks are all super good and it isn't watered down like how other places do it. My favorites are a rose lychee green tea, lemon tea, and brown sugar fluffy coffee, Their menu is so expansive so I'm sure you'll find something you will like. The food is also really good. Their takoyaki is my favorite and it's as close to getting them at Little Tokyo without fighting traffic and for parking. Not to mention, it is actually not super expensive, and it's at a fair price. Service here is a hit or miss but I think its pretty standard for a boba shop. You order, you pick it up, and you leave. Before COVID-19, studying here has also been a hit or miss. If you come before 3 pm, it's fairly empty and you can study. After 3 pm, it gets quite loud. So depending on how you work, TBS is a mix of reviews. Discovered Twinkle Brown Sugar on an evening walk. Shocked that they were still open after 9pm. The sweet smell of sugar and baked goods wafting out from the open doors drew us in. We ordered the marshmallow sweet butter toast to go. We warmed up our treat in the toaster oven when got home, drizzled the cream and chocolate topping, and dug in. Super sweet, super delicious. A big enough portion where we could have easily split the toast among 4 people. We would have loved to have a treat and enjoy the space. The small shop was well lit, with cool light fixtures, and numerous games available. I can see, under normal circumstances, how this might be a popular hang out location. Twinkle Tea is a good dependable option for boba. It doesn't necessarily have the craziest, most innovative drinks, or the most unique branding/cups. However, it is very solid in what it produces, and I appreciate that it always seems to be open whenever other stores are not. I usually order something different everytime, since they have such a large number of drinks, but I definitely want to shout out their "Happy Hour" deal, which is their HK Style Milk Tea that is crazy cheap (Well at least for Boba nowadays). My girlfriend is also a fan of their fries, which come with some nice dipping sauces that actually seem to be homemade? (At least the Sweet & Sour/Signature sauces seem to be). I have noticed that sometimes it can take a hot minute to get your drink, but it can get pretty busy at times, since it seems to be a popular spot for locals. read more

This is an ok boba shop. Drinks are ok-good. Staffs are nice. They're also one of the few boba shops that offer food. They have the fried stuff like popcorn chicken and sweets like hk egg waffle. These are the kind of stuff great to eat while hanging out! But place is small, especially since the pandemic, they only have like 2 tables inside, so not great for hanging out. Every time we come to Monterey Park we try a new boba milk tea place. This one is just a-ok. We ordered black sugar milk tea with boba and lime honey jasmine tea both under specialty. I should've read one of the reviews that said their lime honey jasmine tea was not great. It was actually pretty bad considering the price. It was diluted jasmine tea with two slices of lime. Did not taste honey at all. The black sugar milk tea was fine. Nothing spectacular but decent. Portion is reasonable for the price. But I probably won't come again since there are so many much better milk tea in the area read more

I am always on the look out for new boba places to try in the area. The San Gabriel Valley seems to have a new boba shop open every month, if not every week. I've passed by Twinkle Tea many times, but I had never ordered from here. I finally decided to give it a try. I noticed that Twinkle Tea had a food menu also. I had not had plain egg waffles in quite some time, so I ordered plain egg waffles with a Hong Kong lemon iced tea. I was feeling "old school," so to speak. I loved the simplicity of the plain egg waffles. Without having mochi, ice cream, or any powders, it was just the right amount of sweetness. Texture was quite flaky and good also. I fell in love with twinkle brown sugar when it was called OZero. I have always gotten their "Fluffy" Jasmine Green Tea, (before cheesefoam became popular) it doesnt disappoint. They have a small parking lot but I've always managed to find parking there. One of my favorite things about this place is that you get 10% if you have a Fivestar account and also 1 free topping every drink! But they don't tell you when you're ordering. They do sell a lot of food options that I haven't tried yet but their drinks are definitely worth it. Whoever the girl working the cashier telling me to take my time and explained the drink to me, you're cool. I got the Green Tea Yo-yo for $4. It sounded weird, but it was basically green tea mixed with yogurt which produced a sourish taste, and two piece of lemon inside. It was unique, and tasted sour but as you drink it it started to taste more sweet. I also ordered the house beef sandwich and it came with fries for $7.50. The beef was like a burger beef patty, had egg inside and cheese and some special dressing. Fries were crispy. Food was clean and well packed. Napkin and ketchup in the bag.
