Garage Milk Tea (Monterey Park) is not bad. I ordered the Honey Kumquat Lemon Tea ($5) with Crystal Boba (additional 50 cents). It's Jasmine Green Tea, Lemon, and Kumquat. Personally, I won't reorder it since it tastes like saccharine, sour syrup with very little tea; however, its boba is exceptional and tasty. This POPULAR spot offers CHEAP options that are above average. I arrived at Garage Milk Tea (Monterey Park) on Saturday (around 6:10PM). Parking very EASY. The lot is big; sign says, "2 Hour Parking." Customers primarily order at the self-service kiosk. Regarding Staff, the vibe felt like an Asian Fish Market Stall. Staff spoke loudly, aggressively, and jovially at times. Staff were playful to one another while Staff also talked very animatedly with other customers. My drink was completed very quickly in a few minutes. As mentioned, I'd ordered the Honey Kumquat Lemon Tea ($5) with Crystal Boba (additional 50 cents). Although I didn't enjoy the beverage, I did LOVE the boba. Unlike other budget spots, the boba is perky, playful, and bouncy. Honestly, it felt like all the other customers were only there to order the popcorn chicken. On ambiance, Garage Milk Tea (Monterey Park) is cramped and tiny. It's an order-and-leave spot. There's no tables, and there's about four tiny chairs. There's also a gender neutral customer restroom. The location mostly smells like fresh popcorn chicken, but it's a very forgettable & uncomfortable spot. Most customers were standing outside the door just waiting for their orders. Overall, Garage Milk Tea (Monterey Park) is not bad. It's perhaps one of the better CHEAP eats in the area. Unfortunately, the drinks also taste very budget and frugal. I'd perhaps have had a better experience if I'd only ordered food. Still, it's an adequate experience. I can understand why locals appreciate it. 3.8 out of 5

Hmmmm, I'm not sure how to feel about this place. Yes, the prices are lower than that of other milk tea shops. But the service is so bad I am hesitant to come back. There's usually one person handling drinks in the front and one or two in the back making the fried snacks. If you don't see anyone in the front, you have to make sure to scream because they can't hear you well. There is a kiosk to order for paying by card. The kiosk doesn't tell you if an item is sold out. The menu on the board doesn't reflect the actual prices, so it looks like they increase prices without notice. You need to ask them to unlock the bathroom. There is one stall inside this small business. The garage theme is kinda cute because there's a garage door on the wall and a few small stools. Only the mango pomelo sago drink is worth it here imo. The other drinks are meh. Popcorn chicken is usually why I'm here though.

I've been here a couple times and to be honest the drinks aren't that great. Not terrible, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. I got a jasmine green tea this time and it was just alright. What I do come here for is the food. The popcorn chicken and squid balls are actually really good. Fried well, nice Taiwanese flavor with a bit of spice, and they give solid portions for the price. I ordered 3 items and it was only $16 and it felt worth it. Came by this Saturday and called my order in ahead of time, everything was ready right when I got there which I appreciated. Also shoutout to the person who took my order, super nice. I'll probably skip the drinks next time, but the popcorn chicken and squid balls are definitely the move.

I'm here to review the popcorn chicken. It's probably one of the cheapest popcorn chicken options in the area (total: $6.62) and comes in a very generous portion. The chicken was well-seasoned and perfectly crispy. I really enjoyed it. You can also order it spicy if you prefer. I would definitely recommend it if you're just craving a quick snack. I haven't tried their drinks yet, but maybe next time when I come back for the popcorn chicken. Service was quick and efficient, and you can order either from the kiosk or directly from the cashier. This is more of a grab-and-go spot since there wasn't much seating available, either inside or outside. They do take card as well which is nice. Parking is with the plaza, so you will find a spot. Overall, delicious and great value for the price.

Visited garage milk tea. Its open even tho most of the plaza is still under construction. Very small place... pick up and go. There are no tables to sit and enjoy the drink or snacks. Option for variations of sweetness and amount of ice can be adjusted to your liking. I ordered the brown sugar boba. Pretty good.

This place has the best popcorn chicken. Perfectly crispy and actually good sized chunks of chicken rather than all batter. There is plenty of parking as it shares a plaza and the girl working there doesn't speak English very well but the guy in the kitchen can come out to help. If you speak mandarin, she's nice and helpful

Always a good visit when coming here as service is quick and efficient with the tablet ordering. Their popcorn chicken is a top tier item. I also like how they use fresh fruit for their drinks. pricing is fair and afforable. However it's a tight space for quick pickups. If you're looking for dine in, there's a restaurant next to it.

They have improved their drink and boba quality so much since last time we visited. I also appreciate that they provide biodegradable straws now. 10/10 would recommend!

Ambiance: it's a small tea shop located right next to the garage kitchen, it's a to go place and there's no sitting area inside Service: slow and impatient, the staff is a bit rude and reluctant to fix their mistake Drink: classic menu for boba tea and other drinks Signature Milk Tea - *** half sugar, add brown sugar boba, and upgrade to large size, asked for no sugar but still served with sugar, average taste Price: relatively cheaper prices compared to similar boba tea places, expect $3~$6 per drink

Haven't tried their drinks here. But their popcorn chicken is 10/10. It's $5 for a pretty substantial amount. We got medium spice and it was pretty spicy so think I'll stick to mild next time. Chicken was super crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, well seasoned and good portions especially for the price!! Yum! Would come back for the popcorn chicken next time. Interior is super small I don't think there were any tables, just a few chairs, it's more of a take-out place.

Stopped in here for a drink after having dinner next door. We ordered white peach oolong tea and golden oolong tea with boba, both at 50% sugar and less ice. I have to say, I'm surprised their oolong tea is pretty comparable to Formosa Aroma but much more affordable. This will be my go to place if I needed a good affordable tea. Service is nonexistent since we ordered from the kiosk. Although there was a guy at the front but didn't take our order. Place is very small. I would come back again to try out another drink and their popcorn chicken. I would recommend this place if you're in a budget and wanted to fulfill your boba cravings.

    Mango Sago?!
    Tiffany C.

I was disappointed in the drink! I ordered a mango sago... it didn't even have mango but at least it had sago?!!! That was so weird... I even asked the server and she said it was. The snacks were good and priced decently.

My bestie introduced me to ChaTraMue and I was so excited for their Thai Green Tea. They have a regular option and a vegan option where they use oat milk. The default topping was the agar boba which I kept on my drink and enjoyed it. Flavor was really good, and though I got one of the lower sweetness percentages, it was still pretty sweet to me. The others didn't mind too much as they didn't find theirs overly sweet. Unsure if they made a batch of the same sweetness cause most of us did get half sweet, but the flavor was still really good. They have other drinks as well, which I'd love to try if I return here. I'd also love to try their signature Thai tea as well. There's seating here and the people that work here are nice as well. Our drinks came out quickly too. We chilled here for a bit to enjoy our drinks and to avoid the heat a lil, and had a blast.

Unfortunately, the Brown Sugar Boba tasted funky. Some pearls had the flavor of soap. "Gross!!" I arrived at YOTEA (Rosemead) on Monday (around 12:16PM). Parking is simple if familiar with the area. There's a rear parking garage for customers. Staff is unmemorable and awkward. When I mentioned they mixed old and new menus together which displayed incorrect prices, Staff seemed amused and let them stay mixed. Staff avoided customer interaction whenever possible. The drink took two minutes and 10 seconds. Quick time. The Pandan Milk Drink ($5.99 - 50% Sweetness - Regular Ice) with Brown Sugar Boba (additional 80 cents) tasted artificial. It had a strong "candy milk taste," and it glowed a neon green when stirred. The first sip was pleasant, but as I continued to drink, the taste became more off-putting. Next, the Brown Sugar Boba tasted inconsistent. Some tasted perfectly fine, but others had the flavor of dishwater and gloop. I was tempted to throw it into the garbage can. Concerning ambiance, YOTEA (Rosemead) has potential. Ignoring the cobweb underneath one table & the somewhat old furniture, there's utility. This location has about 10 electrical outlets. Wow! There's also customer internet with password; the internet information is taped onto the black register. There's also a customer gender neutral restroom. YOTEA (Rosemead) is also very spacious. The ceiling is very tall, and there's many spots to sit. There's about 16 tables!! If desperate for a study/work spot, this is a decent choice. There's also upbeat, smooth music. Overall, I had a disappointing experience at YOTEA (Rosemead). There's utility and potential, but this business feels old and unmaintained. Rather than clean, Staff just chattered amongst themselves. Any passion that rang within these walls dissipated a long time ago. Currently, YOTEA (Rosemead) is simply mediocre. 2.9 out of 5
