The staff is incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, answering all our questions with a smile. The restaurant is spotless, and the Döner was fresh and outstanding. I tried both chicken and lamb and honestly couldn't decide which was better. The sauces were also delicious, and they offer Spatzi, German beer, and Stubborn soda. I do wish the place was a bit bigger for our family of six, but with food that good, I wouldn't mind standing or taking it to go, as many others seemed to be doing. Delicious and conveniently located just off the 101. Plenty of indoor seating. They also have three outdoor tables. Service was quick and helpful. Free water! Clean restroom. We ordered the salad with all the veggies and feta and the beef and lamb salad with veggies and spicy dressing. Everything was fresh and tasty. Next time i'd try the spicier dressing. I recently visited Twisted Meats and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the restaurant was incredibly clean, welcoming, and had such a friendly atmosphere. I ordered a döner kebab sandwich with beef and lamb, a chicken wrap, a beef and lamb plate over rice, french fries with feta cheese, and baklava--and every single item was outstanding. The meats were perfectly seasoned and shaved thin, the vegetables were fresh and crisp, and everything tasted incredibly authentic. The döner kebab sandwich in particular was one of the best I've ever had. You can really tell the owners take pride in their food and heritage. They are German and bake their own bread for the sandwiches, which gives everything that authentic European döner flavor that's hard to find. A special thank you to Simon, one of the owners, who was extremely professional, kind, and welcoming. I've also had the pleasure of meeting his brother Matthias before, and he is equally warm and friendly. Their hospitality really makes the whole experience even better. Twisted Meat is a very delicious Mediterranean restaurant with strong Lebanese vibes. The issue is that the ownership allows all the food delivery companies to inflate their prices by at least seven percent. On top of that inflated price you also get hit with delivery charges that are not the tip and surge fees the service adds (I have no problem with tipping the driver) . By the time you check out you can easily end up paying thirty dollars for something that would cost eighteen dollars if you picked it up yourself. I would prefer that the company take a stand and create its own delivery service, which would remove the need for customers to pay an excessive amount for simple street food. Read the reviews on Yelp and I was in Newbury Park this morning so I decided to check it out. I'm really glad I did! I ordered the wrap with beef/lamb protein. They shave the spiraling spits of meaty goodness with an electric razor like device; I've seen other places use a knife, this is pretty unique, and makes the meat very thin and uniformly cut. I came at 11:30 and was one of the first customers. I was greeted by a cheerful guy and sat so I could view the food preparation. The staff were friendly and handled a busy rush with only two people working, which I appreciated. However, there were several small issues that stood out. First, the cash vs. card discount felt unnecessary and a little confusing. Honestly it just comes across as an odd policy in this day and age. There were also too many add-ons that made the menu feel cluttered and the total bill higher than expected. Most restaurants would just provide either a percentage off for cash discount, and not include it all over the entire menu, it just made it feel like there was an up charge for literally everything. The soda machine was working, but the item we wanted was out, and my husband's food came with onions despite asking for none. They did fix issues quickly, so I'll give credit for that. It did seem, though, that there was some miscommunication between the person taking orders and the person making food. Another small improvement would be to label sandwiches more clearly. when they're packed full, it's hard to tell whether you've got chicken or beef until you bite in. The food is good, but it's expensive for what you get, even compared to other local spots. Would I go again? I don't know.... This new spot is a must try if you're craving a good wrap or protein bowl. I'd been hearing really good things about this new spot and Twisted Meats does not disappoint! The restaurant itself is easy to find, located in a busy shopping center, I appreciated their signage was large and colorful, making it easy to find. Parking was scarce on a weekend but thankfully I nabbed a spot not too far away. The restaurant is order at the counter style but they did have a good amount of seating for dining in options. I opted to take my meal Togo so I can't speak to the dining in atmosphere but happy that the restaurant was very clean and organized in appearance. Being my first time it was pretty easy to read the signage to figure out how to customize your order. Lars was behind the counter and helped me with my order. He was very friendly and personable. I appreciated his patience while I looked over the menu and I also was grateful he gave little tweaks of suggestions to upgrade my meal. I went with the lamb/beef doner wrap. I added lettuce, onion, and cucumber. He suggested feta which was a perfect upgrade for a topping. Added original sauce and I was all set. The pricing is reasonable for the portions and it's a healthy tasty meal so again, a good value. The food was really delicious! I totally get why this spot is 5 stars on yelp. The meat was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The ingredients tasted very fresh and the wrap was easy to eat, not messy. I'd definitely say the meat is the star and would likely add extra protein next time just to help balance out the toppings. All in all a really stellar bite and meal. Wow, just wow! We tried this for our first time today, it won't be our last. Even though the menu literally spells out how to order, we weren't sure and each ordered the Donor sandwich with the combo of beef and lamb, went for all the veggies, and the original sauce. My brother ordered a side of lavash chips, and when they brought out our lunch, the owner went back in and brought us out one of each type of sauce as this was our first time. Our eyes popped when we realized we could have shared a sandwich, however we each persevered and brought home half. The sandwich is completely stuffed with veggies and meat and the bread is made with a German flour so you are not weighed down after eating (even a half). The lavash chips were flavorful and crispy thin. Of course we realized we had to try the Baklava, and shared an order (brought home the extra). Apparently they ran out of rice (12;15PM), so the manager came over and said they'd make a salad and have rice in 10 minutes..Fine. Half an hour later with no rice, my daughter told them never mind.They gave her $3 (on a $20 meal) and a half-assed apology. Had I spoken with them, I'd have told them to keep the 3 bucks.
