Green Tea and Lavender Lemonade, along with cookie dough mouse.
    Thomas P.

I was in the mood for noodles, and my wife and I were intrigued by the notion of "healthy" foods. I don't think there was anything particularly "terrible" about the place, but I guess I could sum it up by saying I was underwhelmed. First off, the place is tucked away a little inside a business plaza, but there's a helpful sign right on Main Street to give you an idea where. I got excited when I got in initially, because of the Stubborn Soda fountain machine near the registers. My excitement quickly turned to disappointment, because the actual dispensers are all Pepsi products. Kind of wish they would get rid of the Stubborn Soda signage, since the pictures from other Yelpers of the fountain were one of the things that made me decide on the place. From what the employee mentioned, it does sound like the Stubborn folks were - ahem - stubborn about providing the sodas in a timely manner. I think it's a trend, because the soda shop down the street had a similar situation with the fountain setup. I guess my other gripe with this is, for a place billing themselves as healthy, maybe nix the sodas with high fructose. Ordering experience was fine - food came out quick. I was kind of surprised that they charge for additional dressing (it's really worth a $1 up charge?). In general, the food was fine, just seemed a bit overpriced for the quantity and quality. It did take a while to get someone's attention in the back after I had to go back and grab a third fork. The plastic forks my wife was using kept breaking at the sporks. Surprising and a little dangerous. Maybe invest in real utensils? Here's what my wife and I got to eat and drink: 1) Ahi Tuna Salad (add chicken) - There wasn't a whole lot of Ahi Tuna in this thing. Also, adding chicken for $2 doesn't get you much actual chicken, FYI. My wife wasn't sure which dressing she wanted so we got a second one. She liked it better, but $1 for dressing, really? 2) Teriyaki noodle bowl with chicken (add tofu) - Same concerns about not a large portion of protein. The noodles were plentiful and somewhat flavorful, although the sauce tends to collect on the bottom of the bowl, so the first several bites were a little dry. 3) Ginger tea - For some unfathomable reason, they decided to make this tea heavily flavored with cinnamon. It was gross. Kind of annoying because the sign didn't say ANYTHING about cinnamon, and when I asked the employee about that, she was like "yeah they flavor it with cinnamon". Probably a good idea to reference that on the sign. Fortunately, she was able to swap it out. I did offer to pay the upcharge for a Lavender Lemonade, and she took me up on that. 4) Lavender Lemonade - didn't taste anything like lavender. It was basically a normal lemonade, but purple. Fine, but not worth $3.50 5) Some sort of black tea - my wife got it and I tried a few sips. Fine but unremarkable. 6) Cooke Dough Mouse - It was okay, but I didn't like the texture much 7) Some sort of vegan cookie - Just kind of crumbly and bland I gravitated between 2 and 3 stars on this one and went with the lesser. I'm not seeing the hype. I just feel like there are other "healthy" fast casual places that are a better value, and with better food / drink options.

It's a little difficult to find if you're in the parking structure, but if you park on the street, it's right there. I loved all the quotes around the walls though, super cute and inspiring. I had the teriyaki bowl and it was delicious! I love quinoa and that it was vegan. The staff was nice and helpful. I would definitely go again and try something new.

    Cheddar cheeseburger with chips

Incorrect order, but still yummy. Ordered ahead for pick up and it was ready within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until I got home to eat that I had the wrong burger! Their basic cheddar cheeseburger was still good though. I was disappointed I didn't get to try the truffle chips (especially since those are an additional cost) but their original chips are also good. Overall, probably wouldn't order to-go again. Would recommend ordering in person to ensure you have the correct order.

Beautiful set up & delicious lunch

This was a great find! I always see recommendations for it, they are correct, this is a great lunch spot! Salads, wraps, pastas & amazing flavored lemonades! The desserts were kept so a bit off in flavor. But personally I've tried making similar desserts & it's quite complex. We got the Alfredo & pesto pasta, both delicious and so light. Great portion for a solid carbo load & a great meal to share for a lighter fare. Next time I'm trying the ahi salad or enchilada bowl. The menu had great ingredients.

Cute little eatery, very nice staff! We were in St. George for a couple days and I went here to pick up lunch. Food ordered, twisted noodle with chicken, which was basically pesto pasta with chicken. And then the barbecued chicken salad, which was good, I didn't realize there was corn on there, yuck. Not their fault, I realize many people like corn, I just think on cold salad it's weird and like polygamy should be outlawed. Next time I'll remember to ask if there's corn on a barbecue chicken salad. And my husband got the harvest salad with double chicken which he said was really good.

    Green Chile Bacon Power Bowl

Clean place, albeit a bit crowded with the seating. Staff was very helpful with helping diners choose items and getting food out in a timely manner. Food was delicious. I would definitely order the power bowl again as well as want to work my way through the rest of the menu. The wraps and other menu items looked delicious. There seems to be enough variety that all of your party should be able to find something. Our group ranged from adventurous to very picky and we each were able to order confidently. As the only drawback here was seating (small tables, not a lot of room), considering ordering food to go.

This place ALWAYS hits the spot! The portions are BIG and I feel good eating this food. There are so many healthier options and my kids LOVE their Mac and Cheese. The lemonades are a must and I'm ashamed to say I never have room for any of the desserts! Try to save room because they always look so yummy!!

Enchilada bowl made vegan with tofu, hold the cheese. Teriyaki bowl made vegan with tofu.

We searched for nearby vegan restaurants. This place came up and was rated well. We weren't impressed with the taste out quality of the food. It was mostly quinoa/rice with a few speckles of veggies and tofu. Paying extra for tofu was a joke. Tofu is so inexpensive. Much less than meat and there was barely any tofu in it at all. The glaciers were mediocre. Not bad but not really good either. We were so hungry from our long drive that we scarfed it down anyway. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because they were, nice, quick, got our order right, had vegan options and it wasn't terrible tasting. And is in a cute area. We'd go again if there were no other options.

We adore slipping away for lunch and settling onto the patio, where the world softens--shade drapes gently overhead, birds sing as if they've been hired just for the occasion, and time... well, time slows down enough to breathe. The service is nothing short of immaculate--attentive in that quiet, effortless way that makes you feel seen without ever being interrupted. And the food... oh, the food. The bacon-wrapped dates must have been crafted in heaven... or perhaps meant for the gods and somehow gifted to us. The tuna melt was so transcendent I found myself wondering if I had ever truly tasted tuna before... or if I had just been living a lesser version of the experience all along. And the beef bourguignon... my heavens. It was as if your grandmother--if she were also a five-star chef--had been waiting for you, simmering something rich and soulful to welcome you back after a long journey. Even the tea felt royal... and the mocktails were so delightful, so thoughtfully made, that not once did we miss the alcohol. The Painted Pony isn't just a meal... it's a return.

Tucked into the Tower Building, this New American restaurant nails the Southwestern-meets-fine-dining vibe: intimate indoor seating with contemporary regional art, fresh flowers, and soft lighting, plus a charming patio for when the weather cooperates. It feels romantic and relaxed without being stuffy--perfect for date night or a special occasion while visiting southern Utah.c91b9be2267e Service was attentive and friendly without hovering. Our server knew the menu well and made solid wine recommendations (they've got a nice list, and no-corkage Mondays are a nice touch if you BYO from a Utah store). Portions are generous for the price point--definitely not the tiny-plate nonsense you sometimes get at fine-dining spots. We started with the carrot jalapeño soup (bright, flavorful, and a nice kick) and the baked brie, which was rich and perfectly paired with the seasonal chutney and crostini. For mains, the bone-in pork chop and the hanger steak were highlights--well-cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor from the fresh ingredients and thoughtful sauces. The sides (mac & cheese and haricot verts) were solid too. We finished with the key lime pie, which was a bright, creamy winner. One note, though: pass on the crab cakes. They're a menu staple (around $16, served with something like pomegranate salsa or poblano aioli depending on the season), but ours were mostly filler with a noticeably fishy taste. Not worth the spot on the table when there are so many stronger starters and entrées.781e4d Overall, we'd happily return to The Painted Pony. It's one of the better fine-dining options in St. George--great atmosphere, strong service, and mostly excellent food at reasonable prices for what you get. Just skip the crab cakes and you'll have a winner of a meal. 4/5 stars. Recommended for visitors and locals alike. Reservations advised, especially on weekends.

When we arrived we waited for the host and informed him we had a 10:15 reservation. Despite there being multiple empty tables, he informed us we would not be able to be seated until closer to our reservation which threw me off. We were seated around our reservation time and given some time to look at the menu. Our server was very helpful and kept checking in on us to see if we had any questions or if we were ready to order. She did take the time to inform us that we should order before a big party as our meal would take longer if we waited. We ordered buttermilk biscuits to share and I ordered the arrival of the sun (two eggs your way, bacon or sausage, potatoes, and country bread). The buttermilk biscuits were brought to us first and were 2 large fluffy biscuits served with butter and jam. The butter was good quality and jam was made in house, but was slightly runny, but overall a delicious combo. The arrival of the sun arrived shortly after and was a large portion. The potatoes were my personal favorite, seasoned and crispy! Wood ash rye is in a hotel in downtown St. George. The hotel itself has valet parking that is $22. However, if you arrive early enough you are able to find parking on the street, just make sure you look out for any parking signs. The inside of wood ash rye is small, but they offer an outside bar, several large tables in the center, and booths off to the side. In addition, they have a bar just outside the restaurant. They did have a sign posted that dogs are welcome on the patio which is a plus! -1 star for service for reservation time and empty tables
