I am embarrassed that I actually paid for this. Dont order the millionaire! This was gross, covered in salty af fried onions. Once you get through the layer of onions, you get the driest piece of "wagyu" I have ever experienced. The burger tasted burnt and extremely bitter. I could not finish this. A typical sports bar with a few differences. I have never heard of having fried carrots and green beans with a burger. But, once you get past that you deal with the sports on TV and the loud crowd. Definitely not a place for a quiet meal. The food was a little dry but edible. The wait staff doesn't check on you at all. So, if you have an problem, you have to go up to the counter. If you're looking for a great place to have a burger with friends or family, this should definitely be at the top of the list. I visited Twisted Root for the first time a couple nights ago. Other than the food being DEVINE, I have some other points that really made the experience a great one. Firstly, the location is great if you live close to ACU since it is at Allen Ridge. With that, there is a lawn area for little kids to play around while the food is being prepared. Second, the pop culture references for customer names were a very clever and unique idea and was fun to hear the different names being called over the speakers when the orders were ready. Third, the patio seating was great as well, where you could look out and see the pond or check on the kids playing on the lawn. With all of these factors, I see many more visits and more money spent at this restaurant. read more

The burgers are delicious but the service is awful. I come here occasionally after a night shift at work because it is one of the few places that stays open late and has yummy food. I came in on two different occasions at 10:30pm (which is an hour and a half before close) and each time, I got MAJOR attitude from the girl taking my order & the guy that works behind the bar. The girl acts like she hates the world and doesn't even hardly speak up or look at you when you are ordering. I will definitely never order a bar drink again either because each time I do, the dude with the backwards hat acts like it's the biggest inconvenience of his life & rolls his eyes and scoffs the entire time he makes the drink. I've been going over to Fuzzies now on my late nights and they are so sweet and give amazing service every time :) read more

Service was good. We ordered Togo. Food was not good, especially when considering the price. Ordered the fried green beans and carrots. Got one carrot and the rest of the order was soggy green beans that were clumped together with the breading falling apart/not covering the green beans(no ranch included). Paid for honey mustard and did not receive any. The classic burger was "fine" and the fries were good. They didnt put any lettuce or tomato on it(but that may have been our fault for not clicking the button and adding it--we thought it came with it lol). On the bright side the chicken club was pretty good. It didnt have all of the items it was supposed to come with, but overall it was enjoyed. Sadly I cannot in good faith recommend the Vega bond. The patty was thrown on the bun with a lack of care or flavor. It was barely a patty. It was more like rice and beans squished together with no flavoring but salt. This was seriously the saltiest burger i've ever had. There was no sriracha or hummus flavor either:( the lettuce and tomato were nowhere to be found on this burger. The bun was the best part, especially since the patty was smaller than the roll. Pretty disappointing, would not go back. read more

This restaurant was a recommendation and we order several meals. I ordered The Western burger $10.50 with hand punched fries $3.50. We ordered onion strings $4 for the table. We also ordered the Yessir tee Cobb $11 salad and SOB salad $10 and the Kid burger and fries $7 the food was served hot and the entire meal was very good and tasty. The restaurant is basically self serve as you order at the bar/counter then find an available table inside or outside. You self serve your drinks at a refill station and pick up your food once the pager goes off. The restaurant could go a better job cleaning the front door glass and the door glass to the patio. They were nasty and greasy from all the patrons entering and exiting. The men's bathroom had no paper towels for drying hands and could have used a good cleaning. read more

My husband and I ordered The Western Burger and added a runny egg. To me for the price I have had better burgers and paid a lot less. It was dry and my egg was over cooked. Everything is individually priced so that bill can get pretty high before you know it. I did love the pickle bar and the outside patio is pretty cool and relaxing. I will try it again once they have been open for a while. read more

My husband got the Hangover with fried chicken and I ordered the kale salad with chicken and we shared onion strings. He really enjoyed his sandwich and it was really big. My salad was good but it was swimming in way too much dressing. I had to ask for another bowl to try to pour off some of the excess. The onion strings had good flavor as well.
