My wife and I had a few minutes in between flights and stopped at Twisted Root Burger right next to our gate. It is a place we had never seen or heard of before so we decided to give it a try. Neither of us were very hungry but we wanted a little snack. She got an order of straight cut french fries which were fine though they needed a little more salt. I ordered the onion rings and found them to be spectacular. We both got a Coca Cola and since they came in the bottle they are really hard to mess up. Had a layover at DFW airport, and we wanted burgers and milkshakes. We couldn't have been happier. The food was delicious...we had Shroom burger and all American Burgers with Cookies and Cream Milkshakes. Beef was tender and came with lettuce and tomatoes. Sorry, I was so hungry that I figure to take a photo of the burger. Samia had a big smile and brought our order to the table, even through we were supposed to pick it up at the counter... What wonderful service! The restaurant was a great place for a simple meal that was filling. Sports on TV with subtitles... Thankfully, it was not overly noisy. I'd definitely come back. Had a flight in the A gates and was searching for anything that wasn't suuuuuper overpriced but still tasty. Fortunately I made a good choice and stopped by here. I ordered the only chicken option for a sandwich since I was feeling something lighter. And for the price $12ish, they really packed it with chicken, bacon, and avocado! Would absolutely recommend if stuck in DFW. Also they have a soda fountain so I could keep getting all the free ice cold water I wanted. Plenty of seating and a full bar, too! read more

Twisted root burger This place would not have been my first choice for breakfast in the airport but I gave it a try because the line was SUPER SHORT and the pics on the menus looked decent. The wait staff taking orders, collecting payments, & handing customers their orders were spectacular! One lady had my order being cooked and entire 2-3 minutes before I even paid for it. My meal was prepared quickly... before I could even choose a table to sit at. Once back to my table, I began to eat my egg sandwich. It was prepared exactly how I asked for it to be prepared, but the bun was a bit greasy. The tater tots were saturated with oil and were NOT very appetizing! They made their way to the trash receptacle! That meal was definitely a waste of $20! Marium and her co-worker most definitely made this visit acceptable.... If it hadn't been for their great attitudes so early in the morning... this review would've gone sideways in a hurry! Just goes to show what good customer service does for people's attitudes. Good food, what I would expect from twisted root. Coca-Cola products, but I get it, we are at the airport. I was sad that there were not fried green beans. I would advise you pick a different restaurant rather than eat at Twisted Root. The only reason this review is not one star is because the staff was friendly enough and the burger was mediocre (at best). The price for what you get is not worth it. My total for a burger, fries, and a drink was $28. That was for one of their cheaper burgers. The fries were extremely bland with no seasoning whatsoever. Even two packets of salt could not provide flavor to these sad, sad, fries. Seek sustenance elsewhere. read more

While waiting to board my flight home, I decided to get a burger from this place. The establishment was clean to be in such a busy environment. How ever Customer service was not the best I'm not sure if the young male taking orders was overwhelmed. I just didn't care, but he literally gave me an order that I didn't even place them when I brought the burger back to be corrected. He still made it wrong again! It Said the burger was 'cooked to order. Instead, it came out in 2 minimum flat. It was cool tot he touch, but red in the middle (I ordered it medium). We visited for the first time since this Bedford location reopened after being closed for over a year due to COVID. I remember why we did not miss this burger joint. The interior smelled of animal fat grease, the restroom was dirty and my classic burger was so over cooked it reminded me of a dry shingle. It was void of any flavor or juiciness. My wife had their Burger of the Month, a "Sloppy Q Burger" that was pictured with melted cheese on top along with side of onion strings. She ate her burger with a fork, that had to be requested and her platter was issued without her onion strings which were served up on my platter. I picked up both platters at their counter, asked for knives and forks, delivered them to our table and scraped the onion strings to her platter. She enjoyed the spicy flavor but my burger was difficult to chew. When we paid for our order by credit card we were asked to choose a tip of 18 to 25 % of the food and drink price. That is an annoying practice, especially in a restaurant that provided zero service and had the order screwed up. All in all, our experience and the quality of the food was such that we will not return. read more
