It wasn't bad, but it wasn't write home about good either. Service was friendly but slow to begin with. Once we got to the table is was great with Jace. Just took way too long for how busy it wasn't for someone to come to the hostess counter. The manager (it appeared as so) was busy with staff but in ways that didn't really make sense for the time of day and they were just getting in the way. For the narrow areas, they needed to have been doing all that before they opened to serve. It was just unorganized. The crab cake eggs Benedict was decent but it just lacked the umpf I was hoping for. The Canadian bacon part of it fell especially flat. The was the WORST eating experience that I've ever experienced! When we were first seated we ordered 2 coffees, 2 waters, and an apple juice for our daughter. The waitress asked if we would like milk with our coffee, I asked if I could have some nondairy creamer due to my dietary restrictions/concerns. She said that they didn't have any so I opted to drink my coffee without anything added. While ordering our food, I asked for my eggs to be scrambled hard, as well as asking if there could be some accommodations/substitutions again due dietary restrictions/concerns which she said they didn't do that here. You have to get what's on the menu only. I asked if cheese could be added to my wife's grits and she said the only options we had were either grits without cheese or their pre mixed cheese grits they served. When I asked what type of cheese was in the grits she said "Cheddar and some other stuff" when asked what was other stuff she said I don't know. Which took me and my wife by surprise but we just said ok and went with it since we were well into being there for 30 minutes and our daughter was saying that she was really hungry. Not only did my eggs to the table as soft scrambled eggs to the point that they were runny and I had to send back to be remade, but every time we asked for something (straws for our waters and juice - 3 times, we had to ask for cutlery - 3 times which we never got so my wife got up and found where they were stored, and hot sauce 4 times) she acted like we were inconveniencing her by asking for the items we wanted. Not to mention that she forgot the grits that came with my order. After we ate what was edible from our order, we went to pay our bill at the hostess stand. When we were asked how our dining experience went, I told the hostess what we experienced and she was shocked. She told me that they had nondairy creamer for patrons that asked for it, that they did allow substitutions, and they took pride in their ability to be accommodating to those who asked. Great service from the staff. We were greeted immediately and seated quickly. Upstairs there's a setup for live music which I'm sure is lovely. We had the hungry man and a side of eggs and avocado along with the maple bacon. All in all I'd give it a 7/10, however, based on food alone I'd give it a 6/10. If you do opt for the maple bacon, I suggest you eat it right away or the glaze will harden making it harder to chew. The only thing good about this place was the service. Jodeci was our server and she did an excellent job. They didn't have any diet drinks on site, which is Pepsi products, while I was here but was able to get a Diet Coke in a can from somewhere. Only get free refills on coffee and tea. Two Cracked Eggs Cafe is located on Bay Street. It is next door to a bbq restaurant. The location is close to the intersection of Abercorn and Bay Street. The parking that is right next to the restaurant is limited. There is parking on Bay Street and on other surrounding streets. This parking is not free, make sure to pay 8am-8pm Mon-Sat. There are some steep cement steps to get into the restaurant. Please keep this in mind if you or your loved one has a walker, wheelchair, or trouble walking. I loved the classic breakfast! The biscuits are huge! They are scrumptious. I loved the jam served with them on the table. The grits are great. My eggs & sausage were good too. The meal was so much food I could not eat it all. I had the corned beef hash with sunny side eggs which was very tasty. Other dishes that were ordered were the avocado toast which was delayed as the avocado spread used was frozen so that part of the meal was delayed about 5 minutes from everyone else's meal. Seafood omelette & 2 country egg breakfast which those items were good. The service was friendly and they did apologize for the hiccup. Unfortunately, this was a miss. We came here for brunch to celebrate a bride-to-be, and we were excited to get some breakfast. We were told the wait was about 15-20 minutes, which is manageable. We didn't get seated until about 30-35 minutes, which is fine, since you can't always predict when a table will leave. The girl at the register, poor thing, looked stressed the whole time we were waiting. I felt so bad, and it seemed she was doing multiple things at once. Plus, you check out at the register, so she was checking people in and out. Right after sitting down (this was uncontrollable), a waitress dropped a bowl of grits, and it flung all over the floor and onto my friend's clothes and chair. She disappeared, and our waitress had to clean it up. We were still finding grits on her clothes later in the day. Obviously out of her control, and I felt bad for the waitress, who looked stressed and frantic, too. After finally settling in and looking at the menu, I was shocked at how expensive a single meal was. The amount and quality of the food didn't reflect the price at all. I ordered the traditional, which came with two eggs, a biscuit, and either sausage or bacon, with grits. I got my eggs scrambled hard and decided on the bacon. I wanted to try their biscuits and gravy, so I asked if I could have a side of gravy, which she mentioned would be a charge, and I agreed. Didn't realize how much that was going to be. I also asked if I could swap out my grits for something else, since I don't like grits and I wouldn't wanna waste mine or their money or food if it wouldn't be eaten. They said they had no substitutions and that anything I added would be an extra charge. I asked around the table if anyone would eat it, and someone said they would try it so that it wouldn't go to waste. Everyone else at the table ordered something different. Everyone else's food came out quickly. Mine did not. The waitress mentioned they messed up my eggs and had to remake them, which I said was fine. It took her a while to bring out my plate with the fewest eggs. My friend's biscuit was ice cold and falling apart, so she asked if she could get a warm one, and the waitress brought one out. My biscuit, however, was very cold, as was the gravy they brought me. The eggs were the only warm thing on my plate because they had to be freshly made. I don't know how they messed it up in the first place, but at least those were warm. The bacon was OK. It was tough to bite, but it still had enough flavor that I didn't care. My friend ended up giving me half of her new biscuit that came out, which still wasn't hot, but was warmer than what she had originally been given. More of a lukewarm, where it was sitting under a heat lamp, is the best way to describe it. Since I was paying for it anyway, I figured I'd eat the cold gravy because one, I was hungry, and two, I wasn't gonna waste my money. It was $6 for a side of cold gravy. My friend decided to eat the grits, and it wasn't very good. They were very gelatinous. And it looked honestly gross. My other friend got the Montecristo sandwich and said it was actually good and warm, so I was glad for that since she was the bride, and I was sad that all of our meals were horrible compared to hers. Someone else got the crêpes and said they were OK, but they weren't as good as she'd expected. The girl who got grits flung at her got the River Street Rambler and did not like it. It was also cold. Overall, this is a place I would not come back to again. It seemed very unorganized. There was a sharing fee if anyone wanted to share, which is crazy. $8?! Also, my friends all got coffee and said it wasn't good at all. They didn't have creamer, only whole milk. I don't drink coffee, so I have no comment on that. Good food, LARGE portions, with a few annoying quirks. First, how does an egg place not cook poached eggs for Benedicts? Second, drowning an eggs Benedict in hollandaise doesn't make it better, just soagy. The table and plating are so overflowing it did not make for a pleasant experience.
