Traditional breakfast
Jessica C.

Unfortunately, coming to this restaurant for breakfast was a mistake :/ Steve was awesome and attentive. The upstairs was pretty hot, but there was a band there. I have the traditional breakfast. It was a pretty basic dish for $17 and the cheese added to the grits was $1.95! So not worth it for the 1. Amount of grits you get (only like 6 bites) and 2. The very minuscule amount of cheese added. Very disappointing. The best part was the biscuit, it was nice and fluffy on the inside and large. Bacon was way too overcooked. This too was disappointing because the flavor was really good. Seafood omelette was pretty good, except there was a shrimp shell inside of it. Do not recommend! (Or at least the things we ordered.)

Biscuits and gravy, Nutella crepe and the worlds worst grist lol

Compared to surrounding restaurants this was a little disappointing. First off the food was decent nothing out of this world. I ordered basic biscuits and gravy and my sister ordered a breakfast sandwich. My biscuit & gravy came with a bland grits. I paid the extra $1 for tiny pieces of shredded cheese. (Not worth the dollar) I did not eat the grits they were terrible. We also ordered the Nutella crepe and that's why I gave them 3 stars that was delicious. Now the worst part was the bill. Our total was over $100, breakfast for 2. For that I would've gone to Cracker Barrel and for sure would've had some delicious food. The waitress seemed like she was still asleep. She did not understand anything we would tell her. The location is old, but what in Savannah isn't old. It appeared unkept and a bit dingy and dirty. I was a little grossed out, which may have played a role in my inability to enjoy my meal.

Be aware that this is a cash inly establishment. Great menu. My cuban sandwich felt short of my expectations. It is not a traditional cuban. Services were fast. And the restaurant feel like a cozy spot to enjoy morning coffee.

We ate here a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. This time it was even better. The food, the atmosphere, and our server Milly were amazing. Wish we had remembered the big portions but, now we can skip lunch. Thanks!

Peach French Toast!

I have bragged about this place and their Peach French Toast to everyone I know for years! So many people went there because I recommend it! However today, was the worst food and experience I've ever had for a $90 Breakfast! Service was terrible! Food was all cold! And then the moron owner supposedly demands that the front door be open even when there are Winter storm warnings all over the Midwest! In addition I asked they they not put eggs on my Monte Cristo but instead just scramble them on the side! The know it all cook said they could do that I sent them out as they would have appeared on the sandwich! So I had to order additional scramblesd eggs which added to our 2 person $90 breakfast! The staff kept apologizing which shows they even know things here are messed up! Avoid this place like the Plague!! They took what was the best breakfast house in my life and turned it into an expensive joke!!! The owners must be morons!!!! Look at my past reviews and when you see this one you will know I'm not just making this up! I'm pissed

There's this thing called "cash": a physical payment type exchanged for goods/services. Check the interwebs for details before visiting. Points for being open at 7 am for us early risers. I got to experience without the brunch and live music crowd, and it was pleasant early-AM eating. There are decadent items such with peach compote or brown sugar or jalapeños or hollandaise. Or you can do like me and go for the staples. Like their cash rules, their substitution rules are hard and fast. Scrambled means scrambled, not over medium or anything else. Just pick another thing if you want that other thing. I went traditional: Scrambled. Sausage. Giant biscuit. I don't jest with the biscuit--it was the largest I'd had probably...ever. I broke into two meals: half with the eggs and half with jelly for breakfast dessert. Service was friendly and prompt. I'm sure it's more of a touristy spot at busier times, but mine was a peaceful meal in the Plant District.

Home-made Hash

**CASH ONLY** Great breakfast restaurant with live blues band on the weekend. Old rustic river house atmosphere that was cozy if a little warm. I got the homemade hash and my wife had the country breakfast. Some of the best hash I've had with the warm runny egg. The highlight of the show was the incredible cheddar biscuit. Not too savory and extremely fluffy. A show stopper. Only negative was the cheese grits. The grits were fine but it was a $2 upcgarge for a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top at service. Truly disappointing and not worth the charge. Overall great friendly service for a busy restaurant.

Dry and flavorless ham and cheese crepes
Andi M.

The food was fine, but service was a bit of a miss. And the prices were a bit ridiculous for breakfast. My husband had the corned beef hash, served with two fried eggs and a giant biscuit. The corned beef was a bit salty, but still very good. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the biscuit was excellent with their homemade jam. My ham and cheese crepes were not as good. They were filled generously with ham, but they didn't have much cheese. And they were very dry generally. Our server was absent throughout the meal, and we had to beg another server for a coffee refill. (At $5 a cup, they should be more on top of refills.) With so many other local breakfast spots, I'd skip this one the next time.

We visit Savannah once a year for my boyfriend's company event. We always stop at Two Cracked Eggs for Saturday morning breakfast. I had the special "Monte Cristo" sandwich and it was fantastic. They are a hard to find menu item. My boyfriend got the Crab Cake Benedict. Some reviews mention they are cash only, as of late January 2024 they accepted a debit card. My one gripe about this place is that you leave smelling very stinky. I had to shower and even wash my coat after eating here.

I was debating between the Fried green tomato BLT or the Caprese Grilled cheese then our server Kristin suggested the mussels and that is what I ended up with and I am so glad I did. These were absolutely the best mussels I've ever had. The sauce was not the traditional garlic/shallot wine sauce but had more tomato and basil reminiscent of warm bruschetta. I had to borrow my husbands spoon to get every bit of that sauce after I finished my mussels. My husband had the famous shrimp and grits which he absolutely loved. He noted it wasn't overpowered with sausage like most other restaurants do but had a perfect balance of flavor. My mom got the lamb burger and also loved every bite. She loved lamb so as soon as she saw that she had no doubt what she was going to order. Both my husband and mom loved every bite. I can see why The Public Kitchen is so popular. The restaurant has some indoor and outdoor seating with a mix of tables and banquets along the walls. It was comfortable without being too crowded. This was my first visit to The Public but It definitely won't be my last.

Open only until 2:00 PM, if you're looking for breakfast, brunch or lunch, this is the place to be. Arriving at just about noon, the place was packed, but not unpleasantly so, with customers that quickly moved through the ordering process, past the register, and to the ample seating, of their own choosing (with limited outdoor seating available; but not preferable at the time, due to the spotty showers that also choose to attend). Beverages are provided as payment is being made, leaving no thirst unquenched. Needless to say, seating is immediate. With a cup of rich, flavorful, house blend coffee in hand, my daughter, Son in Law, and I found a seat with a great view of the market activities happening outside only moments before our meals were served. The Italian Panini, chock full of succulent mildly spicy meats and lettuce, covered proportionately with dressing (yes, I was given my own bite size sample) , was my daughter's choice; a visually appealing (although not personally sampled) breakfast platter was the pick of the day for my Son in Law; and, Salmon BLT, composed of one thick, juicy piece of salmon, bursting with flavor, accented by a slice of smokey bacon atop a crisp bed of lettuce, slathered in a mild, but tasty, mustard based sauce, between two halves of a soft , flakey, croissant that more than rivaled the size of an average hamburger bun, was my choice. It did not disappoint. At just under $45.00, before tip, all of this seemed like a bargain. If there could be a downside to this experience, and I would say there couldn't be, it would be that, when visiting Savanah, choosing the place to eat jus became a bit more difficult, with Goose Feathers now in contention.

I love Greek food and I always enjoy venturing out to new restaurants. I went in on a Wednesday. My waitress, Hannah, was amazing. I cannot thank her enough for the level of service and the overall hospitality I experienced here. She let me try some wine, before I decided to commit to one. I also was provided a complimentary appetizer and she said "OPA" with me. It was truly an experience. I decided to try the branzino and I'm so happy I did! The fish was seasoned to perfection- it was fresh and light. I enjoyed it with their rice/peas and you have to have the Greek lemon potatoes. The food in itself had me wishing that I had more time to try more entrees on the menu. I had lived in Savannah for over three years and had neglected to visit them. I took the Greek lemon chicken home and Hannah packed me a little dessert to enjoy. I had mentioned my apartment was packed and she packed me extra silverware and napkins to go. She put the most level of CARE into my visit and I'm so grateful she was my waitress. Final Verdict: I will be stopping by whenever I'm in the area again. This has to be one of the best Greek restaurants, if not the best I've tried in my life.

The online menu photos looked incredible (though I still side-eye those famous PB&J wings--maybe next time!). We chose the Treylor Park Double Wide Diner for breakfast and were thrilled we did. Pro tip: Head there early on a Sunday morning! Alcohol can't be served until after 11 a.m., so the place is surprisingly quiet and easy to get into--no crowds or long waits. We were seated right away, and our server was incredibly friendly and attentive from start to finish. My husband went for The Chupacabra--a massive chimichanga-style breakfast burrito stuffed with eggs, sausage, onions, cheddar cheese, fresh pico de gallo, Sriracha, and chipotle crème fraîche, served with cheesy grits on the side. I ordered the Brunch Nachos, which sounded fun as an "appetizer"... big mistake (or the best kind of mistake!). It was a towering plate of waffle fries loaded with cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage gravy, fried chicken, and topped with sunny-side-up eggs. Both portions were enormous and absolutely delicious--we had to pace ourselves to make a dent in them! Everything tasted fantastic, with bold flavors and that perfect Southern comfort twist Treylor Park is known for. We're already planning to stop by again whenever we're near one of their locations--highly recommend for a fun, hearty breakfast!
