I've been to Two Frays twice in the past few weeks so I'm going to consolidate both visits into one review. Both times, I sat outside on their patio during my visit. They have seating inside as well. I placed my order at the bar and then found somewhere to sit. In addition to regular beer, they have n/an options and arsenal cider. The staff have always been super friendly when I've done. They don't serve food but there are eateries nearby that you can order food and bring it/have it delivered to Two Frays. Both times, the vibes were nice and chill. Definitely a great hangout spot right in the heart of Garfield.

Two Frays is a great spot in Garfield. They're super neighborhood oriented and dog friendly. They always have a variety of beers and are well-known for their Nonalcoholic offerings. Not only do they brew NA beer, but they have NA cocktails and ginger beer available. The outside area is cute and has fire pits and a covered pavilion. This trip I had the Schwartzbier Terminator Tinkerbell which is a perfect winter lager and Jen's lil Cuties which was porter conditioned in chocolate and orange candies. It was sweet, but I enjoyed this twist on a more classic porter. We recently attended trivia here too which was fun. They always have great events, feature local artists, and occasionally have food trucks/vendors. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Small, hipster, locally owned brewery. My favorite thing about Two Frays is their mod Monday a.k.a. non-alcoholic Mondays where they only sell non-alcoholic drinks. I have been sober for 22 months and I haven't seen a business do anything like this. The vibes are great. The workers are great. I've met so many friends here. They have an outdoor patio and free board games for guest to enjoy. Highly recommend checking it out.

I went to an event here that clabed w Pittsburgh Social Health. This place has a really cool vibe. They change out their art work monthly w new artists & their drinks are so good. While they dont serve food they let you bring in anything you want . Def a cool place

I love the Bloomfield/Garfield/East Liberty area, but this place disappointed in every category to be honest. It definitely isn't of my favorite breweries in Pittsburgh and there are a lot, but mainly because it has zero character whatsoever. The atmosphere seems stuffy which is odd considering where it's at plus it's a brewery, but nobody seemed to be having fun, just drinking beer like it's a job they hate. Truth! I love the building itself and the beer garden is cool, but the inside is very hospital like with zero charm or any coolness level and we didn't see anyone smiling or having fun. Odd! So we left after a flight and a beer and cider. The layout is just off and the way the bar is laid out causes confusion when people were walking in and trying to order beer. The people who waited on us weren't super welcoming or friendly either. The beers are just okay and nothing to rant and/or rave about. Will I go back the next time I am in the area, maybe! I believe everyone deserves a chance for redemption.

Small pours on a tray as opposed to flights. So far so tasty! Great place to sketch or read. Family/ neighborhood vibe. Ahhhh...

Really nice place with an outdoor patio. Multiple small pours in lieu of flights. Nearby pizza joints & friendly staff.

This place has been on my list of stops for sometime since they opened. It's on the east of the city where I do not adventure too often. I'm happy I was able to stop by finally. Easy to locate with GPS, parking on the street only. Small brewery for seating inside but wasn't crowded which made it work. Plus they have a nice spacious outside deck area to sit. It rained so thankfully they had seating under a roof. They do not offer flights, but they will do 5 oz pours for 4-6 beers. I did 4 (5) oz pours of the two hazy ipa's, french lager and red ale. They were all tasty but my favorite was the LG2P Hazy. They have chips, but I noticed people leaving and picking up food from around the corner as it appeared to be some type of pizza shop nearby. The setup inside is nice and reminds me of an ice cream shop but better with craft beers available. This marks the 94th micro-brewery that I've visited in the Pittsburgh region. Only 7 more to go and I've been to everyone of them. :) Cheers!!!

Nice local place offering (non)alcoholic drinks with indoor and outdoor seating. Knowledgeable and friendly bartender! Dog friendly. Reasonable prices. When we were wrapping up, there were artists setting up tables for what looked like a craft fair, which suggests Two Frays is well integrated into the community.

Excellent brewery offering a great selection of beers no matter what your tastes may be. The space is bright, beautiful, and welcoming both indoors and outside garden. Two Frays are owned by a husband and wife couple that generously pour their passion out in pints for the local community. Please stop by and check them out! You won't regret it :)

dog friendly in outdoor patio. Only Sparkling wine options plus seasonal cocktail pours in addition to their rotating brews on draft. Unfortunately on the day we went, they were out of their most popular brews and out of the cocktails. They allow food brought in from nearby eateries. Very friendly service. Ambiance is more of a hipster vibe. Interesting. Just not for us.

I recommend the IPAs. They rotate so there is always something new. Neighborhood haunt with good lighting and clean floors.

My friend had booked this place for her birthday party! It was a fun night! Every beer we had was really good. They also had good non alcoholic options. Music was really good and the service was on point. They allow you to bring your own food! There is a covered patio and inside seating. Overall, I'd say a great place for pre-drinks!

Like most breweries, they are heavy on IPAs, but that is the big trend so I can't hold it against them.

No complaints about Blue Sparrow. The food was amazing and so accommodating. I have a nut, dairy…read moreand egg allergy & they let me look at the dairy free cheese ingredients to make sure it was all good! The pizza was amazing. My girl friends and I came after four years of me wanting to come here. I love Gravel Grinder and live close to an OTB so heard of Dancing Gnome from that. Finally made our way there and well, make sure you do not bring young kids. My friend had an 18 month old with us and as she was BUYING a beer from them, the guy who worked there asked if she "could keep the screaming to a minimum." An eighteen month old!!! And Mother's Day is tomorrow, nice. He said that they had to draw a line somewhere and he wasn't kidding. The 18 month old was not running around screaming crying all day. We were outside having the kids play and when my friend was buying a beer he got a bit fussy and was told to keep it to a minimum. Needless to say, we will NOT be coming back. If you have small children, I would not suggest this place. Super disappointing. I've always hyped their beer and place up and now I can't support it. We ended up going to Grist House and it was a WAY better vibe and WAY busier...I wonder why. I should have known when their sign said no dogs allowed.

I loveeeee coming to Cinderlands! The food here is always so amazing and their drinks never miss…read more My preferred method of travel here is by bike but there is a garage nearby that's not bad or you can usually find street parking. Not pictured but you NEED to get a Cindy's Tea when you come here. They sell these in cans as well I always try and grab a pack if we don't bike here! Their crunch wrap is my favorite thing on their menu. If I'm not getting it as my meal I'm forcing it as a table shareable it is that good. Usually I just get their fries with it which is always yummy but this time I tried their mac and it was so delicious! The Chicken Caesar wrap was so good normally I think places never put enough dressing in them but this was perfectly dressed! We tried their Heirloom Tomato & Watermelon Salad and added chicken to it. Idk where I've been but watermelon on a salad?! AMAZING!!! I wouldn't take off or add anything else to this(except chicken clearly lol) it was so refreshing and light and perfect!

This location is huge so it's perfect for large groups. While the downstairs is primarily to go and…read morebar seating, the upstairs has full table service. This is a little different as they are set up with toast where you scan the QR menu and place your order and then they bring the food or drink to your table. You don't really have a server per se. We came in on a Friday afternoon around 4 o'clock and it was pretty quiet. We chose to sit upstairs and ordered the season of the month chicken wings. It was sour cream and cheddar dry rub. We did get them well done and I'm glad we did because it did make them crunchy here although they still weren't all that crunchy. The dry rub was actually really good, but it was a little bit like eating Cheetos as when you took your fingers away they were covered in orange powder. My husband tried their wheat ale - the easy golden. It was okay, but a little hop forward for him. They did have a arsenal cider on tap so I chose that for my beverage.

So have you seen that meme out on the InterT00bZ that's like "Hey let's go to that new beer place…read morethey have $27 warm hazy IPAs in the middle of a parking lot?" Yeah, that's the vibe I was getting at Velum. There was a lot to like and a lot to not like about this place, so I'll start with the bad and end on a positive note. First off, it's in an old brewery and it looks like a warehouse. I'm not sure if they still brew their own beers but it straight up looks like an old warehouse. I've seen abandoned warehouses that look less like a warehouse than Velum. Maybe some people like that vibe but I felt like the cops were going to bust in and shut the party down like a teen coming-of-age movie. The taproom is all the way in the back, and so are the bathrooms, so if you break the magic circle, prepare to get your steps in. There's no kitchen. They DO partner with a food truck but they're getting their own review. I paid $10 for an average cocktail and $8 for a 12 oz cider that frankly wasn't that great. Either better drinks or bigger drinks, please. And everything is community seating. I don't hate the idea but I didn't care for the vibe so when I found a smaller table my friend and I grabbed it and boarded it. With that being said, there was a lot to like too. First off, we were there for a pinball night, and they have a great selection of pinball tables there, both classic and modern. I really would have liked information on joining a pinball league, but that wasn't offered anywhere that I could find. Plus on that particular night it was $10 for all-you-can-play, so we definitely got our money's worth there. The staff that I did interact with were super nice. That goes a long way and saved this from being a worse review. And the place is dog friendly, which is always a huge plus for me. All in all, I had a decent night. But the question as always is if I'll go back. Unfortunately, probably not of my own accord. If there's another pinball event, I'll definitely go, but it's not going into my rotation of cool spots. Not every place is meant for me, and that's fine.
