The tile floor had some broken pieces and chunks missing. But, I was there. So I ordered two orders of the three queso birria tacos with consume, to go. The woman behind the counter was very pleasant and more than helpful. As I waited, I grabbed some salsa and limes from the fairy well stocked condiment cart. After ten or fifteen minutes, I got my order. There were around 6 or 7 people ahead of me, so it was a reasonable wait. I took my order and went home. This is where my opinion was changed. There was a decent amount of filling in the tacos. I took a sip of the consome, and was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was! No grease layer on top (like so many others I have tried), just a well seasoned and savory broth. I dressed my tacos with lime and salsa, dipped into the consome, and took a bite. What a pleasure! The hot dogs are always fantastic, the service is genuinely friendly, and every visit reminds me of a simpler time when neighbors waved to each other and people actually knew their regular customers.
