I don't get out this way too often but from now on, when I do, I will be stopping at Two Kids Coffee! This is a cute little coffee shop/gallery on Mission Street in South Pasadena with lots of great shops to check out and places to eat. The owners are super friendly! They greeted us like they were sincerely happy to welcome us :) Something you don't get at some of the bigger or trendy coffee shops. It was nice :) The coffee is great, we had an Espresso w/ Milk and Espresso w/ Milk & Chai. Both were very good and the espresso was nice and smooth. The menu is very simple and to the point, no fancy names just descriptions which makes it very easy to order. There is plenty of free parking between the street parking in front and a city lot behind the shop. So you shouldn't have much trouble finding a spot. read more

GREAT Hole in the wall kind of shop in south pas that I've never noticed before!! until i was walking back to my car from chipotle (also plug for the best chipotle in the area). Coffee was great. The baristas were even greater. the wall paper was just the best. Shop is beautiful. I wanted to buy one of their well made tshirts as 1 of 2 kids in the family, haha. the red chairs are an awesome touch to the space. Only downside is not much space for working from (i hate backless chairs) but i'm assuming that was their intention. cute porch seats in the front for you to chill with your friends. will be back. Bright, curated, impeccably well-kept space on Mission in south pas. Standard coffee menu--nothing special and very overpriced. Their coffee always tastes quite burnt and acidic too. They also clearly need better workflow or service standards, with wait times being nonsensically long with or without a line. Often there will be three baristas working and one or two don't seem to be doing much of anything, despite them constantly assuring the next person in line they'll be with them soon. This place is truly a hidden South Pasadena gem! My husband and I were walking around Mission St. with our dog and stumbled upon this place a few weekends ago. It looked cute so we decided to give it a try. The drinks are on the pricey end, but the coffee is incredibly smooth and you can tell that they put so much care into making each drink. We loved it so much that we went back again yesterday to try some other drinks off their menu! There was a line of about 6 people when we got there -- so happy to see people supporting this small local business, especially with new Starbucks less than a block away. COVID precautions: This place truly wins in terms of being COVID-safe! There are tape markings outside measuring 6 feet apart, and a clear "entry" and "exit" so that people don't bump into one another. All of their menu items are clearly displayed in the window at the front of the shop so you can visualize everything before you order. Once it's your turn to order, they have a table set up in the doorway of the shop for payment. You can either insert your credit card into the chip reader, or use contactless payment (e.g. Apple Pay) and pay by scanning your device through the glass of the storefront. This was SO impressive. With either option, they are very diligent about sanitizing the table and the glass window in between customers. We appreciate these measures so much -- it takes extra time but it is well worth it and has made us feel extremely safe. We will definitely be returning again! Their coffee is great and the service is top notch -- the guy taking orders seems very down to earth and genuine. We overhead him talking to some other customers and he seems to have memorized orders for the usual customers which was very heartwarming! P.S. Last day of cat sitting in this area and found this gem. Coming from LA, the fact that parking was such an easy task was probably the biggest pro here. Plenty of free street parking right across the street and on cross streets. Walked over and there was no line. They're still not allowing people inside (Covid safety) so you place your order at the door. They have the menu posted up in front so you can decide on your order before you get to the front of the line. Menu is pretty straight forward. They have the staples but none of the complicated IG fancy colored ones (which I usually never do for so I didn't mind, but if that's your thing just be prepared). I got an iced "espresso with milk" which is a latte. I tried it with regular milk and it was delicious. (I definitely want to come back and try it with oat milk for that extra oomph). There were other people coming in to order and the server seemed to know them on a first name basis. It makes it feel like it's a local staple where regulars come in all the time and they just get to know you. If I lived closer I'd probably be one of them haha. They also have a few food options if you were looking for something to accompany your coffee. Overall, a great first time experience. Hoping to be back soon. I ordered an iced espresso with half & half and the toast with banana jam; it came out to ~$11, and both were delicious! The espresso was bold and strong enough to stand up against the h&h, and the bread for the toast was chewy and fresh. It was topped with almond butter and banana jam, both good as well. The space is especially cool, with nice wooden chairs out front, a long counter near the window with stools, as well as stools by the counter where you order too. Service was very friendly and fast. I also enjoyed the whole vibe of the place, as it had a whole connecting section with varied books for sale, artistic/graphic design coffee books and comfy sofas to sit in. Surrounding area is the small-town South Pasadena downtown vibe, with much street parking. Would recommend, and come back myself! read more

Very good tasting coffee here. I stumbled into their shop after shopping at the various shops on that block. I thought the shop was well appointed with just the right amount of gifts with the right amount of seating areas both inside and out. Their mugs were fantastic. I thought they should sell them there but then was told by one of the owners that they were vintage and that the designer was long gone. I also had toast with jam. So good. read more

Another cute small business owned by great people! I was recommended this place and decided to check it out because I love a good local coffee spot. They're currently only accepting card and you order at the entrance and wait outside for your drink. My go-to drink is the medium espresso with almond milk and vanilla syrup. Their medium is the size of a cappuccino, and the large is about the size of the latte. The taste of the espresso is soooooo smooth, probably one of the smoothest and rich tasting I've ever had! They add the perfect amount of vanilla in the drink so it's not too strong that it overpowers the espresso, but it's just the right amount that it enhances and sweetens it just right. Dana and Ryan are the sweet couple that own this business and I really wanted to write this review because I saw that there's a Starbucks opening right across the street from them soon... so check this coffee spot out! I took a chance and tried out this coffee shop after seeing positive reviews on yelp for Two Kids. This establishment is definitely intended for a specific coffee drinking customer. Ones with kids or art buyers or ones that want to just get their caffeine and go. I was rather stunned because I had come in to the shop with an expectancy to sit and go through my laptop. They don't have Wi-fi.. -Fortunately enough I had a job that I was able to work on without internet. The sitting area is rather small. There is a bar area by there espresso machine and a few tables closer to the storefront (although, I believe those tables are reserved for arts and crafts for children.) The coffee that I had was good. I ordered their "espresso and milk" as written on the menu. The temperature of their drink was excellent and ready to drink right away. They use Gotham Roaster coffee. Its good, but it wasn't too exciting or flavorful. The baristas and employees there were friendly as they checked once to see if I needed anything else. -I have to bring this up, but there seems to be a cluster of friends of the baristas that drop by which was a little bit of a distraction. I acknowledge that its not the establishments intention to have customers that come in to work / . stay long, but I found it unprofessional. read more

Stopped by on my way to a Saturday appointment and I loved the high level of service. The door kiosk is a great way to keep everyone safe and I noticed they wipe EVERYTHING down between each customer. It's always great to see a high level of cleanliness in action and it gave me so much peace of mind. Ryan was welcoming and really helpful with the ordering process. I got a cold brew but I couldn't leave with out a pastry. On a whim, I got what looked like cornbread, but turned out to be polenta cake. It was excellent! It paired with the cold brew perfectly. And the cold brew was also REALLY good. I think I found my new go-to coffee shop in South Pasadena. In a city filled with coffee options, Two Kids Coffee is some damn good coffee. read more

I was in the area and found this cute coffee shop on yelp. It's kinda hidden amongst the other stores next to it but they put a wooden sign outside that says "coffee." This is not your typical coffee shop. We were surrounded by white walls and cool art. There happened to be a vinyl pop-up sale when I visited but they change it up continuously. I love the concept and vibe. I ordered their espresso with almond milk in the largest cup which is basically an almond milk latte. It was pretty good but it was $6! The flavor is different from the almond milk lattes I usually get though which I assume is cuz they make their almond milk themselves fresh every morning. That's probably why the price is so steep. It's pretty cool though makes me wanna try their almond milk without the espresso next time just to taste the flavor. read more

Comes with 2 shots. Almond Milk flavor was ok, did not live up to the price you pay though. Hot Brew - $3 - I thought the Gotham coffee would be more flavorful but it was a little to diluted. What a great new coffee spot in South Pasadena! Located on Mission, just a few doors down from Fair Oaks Pharmacy & Fountain Shop. There's free street parking in the area. It's hidden inside a little art gallery. Friend and I stopped by one morning for a couple of coffees and conversation. They have a tiny menu and I opted for the Espresso with milk and chocolate. Service was friendly and was provided by one of the owners. He enthusiastically shared his vision and journey and I enjoyed hearing his kickstarter story. There's only a few stools, but my friend and I had a seat. Because we opted to drink our espressos in house, they were served in mugs. Love it. My espresso? Excellent. I've been wanting to try this little shop ever since it first popped up. I love trying coffee shops wherever I go and very rarely do I ever see a straight-up 5-star coffee shop, or any business in general. This is a no frills coffee shop that just gets it when it comes to customer service. The owners got their start through Kickstarter funding and was finally able to open up a location in conjunction with an art place. They try new coffee shops wherever they go as well, and after going to NY, they enjoyed the beans from Gotham coffee roasters and decided to use this for Two Kids. I came in 5 minutes before they closed and ended up ordering a chai latte and it was quite delicious - the right amount of spice that wasn't too overpowering and milk steamed to perfection. Would recommend. There are a couple negatives if you imagine this to be a stereotypical coffee shop - there's no wifi, the menu is pretty limited, and there are only a few stools at the bar and a few seats outside, so most definitely not a work environment. But if you see it for what it is - a coffee shop - they are doing it right. And who knows...maybe in the future after raising more money, these additions will come! read more

I have been here a couple of times and I adored it! I feel sophisticated due to the coffee shop being inside a small art gallery. What's not to like, sipping good coffee while browsing art is definitely my cup of tea (or coffee)! The owners (thus 2 Kids) are so welcoming and friendly. You feel like family right away. A family member who only comes around for a casual conversation over a good cup of coffee. The menu is limited. I always opt for the espresso with mill chocolate. Best of both worlds, the little kid in me loves hot chocolate and the grown up kid loves espresso! I will eventually try out their other offerings. But for now, my drink of choice makes my heart happy. I literally dance and shimmy when I take a sip. The price is about $5 a cup, which is average in the neighborhood. Parking is street. Fairly easy both times I have been there. 2 Kids Coffee is definitely a welcome addition to our small town community. Variety is good. Support local. read more

There are coffee spots and there are COFFEE spots! 2 Kids is COFFEE in every sense. No frills, no WiFi, no crowds, just Great COFFEE! This shop is not a place to hangout and do work, that's what YuckBucks is for, 2 Kids is for serious coffee lovers. Their house made Almond "milk" is probably the best that I've ever had, even better than G&B's almond macadamia "milk" I highly recommend the Almond Capp, you will not be disappointed. The creaminess balances out the espresso and is a divine experience. Their vegan/gluten free donuts are incredible, especially the seasonal pumpkin maple donut. Exquisite. I've tried my fair share of coffee shops in the South Pas area and I can't believe I didn't check out Two Kids sooner! I came by this morning (parking was easy, a definite plus) and ordered an iced 'espresso with milk', essentially a latte. I got it with their house-made almond milk and vanilla. I am normally an oat milk loyalist but I think their almond milk added a nice nutty twist on what normally would be a pretty basic drink. The cafe interior, from what I could gather, was spacious and would be an awesome place to hang out once COVID regulations allow. What really set Two Kids apart, though, was the service. The young man up front knew the names of the regulars and made an effort to connect with every customer. Overall: great service, great coffee, I'd come back! read more

First of all, FIVE stars for sourcing from two really outstanding local bakeries. Proof AND Seed bakery. Love their coffee, their accessibility, the service, the ambiance even if seating is really limited. This is an easy place for me to get to, and the fact that the coffee AND the pastries are good is a win. My biggest issue is the price. They are on the pricier side and more than once I've been served a drink with an inch of room even though I tell them I don't want or need room for creamer. Ambiance/Decor: Really nice ambiance with music playing in the background. Limited amount of decor (couple of stools along the coffee bar and two tables outside). Entertainment: After checking out the coffee shop, go nuts and explore the mini art gallery. Service: Ryan was great! He was very personable, friendly, attentive, and informative. Basically a full body guatamalan and brazilian blend of yummy goodness from a micro roaster (Gotham) in Brooklyn, New York. I also sampled their 18 hour (not concentrated) cold brew.
