If you can't taste lobster on your lobster roll then that's a pretty sad roll. It was chopped up into really small bits. I tasted the purple onion more than anything. The chips were ok -1 friend had a burger - said it was ok -another had the shrimp tacos - said it was good and tasty. - another had the Belgium waffles with potatoes and bacon and liked that. I never order steak at a restaurant because my feeling on it is why would I pay $40 for something I can easily do at home and do it to the level of a restaurant. However tonight I was really fiending for a steak, so I went for it, New York strip, medium rare of course. Imagine my surprise when this is what I got. To be fair I should have said something but I was really hungry. They're getting 3 stars because the service was very friendly and everything else, the beet salad and the scallops were very good. I knew right away when I got my Manhattan and the cherry wa not the cherry I was expecting things we're not going to go well. my moms martini was watery.....there were 6 of us. we ordered guacamole with lobster not my first choice . it was awful, hardly any lobster and what was there seemed old. No nothing here. I can go on about all the entrees, but the big one that was a the special. A rack of lamb that was ordered medium rare. It came out rare rare and all the fat still on rack and we were left to our own to slice. Needless to say we sent it back ,,a half hour later after all our awful entrees came out, the lamb ca out ! still with a bed of fat on it and we still need to slice off rack and it was awful. I don't know what to say about the previous negative reviews, but we had a really nice meal which included flat bread with salad arugula and avocados and cheese, a delicious cheese appetizer, and lobster ravioli for dinner. Everything was delicious, including the bread on the table. Couldn't have been better. The service was also wonderful and the table next to me had a different waiter, and I noticed his service was wonderful as well. Beautiful spot with beautiful views. I've eaten here once before, this place is always quiet and when we came back it was niiiice and empty. Right into the food, the free cornbread tastes like jiffy mix. It's too sweet for me but if you like sweet cornbread then this is the place for you! The crab cake and lobster guac appetizers were fun--The crab cake was nice and crispy on the outside and the guac was delicious, topped with a bit of warm lobster meat. If I know anyone with high blood pressure I can recommend this place because they lightly salt everything. The server comes around with a pepper AND salt mill, which I've never seen before. The Pork-chop Milanese was good, very crispy, but I think a tiny bit dry. The arugula salad was great, drizzled with PLENTY of balsamic and had a dollop of burrata ontop. It would be a nice accompaniment to a salty cut of pork if the meat were just a little saltier. The ahi tuna was a nice big seared rare piece with coconut basmati rice and veggies. The tuna could have used a little seasoning but the overpowering coconut rice absolutely hijacked the spotlight. I didn't catch the server's name but he was polite and speedy. He had called us before our reservation to ask us to come just a little later than our reservation because they had a private event scheduled. Overall, not a bad place to visit in Nyack. It's sort of...quaint! You can definitely come here for a casual bite, not a date. Found this place by a simple search for restaurants in Nyack to try. The parking can be a little confusing cause there's about 3 parking lots surrounding the building and some parts of them are permit only. We were there on a Friday night and made a reservation expecting it to be packed .. the place was dead! Which was very surprising for a place that is close by the water and has a great view. Dishonesty always loses customers. Hence the reason we were the only two people in the entire restaurant on a Saturday. Look at the photo, the difference in price between the menu and the amount charged. It's the waitress job to make sure she charges us correctly especially because we were the only two people so she had the time. I also mentioned that the bread was burnt on the avocado toast. After I pointed out the charge mistake she corrected and discounted two dollars for the burnt toast. It was the worst avocado toast with cheap bread full of holes. My daughter and I asked to sit outside and we were told we couldn't because they were reserved for open tables reservation, we said ok we will sit inside. The outside remained half empty the entire time we were there, I went on open tables while there to see if I could get a reservation and the restaurant is not even taking reservations everything was blacked out. A couple came in and I heard the hostess ask if they wanted inside or outside to sit, when I asked our waiter about that he said that they had a reservation when I said I heard the hostess ask that, he got defensive and said I can't sit everyone outside because then the inside waiters would have no customers. (so he lied) Before I confronted him on anything I asked for bread, the waiter said the restaurant was out of bread, 10 min later I saw another waiter serving bread to the couple they sat outside. I was split between 3 and 4 stars for this place. The people put me over the edge. Made a great connection with the bartender, I was eating alone, and Mets the owners who were working the floor. The food was good but not quite in alignment with the price. My salmon, Faroe Island, was a little over cooked. Being a cook myself, I know how hard it is to cook and get it right for the less fatty salmon varieties so I'll give a little leeway. Everything else was good and the portions were in alignment with a more expensive restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the salmon, it was very nicely seasoned and just a little overcooked. Definitely the place to go to for a nice romantic dinner by the Hudson River water front. Food was amazing, the customer service was very friendly and excellent, and Definitely a clean environment as well. My husband and I are looking for new places to dine on the other side of the Tappan Zee Bridge, and decided to dine here for the first time for my birthday (July 27, 2023). For starters, we arrived earlier than anticipated. Our reservations were for 6:00 PM and we arrived at 5:02 PM. Trevor let us in and did not bat an eye when we told him our reservations were for 6:00 PM. *Please note, the restaurant does not open until 5:00, so we were their first patrons. Since we were the first ones, Trevor let us pick which table we wanted to sit. Now here's the important part...my husband and I are "alcohol conoseiurs". My husband's drink of choice is a Long Island Ice Tea and I personally love Patrone Margheritas with salt on the rim. We've patroned many places where the bartenders have claimed to know how to make a Long Island, only for my husband to be disappointed and send it back. Well needless to say, neither one of us sent our drinks back. Trevor was spot on. If you order appetizers, order their crab cakes. The ambiance inside the restaurant is very nice. The tables are beautifully set, and we had a scenic view of the water and bridge as we listened to some nice jazz music as we waited for our food. The steak was a nice thick cut that came with sweet potatoes. I mistook the sweet potatoes for butternut squash, both of which I like very much. It was presented nicely on the plate. Unfortunately, I dove right in and did not take a picture. I ate half and took the rest to go to leave room for desert. I was torn between the chocolate lava cake and the tiramisu. Well, the chocolate lava cake won in the end. When my husband received the bill, he was pleasantly surprised to see it was much lower than expected. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Ok first the positives: the atmosphere is cozy and the view of the new "Tappan Zee bridge" (sorry I am old school on that name). I am highly allergic to alcohol- so the waiter was attentive of my situation, and the chef made lots of notes. With that said: #hudsonvalleyrestuarantweek menu was limited and couldn't be offered. But I did choose off the main menu- the lobster risotto was very filling but could use a little more seasoning. I feel that the speed of getting the food- was super slow- even after we told the waiter our one guest has a time restriction, she had to leave halfway through her meal. Sending back a French onion soup since the flavor was odd- seemed to be a hassle to the waiter. He was almost down right rude to us, it had too much seasoning and was a clear broth base- it was just odd. They replaced it with sliders which were ok- nothing to be wowed over. I've been living in Nyack for many years, and have heard good things about Two Spear Street. But I hadn't had dinner here until last night. Good things: our waiter, John, was courteous and did a great job. The beet and burrata appetizer was good (but as a beet lover I wish there had been more beets). The rest of the meal, however, was sub-par. My boyfriend had the rib eye, and it was a little gristly and underwhelming. One of his glasses of wine was sour as well. I had the almond crusted tuna, and I will admit the fish itself was very good simply because it was a high grade. But the preparation was not doing it any favors. It was somewhat cold and had almost no flavor added, no "crusting" to be found. It just wasn't worth the cut of fish. Poor fish. In addition, the food took a while to come out even though it did not appear to be a busy night. There was a party in the party room that was pretty loud and didn't really enhance the experience. It also smelled like sewage around the building and this smell wafted in through the doors from the outside eating areas. For the price, there are WAY better options nearby. This place has very good food , but that's where the compliments end. To begin with our waiter refused to wear a mask, the table was tilted . It is the most rigid restaurant I have ever been to. No substitutions ever so I could've get a vegetable instead of potato and my friend couldn' t switch type's of potato. The last straw was a surcharge for using a credit card and the price on the menu was the cash price. We were six people, the view is lovely, but when I spend over $100.00 for dinner , management shhould be more accommodating. I will not return and neither will our five friends. Wonderful experience The restaurant itself is beautiful, it overlooks the Tappan Zee Bridge. We started off with cocktails... everyone was delighted with their choices. I had a cosmopolitan and happily is was topped off with the extra from the shaker by the bartender. We had 2 appetizers, shared between 4 people, shrimp guacamole... absolutely delicious and the arugula flatbread, also wonderful. My husband and I had the blackened salmon, excellent. At $60+ a head, we each had meal one might enjoy at Cheesecake Factory, Ruby Tuesdays or some other such suburban mall stop where the food is oversalted and overcooked to the satisfaction of alcoholic bourgeoise tastebuds. Mind you, this used to be Lena's, a very nice upscale spot with a view of the Hudson River. It seems that in changing owners, they have paid off a food reviewer for continued glowing accolades while also augmenting their staff from the local bowling alley. This was our first time here. The atmosphere was great. Having a table looking at the bridge was very nice. Pianist playing while we were there was nice. Our service was very good. The waiters were very attentive to us. The chef sent out a "tuna bruschetta" very good. Portions were big, and presentation was great! All I have to say is one thing - stay away! The service here is awful. I have been working in the restaurant business for years and cannot believe that the staff here are still employed. I have attended 3 private parties and a brunch here and have felt nothing but rushed. My plate was cleared before I even finished it, and I felt nothing but a poor, mean attitude from our server. She cleared my wine, while it was full! She even cleared my coffee after I left to take a photo with the family. My father's steak was overcooked and after sending it back, she slammed the plate down in front of him! I didn't even attempt to send back my food because I was fearing the attitude. How can one be working in this atmosphere? If you're willing to deal with a poor attitude then this place is for you, but in my opinion this place needs to go. The food is not anything to rave about either, we left with stomach aches and feeling over-stuffed which I question the preparation and freshness of the dishes. We came here on an early Saturday afternoon for restaurant week and was disappointed that the restaurant week menu is not offered on Saturdays. Nevertheless, we ordered the crab cake benedict and lobster roll from their regular brunch menu. We sat outside on a hot day enjoying a clear view out to the river. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it did take a while for our food to come out. Both dishes were very good and the servers attentive. You save 3% off the bill if you pay cash. The view of the bridge and marina is superb. Food was very good. We felt everything was seasoned perfectly and presented well. Overall the restaurant is decorated very nicely with a buttery yellow wall paint, coffered ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and a lovely bar clad in hammered copper. I've been here twice in the past couple of months, and I can only assume that something has changed radically since Maria W reviewed this place in 2008, because both times it was pretty dang wonderful. The setting is gorgeous - right at the edge of the town and directly overlooking the Hudson River and the Tappan Zee Bridge, so the view is spectacular, especially at night with the bridge all lit up. The service was quick and friendly - when I ordered my glass of wine from the waiter, the bartender (across the room) actually heard me and brought it over himself. Lovely wine list, by the way. Both times we have been there we have enjoyed everything we have ordered. The Southern husband had the appetizer cheese souffle, which he gobbled down so fast he "forgot" to share a bite with me. I had the filet mignon with bacon and blue cheese topping, a popover and roasted carrots, and our friends had osso bucco (loved it) and linguine fra diablo. In the case of the linguine, it was the first night the chef had it on the menu and he specifically came out to ask how we liked it. (We liked it.) Dessert? We chose to wait out in the outdoor seating area and ordered two rounds of drinks since the night was cooling off and we didn't want to rush. The place was clean, the staff was professional, friendly, and spot on. We were given a bar menu at first and chose to use it as an appetizer. Duck wings with a Thai inspired Sauce and Veal Meatballs. Both were really good! Our Server, Jordan was friendly, very knowledgable of the menu and the techniques used in preparing each menu item. He moved with a purpose and was not pushy. We ordered our mains, Filet with Lump Crab meat and Frenched breasted chicken. The beef was on point....very well made. The Frenched chicken was perfectly stuffed and the sauce was perfect....the risotto was however over salted. Desert was a Tiramisu and Three color sherbet. The Tiramisu seemed like it was a day old, it didn't taste the freshest....the Sherbet, had large chunks of ice in it, but the flavor was awesome. We will certainly go back. I found "2 Spear Street" through the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week. My usual modus operandi for restaurant week is to head to a restaurant I could never afford, so I scoured the available restaurants and their pre fixe menus for a while before making my decision. The restaurant is small, friendly, and has outrageously beautiful views of the Hudson River and Tappan Zee Bridge. The moment I walked in the door, the hostess greeted me by name and showed us to our seats. The waiter was friendly and efficient, with great suggestions when asked. They were even thoughtful enough to add candles to the two birthday desserts with prompting. 2 Spear has a regular pre fixe menu Tuesdays through Thursday, so I definitely recommend heading over there if the prices give you pause. The food is delicious, at times innovative, and the desserts still linger in my mind. read more

1/25/2012 - i am a foodie and love to eat, after reading the reviews online and Zagat my husband and i couldn't wait to try this resturant. We were very dissapointed ... The steak was horrible - the sauce was too salty and tasted burnt...the fish was ok but the carrots were not cooked too raw. The only thing this resturant has going for it is the water view and the service was great...however I will never return. I went to Two Spear Street last night 8/20/20. My friend and I were looking forward to a wonderful dining experience. They are open, but only serving on their outside patio. The view is nice. Hudson River and TZ bridge. And that's about it! The service is ok. The food was fine. But we had to endure loud talking from a couple who decided to converse with the tables around them. Mind you they are at least 6 ft. apart. So it was more like shouting.We asked the waiter to tell the manager. Nothing happened! The manager never came outside. The loud talking and shouting continued throughout our meal. I couldn't stand it anymore and went inside and asked another waiter to please get the manager. He came back and said "He's in a meeting". This kid looked to be about 15. and too scared to find the manager. I said I wasn't leaving until the manager talked to me. He finally showed up. He told me he is the manager/owner. I told him my problem, he said I should've talked to these people myself. We had tried once. But they just ignored us. I told the owner Angelo Rubino that I did not want to put myself in danger of a physical confrontation as this couple had been drinking a lot. He didn't want to do anything. But he finally said he would go outside. But he didn't go for at least 15 minutes. He stood near the couple's table, listened as they were still speaking very loudly. Then he went to their table and was smiling and talking to them. He never came over to our table to say anything. He just left. The couple continued their shouting exchanges with two other tables. And that was it. Mind you we were at least twenty feet away from them, but we could hear every word!! This is not the relaxing, fine dining experience we were expecting. It was like being in a Sports Bar. I will never go there again. It really was a miserable experience. And the owner couldn't care less that we were unhappy. I have never been in any restaurant that would not stop loud rowdy people from ruining the other diners' evening. The first time I went to 2SS I had a coupon from Restaurant.com. When I got there, I was told they no longer accepted the coupons. Last night we went for the Hudson Valley restaurant week menu. When we got there we were told they do not offer that menu on Saturday. (no mention of either of those exclusions on their web). The French Onion soup was onions boiled in chicken broth with a glop of melted mozzarella on top. The Mint Demi Glaze that came with the rack of lamb was a thick gooey puddle of molasses. The special appetizer 'Cockles and Mussels' arrived at the table with Mussels but no Cockles. I signed up for Yelp just so I could tell others how disappointing this restaurant is.
