Wow this stand is a gem. We were in our way back from a fruit stand and saw this stand. We brought some haupia pie and bread. They were both delicious. The inside is super moist. This was my first time stopping by a stand for bread and pie. They also sells drinks. This place is great. I would definitely recommend stopping by here next time. read more

Really cute break bakery with a lot of fresh baked goodies! We grabbed a bunch. Most of the breads are $4 and they also have some desserts in the cooler. It's located off the side of the road so just park and the side and stop by if you get the chance! read more

In true Big Island fashion, this honor system payment side of the road tent is fabulous. Plenty of choices, local flavors, cash and Venmo only. My kiddo says the cowboy cookie has the perfect amount of chocolate. It was the perfect pick-me-up from the heat of our hike. Buy extra. read more

Loved visiting this little roadside stand twice after visiting Two Step Beach! We tried a variety of baked goodies both times and all of them were moist and delicious! Still thinking about those ube white chocolate chip cookies in particular. Make sure to get there early for the best variety of options. Cute little home made bakery stand on the side of the road. Not what I was expecting but at the same time that's why I loved it! Came here on a gloomy/rainy day and saw such a variety of items! Off the side of the highway LITERALLY! Delicious! Plenty of GF options which was a surprise! Worth the trip! They take cash and Venmo which is a plus! This is a must stop honor system stand with fresh baked goods just outside two step. So grab a nibble before or after snorkeling. Most items are $5, and we tried 10 of them :) The butter mochi are exactly what they should be, cakes fluffy, but the haupia (coconut) pie is literally the best of its kind I have ever had. It was consumed way too quickly for a pic so all you get is the cute label. I may go back tomorrow and buy 4 more. Don't expect to be able to share this! The only thing I didn't love were the Lilikoi cookies - just not the right cookie texture for me; more like a muffin. read more

Cute little stand in the Two Step/Honaunau bay area. Good deals on the items , which we took advantage of (3 of the $5 items for $13, etc, free fruit or sticker for leaving a review, free $5 item if you spend $25 or more, etc), and those deals made the items more affordable. Several bins were already sold out, but we tried the ube cake, pineapple cake, vegan ube coconut rice, brownie, haupia pie with lilikoi. We also purchased a few Hawaiian themed stickers. We saw, but did not purchase, some locally-made earrings on display. Our favorites were the haupia pie with lilikoi, ube coconut rice, and the ube cake. Everything was very tasty, although on the sweeter side (for our palates). Could have cut the sugar by 1/4-1/3 and still have been delicious for our preferences. read more

What a delightful and delicious treat! We tried the lime, lilikoi, mochi and pineapple cakes plus the coconut chocolate pie and a Kona coffee brownie. It was all amazing. This is a wonderful road side stand selling delicious sweet. Reads, cookies and fresh fruit. Fresh picked fruits are used in all of their products. I noticed many times driving by that people buy up the products and they are out of stock till the next day. It's hurry up and get there early. I loved the banana bread. Plenty of fresh bananas in the area. Banana trees everywhere. Only one drawback. I don't live anywhere near Capitan Cook area of the Big Island. read more

Tucked away off the main drag of captain cook, Two Step is a worthy (and quick) detour for some local flavor mochi and pastries. We stumbled onto this roadside stand last time, and now we see it's got an official Yelp page! Food is still as good as our first visit. Their pastries are perfect for morning provisions or dessert! Drove past here, just a tent with items and cash or Venmo payment, honor system so nobody there. Anyway, got an ube mochi cake, a pineapple coconut cake, and a lilikoi coconut cake. Got ones on sale (otherwise $5 each), totaled $7. The ube mochi was the best, consistency was good, but ube flavor wasn't very strong. Actually, none of the flavors were strong, and I'm sure all the cakes had food coloring. The pineapple one was way, way, way too yellow for it to have been only from pineapple, and I didn't really taste any pineapple flavor in that. The lilikoi was slightly better, at least there were lilikoi seeds. The ube sticky rice looked decent but was very pricey at $7 so passed on that. Wouldn't really say I'd recommend it. read more

When we arrived around 6:15pm, there were no more loaves in the cooler but there were a few phone numbers with a note posted on the cooler that said to please call if there were no more loaves so they can bring some up :) The owners are super kind and happily brought up some more loaves so we can purchase some. I think they said they filled the cooler with 52 loaves before they left for the day! I don't have a picture of the loaves because we ate them so quickly but just trust me when I say this is a must stop and you won't regret it!

The omelet was very cheesy and we loved the cheese pull. While the cheesecake was good, the crust needs work. It's pretty hard and we couldn't break it up easily. Cookie was dry and not something we would get again. The bar was also pretty hard, but the flavors were nice.

The bathroom and restaurant could also use a good cleaning.

Then, we went back near the end of our trip to get a few more! They were sold out, but there's a number to call and the baker's husband brought out a few piping hot loaves of bread. Wow!!! It's even more amazing when it's hot. I do a lot of baking and I make a lot of banana muffins, and even I'm impressed with Jeanette's skill. The bread is perfectly caramelized on the outside, the sprinkle of crushed mac nuts and sugar on top, with the moist interior is just perfect. Our kids were fighting daily at breakfast for the "end pieces", lol! We'll definitely be back someday! Mahalo!

It's moist and flavorful, definitely one of the best banana breads I've had while visiting the Hawaiian islands. It's also super affordable at $4 per loaf. You pay via honor system through Venmo. When we arrived around 6:15pm, there were no more loaves in the cooler but there were a few phone numbers with a note posted on the cooler that said to please call if there were no more loaves so they can bring some up :) The owners are super kind and happily brought up some more loaves so we can purchase some. I think they said they filled the cooler with 52 loaves before they left for the day! I don't have a picture of the loaves because we ate them so quickly but just trust me when I say this is a must stop and you won't regret it!

The road was narrow with many turns, but it worth the drive. Received warm welcome from Tara after parking on the ground floor. While talking about their move from New York and their works in Hawaii, we were joined by Ed on the upper level. He talked about his visions to keep and operate this coffee farm in all-nature ways to keep certified as organic. Even with some diseases on the tree roots, they used the nature and sustainable methods to control possible spreading and to treat the bacteria. The tasting was then hosted by Jessada. He explained from the volcano's contributions, tree growing, coffee cherries, hand picking, washing, fermenting, drying, grading, roasting, and more. They even separated those fancy peaberries! We were able to enjoy both freshly milled and brewed medium and dark roasted coffees. Those were our youngest family member's first ever coffee! He also talked about growing and caring turmeric. We bought multiple packs of their coffee beans and one pound of turmeric to go. We then walked about their farms and also saw papayas, bananas, avocados, and other tropical fruits. The entire visit was highly professional, knowledgable and educational! We received warmest welcome from Tara, Ed and Jessada.

Don't let the slick website fool you. This is a mom and pop, 2 people with an idea/dream who made it a reality. If mass market produced, easy parking and quick stop with bathroom is your vibe, this ain't it. I made my reservation on the website, we received a confirmation, and a text with directions, my maps app did just fine. We had a late start and since it was a Sunday and not overbooked Ed way kind enough to say still come we will see you when you get here. The turn off was easy to miss, and the road up the hill is not for the timid driver- we did fine in our rental sedan going slow, but an suv, our something with higher clearance would be more forgiving. The roads are local and small, be polite and use pull outs for letting other cars by. The pay off is views of the coast, the mountain, coffee - blossoms, berries and picked trees. It is other worldly in an agricultural Willy wonky way. Then you arrive... Ed met us on the road and directed us to park in his carport. It is a home, with an in basement tasting room where you discover the magic Ed and Tara have been brewing. Ahem. We sampled a medium and dark roast. I will state for the record I am no coffee snob. I don't know enough about coffee to have opinions. But the coffee we had today was other worldly good. I think it was pour over style in this cool contraption that reminded me of an ice cream cone holder with sample cups collecting the coffee below. Ed heated the water to 174 precisely. He amiably chatted about his family's story and what a designation of Kona Coffee means. Small batch hand processed coffee is special and comes with an expensive price. As I stood in the farm basement, which is a cluttered mash up of tools, farm equipment, packaging materials and bags of beans- this is a labour of love and inspiration. The coffee was hands down the best I have ever had - European, African, Costa Rican- nothing tastes like Rooster Farms Kona. It is like tasting the island aloha in a cup. We bought 3 bags for $100. We will make that last long time, and fun fact, they offer mail order so replenishing is possible. The tasting is free. Walking the grounds allowed, but no formal tour. Bottom line: Authentic, sincere, and an amazing cup of true Kona coffee. Off the beaten tourist path and a real experience. 10/10 no notes.

We had a hard time even picking what to get, as there were so many delicious options and they were still warm when we got there early in the day. We shared a ham and cheese bread and a macadamia nut brownie. Both were SO GOOD and I love how adorable the baking stand is. I really appreciated that it was easy (honor system paying) and that it was set up as a quick pick up and go. Honestly, the cute bread stand was a highlight of my trip and I'll be sure to go back when we visit the Kona side of the island again.
