Ok the ramen is good, but I've had better. Jinya in Burbank still has my heart, but I could see this Tonkotsu being a future craving. The crispy rice with spicy tuna is LEGIT downside is you only get three pieces. The pork gyoza was good but kinda greasy - still would reorder tho! Food came out super fast yet we had to wait a bit for drink refills. My husband reallllllllly enjoyed the saki and my Sapporo was satisfying as always.... Parking is easy and the atmosphere is very inviting. Overall, I'll keep searching out my new Ramen spot, but this is a good hold over until I find the hidden gem in Nashville. read more

Unique Japanese dishes, including quality ramen! It's a small space, so I would recommend making a reservation if you can. Also, be aware that they have a policy of not letting customers take home ramen leftovers (not a problem for me because I always finish my ramen, but this may be a negative for others). Seaweed Salad: 5/5 This was not the typical fluorescent green seaweed salad that's usually served at Japanese restaurants, and I was thankful. The different types of seaweed and other veggies all complemented each other, leading to a fresh and bright combination of flavors. Great way to start the meal! Takoyaki: 5/5 These deep-fried balls of dough with octopus inside (essentially octopus hush puppies) were absolutely delicious! The miso butter served on the side was packed with umami flavor (couldn't stop eating it, even after we had finished all the takoyaki), and the octopus was tender and not overly chewy. One thing is I do wish there was more octopus within each takoyaki, as it felt like there was only a single piece inside each one. Garlic Noodles: 4/5 Rich and buttery, with some heat from the black pepper, these noodles were decadent! However, since this item is named "garlic noodles" and the menu advertises "crab butter" in this dish, I wish the noodles had a stronger flavor profile, as I could only really taste cream and not much garlic or crab flavor. Tonkotsu Ramen: 5/5 All the ingredients were prepared well, especially the pork belly (crispy to bite into and then melted in your mouth afterwards), the egg (soft yolk with firm whites), and the noodles (had a little but not too much chew). Everything worked well together, but I do have to caution that for this ramen, the broth is on the fattier side. I didn't have a problem with this and was able to finish the broth, but this may not be the case for others. Tori Paitan Shoyu Ramen: 5/5 This is a spicier variety of ramen, as it's flavored with rayu (chili oil). The egg was cooked perfectly again, the noodles had the little bite that they should have had, and the chicken meatballs were tasty and tender, but I would have liked to have been given more than two. Other than that, all the ingredients complemented each other, and the ramen as a whole was well-balanced. Abura Soba: 5/5 This was an interesting dish, as it was listed under the ramen section as a "brothless ramen". These noodles were thicker but were still cooked to have the right amount of chew. The egg was also prepared properly (3/3!, which is impressive). As a lover of spiciness, I especially liked the crunchy rayu (chili oil) spooned on top of the dish. I also appreciated the fusion ingredient of country ham, as it imparted a smokiness to the noodles, although it probably made the dish a little too salty at times. Service: 5/5 Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Because I prefer drinking ice water, I always ask for a glass of ice at a restaurant if the water originally has no ice in it. What impressed me about the service here is that without me asking, our server brought me a new glass of ice when I had finished the old one. Honestly, I used to love this place. But it also used to be a bit of a novelty in Nashville, as it was the only place that offered this level of Ramen. In the last several years, other places have popped up. I've discovered I tend to frequent these other spots because they are easier to get in (and slightly better). Two Ten has always had a great atmosphere, and that certainly has not gone away. However, something about the staff has changed. I recently went in on a Friday night, there was was a 45 min wait for 2 (to be expected). So I walked in to the bar, found a couple of spots and posted up. I ordered drinks and while I was waiting, the host approached me and was VERY rude. I was so caught off guard in the moment that I wasn't even able to respond. He basically yelled at us for sitting at the bar and he had other people in front of us. I've been in Nashville over a decade and have been going to Two Ten almost that entire time. From what I remember, the bar has always been open seating. Just like EVERY other restaurant bar in Nashville. I have no issue with the policy changing, but the host could have at least approached the situation without a negative attitude and explained that the bar was no longer open seating. Instead, he said "it hasn't been for years". The bartender almost immediately corrected that saying it has just changed during COVID. HOWEVER, I was just there last summer and the bar was open seating. I worked in food service for 15 years and this was absolutely unacceptable. I'm sorry to say I will not be going back here. There are other ramen places, and they are better. The Tonkatsu broth at Two Ten is incredible, I have to give them that. But black dynasty and otaku are doing amazing things and I've never had a bad experience. read more

So simple yet so powerful. Was just here a few days ago with two friends and as per usual it was a delicious experience. We got the takoyaki, the short rib and the crispy Brussels to start. The takoyaki was fab. The octopus is very understated and I would recommend this even if you're not a fan of seafood. Short rib is expertly flavored and the perfect texture. But my fave- the stand out star- crispy Brussels. I'm hard pressed not to drink the sauce out of the bottom of the bowl after I finish polishing off the greens and stabbing my friends with chopsticks so I get the biggest portion. For my main I did the noodles, duh. And two choices from the yakitori, corn and wagyu beef stuffed shishito peppers. I would probably pass on the corn next time (ugh yes my mind went there too as I typed it, gross) but the corn isn't particularly flavorful despite claiming it had miso butter + horseradish. The peppers are dope. Imagine your mom's stuffed peppers but like not sad. Ambience is always amazing. Pretty good cocktails. Service is about average, though I do love the warmed towels. I loved everything about this place. For one, it's a comfortable and properly spread out environment. There is a bar in the center next to the kitchen, a covered patio, and an indoor dining space. The food was served hot, came out fast after it was ordered, and was very delicious. Everything was so flavorful and unique, as well as cooked perfectly from the noodles to the meat. A waiter can make or break an experience at a restaurant and ours did not disappoint. He was so attentive. He gave us recommendations for popular dishes then later brought us some more options for dishes we wouldn't have thought of ordering, which we really appreciated as we are good food people. He was personable, well versed on the establishment, and also an expert on the food, which made it a very enjoyable dining experience. So enjoyable, that we forgot to take pictures. read more

Ok. So let's start with the fact that I'm not a Ramen girl. But if I am ever in the mood Two Ten Jack is where I like to go. They really haven't ever disappointed me. 2 times I've gotten the same thing just to be comfortable and both times they were equally as good and consistent. The Wagyu short rib is so good, every time I get it I want more. The chicken broth ramen is good and perfect for a cold day, I personally always take the collards out just because I'm not a fan and I still love it. The sushi I could live without I do find it a little too overpriced for basic rolls but otherwise I'm always completely satisfied, it's definitely a cool little place. read more

My first experience ever started off on the wrong foot... My sister and I were skipped over in the waitlist line up. Only when we stood up to inquire about when we'd be able to sit did a table "magically pop up" for us. Me and my sister had not been there before so we definitely had some questions about the menu and that seemed to annoy our waiter who wanted to be anywhere else but our table it seemed. He was already walking away, before we could even say whether we needed something. And lastly, the food just wasn't necessarily our cup of tea. We were just expecting more options for ramen with broth. We didn't particularly love the pork gyozas either, and we both love ramen and gyozas. On a positive note, the yellowtail jalepeño was definitely the best I've had of that dish compared to anywhere else! I gave Two Ten Jack four stars for these reasons: 1) The cocktails are always well balanced and often not flavors you get at other restaurants. I've had the onibaba, the japanese gin + tonic (I mean, they make their own tonic and it's delicious), and the yuzu sour. 2) The small plates are great! Some say they're overpriced, and some of them are (side-eying the brussel sprouts). I LOVE the pickles. I know what you're thinking--they're just pickles. But the next time, we're getting two orders because wow. I hadn't had pickled shitakes before and that was a mistake. The yellowtail jalapeño was also exactly what you would expect it would be and although I'm nervous about sushi in Nashville, it was great. 3) The service is always great and the ambiance is energetic. Being on the covered patio sucks unless you enjoy eating next to stacks of chairs and having a revolving door of guests enter in and out of each door. 3) But: the ramen is unfortunately not good. "Not good" in this context has little to do with authenticity. The second time I visited I got the tonkotsu (pork ramen). The broth was flavorless and extremely fat-forward, so much so that the texture in your mouth is almost gummy. I didn't finish it. Overall, I'll go again but avoid the ramen. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. It came highly recommended by a friend and it's in the neighborhood. Said friend and I sat at the bar, loved our bartender and enjoyed our small plates and drinks. We were deciding on if we should have one more drink when a different bartender brought us our check. I told her that we actually were going to stay for one more round, and asked her if she could grab it. They were out of house red so when she asked whet we'd like instead my friend asked for price points on wine (not a crazy ?) and she was annoyed. She came back and rattled the wines off and before allowing us to respond walked away- and didn't come back. We couldn't get her attention and when I got up and walked over to her she told me she was extremely busy...I work at a restaurant- I have a lot of Grace for people but she wasn't that busy and was honestly just being rude. Finally out OG and amazing bartender came to check on us at which point we asked her for the check because we were late to a show. Stupidly I just gave her my card and we closed out. When I got home I realized we'd been charged for the last round of drinks we never received. I reached out to just let them know and was responded to by the manager- who was very apologetic and said to make up for the inconvenience would refund us for the overcharge as well as one of our small plates and a round on the house. I thought that was really kind and expressed my gratitude....unfortunately I never received the refund. At this point it's not even about the money- it's the principle. I followed up by email and phone - never received a response. I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt - but actions speak louder than words. Most of all, this restaurant went above and beyond when it came to accommodating allergies, as every server came out and said our allergies as they put the food on the table. We dove in deep on the small plates and yakitori. If I go again, that is where I will keep my ordering! Personally. It was time to eat intuitively and my body needed serious protein after a long drive and day. We throughly enjoyed the Pork Belly and Salmon Nanbanzuke. However, I wasn't a fan of the JFC. I was exporting a fried chicken with Korean dressing but it was dry. The spice was tasty. But I'm not a dry chicken person. For those who enjoy that, it will be pleasurable. The ramen didn't impress me as I hoped. The pork belly was basically noodles. And, for many people, they like their ramen that way. I'm not a noodle or pasta person. I'm also bias. I've been here twice. Both times I left disappointed. My first visit was over a year ago. I entered with some friends, went to the bar area, and we waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge our existence (on an evening that was not very busy). We caught a glance or two, but nobody every came over to us. For context, we're pretty "normal-looking" people. Perhaps, we weren't hipster enough? Anyways, after 15 minutes, we just left. I wasn't planning on returning, but figured I'd give it another shot, hoping there would be a new staff and/or manager. My experience the second time around was not nearly as bad as the first. We had to share a table with some other folks who came along later, which we didn't really mind, but just a heads up for those who like to dine alone. The food wasn't bad, but it was nowhere near as good as the prices would indicate. $12 for noodles you could fit in your hand? Yikes. Even $10 for the brussel sprouts seemed a few dollars high as it was also pretty small. Our waiter was friendly enough, but the service was SLOW. We ordered our food (garlic noodles, Brussel sprouts, and one bowl of Tori Paitan) and ended up waiting about 40 minutes to receive it. We were there before things got busier, but it still took a while. This might help another reviewer, but a couple sat next to us about 10-15 minutes after we arrived and received their food before we did. Not sure how that happened, but it is what it is. The vibe, the food, the drinks, the service are all TOP NOTCH. We went to TTJ for our son's graduation from Vanderbilt and it served every need of our special occasion. Our server was thoughtful, funny, attentive and generous. Every element of our experience was superb, but NOTHING, I mean NOTHING compares to the Tonkotsu broth. It is creamy, delicious, perfectly spiced and holds the flavor of the noodles and veggies in a divine sea of goodness. Tips: get the chili oil. My friend was a bit confused that this Asian themed restaurant played '90's hip hop & RnB yet I enjoyed the playlist. I got the spicy crab noodles and enjoyed every bite of it. The crab sauce makes you look for a piece of bread to clean the bowl with lol. The heritage sausage is nothing to brag about and the mustard wasn't hot. Being a huge fan of ramen myself, I had heard about Two Ten Jack for about a year before finally able to make there to enjoy some of the tasty ramen. My girlfriend, two friends, and myself went on a Friday night (reservations are pretty much required, no matter when you plan on going). THE ATMOSPHERE: The space within Two Ten Jack is very cozy and mixes classic Japanese style with a modern twist. The lighting is very dim but not too dim where it's actually difficult to see or read anything. We were sat at a long wooden bench and shared the other end with another couple. They do have booths available if you'd like to have a space just to yourselves and your party. THE FOOD: Like I said at the beginning, I'm a huge ramen fan and love diving into a piping hot bowl of noodles. I had heard so much about their ramen and couldn't wait to try it. We ordered the Takoyaki as an app (hush puppy / octopus / miso butter) and that was quite delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. On to the main attraction, we ordered both the Pork Broth Ramen (Tonkotsu) and the Chicken Broth Ramen (tori paitan shoyu). I will say, the ramen we had was very good, and arguably one of the best in Nashville, but I was not blown away with how good it was. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it and like I said, it was very good, but compared to the places I've had elsewhere like Chicago, it was not up to par to those. SUMMARY: Overall, Two Ten Jack is a great date spot or a place to grab a really great bowl of ramen. But, I'm honestly not entirely sure why we needed to make a reservation two weeks in advance and why they are consistently jam-packed. The food we had was delicious but in my opinion it did not live up 100% to the hype that people make it out to be. Now, I will say that we only tried the ramen and one appetizer to it is entirely possible that the rest of the menu is amazing. I plan on revisiting in the future to try additional dishes. read more
