    2 Orders Boneless Chicken
    Hyeonmi S.

    funny thing is my friends and i walked in here thinking it was potions and poisons (left of this store) but it was a pleasant experience haha ordered two boneless chickens with the soy garlic and hot & spicy sauce as well as some french fries the french fries seemed freshly made and the chicken was really flavorful as well! definitely give this place a try they were also playing the lakers game on screen and everyone inside was watching the game parking at night was $3 cash for validation here

    I came here just to get the sides because another nearby chicken place literally just had chicken and it's hard to eat Korean Fried Chicken without radish and fries. I made the extra stop here and got two orders of fries, an order of sweet potato fries and two orders of radish. They make to order so it took a little while but the fries were fine and I don't usually like SP fries but these were pretty good. Radish was a little on the sweeter side, I like it a little sharper and more vinegar-y but was good otherwise. Will I finish the circle and make a complete order? Yes.

    ~~~ANNOINT YOUR CHICKEN WITH WASABI~~~ WATCH THE EPISODE: FIELD DAY² CALIFORNIA MARKETPLACE (YT:@BULGOGIBOMBER) WASABI BONELESS CHICKEN - Warning! This is a teetor toter. You will either love it or hate it. The green wasabi sauce looks like a work of art or a trash goop pile depending on the eyes of the beholder. Luckily, I happen to be on the positive side. This is a dish that has a kick and gives your nose a zinger from the wasabi sauce. Coupled with freshly cut onions, it gives off a refreshing flavor. I prefer this over the typical marinades that Korean Fried Chicken get dosed in because those tend to be for those who are chasing the greasy, oily, salty, sweet experience. The chicken was subpar and wasn't up to my crunchy standards but I admire the boldness to have this flavor experience available. The staff that day was very sweet and hospitable. Located inside the market, it's more of a to-go venture but there are tables available to enjoy your meal but it is a bit cramped and expect to have many people pass by a lot on a busy market day.
    Wasn't good as before. Ordered about $78 worth of chicken and they didn't even include few dipping sauce like others do. Fried is bland taste and the spicy soy was not spicy at all. Updating menu since they don't have a good one for those who still want to try their chicken.
    Enjoying lunch on the hood.
    I love this place. The soy garlic wings were made fresh to order and the California Market location means one can shop around while waiting. This is my favorite Korean style fried chicken location in all Socal; what a hidden gem. Also, the workers are nice which is the cherry on top.
    I had this fried chicken at a meeting at UCLA. Perfectly crispy, golden, and bursting with flavor, with tender, juicy meat inside--simply unforgettable! The best fried chicken ever!
    Worst chicken ever!! Please do NOT waste your money The chicken smells so gross and the texture is super dry Even radishes are unbelievably bad!
    Who can say no to fried chicken. We stayed at the hotel across the street and didn't know this was here. We had to make sure we made it here before our trip was over. The Tteokbokki was fabulous and the spiciness was perfect. Got my nose running a little bit but I enjoyed it. I even dipped the chicken in that sauce too because it was that good. Glad we made a trip here. Wish we had more days to try all the restaurants in the area.
    Twozone has easily become our go-to Korean fried chicken place. It's been reliably delicious and is still wonderful and crispy as takeout. It's convenient that there is a location in the grocery store of California Market. The order can take a really long time, so best to place the order and pick up after you're done shopping. There was a little seating area, but it's pretty cramped and you overhear a lot of other conversations. One unique thing about this location from the one on 6th is that it has fried chicken burgers and legs as menu items. Maybe you can get them at the other location, but it's not listed like it is here.
    Yummy chicken! Been wanting to try this place for a while and it didn't disappoint. We got half servings of the Sauce Mixed Chicken, Oriental Green Onion Chicken, and Wasabi Chicken all with bone-in. Everything tasted great and I appreciated how the sauce came separately on the side (ordered to-go) to prevent the chicken from getting mushy. It's located on the first floor of California Marketplace next to Tous Les Jours making it super easy to grab takeout while getting groceries. Service was great as well :)
    Whole chicken - soy garlic and mixed sauce
    This place was a bit hard to find. My friend and I went up to the 3rd floor where all the restaurants were but couldn't find it - turns out that Twozone was on the 1st floor, next to Tous Le Jours. We ordered a whole chicken (soy garlic and mixed sauces). We waited about 20 minutes before receiving our order, which also included free radish. I was a bit worried the mixed sauces chicken would be spicy since it was so red compared to the soy garlic but it was only mildly spicy. Both flavors were so really good and I would come back to try the other flavors. There's not a whole lot of seating since there's only a few chairs and tables so it might be best to get this chicken to-go. There's a parking structure shared by California Marketplace and all the other shops in the building.
I ordered the quarter bird with mild spice, fries, and banana pudding. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the mild spice level was perfect for me. It had a little kick without being too spicy. The fries were really good and seasoned well. I also enjoyed the banana pudding, which was a nice sweet treat after the meal. One thing that stood out to me was how friendly the employees were. Even though it was busy, they were welcoming and provided great customer service, which made the experience even better. Overall, I had a great experience. Between the delicious food and the friendly staff, I can see why so many people recommend this place. I'd definitely come back again when I'm craving hot chicken.
    Winner Winner Chicken errr... Lunch…read more So we are always skeptical if there is way too much hype surrounding a eatery. However in the case of Howlin Ray's the hype is justified. The staff were super friendly and on point The Food: (A word on heat. They have 6 levels from Country with none to Howlin. We can take a decent amount of heat. I went medium and my son went hot. The medium was just the right balance with a nice burn especially on the back end. The next level, hot, was also really good and hit close to our limit) The Sando: a nice sized chicken breast perfectly fried. The chicken was moist but well cooked and the batter was seasoned perfectly. The slaw added a nice crunch to things, the comeback sauce added richness and the pickles added a brinney crunch to offset the goodness. The bun put up a valiant effort but about of the way through it gave up and the Sando became a fork affair. The Slaw: It was just okay, on the sando it was perfect, on its own, just okay The Macaroni Salad: Glorious, simply glorious. Whatever spicing they were using with the fries seemed evident here giving it a reddish hue. The the bits of dill, onions, and pickles helped balance the whole thing perfectly. This would be right at home on a North Shore plate lunch. Shake Fries: Perfectly fired crinkle fries shaken in that spicing they use. Dipped in the comeback sauce or on their own they were awesome. Banana Pudding: OMG so good. With the traditional vanilla wafer on top. Rich and luscious it was a perfect end to the meal. The only downside? This location is small and if you want to eat there there are only a few tables. Parking also sucked. Those thinks aside excellent place
The other one was some kind of sweet, cherry (?) jam thing that didn't go well with the chicken at all. It felt like it was just thrown in, and there was wayyy too much of that jam. Happies is located in Arts District and I came here on a Sunday dinner and didn't have any problems with parking. But, I can see how it might be hard to find if you come during peak hours. The restaurant was pretty empty. First thing I noticed was that there were tons of employees but no one really said anything. Since there was no one ordering, they were all standing around. You can just order at the kiosk but I wanted to ask a few questions but was kind of left to fend for myself. I ended up ordering the chicken tenders and chicken tenders with salad. I thought the restaurant ambience was nice. And after waiting for about 10 minutes, my order came out. They gave me extra sauce but again no explanation on why the extra sauce was provided. As for the food, I thought the chicken was kind of bland. I expected some Sichuan style but hardly any spice on the chicken. Once of the sauces was a Sichuan chili crisp, which gave the chicken more taste. Maybe the chicken was bland because I was supposed to dip it in the sauces? Aside from that, the other sauces were average (ranch and sweet/sour sauce). The salad was definitely a huge miss. They didn't dress the salad properly and only put dressing on top, so I just got a bunch of romaine lettuce at the end. The best part of my meal was the fries, which was crispy and fresh. Excellent chicken sandwich, but the corn ribs IMO were the star of the show (but this is coming from someone who really, really loves a good corn on the cob). - The corn ribs were flavorful, well-seasoned, and super juicy!! And the portion was definitely more than it looks, especially when eaten alongside the sandwich! - The chicken sandwich was equally full of flavor. The chicken was tender in the center and crispy on the edges in the best way. The coleslaw inside was fresh, and the buns were nice and soft! The marinade used for the chicken leans a little sweet, so if that's your jam then you'll like this sandwich. (Personally I prefer a more savory profile, hence my personally ranking the corn ribs #1.) :) Parking: - Parking is tough for the area; it took us a while to find a spot. We ended up street parking a few blocks away and walking over. Dining in: - The line got long QUICK and there was a constant stream of orders (both for dine-in and carry-out) while we were eating there. There's also minimal seating in the restaurant itself, just a few tables available--so be prepared for that as well! - Design, branding, and interior aesthetic were all nice and cohesive; I appreciated looking at it all while we dined. :) All in all, wouldn't mind coming by again!
I can make better tasting chicken with my eyes closed and arms wrapped behind my back. Chicken had ZERO flavor. I mean ZERO. Super bland, some salt would have helped it out very much so. That could have used some love too. Where is all the flavor? No seriously. I just watched Jacks diner and blakesmunchies on IG before I ordered my sando and was like Ffffuh yeah. Then when it came zero comparison to reviewers who got payed to boast their revenue. Total sham. Major scam. Now SCRAM! No seriously, you should see the size of the sandwiches these guys are eating then look at yours. How typical. These IG reviewers really know how and who they need to target to get people into the door. It's such a crazy industry, almost fool proof. A "great logo", neutral colors, decent variety of products and last 1k-5-10k review fees to bring in an X amount of sales. The corn bread was the size of a Twinkie. The only thing I can say that was decently flavored was the Mac n cheese. Yet it's due to the nostalgic yellow gooey cheese like sauce that made it into some delectable. This place is truly mid and lacking proper service. Utensils were left out after asking for them cause obviously they want you to eat the Mac n cheese with either your hands or a sauce lid. Sub par, nothing special, can't emphasize on that enough. I'm out!
The chicken had a nice kick to it, so if you're sensitive to spice, you may want to consider one of the milder options. I enjoyed the heat, but it was definitely noticeable. The bowls were a good size and came with plenty of food. The combination of the spicy chicken, sweet yams, and charred broccoli worked really well together and made for a satisfying lunch. It was one of those meals that managed to be both healthy and tasty, which is harder to find than it should be. If you're dining in, you can also ask them to substitute the rice, making it an even better option for those looking for a lower-carb, high-protein meal. The guacamole was another standout. It tasted freshly made, was well seasoned, and paired perfectly with the chips.
