After an appointment down the street, I figured, what a great day to grab some wings! I actually came here on a super hot summer day in July, nearly 100° outside. Walked in and was pretty surprised there was no one around. (Head-scratch) OK, I'll try them anyways. No one at the counter either. I checked out the menu board and just waited, np. Out comes, possibly the owner or cook, whom was helpful about the types of wings and sauces but that was about it with the interaction. I guess helpful enough, even thought I've never been here. So I went with the 12-piece Bone-in Wing Combo (@ $29.49), which also comes with fries and coleslaw. The sauces I chose were the galbi and hot honey mustard as recommended. At first, I wasn't sure which wings were which, meaning they both almost looked the same. But obviously the hot honey mustard was lighter in color versus the galbi. The wings were crispy and excellent, but a tad bit over saucy. I wish I had more crisp on the outside. Maybe I'll ask for sauce on the side next time. Also, the big box of Crinkle Fries were decent, but I thought the coleslaw for some reason was very peppery. I didn't understand why. I guess that's their style of slaw, idk. After seeing this spot always closed on my night runs to Snowy Village next door, I made the effort to head out early for once and try this Korean fried chicken spot out! The inside can be a bit tight but there's seating enough for about 20-25 people (including outside seating). The staff is very kind and friendly to talk to, and service is overall pretty fast! They have probably the biggest selection in Portland for wing flavors and I also love how they allow different add-ons into your ddeokbokki. The wings are absolutely the best in Portland. They're big and still crispy on the outside when you get them, yet very saucy at the same time. Portions are generous. The corn dogs are also great and I just wish they offered more options as they are also so delicious. I'm so glad this area has new businesses opening up and even better that it's a korean fried chicken spot! They have been open for just a couple of months and honestly you're greeted by the owner and his family and they are the SWEETEST people ever. You should come here just for that alone! The sauces had a kick and I liked that the wings were coated but not drenched in the sauce that could make them soggy. The fries here tasted as they were fresh cut and not out of the bag and the tteokbokki has extra spice on top to give even more kick. The parking is atrocious so make sure you go a little early to account for that! 10 piece wings - half spicy soy and half hot n spicy . Man I love me some Korean Fried Chicken (the OG KFC), and I think I've finally found the best spicy wings in portland. For me it's mostly a to go joint bc they only have a couple small tables inside and no beer which is key, how can you have chicken wings without beer? Also, the hot & spicy here is seriously spicy, it usually takes me more than an hour to eat 10 wings since I need a bathroom break to blow my nose/breathe between each wing. But I keep coming back for them and I don't often order the same thing multiple times even if I enjoyed it as I like trying something new each time. You have the choice of either traditional or crispy wings, choose crispy for sure (which is traditional for me). Also have tried their duckbokki (spicy Rice Cakes) which was very good, served with ramen noodles so I guess it's actually rabokki (Ramen duckbokki). It was garnished with some fresh greens that gave some extra crunch and freshness to the dish. All in all, my favorite KFC spot in the city so far. I was super excited to try this place! I live near by but their hours are so inconsistant, it's hard to catch them! The chicken was SO bad! it was dry dry dry, no flavor... definitely not brined, definitely not seasoned. The sauce was really thick with a very undesirable texture. Chicken and corn dogs are delicious and the service is phenomenal. I ordered the ten piece wings with bulgogi and spicy soy sauces. My husband ordered the tenders with sweet and sour which came with perfectly salty fries, cheese sauce, and a roll. Really an amazing amount of food for the price. We tried their soy garlic wings today and was blown away by the quality of the meat and how hot (literally tastes like it came out straight from the fryer) the wings were.
