When we asked if she would put the draft on, her response, "I mean, I guess, but we only have local channels." Very unfriendly and her attitude showed us she wasn't interested in us being there. My friend and I went in. We had on mask. Nobody else had on a mask. The bartender had a mask on his chin. It was very smoky. When he saw us he did not speak he just looked at us and rolled his eyes. When he came over he still did not speak. He told us in a very loud voice he needed us to pull out our license and pull down our mask so he could see our faces. I don't have any problems showing my id because I have to do that often. It was just his demeanor. He insisted on putting the license in his hand and he insisted on us taking our mask all the way off. His tone was very demanding. It was as if he didn't want us in there. After showing our Id we decided not to order anything, because of the bartender's rude behavior. I definitely will not go back. I will take my business elsewhere. This place is a divey bar steps from the sand. Of course as you know, you can take your drinks to go in this town so they are all served in styrofoam cups. When we entered on this weeknight, it was one of the only places around that was open so it was decently crowded. The people there seemed to be mostly regulars. The staff was friendly and let us sample basically anything we wanted. I ended up getting one of the many flavors they offer and was satisfied both with the strength of the drink and the amount. I love how most of the 1-star review of this place are from people who didn't actually go inside! We were here a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. There was no door person, it wasn't terribly busy, and the drinks were awesome. Very tasty, and quite strong! The bartender was friendly and spent just as much time with the tourists as she did with the locals. While visiting Tybee, my wife and I decided to venture down to the "main strip" on a Saturday night in November and check out the nightlife. My quick yelp search showed two popular places: Tybee time and wet willies. As both serve frozen daiquiris, I had my heart set on at least trying the local option. Tybee time is definitely a dive bar. While sitting at the bar, which had basically no one in it, drinking our frozen drinks of choice, I watched the bartender make an incredibly strong drink. So strong that I was shocked how much alcohol went into it and I commented on it to my wife. Then the bartender put the lid on it and proceeded to drink it! We had our one drink here and ventured out for dinner and then to wet willies. I'd like to support the local establishment, but the place was outdated and appeared to be populated only by local drunkards, who enjoyed doing additional shots with the bartender. read more

It's a tradition for me to get a Rum Runner to take to the beach when I'm on the Island. It's pretty funny, because I am NOT a frozen drink person, but it's the strongest of all their frozen concoctions. There are like 10 of them & you can mix & match. Great spot with good AC to get out of the heat to get a cold beer. If you're in luck you'll have Sarah as your bartender. She's super sweet & very cool to talk to. She also gave us great tips on where to eat. The local advice is always best & she didn't steer us wrong. We had to come back & thank her after dinner for sure. read more

Tybee Times is a magical oasis in the desert of dive bars across America. Every year I drive 16 hours with my best friends just for these frozen drinks. The staff is incredibly accommodating. When I asked for a Strawberry Daiquiri, she replied, "Honey you dont want that, its virgin. Have a Hurricane Rum Runner, its our strongest one". She knew exactly why I was there, for good vibes and stiff drinks. Take your drink to go and head to the beach. Typically you will see some good looking 1s frolicking on the beach, tossing a frisbee with a Tybee Time in hand. And if your lucky, you might run into this crowd at the bar that night belting out tunes on the karaoke (these guys have some serious pipes!) As others have already stated - best frozen drinks ever! Seriously. They come with a warning about their alcohol content and the warning is very necessary. You don't taste the alcohol at all but you definitely feel it. I fell in love with the Kiwi-Strawberry one. The bar itself is a hole in the wall but those are usually the best places to let it all hang out. And most did. The local flavor came out in force and oh was it a special treat for the eyes. I don't recall ever being in a place where I could watch good ole boys pimping leather jackets (with rebel flags on the back) pop lock and dropping it to Tupac, Drake and Biggie. It was surreal. This bar is located around the corner from the main stretch of the Tybee pier. It was relatively crowded when we came. But a while later, the large group in the back left and the place quickly felt empty. But this was s till a fun, typical sports bar. We played darts the whole time and drank reasonably priced beers. We went to the beach and decided it was time for a drink! It was a Thursday afternoon and some places weren't open just yet so we walked into here. Honestly, the best thing about our visit was the bartender. She was a little older, but was full of spunk and wisdom beyond her years. She made you feel like you were an old friend even if you were a tourist. She had a little car to "drive" the samples to the people. So fun! We both got frozen daiquiris-- so good! So my mom frequents Tybee island a lot... I mean a lot a lot. This is her absolute favorite spot and I can see why. It's pretty divey, but it also has a very homey, comforting vibe and the staff does a good job of making everyone feel welcome. They have a nice selection of frozen daiquiri's. I suggest trying the rum-runner if you're trying to get a little twisted there on Tybee, it has Bacardi 151 in it, so it comes with a nice little kick. Unlike most places around the country, this bar actually allows you to smoke inside, which is really odd to me. It didn't really bother me though because they usually keep the door open and there's usually a nice breeze circulating the air around there. $7 for a seriously strong frozen drink that you can enjoy on the beach - how can you go wrong with that?? They have a whole range of flavors. I went with the Hurricane. It wasn't the tastiest drink ever (tasted a teensy tiny bit like cough syrup), but it was nice and sweet and refreshing. I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it while lying on the sand listening to the waves. Being able to get drinks to go is the best thing ever. The location of this shop is amazing. This place has the best frozen drinks ever! The entire bar is lined with about 12 or so slushy machines, each with a different flavor. I believe the one I had most recently was a Hurricane. But watch out--they are not exactly light on the alcohol. One is probably as many as I would recommend for anyone who is not looking to get sick. As an added bonus, they have a DJ playing fun and very dancable tunes on busier nights. Last time I was there, we were dancing around to Sweet Home Alabama, Electric Slide, along with your more typical dance club music. Definitely a fun spot! read more

I got dragged to the beach as part of a surprise outing for work. Don't ask. Needless to say, I was wearing tennis shoes and jeans and was not about to frolic in the sand and surf. Thank god for this place. While looking for an ATM to buy a drink on the pier, I stumbled into this place and saw the gloriousness that is their wall of frozen drinks. Be still, my beating heart. The bartenders were friendly, prompt, and mixed up some frozen concoctions for several of my coworkers and myself. The drinks were sweet, decently strong, and refreshing. I wasn't a fan of the clientele--a few skeezy guys making weird eyes at women and who knew people could still smoke in doors? Wasn't that made illegal like 20 years ago? I guess not in the south... This was probably one of our most memorable experiences from our Savannah / Tybee vacation, and it came out of NOWHERE. We were waiting for a cab to come pick us up (we had 20 mins) so we figured we'd have a quick drink here. We walk in and it's just the bartender and one other guy. She immediately calls us out for being "not from here" since we didn't order a drink to go. Truth be told, we had no idea Tybee also had the open container laws. She immediately starts giving us samples from the slushie machines (I was honestly about to order a Bud Light) - this sample is 100 proof, this is 90 proof, you get the picture. Each sample was sent to us via a small toy car that she zipped down the bar. It was literally out of a movie and I didn't hate it. She ended up making me a mixed concoction of the banana and white Russian slush. Lethal. We heard her entire life story, saw pictures and videos from hurricane Irma, learned about her cat...it literally made my day. She also recommended that we go visit her friend who owned Inferno hot sauce (which we did and bought a number of items). All I have to say is I hope if you go here, you have the same experience we did. read more

I love this place! They have the friendliest staff and patrons. Everyone is just there to have a great time and that alone makes for one of the best atmospheres on the beach. I've only ever had their frozen drinks and let me tell you, they put Wet Willies to SHAME! In my opinion, the drinks here at Tybee Time taste much better and are stronger. While spending time peddling the roadways around Tybee, make sure you stop in for your daily sugar rush. There are numerous liquefied confections in the form of frozen daiquiris from banana to margarita, rum runner to kiwi. I went with the standard margarita, and it helped me cool down instantly. Don't expect your Don Julio variety. I am normally a tequila-phile. It is more about a quick quench (and likely a sun-booze headache later, if you're not careful). The bartendress was smiley and kept it simple. As everywhere in Savannah, get your drink in a to-go cup. I took my refreshing beverage to the beach, where it continued to keep me cool.
