I have been here many times because it is the most well known boba chain in my area. Previously I would have rated 3 starts but recently they have improved. Beverages are showing more consistency and availability of product. They do struggle with certain products, particularly their pudding toppings. They are one of the only restaurants in the area that offers pudding, however, so that is a perk. Their new highlight that I enjoy is their black sugar hojicha milk tea.. by far their best and my favorite. They need to work on filling their cups equally, overall good and I will continue to concern. During CoVID they discontinued their games and it has been fun to see them back. Cool place to hang out however the Taro Milk is not the same consistency that I've gotten at other places. It's almost more like a sipping drink. Not sure if I'm into it. The atmosphere was pretty cool though so I'll be back to check it out again but I'll be ordering something different. read more

I ordered a taro milk tea with egg pudding and it was honestly one of the worst boba drinks I ever had. It had no taro flavor and it tasted like water. Inconsistent quality, quantity and service. I have ordered delivery twice. Ordered two identical items on both occasions, so I could compare apples to apples. The size, sweetness and consistency were completely different. First time large portions covered with film. Like boba drinks sold at Chopsticks, yet larger portions. Second time in the drinks arrived in different containers, like icee cups, yet the benefit of those cups is to be filled to the very top. Much less product than the first occassion. Just went to get a milktea from here. It's not my first time to TZone. I asked for my milktea 50% sweetness because I don't like to drink a bunch of sugar. After the first sip, I could tell it was NOT 50% sweetness. So, I went back to ask: "is this half a sweet because it's REALLY sweet". The guy said "yea it is sorry..." I settle because it's convenient at times to get milk tea when it's nothing compared to the real milk tea. Was in San Jose drinking some authentic milk tea and it's so much of a difference. VERY pleasantly surprised with this location. In a great part of Monterey, the ambiance within the the business and just outside is awesome. COVID friendly with very nice customer service, and quick delivery of the order. I am admittedly NOT a Bubble Tea expert but have some experience with it. The boba was very good and the milk tea I had was sealed in the traditional (or what I know to be traditional) manner. If you are not a fan of really sweet drinks, I would suggest confirming whether your drink is, or request it 1/2 sweet. The prices are a tad expensive for the size but the quality and taste were excellent. I would consider lowering the price a tad or ordering the cups a bit larger. For a boba shop in Monterey, it's alright. I got three drinks a Taro, Jasmine Taro & White Tiger. Taro drinks, in general, just tasted like creamer. White Tiger was the best & was recommended by one of the workers. However, I went on a Tuesday there was a promotion get two and get a third one free, but I was charged with all the drinks. I was slightly disappointed, but I let it slide just because times are tough for small businesses anywhere in general. I came back today after having skateboarded with my dad all day and I really wanted Boba so we drove here and I ordered a strawberry slush with Boba and a Matcha latte with Boba. If I can give negative stars I would. I am someone who has to drive to the bay to get great quality boba and due to me not wanting to drive an hour out, I decided to try a local spot instead. Worst decision ever. I placed an online order for pick up. I had no clue that their system was down and that they couldn't see my order was placed. We stood there for 20 minutes while the employees dick around in the back. Not only that but they were smoking their vapes back there as well. On the clock. We spoke and made noise to see if they'd come out from the back but they never payed us any attention. I finally spoke up and asked if something was wrong and they finally let me know that their system was down. On top of that other people just walked in. If it wasn't for me speaking up, they probably would have ignored those customers as well. That being said, nothing tops Bay Area boba. The service and the quality. TZone gave me such the ick that I'm actually willing to waste my gas in this terrible economy to go to SJ for great boba. With these gas prices. I'd rather pay the price. I'd rather increase my chances of dying in a freeway car accident on my way to SJ than come back here.
