Love coming here for the mango sticky rice bingsu. The bingsu is so light I can finish a whole bowl. Probably bad for you but definitely yummy. It comes with a side of condensed milk, green sweet sticky rice and mango purée. This time I also tried the cake sampler. It came with young coconut pandan crepe cake, Thai tea crepe cake and matcha crepe cake. Originally I wanted to try just the pandan but glad we got the sampler because eating all of them I would def say the Thai tea was my fave. It wasn't bitter still sweet but not too sweet and also flavorful. Runner up would be matcha kind of bitter sweet and you can totally taste matcha. Then pandan would come in last, still good but not as flavorful as it could be. The sampler was bigger than I pictured it to be you will definitely be full off of this. Service has been good whenever I've gone. Usually afternoons on weekends. I get seated super fast and the server is always super nice and in a good mood. Went there over the weekend and it was AMAZING! We have been to the one in SF and it is always fun to have the desserts there. This time we tried this location and it was great. We were a large group and were seated outside. One of the two heaters was working and made the patio pretty warm for everyone. We looked at the menu and got the Volcano Bingsoo, Lychee Cheesecake and Honey Brick Toast. All the desserts arrived in quickly and were all great. The bingsoo was fun to watch and the brick toast was sweet, juicy and well made. The cake was good too but the ice cream that came with it was simply WOW! While the experience was great the server was not that great. Dropping a star for that. He informed us that we need to order atleast $8 per person and kept coming back to ask if we had anything to order to make the total get to the minimum. It was rather strange for him to come over atleast 4 times! And last, while paying up, 20% gratuity was included in the order yet he interrupted saying we can add more if we liked his service. Came here with a group and we ordered a lot of new items. I haven't been here in a couple months so I was surprised at the new menu items and changes. We ordered quite a lot, and ordered mostly new items that we hadn't tried before. My favorite new item was the croffles--they were really good and even though they have been trending, it was my first time having one. The different flavors were great but I liked the one with strawberries on top the most. We got a shaved ice, the lychee one, and it was interesting. I think the honey is a bit overwhelming but they gave a lot of lychee pieces. Not my favorite but worth a try! I wasn't the biggest fan of the matcha cheesecake slice, but I totally understand that it is personal preference. I've never been a big fan of cheesecake/thick textures. The other cake was lychee and it was extremely light. I still don't really know how I feel about it but the rest of the group enjoyed it a lot. The lava cake was very rich, and the inside was beautiful matcha. If you like chocolate, you should definitely order that. We also got the salted egg toast box, which was one of the new items. The waffle (not gf) has a crispy exterior and favorable chewy interior with a strong matcha flavor. The fried chicken was actually chicken breast, but perfectly moist and crunchy from the meal's start to finish! The egg was cooked sunny side up and still a little runny, so request when you order if that style is not your preference. The yuzu sauce was packed with yuzu flavor and very spicy (could be Thai chilies), but also sweet and delicious. This was $18 which was steep but worth it because the waffle was filling, chicken was amazing, and the sauce was unique. All of the flavors and textures worked well for this dish. MANGO STICKY RICE BINGSOO: The ice was shaved very finely just the way I enjoy it! The menu mentioned crumbled sticky rice, which we thought was interesting. It was pandan coconut sticky rice served separately that we would need to add to our bingsoo bowl. They also had condensed milk and mango purée available to add as we liked. A U: Dessert Story where I don't have to cross TWO bridges to get to?! Yay! When we arrived we were seated inside immediately after showing proof of vaccination. The downside was that the QR code on the table for ordering led to a website where we could order for our table, but it said it was closed. I didn't realize that our orders were to be taken by the employees until later. We didn't get our orders taken until like 15 minutes after being seated. The size of this location and the quality of the desserts/drinks are similar to the SF location. I ordered the hojicha bingsoo, cherry blossom smoothie, and my boyfriend ordered the blue lychee drink. We got our dessert and drinks less than 10 minutes after ordering them. The hojicha bingsoo was very earthy, and it's topped with salted whipped cream. It came with a side of dark syrup which I think is molasses, and a side of warm boba to top it up. We poured the molasses on our bingsoo once we got to the middle of it. The molasses gave a caramel tone to the bingsoo. There's also brownie pieces within the bingsoo too. The bingsoo itself was a good size for two people and was flaky, soft and melts in the mouth. The blue lychee drink was really sweet and pure lychee according to my boyfriend. But he likes sweet things so there's that. The drink is mostly for the aesthetics. The cherry blossom smoothie was creamy with strawberry bits inside. There was a hint of lychee and rose flavor, my two fav combinations. The downside was that for one bingsoo and two drinks totaled to $40. Pretty pricey, but again it's for the aesthetics. Came here at night after some yummy pizza. My soul knew it needed the matcha lava cake as soon as I saw it and it did not disappoint. Everything felt a little small but it's meant to compliment the meal you already ate. In that sense it's fair in portion, but felt a bit pricey. Employees were super nice and accommodating. Here I am, still sitting inside the restuarant, frozen in shock by this delicious bingsu. I walked in here after eating a large dinner, believing I was too full for more than just a bite of dessert. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised by my stomach's sudden increase in storage, when I laid my eyes on the boba thai tea bingsu. The slight bitterness of the thai tea is perfectly balanced by the sweet boba pearls and sea salt foam. A truly unforgettable dessert experience. However, beware of this: this spot is not for the weak of wallets. One of these desserts will run you $22, not including tax and tip. Also, they fill the bottom of the bingsu with some flavorless jelly instead of filling it completely with the shaved ice. Talk about shrinkflation. Service is timely enough to play a round of Flee the Facility, but be prepared for crowds and lines to get in, especially after 6-7. Also, don't come here unless you want to be reminded of your single status, because this place is filled with couples left and right having their romantic moments while you eat your big fat dessert by your lonesome. read more

This place is located just off campus from UC Berkeley and there's ample street parking nearby or you can take the 51B/79 and walk to it from their respective stops :) We were seated quickly by a nice host and we ordered the Mango Sticky Rice Bingsoo. This was so good! The Bingsoo itself managed to stay frozen for awhile as we ate our way through it and the mangos were perfectly ripe! I loved the coconut granola on top of the Bingsoo and sticky rice as well. The sticky rice had a pandan aroma and it was topped with a mildly sweet coconut cream. Yum! The sauces they provided were a mango sauce and condensed milk, both of which we poured straight onto the Bingsoo. It was great! Several servers came by to make sure everything was great and they were so friendly! It definitely helps that the café is well-decorated and has such a cute ambiance. I will add that it was pretty warm in there due to the lack of AC. My only gripe with this place is how pricey some things are. $14 for a slice of crêpe cake is a lot, especially when you think about how much it would cost at one of the OG crêpe cake bakeries like Lady M Cake Boutique ($8 per slice). I would be more forgiving if it was in a different area, but the primary demographic of the area they serve is students so it should be priced accordingly. A nice dessert place to visit in a hot day. This Berkeley location is much more spacious than the one in the city, and also the service is faster. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty full. You can't go wrong with the mango sticky rice bingsoo, the shaved ice is super fine and the sticky rice is soft and chewy. The last time I had this in Sf there was mango purée inside the bingsoo, but we didn't see it this time. We've tried a few bingsoo at U and this is one of our favorites. The matcha crepe cake has a decent matcha taste. I'm not a fan of the raspberry sauce but it helps balancing the creaminess of the crepes. This has become our go-to dessert spot at the end of the night since it is open late and their dessert options are all a hit. It is packed on the weekends so factor that time in and it does take some time for your dessert to be made but when it arrives it sure is worth the wait. My favorite is the mango shaved ice- I could eat two of these by myself if I allowed myself to. Actually all the shaved ice options are winners and the price is high but the quality also matches up. The hojicha banoffie was very sweet but a great combination (hojicha, caramel, and banana)!
