There are mice running around everywhere. It's terrifying. The bathrooms are always broken or locked for repair like for the last 10 months. It's 2025. The mice are still there. Again the mice. This place is the worst. I have NEVER had such a bad experience with mouse infestation. The damage to my property is everywhere - books, towels, blankets, rugs, sheets, bags, everything. We reserved a 15 foot truck for my daughter's college move-in roughly 2-3 weeks ahead of time. The day before we were supposed to pick up the truck she started receiving text messages from them, first asking if she wanted an "upgrade" to a 20 foot truck...then asking if we wanted a trailer instead of a truck. We declined both. On our way to pick up the truck at the scheduled time we received a call that they just found out that the previous renter wouldn't be returning the truck on time - I call bs about finding out that day because then why were they trying to "upgrade" us the day before? Feels like a bait and switch to me. And when I politely expressed my displeasure that a truck we had reserved weeks ago wouldn't be available, they hung up on me. We ended up renting a 15 foot truck at a different location with much better customer service. We will not attempt to do business with the New Haven location again. read more

I dealt with a few people here with sone questions I had my initial was with a customer service rep I cannot remember her name but she was very helpful. I later spoke to Anthony he was able to assist in my matter. I spoke to Paul on 10/21/23 who explained the cost in detail and so I met with him on 10:27:23 he was very helped and explained things to me. It's a very nice location and the place is very clean very big. I would recommend this location if you are to rent or have a storage unit there very safe storage area. For the work your guys do there I hope they are getting compensated accordingly because they do a lot of work there always cherish your employees employers because they are the FACE of your company read more

First time renting a Uhaul ever in my life and it was an easy and stress-free experience. I booked reservation online and was able to adjust dates as we were in process of closing on a house so the date got pushed back twice. You don't pay anything up front when booking online reservation so i was able to easily adjust reservation dates up until day before. Picked up truck as virtual/contactless using website/account and key lock box. Pickup took under 10 minutes. Drop off was also easy except website directed me to place truck key in drop box but there was none at this location so I went into lobby and handed key to rep instead: she said we were all set and 10 minutes later i received email confirmation and receipt to my email. read more

This place has a mouse infestation. I recently went to pick up my storage drive from South. I left mostly everything in there because mouse feces and urine were everywhere I mean everywhere all over my mattress tv boxes the floor bags comforters and all. Called Uhaul to get my Ubox shipped from here to Georgia. The customer services representative sent this branch my info so they can contact me to get my shipment scheduled. Five days later, no call so I had to call them (took 6 tries to get through, by the way). Now they're saying it'll be an EXTRA $2,000 for my box to get there on time, which could have been avoided if they had called me in a timely manner. No managers or assistant managers on site to help resolve this issue. I'm now afraid that I will not have my stuff on time because the workers here don't seem to take their job half as seriously as they should. I strongly advise choosing a different Uhaul location if possible. Convenience is not worth the stress. read more

I would not recommend this place to any friends, family, or prospective customers. I have stayed with Uhaul before but this place is the worst. I've had issues moving in and out and still waiting to hear back about an unresolved issues. Reservations mean nothing to them. I reserved a small 5x7x10 to store my belongings and when I get there I am told no such unit exists and the only small one they had cost me $30 more. I had no choice but to pay the extra because I had all of my belongings with me ready to move in. Moving out was an even worse experience. I let the facility know that I this was going to be my last month staying and that once the month was over I would no longer need my unit. I had paid for the rest of the month of august and moved out progressively. Unfortunately, they took this as once I sent the email I was completely done with my unit and they went ahead and threw away ALL of my stuff in the storage. Not once was I contacted and when I went to the unit to pick up my belongings they had already sold the unit to someone else. Luckily the employees there agreed it was a miscommunication and I filed a reimbursement for all of my destroyed and discarded items which quite frankly had a lot of value to me. I am still waiting to hear back from them and it has been such a stressful process for me. Please do yourself a favor and never rent a unit from this location. Everything felt like a total scam and unfortunately I will never be seeing my things again. read more

I had the worst experience with U-haul over the last month. I booked Uhaul, more specifically the U-boxes, to help me ship my thing across country to start school. Before the process even started. I logged in my account and checked my balance and noticed they added an extra $800 for no reason. Once I contacted U-haul, they claimed this was a simple mistake. That doesn't seem simple to me. Moving on, I also booked MOVERS on the U-haul website, through U-haul. The movers were late and highly unprofessional. They were inexperienced and told me they had never moved thing in a U-box before. The boxes were not packed properly, and alot of my furniture was damaged/or broken beyond repair. the owner of the moving company also hired contract movers so anytime an update was needed I was called instead if the movers about how much longer the would be. After this I reached out to U-haul multiple times and was toe the movers from there site was not affiliated with them and they could do NOTHING. Fast forward to me receiving my boxes, they were infested with roaches and bugs. I guess the place where they were holding my things was not the cleanest and had bugs everywhere. I reached out to U-haul again and was given the run around yet again. I've tried to contact U-haul over 10 times. I don't recommend U-haul for any move. This had been the worst experience of my life. I'm still getting rid of bugs out of my things. read more

The staff on the office were not particularly interested in customer service. Rude about what is available online vs. their equipment. We needed the truck for 2 days and they told is we could ONLY have it for 8 hours. Also it took her forever to finish all three of the online transactions ours included. We stood waiting to get the key etc for over half an hour. If there is an online reservation we should be able to get what we reserve for the time we have reserved it regardless of what they need. And the staff, if again it's an online reservation, should take no more than 5 minutes to finish the transaction not 15-20 per person. And frankly the ONLY reason we used that location was the availability of a 26'truck. This location could leave a lot from the Ernie & Son's location in East Haven CT. Never using this location again. And if I want a truck and I'm willing to pay for it for 2 days as advertised on the website, I will keep it without penalty as I was threatened by the staff. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Very poor customer service. Reserved a truck and when I went to pick it up they hadn't set the information up properly, and wouldn't allow me to take the truck. Instead they want me to drive to a further location to retrieve a truck. Wasted valuable time and more of a hassle than it worth. Left on hold for extended periods of time and then phone hangs up. read more

Slovenly. Zero customer service or any semblance of management. I swear, one employee literally shuffled his feet and walked as slowly as humanly possible to go out to my rental van to obtain mileage information. He could care less than zero as to the fact he had a customer waiting for him. What are they paying these guys? Minimum wage? If so, they're either overpaid or should be fired. Great customer service , everyone there was readily available to help me and take care of my needs , I almost didn't want to go there because of the other reviews that I read but they were the only location that had the size truck available that I needed. Not only was every employee that I interacted with extremely helpful and friendly but they answered all my questions , Warmed up the truck for me and the inside of the store was absolutely beautiful. I'll definitely be coming back to rent from here or just to buy whatever moving supplies I'll need in the future . Not sure what the other guys were talking about but my experience was awesome and I'll tell all my friends and family about it ! read more
