Three decent sized pieces of fried chicken and well seasoned. It came with a hot dog, Spam slice, and a slice of Tamagoyaki. Filling with the right amount of proteins and rice. Spam Musubi was better than most. Not a fan of spam but on a musubi or in a bento...I won't toss it or give it to someone. The soy sauce glaze was sweeter than most and quite good. The daifuku was the type one will see at Nijiya Market or Donki...flown in from Japan. And it was excellent. Hours are listed Monday thru Saturday, from 500a till 600p on Apple Maps but Shiggy ( I hope it was him as he was a really nice guy ) said they are usually open at 430a. I don't recall exactly but I believe he also mentioned they close around 400p. I'll get the scoops on my next visit. Parking stalls in front of the entrance. I had HJE on my radar for a while and was finally able to stop in for lunch in the first week of July 2026. The restaurant is located in the same shopping plaza as the Kaimuki Times. In fact, it's on the ground floor next to Times. It's tucked behind some large concrete walls next to the parking lot, but just keep your eyes open and you should be able to find it. I ordered the Fish Lovers bento and a Cheeseburger musubi, both with the mulitgrain rice. The Fish Lovers bento was PACKED with offerings, including chikuwa, ahi katsu, shrimp tempura, miso butterfish, grilled saba (?), and grilled salmon, plus an assortment of wonderful side dishes. The Cheeseburger musubi included a beef patty topped with cheese, plus multigrain rice all wrapped in nori. I was a big fan of both my choices, and I would definitely order them again!

Absolutely no complaints here, and I don't think other to-go sushi places have a better portion-to-price deal. Only feedback is that they could put the prices on their in-store menu boards.
