So I walk in and they say write a review and get 10 bucks off. Cool. I do it. I get my phone back and I try to use it. They just replaced he 6+ glass. And the guy tells me yeah they've had some problems with the top piece but should be fine. So they didn't add the additional screen protector just replaced the glass. Next day the touch motion doesn't work. Friday before I'm going to Mexico I take it in and he says yeah looks like when you press at the top it works so I'm pushing as hard as I can with my thumb just to text someone. Crazy. I didn't have time to get it replaced. Monday I take it back at 11. Drop off he says we will replace one more time if it doesn't work out you're old screen back on so I can take to apple. Mind you. Touch was never the issue. Broken glass my touch worked. Two screens later. Still doesn't work and they don't have my old glass. So now I'm waiting for another 6+ user to possibly drop by. Terrible. Update. Raised my rating to 3 star. They got my screen back to original condition which allowed me to take it back to apple and get brand new phone. They honored their word and did everything in their power to fix it. 6+ users until they get the bugs ironed out on the screen I'm not sure I could recommend them to anyone. read more

Made reservation online and selected "Water Damage", website said they fix water damage but my experience was the opposite. They said they can't fix my phone. Took my phone there for a possible broken screen from when I feel in the pool. The screen was not cracked, it just will not display anything but it dings when I plug in it when I do the locate phone chime from my Apple Watch. The Tech turn me away and they said they do not fix water damaged phone. Their website claims differently. There was no attempt to check or triage the phone. The front person encouraged me to check on other shops, glad I did! I took it to Rapid Repair N. Gilbert rd and baseline without the fancy online reservation. I explained the same thing and he took it without hesitation, fixed it in just 30mins. Cleaned my phone from the water damage and replaced the screen. Good as new for only $179+tax. Catchy store name but can't live up to their name. Store name should change..."U Break I Can't Fix It". Dont waste your time here. read more

Dont even step into this store. Asurion Phone & Tech Repair does not charge for diagnostics and it is free. But this location does. I paid $30 for my phone diagnostics. They told me they cannot repair it the next day. I asked for a diagnostics report on what they had done with my phone. They said they cannot give me a diagnostic report. How ridiculous is this? I paid $30 for diagnostics and they cannot give the diagnostics report what I paid for. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had in my life. My disposition was a bit strained. The Asurion rep told me the address and off I went. I arrived at uBreakiFix a short time later. I was third in line when I walked in. There was one person handling the store front. The phone was ringing. I was a bit worried my day was headed further south. My concerns were unfounded. Kailis efficiently and gracefully handled onsite-and phone-customers. It was like the dude had eight arms. To be that smooth, you just know he's dealt with swarms of customers. And I bet he works those down with ease as well. Anyway, I was at the front of the line in no time. I gave my story and he did some additional diagnostics on my phone. Those diagnostics are essential and protect both you and uBreakiFix. Then he gave me a two hour estimate for the repair. Cool, two hours... no problem. I left my phone with them and headed home. About 20 minutes later it occurred to me that I should get another screen protector immediately. After all some jackass dropped my phone just last night... that jackass being me. My ZAGG replacement would take a week or so to get to me. Kailis answered and said: "Oh hey, another tech came in. Your phone is already done if you want to pick it up early." He had my new protector on when I arrived 15 minutes later. My phone works great and looks like new. Like I said at the top, uBreakiFix astonished me. I love these folks. I got my Ipad screen replaced back in April of 2020 and was happy with the quality they provided when i got my Ipad back initially. However, overtime the adhesive to the screen started to become loose and my screen would dangle off the ipad if I held it face down. I read in the receipt that there was only a 3 month warranty so my screen replacement was well out of the warranty period but I figured that this situation was something small where they could simply reapply the adhesive to the screen and fix it that way. I called the store initially before I went in to make sure that this is something they could do, they explained that they should be able to reapply the adhesive on there. A few days go by before I could get in the store but when I got in there the customer service rep quickly looked at my purchase date of the screen replacement and said that since the repair is out of warranty there isn't anything they can do besides recharge me for a new screen. I asked if they could simply reapply the adhesive to the screen but the rep said the part is very fragile and they would need to just replace the whole screen but since it was out of warranty he said they would have to charge full price. After leaving frustrated because they basically told me that if its out of warranty there's nothing they could do. I called a different place (Rapid Phone Repair in Gilbert) and explained the situation, they told me to bring it in and they could take a look at it. After a few mins of taking a look at the screen, the rep was able to just reapply adhesive to the screen and only charged me a $30 fee. So, at the end of the day, the rep either lied to me and just didn't want to help a customer out if it's not a sale or they really could not fix their own repair - if the latter is true I find that very confusing for such a small fix. I also find it odd that there's no other options for customers if its out of the warranty period. Other locations might be better but would not recommend getting a repair here read more

I scheduled an online appointment for a technician to come to my home and repair my phone screen. I was very excited to not have to leave my home (because of covid) and the time was convenient with my children's nap schedule. My appointment time comes and goes with no phone call. So I call the number on my email confirmation and the person that answers initially tells me they cannot find my appointment under the phone number I provided, but I guess later finds it? He proceeds to tell me they do not offer home visits at their location. And then he says they do not travel to my area of town. At this point, I'm frustrated because; one I scheduled the appointment with my zip code, second I received no phone call to let me know they could not come to my location and third I had an appointment in their system and they ignored it. I asked for a refund (because a deposit is required for a home repair) and he says they can't give refunds. I'm put on hold for the 5th time. He comes back says they can travel to my location now and they could reschedule for the following day. I say okay and we reschedule. Well, the next day. My appointment time goes by with no phone call. So I call the office and they claim they do not offer at home repairs at their location. After another brief hold, he claims the technician blew his tire and was out all day fixing it. But I still never received a phone call. I asked for the manager at this point, the guy claims he was the manager (and sarcastically says that's why he was on the phone with me). I highly doubt he was the manager because of his lack of knowledge of services and inability to recognize basic customer service. I asked for a refund and he said they could do that (apparently not the day before). I do not recommend using this location, maybe the other locations are better. read more

Brought my iPhone in because The charging port stopped working. When I had called they told me it took about 5 hours to replace it. When I showed up, the technician asked if I had tried cleaning it. I had looked online and followed the instructions for cleaning it. He said he would give it a try before replacing. He took the phone to the back and came out a couple minutes later. Not an authorized repair facility for most companies. I took a PlayStation 4Pro there because it had a bad disc drive and wouldn't play disc. Over the phone they quoted me $120. When I dropped it off to them they told me it would be $230. They guaranteed the repair would be completed within 3 to 5 business days. On the fifth business day they told me it had been delayed and that it would be coming in and repaired by Tuesday at the absolute latest. When I called on Tuesday they said that the earliest that they would be able to have it done by was Thursday evening, if not Friday. So after two weeks of them not fixing it, I called GameStop who said with a broken disc drive they would still give me $185 for it and I could buy a new one ($350 on sale for "Play Days" promotion. But when I was there GameStop informed me that this place voided the PS4 as they are not an authorized dealer for Sony and this they couldn't take it. I was never told any of this by Ubreakifix, and since they are national, I didn't think to ask as I assumed anything they advertised they repaired, they would have been authorized. NOT THE CASE. I went back in and asked for a list of companies they are authorized to repair and was told they don't have a list. Stay away from this place. If they work on a phone, and it's a leased, and your carrier finds out, you just bought the phone. Same with any product. They never called me to tell me my stuff was delayed, I had to call them. Rude and completely aloof, disinterested, and apathetic staff, especially 'Kyle'. I brought in a perfectly functioning phone with a minuscule crack in a corner of the screen purely for aesthetics, and was given back a completely ruined phone, unusable in any way as it will no longer turn on. He kept saying it was 'bricked' with no explanation of what that means. That it is now an 1100 dollar useless brick?? No real apologies, just dialed the phone for corporate and handed me the phone to deal with it, while he hid in the back. And let's not forget the appointment I missed and had to pay for, because of being on the phone for an hour, and the day of work I missed (because my phone is my work) due to Verizon informing the repair would take 15 minutes, while rude and uncaring Kyle said 3 hours. Terrible experience. 1st of all they were over an hour late opening on Saturday. We had to call another location to see what was going on. We dropped off an ipod touch that went black. They called us later that day and said it couldn't be fixed. When I went a few days later to pick it up, the "tech" who worked on it told me a laundry list of things (including a diagnostic) he tried and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I took it to a different place I found on Yelp. The guy looked at if for 5 seconds and said it looked like it just needed a new screen. The LED screen had just fried. 45 minutes and it was good as new. This place obviously needs some new "techs". Really disappointed! I'll be reviewing the place that actually knows what they're doing too. read more

He says it will be ready in 30, I come back in an hour and he totally forgot about my phone. He says "give me 15 min" comes back, my phone turns on, but it doesn't register my touches. He then say "my bad give me 10 more minutes" he finally comes back and the screen never quite worked 100% he said it was because my phone was bent. I put the phone in my pocket, pressed against my wallet, the new screen shatters. I sing the praises of the UbreakIfix franchises. Ordinarily. I have used the Tempe and Biltomore locations several times and felt they'd always been transparent and fair with me. THEN I had this experience with the Gilbert location. Let me say I have never been to one of these stores at any time of day where there wasn't a line for services. And then there's this location at 3871 S. Gilbert Rd. It was a ghost town for what became obvious reasons. I'd had an iPhone screen replaced less than 90 days ago. Last night while using my phone at the gym to play music I pressed hard against a machine and when I checked my phone to skip a song I didn't like, I recognized a line of light running the length of the otherwise black LCD and the screen was no longer responsive. I took it to the store fully prepared and willing to own my part if I'd broken the screen. But the screen showed NO damage save a smaller than a BB sized nick near the top of the screen, near the top right edge, and a kid working the store tells me I have damage that voids the warranty. A nick that I've submitted this photo of. He then proceeds to suggest that this nick, that has been there for nearly 2 months suddenly made the entirety of the screen stop working and then went into some spiel that was starting down the road of my having to replace this thing I just bought-at the cost of another $90. What a scam. He then admits that there's LCD failure and if there was no nick they'd replace it even though the issues are unrelated. Huh? There are good and bad franchises in all businesses, I concede that point. Better to avoid this one altogether and go where good sense, reason and the interest in building returning customers plays into customer interaction. I'll never allow any of my family or contractors I support to patronize this location either. Look at the pic! TERRIBLE. I went to this UBreakiFix store because it was the required location to get my insurance claim resolved for the cracked screen on my phone. The employees seemed to have little understanding of Asurion (which I guess is the insurance company Verizon uses, but I'm not paid to know that like an employee of this company would be, so no surprise that I'm not entirely sure) or how to complete my transaction since I had already paid Asurion my deductible for the repair. They seemed surprise when I told them I had already paid my $29 deductible and wouldn't be paying them anything for the repair. Then they took over 4 hours to repair my phone after telling me it would take 2-3 hours and they also promised to call my fiancé when it was done, which they never did. I had to drive there and ask about my phone's status and they said they weren't done yet because they had been waiting for me to come back to unlock the screen to complete the repair even though I gave them the password when I left it there. I guess if I hadn't come back, they would have held onto it indefinitely, waiting for me to come back some day to unlock my phone screen for them? To everyone managing this location and training your employees, this was a really disappointing experience. read more

I brought my Iphone in to have the screen repaired because I had a small chip and it was under warranty so I figured why not. When my phone was returned to me, the sensor that makes the screen go black when you talk on the phone was broken. I brought it back and they attempted to fix it. It's better but still not totally fixed. Also, the must use a cheaper glass because I dropped my phone once since getting it fixed and it has a crack down the entire length of the phone. I have had IPhones for 10 years with various accidental drops and I have never had a screen crack like this before. Lastly, both times I took my phone to get repaired, they took about 4 hours to repair it and that was WITH an appointment. I will never have them repair my phone again. read more

Ok so they do a good job.. but its senseless to bother making an appointment because it does nothing with the amount of time they keep your item. Dropped off my item at 10am had to called at 3pm and they still hadnt touched it. I understand places get busy but again... whats the point of making an appointment?? I hate writing horrible reviews but this one I had to. I walked into the Gilbert/ Germann and I was greeted very generously and was helped accordingly as I explained my issue with my MacBook Pro. As I was called back to pick up my laptop I was told that my MacBook mother board has fried and was no longer powering on. First of all I knew that was a complete lie because I had my laptop powered up a couple weeks prior to taking it to Ubreakifix. When I picked up my laptop and I returned home, I immediately put my laptop on the charger for a couple of hours and as I returned to check on it and guess what?? My MacBook immediately powered on. So I took my MacBook to a trusty place I knew of in the past and only reason why I didn't go to them first because I'm in Gilbert and this place was in Tempe by he ASU campus. They fix my MacBook and upgrade it for a reasonable price. As a customer I would never go back to these guys after they lied to me and almost had me spend thousands of dollars buying a new MacBook. Bad. Walked in with a MacBook Pro with a simple cracked screen. They said no problem we will replace the screen with a. new one. Fine. $700.00 beats buying a new computer. Got my MacBook back and the "new" screen is all crooked, not lighting up right, and the computer doesn't recognize that the screen is closed making it so it won't work right with external monitors that I have set up. on top of that, the camera doesn't work, and it has exterior scratches on it. So I brought it back, they said they would fix it, later to find out that there is nothing they can do and all they will do is give me a refund and now im stuck with an ever worse off screen and in a worse off situation. Now I have to take off more work to get it fixed by some on who knows what they are doing and will do it right and be professional about it.
