One of my favorite dessert shops in Oakland. First off, the prices for the desserts are very affordable for how much you get which I absolutely love. Went with my boyfriend and they have a lot of seating which is nice and a menu with a lot of dessert choices. Did not know what to pick so I asked the cashier what she recommended and we ordered what she suggested. We ordered the Strawberry and Mango Egg Puff with Vanilla Ice Cream, Mango Balck Sticky Rice with Coconut Sauce, Mango Sago, a fruit fusion drink with fruit balls in it, and ended with the coconut pudding. The Strawberry Mango Egg Puff is delicious! The puff is crunchy on the inside and warm on the inside. It paired perfectly with the vanilla ice cream and the fruit that was on top of it. You can get different flavored egg puffs but we just got the plain one. Next, we got the Mango Sticky Rice with coconut sauce and that was amazing!!!! If the black sticky rice has a great texture to it, the coconut sauce is sweet and the mangos are a great balance between all three entities of the dessert. What I love about the rice is that it doesn't clump all together when mixed with the rice and sauce. It still keeps its sticky texture but it does not turn into mush which is very nice. We also ordered the Mango Sago and that was good as well. Sago is basically small tapioca and it was delicious! I love mango and the texture of small tapioca so it was perfect for me. Sweet but not overly sweet like most western desserts. We also ordered the fruit fusion drink with melon balls inside of it. The drink was very very refreshing and had a hint of sweetness. It was very fresh! My favorite thing that I loved the most out of all the desserts was the coconut pudding in an actual coconut! WOW! It was so fresh and tasty! Usually, when I get coconut pudding it tastes very processed but this one was just divine. It was super dense so when you put it in your mouth it just melted perfectly! I really like this place. The desserts are great, and they offer decent snacks too. My favorite thing to get is the A5: ice cream sago with coconut sauce. I usually get strawberry ice cream, but they have other options. They have a well-priced happy hour ($3 desserts from 5-8:30 p.m.) & offer a 20% discount for students. The staff don't seem very experienced, but they are super friendly and accommodating. I understand these are pretty standard Chinese desserts, but it's been hard to find a place with a decent variety of sago desserts anywhere in Oakland or surrounding cities (e.g., Berkeley & Emeryville), so I'm giving them 5 stars. read more

They've kept their operation smooth through COVID, and they've been staying open since shelter-in-place first started. Before COVID, the small space and Wi-Fi made for a passable space to stop and do some light work. Now, you order from their shielded booth (or Grubhub) and get pretty fast turnaround on your order. I've only tried their sweet snacks, not their salty dishes, but I've liked what I've tried so far. I'm partial to their mango chia/sago/sticky rice items - fruity, cool, refreshing, good for warm weather. If you're looking for a light dessert, they offer their coconut pudding in a small size that comes in a reusable glass jar. I also like how they let you pick all your toppings for the shaved ice/grass jelly dessert that is my personal favorite. Good desserts! I was actually skeptical and didn't give this place try for a while... but finally gave in because this Chinese girl needs some Chinese desserts lol. I've tried the dessert with that balls (hahahahaha), almond tea, ginger milk custard and a few others. Most were pretty decent and not too sweet. The HK milk tea however was not very good. Pricey too. I feel like during the night time when it's busy, they need a few more servers because the 2 girls are just running around like crazy even though it's such a small spot. One of the worst boba experiences ever. I called in advance to confirm the hours since it was a holiday. I also inquired if they had non diary milk options, the worker confirmed they had soy milk. Went in to order a basic egg puff and their recommended drink, roasted oolong milk tea as described on the paper foldable menu. Placed the order and waited patiently. 5 minutes later the worker shared that soy milk is not available. They ran out. Despite this, my boba craving was stronger than my lactose intolerance fears and this worker's incompetence. I proceed with the order. The worker places my precious boba upside down (?) into a paper bag and carefully puts the egg tart in. Sizable for $6, not bad, maybe this store has redeemed itself. Incorrect. I get into the car to realize the worker did not give me a straw large enough for the boba in my drink. I return to share this information. He sends me on my way without an appropriate straw because they ran out of the larger straws and failed to inform us before we walked out the door. Closing thoughts: -Roasted oolong tea flavorful -Pretty good egg puff, sweet, light and warm -Boba is soft and smaller than average. This is one of the best Asian dessert spots in Oakland. They have something for everyone! Plus, it's open late. The Hong Kong style milk tea is just like the kind you'd get in Taiwan (a little sweet tho). And although their crepe cakes are mad expensive, they're totally worth it, especially if you've never had it before. It's the BEST green tea crepe cake I've ever had! Full disclosure: they import them from Lady M in LA. So if you're from LA, you can get them there, too. Prolly for cheaper since it's not imported haha. Not terrible just not the best spot to spend your money on desserts. I mean I didn't give it two stars or one for the sake that the place is clean. Additionally, free WiFi and good working space to use your laptop and there are plugs. Issue is more so the food quality. I ordered chia seed with grass jelly and strawberry ice cream. The grass jelly suppose to have a herbal flavor but this one had nothing. Just felt like eating a black gelatin. I also ordered a jasmine green tea. They told me they didn't have it available right away and they had to brew it. I was fine with it. It smelled so good in the shop, the scent of jasmine had my expectations peaked. But after a sip, it was like I was just drinking water. I told the waitress, and she was confused. "There's no jasmine flavor.... no taste" I said, so she said they will make another one. Second one had same issue. I didn't bother to complain at that point. Don't come here for the food- they use the microwave often.
