    Interior aesthetic

5 stars for the aesthetic and interior design. The drink itself however was just okay I got the Rice Floral Green Milk Tea 30% Sweet with Oat Milk, and maybe because it's floral rice (?), or the fact I got oat milk, but the drink tasted like grains/very cereal-like. Sort of like the Japanese Buckwheat Milk Tea from Rabbit Rabbit in Valley Fair. Maybe that's just what it's supposed to taste like, but it's not my personal preference when I'm in a milk tea mood I believe they're more known for their matcha, and I do like that they have other unique options like Camellia Oolong Milk Tea, so I'm willing to give this place another try. However, I feel like this is more of a place you come to for just aesthetics. Once you got your photos, I don't see myself really coming back, especially with the over abundance of other milk tea spots in Bay Area

A new tea place called UG Tea just opened up in Milpitas Square. The parking is terrible during lunch time, but better off hours or dinner time. The decor is sleek and interesting. A lot of photo opportunities. They even have a photo booth. They have a few cushioned benches for you to sit down. Otherwise, a couple of tables outside. Two kiosks and/or cashier to order from. The staff wear specific uniforms to showcase UG Tea. One unisex restroom only. I ordered the Rice Floral Green Milk Tea (+Tea jelly). The drink was creamy and a light floral flavor. I had high hopes for this place as they have other locations as well, nice decor/aesthetics, a lot of green (matcha), and a cool photo booth. You can order from them or through the kiosk. Drinks I tried: matcha cookie smoothie (into matcha biscoff lately) and cloud matcha latte (I love cream pecan), but both drinks were ok. More on the milky side, not much matcha. Maybeeeee I would try dif drink in the future

After coming back from the SGV, they finally opened their first Bay Area location in Milpitas Square. I went to the grand opening for their BOGO Camellia Oolong Tea Latte or Next Level Matcha Latte promotion. I waited in line for almost 1.5 hours. While waiting for my order, I took the chance to try their green photo booth for free by following their IG and posting a story. The staff helped guide me when to start posing, but had to reboot the whole system, so I was patiently waiting inside a windowless green booth like a mental patient for five minutes. I was satisfied with the pictures, although I had less than 10 seconds to pose in front of the surveillance-style camera. The promo poster caused a bit of confusion, even among the previous customers ahead of me, because it looked like I could mix and match, but it turns out you have to either choose two Camillia Oolong Tea Latte or two Next Level Matcha Lattes to get half the price. I got the Camilla Oolong Tea Latte in oat milk, Matcha Cookie Smoothie, and Blueberry Blizzard Smoothie. I didn't like the popular Camilla Latte, which was a bit watered down and difficult to taste the oolong tea. It felt like I was drinking more oat milk, soaked with one tea bag. The Matcha Cookie Smoothie didn't have a strong matcha flavor, yet it was creamy with matcha whipped cream topped with a Biscoff cookie and chocolate chip sprinkles. The Blueberry Blizzard Smoothie was fun to drink, like it's your birthday. It was smooth to drink with the sweet blueberry puree and blue whipped cream sprinkled with edible white pearls. I really like the futuristic green decor, but there weren't many seats inside, and it was small. The staff were all friendly. My suggestion for the grand opening is to offer samples of their popular lattes to all customers waiting in line for over 30 minutes. The drinks were not as good as in SGV, despite the hype on social media.

Decently good, not great, and DEFINITELY not something I'd wait long for. My boyfriend and I tried 4 drinks. His favorites were the next level matcha latte and the matcha cookie smoothie, but my favorite was the mango rice floral fruit tea. The matchas are pretty light and on the grassier side, but I tend to prefer strong matchas with more nuttiness. The matcha cookie smoothie tasted quite bland, but once it begins to melt it tastes a lot better. The mango floral rice tea was super unique and tart. The jasmine milk tea tasted a bit watered down for my liking, with an interesting smoky after note. Interior looks super sleek, metallic, and futuristic. Definitely lures you in. I believe they also have a photo booth. Our four drinks took almost an hour because of how packed it was. I'd say to wait for the hype to come down before visiting.

Another yummy matcha place! I ordered the 15 jasmine matcha cream latte. Tbh, it reminded me of the premium jasmine matcha from Molly Tea. I still loved it though! I did go a few days after the soft opening and it was a Sunday, so the wait was LONG! I'm talking about 1 hour long lol... Had I known the wait was going to be so long, I would've ordered multiple drinks. The drink was good, but I can't justify myself waiting for an hour again. Although they do have an app so if I am in the area again, I'll definitely be ordering ahead and making my way there as my last destination to pick up my drink!

I wanted to see how this location compared to the San Gabriel location and in all aspects it's severely disappointing. The business itself can't do anything if the actual physical location is too small. It's nowhere as decorative or impressive as the SGV location with the photo opportunities, decor and signage outside and seating in comparison. This place super pales and is so small and not as aesthetically pleasing in the Y2K millenial way. I saw that there was a line and decided to pre-order via Fantuan. They gave me a pick up time order window. We came slightly later than the estimated pick up time and then was told that it would at least take another hour. I ordered around 11 AM when they told us at around 2 PM that it would take another hour. Embarrassing, do better. ANOTHER WIN FOR SOCAL.

Grand opening day bogo madness! 05/30/26

Visit details: Date and Time: Grand Opening, Saturday, 05/30/26, 8:30 to 10 pm Crowd: Queued At least 100 deep down the block Demographics 60% East Asian, 35% Southeast Asian, 5% Other Total wait time: A tad over an hour from lining up to receiving drinks The highly anticipated Milpitas branch of Unique Green Tea has finally opened its doors! As the fancier, more aesthetic version of ShareTea, UG aims to provide a fun, whimsical backdrop in which to imbibe its high quality drinks. As expected, on grand opening bogo day, an absolutely massive crowd was on hand! We all know how whenever there is a new business in the Bay Area with ties to SoCal, people will line up in droves! Overall, the wait actually wasn't bad. It was about an hour or so from the time I got in line until the drinks were ready. Since they had a bogo offer for two drinks only, Camellia Oolong MIlk Tea and Next Level Matcha Latte, those are the ones I tried. And wow, quite splendid! I had already sampled the Camellia in the San Gabriel location, and I was hoping this one would be just as good. Indeed it is! Service is also super friendly. The general manager is particularly nice, answering all of our questions, and guiding us along with all the promotional deals (free tote bags and photo booth). The design of the shop is best described as "retro futuristic," as much of the modern decor is infused with throwback elements, such as TV screens with intentional VHS-like blurriness and old fashioned fonts throughout. It's kind of like what someone in the 60s thought the "future" would look like. Unfortunately, this location is considerably smaller than the San Gabriel shop, so it doesn't quite have the same immersive experience, nor the space to hang out. It's not the type of place to chop it up with the homies, nor to sit down to do some homework. There simply isn't much room. Only time will tell how Unique Green Tea will fare in this extremely competitive plaza, against the likes of the OG Fantasia, Hey Tea, Ume, and many others I might have forgotten. However, with a proven track record, UG will most definitely will be a force to reckon with. The only question is if the lack of tables and seating capacity will be a major impact, since nifty looking retro futuristic design can only get one so far. The drinks do indeed speak for themselves though

    Jasmine matcha

Very aesthetic and pretty inside! Besides that, the drinks were a big disappointment. I ordered the Jasmine matcha and had high hopes. The flavor of Jasmine tea nor matcha was not there. There was a slight taste of Jasmine similar to Molly tea but it was so minimal. The drink tasted a lot like milk, the cream on top did not help either because it just added to the milk flavor. No matcha was found in any sip I had of the drink. Additionally, the wait was quite long when I went soft opening. My drink was sitting there for 5 minutes without being called. With so much competition for milk tea and matcha, I expected more. Especially with it being in the same plaza as hey tea and close to cere tea. It was bland in compare!

    Camellia Oolong Milk Tea
    Alisa B.

The Camellia Oolong Milk Tea is SO SCRUMPTIOUS! I need to come back and get this again. I loved how fragrant the tea was, so floral. The perfect milk-to-tea ratio!!! The interior is described as the "Gentle Monster of Milk Tea" and I can see why. It's so aesthetic and modern inside. Lots of photo opportunities and mirrored textures. The photobooth inside is really faulty and wouldn't let us print multiple copies for a $12 charge... but the high angle is cool! It's just nice to have a photobooth in this plaza now! The cashier I had was really nervous and got my order wrong originally.. he also did not know how to add my loyalty points properly, but they are still training due to soft opening! But they have a kiosk if you don't want to risk this... I'd also recommend downloading the app!

Closer to 3.5/5... I've been here twice since soft opening. Very cool interior/decor, dubbed the "gentle monster of boba". Lots of photo ops including a photo booth. Drinks: - Next level matcha latte: 5/5 this was surprisingly pretty good. It's not quite a good high quality matcha latte drink, but good in a different way. - Jasmine matcha cream latte: 3/5 this was just ok. wasn't bad, but not amazing either. It felt a bit bland, not much jasmine or matcha taste. - Jasmine milk tea: 1/5 I had high hopes for this since it was one of the recommended drinks, however I was so disappointed. It was extremely milky. Barely a hint of tea. I would much rather drink molly or heytea jasmine milk tea lol. - Mango rice floral tea: 3.5/5 we got this because it was so unique. It was pretty refreshing and interesting. However it was a bit watered down. Being in the bay, there is no shortage of places for boba. UG drinks fall short of expectations imo as none of their drinks really stand out.

Came for the Grand Opening so I got to try two options at a deal - Next Level Matcha Latte and Camellia Oolong Milk Tea. I don't find they particularly standout from other milk teas in the area so if you're looking for a steady option I think this would be good for something not too floral but good flavor. I found the 30 percent sweetness level to be most other shop's 50-70 percent. The inside is that futuristic green vibe. Workers were extremely friendly. Parking is in a busy plaza lot. There was outdoor seating that they hopefully keep.

3.5 star Just opened this weekend and we could find it on DoorDash already. I applaud their effort! It seems they were from LA and people raved about their Next Level Matcha Latte, so I ordered one. I didn't like that the ice level and size is locked, I wish I could try it with less ice as the flavor diluted half way through when the ice melted. The tea tasted creamy. I had it at 0% sugar but honestly felt a bit light and not with a deep thick matcha after taste that I prefer. For a medium size, the calories are well over 300 though! The menu seems interesting with other pure tea options, maybe next time I'll give those a try.

This HeyTea is located in one of those large Milpitas plazas with a massive variety of restaurants,…read moreservices, and other miscellaneous goods shops, which makes it a good place to grab a drink before or after another engagement. Parking is pretty easy, as there is a huge parking lot for the entire plaza. The store is clean and modern like their stores usually are. Orders are placed through a single tablet, which can contribute to a long line if it's busier. There are no tables, only benches for waiting, so I recommend you take your drinks to go. The drinks that I tried are very good. The tea flavors are strong, the fruit tastes fresh, and the various creams are all very good. There are different cups for different drinks, and everything is made very beautifully. Everything comes out within a reasonable amount of time as well. The prices are definitely on the higher side; drinks can run you past $8, which is a little steep, but the quality of the drinks is hard to doubt. It's a good place for a special treat if you're in the mood!

It was refreshing as always, especially with light ice and less sugar. The wait can be quite long during peak hours, but walking around the plaza makes it easy.

The jasmine milk tea was smooth and refreshing with a fragrant tea flavor that came through nicely without being overwhelmed by sweetness. The boba pearls were soft, chewy, and cooked just right, making the drink even more enjoyable. The muddy Okinawa milk tea was richer and creamier, with a delicious caramelized brown sugar flavor that added depth and sweetness. It felt indulgent without being overly heavy and was a great contrast to the lighter jasmine milk tea. Service was friendly and efficient, and the drinks were prepared quickly. The vibe is casual and relaxed, making it a nice place to grab a drink, study, or catch up with friends. It's a reliable neighborhood boba spot that has been around for years and continues to be a local favorite. Overall, a solid choice for classic milk teas and quality boba.
