I've had a consistent experience at all the Uji Time locations I've been to! Great ice cream :) My friend and I came here for dessert after dinner nearby, and it was packed with teens and families. It's a popular spot in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking. You order on one (very big) screen, and an employee was also taking orders at the register which was nice. Swirl in a cup ($6.95): Love that the matcha and ube flavors are strong! Was still able to sleep at my regular bed time, so maybe the matcha caffeine isn't too strong if you're worried about that lol. My friend got the seasonal flavor, pineapple, and that was good too! Not exactly like dole whip, I would say creamier. The black sesame flavor was also excellent. It is piled high, a bang for your buck :) I forgot they also have drink and snack options, so I'll be back to try those!
This was my first time visiting Uji Time Dessert and I loved it! I took my ice cream to go but there is some limited seating inside if you prefer to eat there. There are only a couple of tables and it's limited for any parties bigger than 4 or so. They have both soft serve and ice cream, but not in the same flavors- so just note that. They carry drinks, snacks and ice cream Of course- it all looks very appetizing. If you plan on getting more than one flavor of ice cream, they have recommendations. They also have flavors of the season (not sure how often it is switched). They recommend Ube and matcha together, so that is what I did. I purchased the Taiyaki cone (fish cone) filled with red bean paste, on top of Matcha and Ube soft serve. It was Delicious! It is such a good combo, both flavors are good by themselves but together with the cone and red bean paste was delectable. You can get the ice cream inside the cone but since I was driving and taking it to go- I wanted to avoid accidents. I should mention that staff was patient, kind were accommodating when I didn't order correctly. I forgot to ask for the ice cream in a cup with the cone on top when ordering. I am trying the pineapple soft serve next

Cute little sweet shop, very clean. Service was fast. Matcha ice cream was fairly large portion, flavor was ok, not very strong. The taiyaki fish was pre-made, so didn't taste fresh. Not worth the price.
Excellent, prompt service! Everything was packed with flavor, from the taiyaki waffle fish to the Nutella filling, Ube ice cream, crispy rice pearls, and Oreo cookie crumble!
Their current seasonal flavor is lavender, so I had to try it. In general, I do like floral flavors in ice cream, but a lot of people at my table tried what I ordered and thought the lavender soft serve was a little too soapy. I actually did not mind that at all. Needless to say, the lavender flavor really came through, lol. The consistency was great, just like their other soft serve, very smooth and creamy. I just was not sure if the floral flavor paired well with the red bean filling I chose for the inside of my fish-shaped cone. We also ordered their matcha soft serve, which used to be my favorite, but the matcha flavor yesterday did not seem as strong as I remembered. Other than that, my experience was really great. The store was nice and clean, and even though we had a party of six, we were able to get the largest table, which was perfect. It was also very well air conditioned, which felt amazing given the unusually hot weather we have been having in Concord in the middle of March. I would definitely love to come back again soon and order their ube flavor, which is my favorite.
First, I love ice cream places like this. Unfortunately they kind of missed the mark. The service is a little lacking since i asked for Caramel on mine and got oreo crumbles and my fiance asked for matcha ice cream but instead they gave him my flavor. It's good but not great. The cone tastes a little burnt, just not as good as some others. Still, fun place to try on a hot day.
This place is okay- the inside is very clean and cute, the people who worked there were kind. Smells fabulous! It was very disappointed in the sesame ice cream. It had a strange after taste, almost tasted burnt and bitter. The Matcha and ube ice cream were much better, but still not blown away. The fishes were alright, I wish they were warmer. The chocolate puff balls were OK. They were a little too thick and bready for my taste - I like them a bit crisper Overall I don't think I'd come back, but worth giving a try if you're craving some Asian sweets
Nice spot for dessert, especially after hitting up one of the delicious restaurants in the area! We went on a Sunday night, so it was a bit busy, but the lines moves quickly! It also helps that you can order with a touchscreen in addition to the regular line. I ordered a Thai Tea boba (I'm basic, I know, lol), and it was great.
Uji time has is one of the best dessert spots in the area! They are located in the same plaza as Tasty Pot and 85* Bakery. There is plenty of parking around. The establishment is always clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly. There is a tablet available for ordering, but the staff is also ready to assist you if you prefer to place your order at the counter. I've tried many of their drinks and one thing I can say about this location is that they are always consistent. I have my favorite drinks and they always taste great. When I tried new ones, the drinks were always well-balanced and flavorful. Some of my favorite drinks are the Yusu Passionfruit. This drink is refreshing, well-balanced, and always delicious! I also loved their Ube Shake, Panda Milk Tea, and Mango Sago. They are all great drinks! I've also tried several of their ice cream flavors, and they are always creamy and not overly sweet. You also receive a lot with every order. Every time I walk into this store I can smell the freshly made Taiyaki Cones. They are always making them fresh! Getting ice cream with the Taikaki cone is the perfect dessert. Overall Uji Time is one of the best dessert places in the area!
I didn't get a chance to get anything from this store this time as I was too full from the lunch buffet few stores down. But I managed to take a photo of a new item. Super excited that they have Mille crepe cake slice with Ube flavor! I want to try that next time and will update when I get a chance to try it next time.
First-time trying this place today! I ordered the Matcha + Ube soft serve--it was tasty but quite mild in flavor. It's a good option for those who prefer their matcha light. Personally, I love a strong, rich matcha taste, so I felt it was just okay--pleasant, but not amazing. I also tried the Tiger Black Sugar drink (50% sweetness, less ice). Honestly, the tea flavor wasn't strong at all. Compared to Sharetea in Hercules, this one doesn't quite measure up in terms of richness and depth. Still, it was drinkable. The Matcha Milkshake was enjoyable with a nice texture, though the matcha again was on the lighter side. You get a faint aroma, but for the price, it's acceptable. Overall, this place is pretty good--clean space, decent pricing, and friendly service. Just know that if you're looking for a bold, authentic matcha experience, you might be better off visiting a dedicated matcha shop. This spot leans more toward light, dessert-style treats that satisfy a sweet craving rather than delivering intense tea flavors. The shop is quite small with limited seating, but that didn't bother me. One detail I really liked: if you dine next door at Tasty Pot, you can bring your receipt and get 10% off your purchase at Uji. Nice bonus!

Delicious! Came here with my fiancé & friends after we had dinner. I had gotten a cup of soft serve, stacking 2 flavors. The bottom soft serve was matcha & on top was Ube. The Ube was good, not too sweet & had that Ube flavor. Felt like good soft serve; no complaints. The matcha soft serve was also good. It was a bit powdery, which I found great, because that told me that they use real matcha! It was also not too sweet & I got that slight bitterness from the matcha. What really got me to give this place 5 stars wasn't even my food specifically, but the fish waffle cone! My fiancé had the cone with her soft serve in it, but she gave me a couple bites and the cone itself was amazing! It tasted like a waffle, but a bit more dense and sweeter. This was my first time here and I like that it's in the shopping center next to all the food places I like. My mom and I ordered the mango sago and my brother ordered the tiger black sugar with boba. I'm assuming my brother liked his drink because he finished it lol. My mom and I are so used to the mango sago at Juneov and actually prefer it there. I appreciate that this place adds ice to it. But the mango chucks are sour and taste like the green mangos. The sago was also overcooked a bit because it didn't have that tapioca consistency. We were completely stuffed from Korean food next door but saw the grand opening sign and wanted to give it a shot. Ordering on the tablet was a breeze. Pro tip: get your taiyaki on top of the ice cream rather than using it as a cone unless you like having sticky hands for the rest of the day lol. Overall, it was good but not amazing. The taiyaki was cold, but perhaps that's by design so as not to melt the soft serve? I loved the red bean filling - hearty, with just a hint of sweetness. Uji Time is the best taiyaki place in the Concord area! In comparison to other taiyaki places in the Bay, it is just alright. My friend and I ordered the Matcha and Black Sesame Soft Serve with the fish in cup. It comes with A LOT of soft serve which is nice. The soft serve was good, but not amazing. My friend and I both felt that the flavors were on the stronger end, but not in a good way. They have a good topping selection though :-) Service and Ambiance: Good amount of tables. Nice place to chill :-) The service was also good. They were friendly and fast! Pricing: $8 for soft serve w/ taiyaki, but it comes with 1 free filling and 2 free toppings. Me and my friend were looking for a boba spot after grabbing lunch together and Uji Time Dessert was the closest spot! I ordered the Strawberry Green Tea and thought it tasted great! I loved that they added fresh strawberry chunks inside the green tea, and the tea flavor was just prominent enough, but not too extreme which I really liked. My first visit to an Uji Time was to the SF Japantown location. I thought it was OK, but I've became a fan after visiting the San Mateo location, and was able to buy pints of Ice Cream there. I was sad they closed the San Mateo location. I'm glad I stumbled upon this one. I do wish we had a closer location in the South Bay. #Sugar: ~ Black Sesame & Vanilla Cola Swirl - 3/5. This one is tough! Individually both flavors are brilliant, however they don't work well in a Swirl. The Black Sesame dominates and overpowers the Vanilla Cola, as it's a much lighter flavor. The Vanilla Cola has a pleasant light mix of cola and Vanilla, not like Vanilla Coke; that's a Coke flavor I can't stand. I should have ordered the Vanilla Cola by itself ~ Uji Special - Matcha Red Bean - 3/5 Interesting little treat. Waffles on a Skewer with filling, except they most definitely forgot to put the Red Bean inside and my friends ate half of it before I had a chance to tell the staff about it. read more

Great and fast service since they weren't busy at 2pm. Wish they had some chili powder for the chicken karaage. The ube milkshake wasn't too sweet just the way I like it. The chicken karaage was crispy and hot but the waffle cone was just unnecessary. Saw that they had pints of durian ice cream which is really hard to find elsewhere so got 1 to go. Good food around the area always leads to Uji Time Dessert for our family. We almost always have a hearty Korean Bbq feast and without hesitation, go to Uji Time for some refreshing drinks. I always have their Ube milkshake. It has the usual ube taste but with some sweet yummy vanilla taste infused into it. My son always have their vanilla soft serve and that is a very good vanilla ice cream as well. Some of their fruit drinks, like the watermelon was a very refreshing drink after some heavy meat eating at Ohgane Bbq nearby. My daughter orders their Okinawa brown sugar and she likes it as well. But yeah, my staple which is the Ube milkshake is such a superlative after some good eating around the area. read more

My gf and I love to come here after our Korean BBQ runs from Ohganes (speaking of I must do a review for them as well...) But this place definitely checks off our subtle sweet tooth, even now in the cold December weather. My gf really likes to get their Matcha and Ube soft serve ice cream. I think the flavors of these two, are strong. I prefer their black sesame soft serve the most (pictured in the second pic). The black sesame isn't to sweet; I'm there for its subtle smoky flavor. Their taiyaki fish are good as atopping too, they are very soft and moist when you can get them fresh. I like their soft serve but their regular ice cream is also pretty good. They have more flavors and I've made it my goal to try all of them. I like the Hojicha; I think that flavor comes out really strong. However, the ice cream can be a little gummy so beware to those that are weirded out by different textures. I've also tried the Hokkaida milk tea flavor which is pretty good. I have tried their sides Uji Time fries and Chicken Kaarage and I did not prefer them as much. Their fries were slathered in a sauce that was too sweet and their chicken kaarage was too salty and overcooked. I personally think this spot is good for its desserts. I've also tried their chocolate and oreo egg puff skewers. They have a crunch on the outside while the inside texture reminds me of dry(-er) mochi. They aren't really sweet and have more of a subtle taste but I really like them. I def. recommend these for people to try if they haven't already. The space is pretty small and there are a lot of people that go in for their sweet treats. I would be careful sitting down at one of their tables. Sometimes, when its busy the staff forget to wipe down their tables after a group of people leave; sometimes the tables and chairs are sticky from other customers. But they are usually busy so I understand the struggle to upkeep their tables. The servers are usually fast when they serve the ice cream and there is usually a little wait time with the sides but it shouldn't be to long of a wait unless the place is packed. I recommend this place for families that have kids. They love the ice cream and I've seen how excited they get when they see all the different kinds of toppings. They especially love the taiyaki fish! This is def. a spot I will keep coming back to. read more

New uji time location opened up, and wanted dessert after Fuji's. I grabbed the matcha-ube swirl in the fish cone, and they poured a really heavy amount. I could not eat it fast enough to avoid the melt. Fish cone as good as the other locations, but I recommend getting a cup also so you don't have ice cream dripping on you. They offered waffle ball skewers that I have not seen before. A flavor similar to egg-waffles - my favorite was the matcha, but the Oreo was quite interesting (an Oreo cookie core in each circle). Plenty of parking outside and next to tons of Asian restaurants. The staff was very kind and was very willing to also give cups of water. read more

It's been very popular for a long time and a lot of different places, especially with young people and I was in introduced to it by my daughter. I am so glad she did. I love Uji Time both this location and in Berkeley!!:) Today they had Dorian ice cream (pic attached). It was not too sweet and delicious!! Conveniently located near 99 ranch market. Also there are Laos, taiwanese, Korean, Chinese restaurants and a bakery nearby. After you dine in at one of those restaurants or after shopping, this is a great place to stop by for some delicious dessert:) Service is usually fast. And people working there are nice:) read more

Glad to see another trendy food spot popping up in Concord. Stopped in for the first time to get ice cream after lunch. We arrived near opening so we were the only customers in the building, but as soon as 12 PM hit, the line started forming, as this is a very popular spot. Service is pretty fast, especially if you're just ordering ice cream in a cup or cone. There is one register and one tablet where you can place your orders. We ordered a black sesame and orange swirl ice cream and a grape cheese tea. Orange is a seasonal flavor, so there is always one flavor on the menu that will change. The grape cheese tea was interesting, but overall tasted like a Welch's grape juice. I would go again to try out their snacks because it looks like they have a variety or sweet and savory items. Parking: This is located in the Park & Shop, so there is a huge parking lot in the front and back of the buildings. Uji Time does not offer traditional ice cream flavors, such as chocolate and vanilla. The flavors are very unique and Asian inspired. Uji Time dessert qintroduced the first taiyaki to the San Francisco Bay Area. The soft mochi Ice cream is in Taiyaki cones shaped like a fish made of a sweet pancake batter. You eat the soft serve mochi ice cream from the mouth of the fish. The variety of Asian flavors are from real tofu, putting lychee bites into lychee ice cream, using yuzu imported from Japan, and blending 3-4 tea bags into the perfect taste of Hong Kong Milk Tea. Uji Time stands for using natural ingredients in their products. Making ice cream requires some emulsifiers, but they add the minimum amount of emulsifiers, and hence, their soft serve melts faster than other brands. The soft serve ice cream is very smooth and creamy. The taiyaki cone is excellent and goes perfectly with the soft serve ice cream. The passion fruit slushy was excellent. The passion fruit flavor was spot on. The servers were friendly and very helpful. The ambiance is simple and typical of an ice cream eatery. Seating is limited. I highly recommend going to and trying one of Uji times unique soft serve ice cream. read more

After a nice AYCE Korean bbq dinner, we needed something sweet. We walked a short bit to Uji Time. The place is pretty popular and it was full of customers. Lots of choices of flavors and toppings. I ordered a simple black sesame swirl in a waffle cone and my friends got matcha and ube swirls. The self order kiosk wasn't very user friendly so we did the old fashioned order at the counter. Such a convenience that this place is located right next door to the Tasty Pot. It's the best place to go to for dessert after a meal! Food - I ordered an upside down fish with vanilla ice cream, Nutella filling and chocolate stick+rice crisps toppings. It was tasty! The only thing is that I wish the taiyaki was fresh but I think it was sitting and cooled for awhile. Service - Very fast! The lady helping was very nice and helped me figure out which toppings to get. Environment - Lots of parking and tables to sit and enjoy your dessert in! It was nice and clean. I was visiting Concord and stopped here for ice cream. I got the ube ice cream and the Yuzu Passionfruit drink. It was a little pricey, but it was worth it. I find it difficult to find a good ube cream and this one was absolutely delicious. The flavor was perfect and it is good for 2 people. It personally was too much for just me so I was happy to share. Great way to end a dinner around the area and if you just came from Tasty Pot, you get 10% off your order with a receipt. So many matcha options which I adore! Even if you get a swirl in a cup, it's plenty! Love the options for toppings too. The rice crisps add a nice texture to the ice cream. Can never go wrong here. Not bad--drinks were alright and averagely priced. Easy ordering system on iPad at the front or with the cashier. No line, we just walked up and ordered. I asked the cashier if 75% sweetness is actually less sweet and she let me know that there's basically no difference between 100% and 75% sweetness; so, if you typically order less sweet drinks, go for 50% and below. We ordered a Tiger Black Sugar and Strawberry Green Tea w/ Crystal Boba, as well as a matcha ice cream mochi. Both of the drinks were 50% sweetness and honestly could have gone for 25%. Their drinks are apparently QUITE sweet. Their cups and tops are quite flimsy and feel cheap. We didn't drink them immediately and put them in a tote bag while we shopped next door; the brown sugar boba leaked into the bag a bit--not cute. Taste-wise, besides being overly sweet, the drinks were not bad. I wasn't expecting much based on the drinks' appearance + how the cups looked/felt, so I was pretty surprised. The brown sugar boba was brown sugar-y and creamy and the boba itself had a nice, soft texture. The green tea had fresh strawberry chunks, but it also had a distinct artificial strawberry flavor, so I'm assuming they add syrup to the drink. The green tea flavor was nice and apparent. The drinks came out quickly, as there were no orders ahead of us. The service was friendly. Overall, a decent place for dessert/boba. Despite being around ~$6 per drink, I think this place is probably slightly below average compared to other boba shops, especially since both drinks included toppings. Would probably return if we're in the mood for something sweet after having a meal at other restaurants in the plaza. read more

This location has an extensive menu. I've never been to this location before and used to frequent their Newark location when they were still open. Unfortunately the matcha soft serve was not good. It hardly had any flavor and was super bitter. We also ordered matcha drinks and they did not have much matcha flavor to them as well. I didn't finish my soft serve and ended up throwing out the rest of it :( read more

Uji Time Dessert opens nearby 85 Bakery. there's seating inside. menu has expanded beyond it's niche soft serve ice cream. offerings: flavored tea, milk tea, dessert drink, smoothies, matcha, slushy, latte, soft serve ice cream: matcha, black sesame, ube, vanilla, seasonal. eats: black sesame soft serve ice cream in cone (6) -the soft serve is so soft that it fell off the cone, landed on table. cashier was nice enough to redo my soft serve, putting it in a cup *soft serve isn't as firm as foster freeze version. -big portion, taste of black sesame very subtle, toasted version, natural taste, no sugar added. -comes out of taylor type machine that also serves frozen yogurt, soft serve ice cream. licks: -lots of parking in lot. -quick, courteous service. -ice cream is definitely pricey, novelty wears off quickly. expanded menu looks interesting. read more
