Ivan was an amazing server and the food was to die for. The atmosphere was very low key and laid back.

So Ulele was on point per usual. I have left a few reviews for them before. However, seeing that they made a few changes to the look of the menu and actually added a couple things, I thought it was time to update my review and circle back to just you all know how great they still are.... They have a new appetizer, Panko-Crusted Sautéed Shrimp. It was good. The bread that accompanied it was delish too but I felt like they should have paired it with another carb. It was food though. As far as the main (lunch) dish, I ordered my go to dish, Gouda Grouper. It comes with rice and mixed veggies. I mix it up a bit though and get mashed potatoes and spinach. BOMB.COM. Seriously. The only thing I did different this time was add crab to my mashed potatoes...great decision. I love this spot...the ambience, customer service, food, etc. it's just all good and gives me great vibes when I go whether it be for lunch or dinner. The Mac and cheese is a waste of money, it isn't even ok. The short rib on it is also dry and crispy at some bites. The "famous" meat loaf is mediocre at best. Very disappointed to spend fine dining money for mid level quality food. read more

Uleles is one of my favorite restaurants to walk to!! I love the oysters, they are always very fresh and a reasonable size!! I typically order the grouper, you can't go wrong with it! My favorite drink is definitely the Frosè but make Sure that you top it off with Grand Marnier!!! read more

Ulele truly goes above and beyond and is a shining example of exemplary customer service. The food was amazing, but the service truly set Ulele on a pedestal when it comes to dining options in Tampa (and beyond). We were welcomed by the manager who told us about the restaurant after asking if it was our first time visiting (it was!). He gave us a table facing the sunset, which was amazing. Our server, Edward, went above and beyond to offer us menu suggestions and even offered to give us a tour of the brewery on site. He was hilarious, and so personable - we loved him!! Our food was incredible - I especially loved the beet salad, jalapeño cornbread muffins, and a nice glass of pinot grigio selected by Edward (even their wine glasses are beautiful). We ended the night with a scoop of cookie dough ice cream, which was the perfect amount to share. I am sad that I do not live closer, as I would be here every weekend! If I could, I would give this place 2.5, but I always round up. Ambiance is 4/5. It's a great spot, with great decor and and a huge space to enjoy with friends and family. I can see why people would love to hang out here especially with the outdoor space! Food is 2/5. The food was a total miss for me. Over salted and overcooked. I got the seafood risotto because I was told the seafood was caught local and fresh. They could have caught the fish that day in Tampa Bay, but no amount of freshness was going to save my dish. Lack of culinary execution, rubbery scallops, some weird cream corn and lobster that looked like it came out of a can, just made it a major miss for me. I could go through every dish I had, but honestly the narrative would be the same poor execution resulting in poor taste. I really wanted to like this place because it came highly recommended, but I can't in good conscience give it my stamp of approval. I will say it would be a fun spot to have a drink and enjoy the amazing Tampa weather. read more

I was visiting for the weekend and a friend recommended I try Ulele. It's located right off the river walk and the view and atmosphere are great. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a bar outside that you can walk up to and grab a drink to go. I did not have a reservation, but didn't have to wait too long for a table. It was maybe 30min. So in the meantime I grabbed a beer from the outdoor bar and walked around. Once seated, the waitress brought water and gave me time to look over the menu. I ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters to start. What was brought out to me were charbroiled oysters. I told the server who brought them out that I ordered raw, but he sold me on the chargrilled. They were just ok. They were over cooked and had too much cheese on them. The waitress walked be me multiple times before asking if I needed anything. I was finally able to order an entree. I ordered the Seafood Risotto. It was very delicious!! As I was eating I finished my beer and water. The waitress asked if I would like more water and I said yes. She never came back with water. I finished my meal and she asked if I wanted dessert.(Still waiting on my water). I ordered the Chocolate Torte. As I was enjoying the dessert, I had to ask again for water. She finally brought it out when I was halfway done with the dessert. My final takeaways from Ulele are: the food was really good! But the service could be better. read more

My experience this time around wasn't as great as my last time, but I still would recommend this place. My wife and I ordered the 14oz tomahawk pork chop- outstanding. My fries were cold! I had to have them do another batch of fresh fries. The calamari was great, seasoned differently and deliciously. My son had the Munster Panko crusted chicken, he loved it for 2 reasons. It was seasoned so good and a great nice portion! My biggest con was our waitress, seem to have gotten distracted or was too busy but I had to get up twice to ask another waiter for help concerning our order and another time I had to go to a hostess for just some simple ketchup. read more

Where do I begin with this special place! The outside seating was awesome. They are very dog friendly ( there is a great dog park right next to it). The food and service were exceptional! First time at Ulele and it was phenomenal. My wife had the seafood risotto which I couldn't stop stealing bites from. I had the short rib and it was delicious. This is such a beautiful location next to downtown Tampa. The food is super delicious and full of flavor. They have redfish and pompano which are amazing fish to eat. The service is amazing! James is such an amazing server! He's professional, friendly, and welcoming! He told explain to us a little information about Ulele and gave us post cards with history in the back for our fridge. If I lived in Tampa I would spend ALL my money here. I got the gin&tonic, and I loved it. I love that they use local florida gin from st. Augustine, I love that the kumquat marmalade is homemade from Dade County kumquats, and I loved how pretty the drink was (and it was so refreshing). The atmosphere is so fun - lots of spots to play cornhole or sit by the water and watch the turtles and the fish! The food was AMAZING. Loved the alligator hush puppies, loved the fried grits, loved the seafood risotto, and loved the meatloaf! But above all, our waitress was incredible. Love the ambiance here! The outside dining with oversize fans, covered tables, and overlooking the pond made for a great experience. The inside is huge and can accommodate a good number of tables. We stopped by on a Tuesday around 3:00 and while it was packed, there were still tables available, however, as the night on, almost every table inside/outside was packed. I do not know if they accept reservations, but if they do, I strongly recommend because this place is very popular. First valet park or .. just try and figure it out if you from out of town. I did the latter as construction made getting to the valet stand from the correct direction challenging. Once inside the place is beautiful and makes for an inviting atmosphere. The outside areas are both heated when needed and whimsical (a nice touch). Service was excellent and the menu focused on dishes from the sea but also has enough options to satisfy any palette or diet. Have been here a few times for business functions but would definitely make this a date night when in the area. Visited Ulele during. girls trip to Tampa. What a wonderful find! The story of the Ulele name is warm, the location is fun and easy to find. We shared many apps/salad and loved everything. BTW no problem with our gluten intolerance, many options. The grilled oysters, the Portabella stack, the Mac&cheese, everything was so delish. Atmosphere is great. Our wonderful waiter, Ivan, was outstanding! He was helpful without intrusion and was so very pleasant! The one thing to remember is to HAVE YOUR PARKING TICKET VALIDATED, so there is a large fee if you do not.
