I noticed there are several negative reviews here. I honestly cannot say the same. I have not had one single negative experience at this location. They maintain pretty busy but even then when I needed help I just asked and someone is always able to help out or asked me to wait a moment while they finished up with another customer. As far as returns, I've never had an issue returning items I didn't like. Store is clean and their merchandise stock is usually good given the circumstances we are currently living in. I will say I've never tried the hair salon so I can't comment on that. Sorry maybe I just see the world differently. Yesterday I had the WORST hair service of my life. The stylist was told to do a blonde full foil and I left with orange/brown roots and green ends. I've never been so upset. She didn't process the top long enough but put a toner on to cover her errors, a toner that was left on far too long and turned my hair dark. I was mortified. The manager was apathetic and didn't address that the stylist messed up. The stylist kept saying "she agreed on the toner color." Yes I agreed to toner but didn't agree to orange highlights and toner all over, and left on too long. Deeply upset. On top it this, the stylist was incredibly rough and left my scalp in pain. I will never go back to this location for any reason ever again. Now I have to spend a lot of money to get a blonde specialist to fix all these errors. read more

Nine times out of ten, the product(s) I'm looking for are not in stock, requiring me to order online. This time around, I checked in for two pickup orders and waited in the parking lot for over twenty minutes before I had to unload my 18-mo old and go inside to grab the orders. If you're going to offer curbside pickup for convenience, then get your system checked and make sure you have enough employees to do the job. Why are almost all Ultas like this?? read more

Its one thing to have absurd policies, its another issue entirely to be insufferably rude and unprofessional. If you purchase online you have to bring an id to prove it's you. This is because makeup apparently is a top secret dangerous item that needs identification verification. You will not be asked professionally to verify this information you will be asked by someone who has not been trained and professional customer service behavior. Then you'll get back up from the insufferably rude manager, who has not been trained in customer service behavior either. Seriously how did these people ever find jobs acting like this? Very bad experience with the manager at Ulta. Extremely unprofessional and rude. I bought an item for $12.99, but she only offered to refund $2.99, even though I spent over $250 that same day. Is that reasonable? The employee at the register didn't properly include the item on my receipt -- that's not my fault as a customer. The manager should have at least checked the cameras to confirm that I purchased the item from their store. This is really disappointing and not the kind of service I expected from Ulta. GO anywhere else but here! I was looking for a nice fragrance for a birthday gift and I decided on Lancome ete le belle (sp?). The tester bottle was a 2.4 ounce, and I waved down a store staff and asked if I could purchase this bottle. The young lady looked at the bottom of the bottle to identify which fragrance and size I handed her... And then she went to the back to get the box. When she came out, she had a box much bigger than what was necessary for what I asked for. I asked if I could see what she had brought from the back and she showed me a 3.5 ounce. The difference in price was $115 for the 2.4 ounce and $150 for the 3.5 ounce. I asked her why she got the 3.5 ounce when I handed her a 2.4 ounce as the example of what I wanted to purchase? She said she cannot see that well and didn't know which one to grab. I politely told her I was not interested in buying as it felt like a "provide the much more expensive version and hope I wasn't paying attention" situation. I asked to speak to the manager to let her know what happened. the manager told me her name was Brittany. I told her what happened and without asking a single question she immediately declared "it was a miscommunication", and she can go get the correct bottle. I suggested that it could not be miscommunication since I handed the bottle, and she looked carefully at it before going to the back room to pick what I wanted. I do not recommend shopping here... Maybe they are on commission, I don't know. I'll never go there again since they are willing to cheat customers. The management is not interested in customer service, but just blindly rejecting the feedback without any interest in understanding what happened. Ok so, my right eye waters everyday all day long. I've tried every eye drop on the market. I even used my hubby's prescription eye drop. Well, over Christmas break I went a day without wearing make up. Guess what? No, Leaky Eye. So, I put two and two together and thought...I'm allergic to one of my eye make ups. I only wear MAC and have worn is for Many years. So, here I am at Ulta trying to find a hypoallergenic makeup line. The sales associate was so sweet. She said really only one is Almay. She helps me pick out items that are similar to what I already wear in the MAC line. So today I'm wearing my new make up and guess what??? My eye is NOT leaking! I went to this Ulta for several items. I was greeted by an employee wearing all black I told her i wanted a shade of MAC lipstick which she found. I then went to get some Nixan moose she came back to me and stood over me I asked her why the cans have no lids she replied they get knocked off during shipment this woman refused to let me sample the Victor Roff flower bomb testers she said they were put up she was extremely rude. I took my lipstick and can of moose and proceeded to walk around the store. She approached me again and asked if she could help me I'm annoyed at this she has because obnoxious. I have the lipstick and moose in my hand she asked me did you put that lipstick back she then sees it in my hand. She's full fledged accusing me of stealing. I went to the register and told the manager Victoria I didn't appreciate the employees behavior I felt very uncomfortable and didn't appreciate being called a thief. I took pictures of her following me in the stores every where i went. I live in Greenville and will walk around the store till the traffic on 380 dies down. I believe being called a thief is against the law perhaps Ulta will hear from my attorney. I've shopped this store for 10 years. I also recorded her accusing me of stealing the lipstick. The salon does suck they ruined my daughters never ever let them do your hair. They have a very high turnover of employees. read more

One of my favorite Ulta locations that I have visited. The employees have always greeted me as soon as I walk in, no matter how busy they are. They always seem to have enough staff on location and they are always walking around and asking if you need any assistance. I like this Ulta location because it has a special Lancome section which is the brand I mostly use for cleansing, serums and make-up. Stephanie works the Lancome counter and is a great source of help with whatever you need. She is outgoing and personable and a great asset to Ulta. She has also suggested other products throughout the store. They always are stocked and have more than enough products throughout the store. The Fairview location is currently moving locations so until then a lot of the staff and salon techs are going to other locations. My hairstylist Adam will be moving to location until the new location is built. If you are looking for a new salon and great stylist then he is the one you want to go to. He gets booked very fast so plan ahead. It will be nice to have him at this location so I can get my hair done and get all the makeup products I need since Lancome is not offered at all the places. read more

I honestly would leave 0 stars if I could. Booked a full highlight. The gentleman doing my hair seemed scatter brained but I shook it off as it was the end of the day. He only did my roots and upon asking once I noticed he said well you wanted a full highlight that's what this is. I've had several highlight sessions and usually it's pulling sections out and starting from root to ends on that section using lighter. He said he didn't feel comfortable doing that, which is respectful but I told him I wish he would have told me before the service started so I could have then walked away. The manager would not do anything but discount the service 30%. He then always put a brown color on my hair, thank god another lady saw and stopped him. I think this is probably a honest mistake though since he said he hadn't worked with the toners they use. After washing my hair he almost let me walk out with half my hair completely wet still! I've been to some not great salons but this one was absolutely the worst. My hair is splotchy, he completely disregarding the back of my head, not at all what I booked and asked for and the service itself was awful. I left with wet hair, wet clothes and a panic attack from having to explain the situation in front of customers to the manager who continues to argue I got the service I booked. If you google full highlight it does not mention only the roots. 30% is a slap in the face. Save yourself the time and money and go to a better "real" salon. read more

Update: After I made this review the girl then took it upon herself go to all my social media accounts and figure out she had done business with a family member of mine months ago. She went and changed a 5 star review she had made for them to a 2 star review. Then went on to also claim I threatened her as well as other things. (That last words I spoke to this girl was her telling me to rebook early for holiday appointments) When the manager at the store was called about her doing this I was then blown off and they acted like no big deal yet again. This girl not only ruins peoples hair but if you leave and bad review for her stalks your personal life as well. Do not go to this salon. They have one stylist is horrible and will not do anything close to what you asked for. Grew my hair out for months only for her to chop it all off which was not anywhere close to what I asked her for. She stuffed so much product into my hair and had it sticking up everywhere I couldn't even tell what it looked like when I left. I didn't say a word to her about the fact that she just hacked off all the hair on the back and sides of my head that I spent months to grow out. I am getting married in a month and now look like sideshow bob and it can't be fixed thanks to this stylist. When I went to the store to complain and ask for a refund the employees could care less about it either. Very off putting and rude. read more

I love that they do Al la cart hair service as I am growing my hair and don't want cuts when I color. Most hair stylist want to cut when they color. I really needed a haircut and color. I didn't want anything exciting just basic overall multi-dimensional. I told her this. She came back trying to upset me on highlights, conditioners, etc and was over $100 more than I thought I'd spend. I had to say no which seemed to really irritate my stylists. I got my hair done Saturday. The color has already faded, she butchered my hair cut. It's taken me forever to grow my hair out and she cut uneven layers into my thin curly hair. I asked for a very small trim and she took multiple inches off my hair. It looks awful. It took me so long to get it long and even and now here i am at point A where someone has no idea how to cut curly hair. Additionally, she left hair dye all over my face to the point that I had to go buy something to remove it. I've been getting my hair colored for 16 years and never seen anything like it. The color was pretty for a day and that's all that I have to say that's nice. She had zero personality, seemed annoyed the entire time and I will literally never step foot back in that salon again. I'm still upset by how much I paid for such a bad haircut and color. It is what it is but at least others can be warned. read more

I don't usually get bad service but tonight was the night I encountered my first bad service from ulta. I came in there looking for some help with makeup advice but everyone working didn't try to approach me so I did the best I could with picking out my own makeup. Every worker seemed like they were busy stocking the store or organizing it when some of the aisles I encountered were no where near organized. The brush section looked like it would be a game of hide and go seek since you couldn't find anything but eye shadow brushes. Then when I came to the cashier to cash out my 2 orders the cashier Elisa gave me an attitude. I went shopping for myself and a friend of mine so I needed to do 2 separate transactions. So since I was going to do 2 transactions I was going to use the coupon we both found online and Elisa refused to take the coupon twice. She said that it wouldn't work because it's the same coupon. I thought this was idiotic because everyone that uses this coupon from their online site uses the same exact code! Nothing is different! The thing that irritated me the most is that I needed to do 2 transactions with 2 different cards because I didn't want to buy my friend's makeup but Elisa was giving me a hard time about letting me do that. She also gave me a hard time with using my ulta points with my transaction which I had to tell her 3 times that I have points and she can use it. Overall this experience at this ulta was horrible and I feel bad for anyone coming in here for help. Some of these ladies have to be in the mood to help you or they will just make themselves look busy. Or these workers can be just like Elisa who seems miserable at her job and has an attitude with all the customers she encounters. read more

Mary checked me out at the end of my time there. I had a bunch of rewards to use and the system was being funky so she and the manager let me process 2 separate transactions to be able to use all my rewards! She was very professional and although checking out took a very long time and multiple efforts, she was so very kind and patient! She never once acted annoyed or bothered by any of it which I found very encouraging. I was greeted and the door was held open by another employee when I got there which was very nice. The only complaint is that it was hard to get help while shopping. I asked where a certain brand was and the lady who showed me was nice, but promptly left and offered no further service. I had another question- if my favorite eyeliner was out of stock or if it was just not on the shelves at the moment, but after seeming to have initially bothered her since she walked away so quickly, I didnt want to ask anyone. I ended up just trying out a new one which I guess isnt so bad since I might (will hopefully) like it better! My favorite currently runs out pretty quickly. All in all, a great experience and had a wonderful morning for some "me time!" read more

Salon here is AMAZING. I went to Ulta in Frisco previously, and they messed my hair up BAD! It was bad y'all. I came into the McKinney Cameron crossing off of 75, was greeted by friendly happy workers! The salon manager, is phenomenal. Jache. Haley was my stylist, but upon seeing what the other store had done, Jache jumped in, and as a team they tried to correct the other stores mess. I mean these women, stayed late to help me, they both had kids, my stylist was pregnant, absolutely no complaints from either of them at all, they did everything above and beyond. Kaitlyn was the stylist beside mine, and even she was chiming in trying to help figure out the best plan for my hair! Awesome team work, amazing work, make sure you are satisfied, go above and beyond to make sure that you are taken care of. This will be my new go to salon, if you want attentive, great customer service, great work, this is the place to visit, they will take care of you. read more

My hair was ruined by this Ulta Salon. I had to spend hundreds of dollars getting it fixed. I was supposed to have natural blonde highlights and I was turned into a dark brunette. How does this even happen? The manager "fixed" my hair 3 times before I finally went to a professional salon in Dallas. The manager is a joke there. She thinks she knows what she is doing and doesn't have a clue. I had my hair fixed in Dallas and it looked amazing. I went into Ulta to have it trimmed. HUGE MISTAKE. I know they ruined the color of my hair and I shouldn't have given them another chance but their cost is good and I figured they couldn't mess up a trim. Before she started cutting my hair she said "you're highlights look amazing! who did them?" I should have run away right then and there. What I got was a revenge cut. The manager HACKED my hair into scary layers. It took months to grow out. Everyone that saw my hair asked me who revenge cut my hair. read more

During my appointment she communicated with me knowledge of products she was using and at the end of the appointment took me over to each one! She is so well versed in her craft and has such a knack for what she does! The conversation flowed smoothly and the results spoke for themself! My hair was beautifully blended blonde and was more than I could have dreamed of. She went above and beyond making my hair beautiful and making it a wonderful experience. Well...I'll start with store appearance NOW vs when they first opened some 6 years ago. Now, testers are a bit dirty and frequently displays are not refreshed or are just plain messy and dirty. Six years aho everything was fresh and well kept. Store floor was even clean! Now, not so much at all. Should I mention names of less-than-helpful employees? I mean, I am in the Prestige department so this is not drug-store makeup I can get just anywhere...its high dollar stuff thats not in stock or i have to ask repeatedly about new (but invisible) product. There are a couple of somewhat helpful girls but again they seem to be the exception not the rule. How about the stone-faced manager who, when employees ask for help, she just stared and acted inconvenienced by any questions? Other Ulta stores? Probably better. This one is being managed (mismanaged) into the ground. Clearly Ulta doesn't require real employee development/management skills or even marketing/business acumen in their management. read more

I had the worse experience ever to the point where I felt embarrassed. I had made an appointment for my hair over the phone and was told that I will be with a master stylist at 4pm. When I got to this location, 2 women in the salon looked at me real weird, but still asked if I had an appointment. I said yes and gave them my name. The first one said I didn't have an appointment, the second one which is Sheryl said I did. She sat me down in her chair, watched me unravel my hair just to turn around and say she don't have the time to do my hair. She walked over to the computer and started talking with the other lady. If that was the case, they should have asked me what my hair type was over the phone, instead of me driving to a location that couldn't do my hair, and Sheryl should not have the title of master hair stylist. The look they both gave me confirmed that they wanted nothing to do with my hair and they didn't even offer to reschedule. The way they acted and the way they made me feel, made me feel like they were being racist towards me. On that note, I don't think I would shop at Ulta again. read more

I went here to have a trial run before my wedding to get my hair done and it turned out so beautiful! That wasn't my problem, I'm giving one star because I booked my appointment over a month in advance. And I ended up be able to have someone else do it closer to the location of my wedding. So I call Ulta a couple days before to cancel and low and behold.. the person who was supposed to do my hair wasnt working there anymore and they removed my appointment without even contacting me! This is the only Ulta I've ever had a bad experience at. I bought multiple items and when I got home one was missing from the bag. I called up there the next day and had to call again 8 hours later because the manager never called me back. After a second day of no response, I went up there and they checked the security footage and the lipstick rolled off the counter but they couldn't give me one because it was out of stock. Save yourself, and go to ANY of the other Ulta location in the metroplex. The last 6 or so visits have all been really bad. The restrooms were filthy with toilet paper on the floor and in disrepair needing fixtures replaced. Half of the employees are nice or decent, but the other half are terrible. They are little snots. Very unhelpful, wont acknowledge you and when they do act like you're wasting their time. I thought I'd get around it by doing an online order pickup since it is the closest store. Nope. I only ordered 2 bottles of nail polish. On the way out I thought the bag felt light and sure enough, they only put 1 bottle in. I went back to the online order pick up area. It was a Thursday or Friday morning, so not super crowded. I waited several minutes, but no one came to check on me. An employee behind the cash register just a few feet away was playing on her phone, looked up at me, and went back to playing with her phone. At that point I went and just grabbed the nail polish I paid for. I have never had any issues with rude employees in Allen, Prosper, Plano, Frisco, etc. or the stores being dirty. The McKinney location needs new management and training because it is a bad representation of the Ulta brand. read more
