The energy was weird in here, like weirdly busy for the time of day and I wish I had been greeted immediately when I walked into the door because I just wanted one thing, but then De Love found me after a few minutes and she was amazing and helpful and knowledgeable!! The cashier was not very responsive or kind idk if it's because I wasn't wearing any makeup or what but she stared at me in line and fully turned away as I was asking a question, didn't offer a bag or anything as I was paying, and watched me drop a bunch of little things after I paid bc I didn't bring in my purse or anything to hold it with and then just walked away quickly without a thank you or anything else. Just extend some kindness and awareness next time bc that part made me feel weird and unwelcome. Extremely poor customer service. I sent my partner to cascade station to pick up an order I made on my birthday and he was treated extremely poorly. This is a super busy Ulta store. Although there were many customers in the store, the employees still maintained their quality of service. I am very impressed. I came here with my teens who started to worry about their acne problem. When we were browsing around, a lady came to ask if she could help. She listened to us patiently, and then she recommended some good products for my teens to try out. There were so many customers in the store, so there was a long line for check out. However, everything was in order. Nobody was in rush, and the employees were always friendly and patient. There was a small incident. I picked up a facial cleanser (not a tester) for my teens without checking if it was full. After I paid and went to the parking lot, I saw 1/3 of the content was gone, so I went back to the store. I do like the different products they carry. I am so frustrated with the sales staff not knowing or caring what's on sale. Extremely poor sales advertisements, as well as not marked appropriate. A sales gal( only one) nice but unknowlagable of what the sales advertisement in the catalog are. I show the manager , she was unaware as well. I get what states is on sales 3/8-3/28 and it says NOTHING about being a daily only sale for certain products. I try to purchase a juice beauty cleanser, the sales person shows me.I get up to cash register only to find its the wrong cleanser, they had no more of the correct cleaner. I had placed an online order that had a gift with purchase for over $25 of that product (briogeo) I paid $66 for my order so I should of gotten two gifts or one for sure. When the order arrived I didn't have any free gifts, in the past Ive gone to ulta instore and gotten the free gifts I was supposed to get so I did that today and they said they're online only and I had to call customer service. I called customer service and the lady told me that my order qualifies for the free gifts and that I didn't add them to my order. They automatically add to your order, who wouldn't want the free gifts given to them?? I went on my phone while on the phone with her and added them to my order and they were applied automatically again. She said I would have to return my stuff and reorder them online again and add them to my order. I said why can't you just ship them to me without me having to return them. She said they are only limited stock so she can't promise they have them. So I said can you check cause I dont want to return them just to get nothing again. Okay, the workers were pretty nice, but the lines! Every time I go in there, there is a long line and only one slow person on the register. I got especially annoyed when another person on the register finally came, the other one saw that I was waiting and left. I work in retail in Cascade station, and we try never to have people waiting too long in line, especially near Christmas. We always have three trained registered people ready to check out! That way, we don't lose customers or have abandoned purchases. I ended up not buying the perfume and stuff I had in my basket. Disappointed with their reg system and training. To top it off, they didn't let me use my 20% off coupon for my first time.... It was $170 and I had to try and even out the "haircut" and got charged for a deep conditioning treatment I didn't get asked about. Went through a whole ordeal when it came to making a salon appointment for both my sister and I. Wrote to Ulta customer service about it because I was frustrated with the salon manager (not the stylist, it's not their fault at all) and received a call from the general manager, Taylor, in which she accused me of speaking badly about her management team, referred to me as "toxic" and told me that I could never make an appointment at the salon again. I came in about three weeks ago. There was an employee working there with red hair, I didn't catch their name and I'm sorry I didn't. She recommended a bunch of Tula products. I bought one, the calming vitamin B serum. I was originally going to purchase the drunk elephant but she suggested the Tula. It was at a better price point even. I got the product, took it home and have been using it every day since I got it. My skin is hydrated, even toned, great texture, and i even see my dark spots fading. I have also been using the ordinary Azelaic acid that I bought this trip that is also a new holy grail that I use every day twice a day. I decided to try some more Tula products so I recently purchased the retinol alternative which is amazing. It's cooling, but I feel my skin firmed and it glows. People have been guessing that I'm 10 year younger than what I am. The Tula calming vitamin B serum is so calming it has allowed me to use some of the products my skin previously reacted to. He went above and beyond and was incredibly sweet. He gave me wonderful Dad advice as a soon to be Mom and really helped me find a moment of self care after months of morning sickness and losing myself. The manager went above and beyond with my online order. With online pickups, I couldn't use any reward points, or utilize in-store credit, so I asked if I could return my order and repurchase it. The manager happily issued my return and reapplied the $5 coupon I had used for the online order, applied the $10 worth of store credit I had on a card, and applied $3 of reward points on top of that. Whew-whee! I apologized for all the work I made her do, but she brushed it off and said she'd want someone to do the same for her. Love! I saved a lot of money thanks to her. Even though something went wrong with the transaction and I had to contact Ulta customer service after, I understand that mine was a complicated transaction and I really can't bring myself to fault her. The store had items I never see at other Ultas! Not to mention it's organized, stocked well, and there's multiple workers at the registers and on the floor at any given time. read more

This is my favorite Ulta location. The store is always so clean and bright, well-staffed and well-stocked. The service is friendly, not pushy. Plenty of room to wander. They have a wonderful selection of lower-priced and high-end, designer products (M.A.C., Benefit, Urban Decay, etc.). Unlike Nordstrom, for example, you can peruse and select makeup without having to ask someone behind the counter, who will inevitably try to sell you three times as much as you need. I love that they carry a wide variety of Pacifica products (my favorite vegan, cruelty-free beauty brand), as well as some lesser known products. I feel like I discover something new every time I visit. With Ulta's great coupons and other promotions, you can't go wrong. Love Hate relationship with this location. For once theres an Ulta with employees ACTUALLY doing their jobs!!! They walk around, offer help or ask if you have any questions etc. Downside? It's like being stalked while trying to peruse the aisles. I could be asked If i need anything 20x in a 7 minute period. They carry a lot more than other Ultas (Like a MAC area!). The one thing i hate about stores like this is the (for example) MAC reps who walk around act like they want to help you but they just pitch MAC products and lie. I went in and tested a Stila Kohl pencil and a Urban Decay 24/7 pencil. They were smudge and budge proof, love it! This MAC guy came by and asked if i needed help, I asked him which of the 2 i swatched does he think is the best buy.... he directed me to MAC kohl pencils and told me how they are better than the rest and they wont smudge or budge. I swatched it and gave it about 20mins of shop time before testing it. I tried rubbing it and it smeared EVERYWHERE, not cool guy. They CAN have good deals. But they dont carry the lines and products that a lot of prestige fans love. Thats an ULTA issue though, not this location. read more

I had a root touchup, by a newer stylist, and a week or so afterwards when I went to put my hair in a ponytail, I noticed that a number of spots were missed. There was at least an inch deep of missing coverage on my neckline and around my ears...that's just what I could see. I unexpectedly left early to go on a trip and when I called it was two weeks to the date from my original appointment. I was hoping they would redo my root touchup and use this as a learning opportunity for a newer stylist. I was told that the manager said I would have had to call within a couple of days for them to do anything. I told them I was very disappointed. I've had crazy experiences with Ulta through the holidays and this is between the Gresham and Cascade Station store. I came back to the Cascade station and Riley was amazing at hearing my experiences between the stores and helping me with my returns. She asked Diego to assist me finding the things I needed and he totally delivered. I learned a lot in the few minutes I spent with him and he was totally respectful of my needs. I'm happy with my purchases and Riley was sweet enough to gift some samples for the chaos I had been through along with helping out with my new purchases. Headed to Ulta to get my wife a new perfume. Showed up at the store to see that the entire fragrance section was empty, and I mean EMPTY. No bottles out for purchase, no bottles put to even test. How am I supposed to choose a fragrance if I can't even smell a tester?? Don't waste your time at this location, just head to the Ulta at Clackamas where they have everything available to test out and nice staff. read more

I went in to get a haircut and style and didn't really have something very specific in mind - except that I wanted a bit more volume and for my hair to frame my face a bit more snugly, if you know what I mean. Tyler made lots of great suggestions, kept checking in with me about length, and made every effort to make sure I was happy with how things were going. On top of all this, he was relaxed and easygoing, which made me very comfortable. I was able to fully trust his judgment and I am not disappointed! My new style is only a couple of hours old right now so I can't speak to how it behaves after sleep and a hairwash, but all I can say is, it's as good as it gets when you look in the mirror at the end of one of these sessions. Meghan is fantastic and I would recommend anyone trust her with their hair. Honestly Ulta wasn't the first place I thought of when going through a major hair transformation, but I'm so glad I did! I was super apprehensive to let anyone touch my long hair, especially after so long of not having it cut. I wanted a mix between subtle highlights, a balayage with face framing highlights or "the money piece," as well as cutting off at least half the length of it. I checked out so many salons but still felt quite nervous, but after I had a consultation with Meghan and expressed my wants and concerns, I felt so relieved. She is an amazing listener and gives you exactly what you want. She also takes her time and pays extra special attention every time. Not only is she magic with hair, but she is so absolutely kind and lovely! On top of that, it was so affordable and ended up costing so much less than I expected! I'm pretty sure i've been black listed to their salon haha!! Last year I scheduled a total blonde and the signature haircut for my wedding day, I made sure to do it a couple days ahead in case something didn't go well with the color. Tyler talked to me on the phone we planned it out and he got me scheduled. The day I was supposed to go in to get it done I thought it was off that I didn't receive any reminders so I called the salon to confirm, Tyler picked up and recognized me shortly after mentioning he did remember our talk but couldn't find the appointment in the system after talking for a little he let me know there was nothing he could do on his end. A year passed and the stress from life caused me to rip majority of my hair out (nothing crazy, just looked like an uneven haircut, just a heads up don't twirl your dead ends) I scheduled the appointment with ulta, got the day off knowing this would be a long service. Tyler called me a couple days before the appointment asking for details him and I went over all it all he knew why it was important for me to come in, it did definitely feel like he remembered me because I scheduled with Alexia not him. The day of the appointment, 45 minutes before I had to arrive I got a call from Alexia letting me know they won't be able to accept me because they have to "prioritize their customers and make sure the customers leave with what they asked for" I asked Alexia "what about me, this is really important to me I scheduled ahead of time just like everyone else and took the day off for this reason" she proceeded to repeat "I understand" I corrected her and brought my wedding hair appointment for her to see she does not understand. She followed with "I understand". When I asked if they could check for other available locations she answered "so, we actually can't do that" we just stood and listening to each other breath after that, come on..... If you see this review I'm telling you i'm only trying to save your time, these people do NOT care about you! While waiting on hold trying to call the store I saw at least three other shoppers walk up to the door and leave confused. When I finally got through to an employee on the phone and mentioned that the doors were locked she replied without any surprise, "oh let me go open the doors for you".
