Unfortunately, my experience left a very negative impression. While browsing, I mistakenly tried a small amount of a body oil on my skin without realizing it was not a tester. I immediately understood my mistake when Julia informed me. However, instead of simply correcting me, she made the situation feel unnecessarily public and embarrassing. In front of other customers, she emphasized that it was not a tester and that the product now had to be removed. After I apologized and explained that I genuinely didn't know, she continued bringing it up while walking me to the body oil section. The interaction became even more uncomfortable at checkout. I mentioned that another employee, whom I believe was named Braylen, had helped me locate the perfume I originally came in for and had already brought it to the register. Julia then abruptly grabbed the bottle of oil I had mistakenly opened and placed it behind her in a manner that made me feel as though I was being treated like a potential thief rather than a paying customer. To top it off, after the entire interaction, she asked if I wanted to sign up for Ulta's rewards program. That felt incredibly tone-deaf considering how unwelcome and judged I had already been made to feel. Overall, the experience felt condescending and, at times, dismissive in a way that left me feeling uncomfortable and singled out. It gave me the impression of bias, which was disappointing for my first visit. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this did not make me feel respected or valued as a customer. Little Miss Julia might be a closeted racist!

You walked into a place and the associates find more important their personal conversations instead of acknowledging who walks thru the door . People are no longer happy to see you walking in . It is like we as customers are an annoyance to them . I drove far to this location for one item and it took a long time for someone to even know that I was there . I guess next time I will I'll visit the online sites since I know what I want a save me the hustle of being ignored . By the way , there were only 3 customers in the store and not one other associates. Been a customer since 1994 so sad

I first started doing business with them in 1999 while I was still in HS and they were seated next to Kodiak coffee in Forest Lake... I've had phenomenal hairstylists' as well as not so great over the years. Within the last two years I've started going again more regularly since I decided to put some blonde back in my hair. Jordan is great. She has an awesome personality and she listens well. She doesn't tell you what to do or talk down to you. I highly recommend her in particular. I have had some issues over the years. They've been enough to keep me a way for a while, but somehow I end up always going back. I did however have one issue in particular that management handled well. I've been happy with the overall management and clearly they are doing something right, as there are a few faces that have been there since I started going in the 90s! I do think you will be overall happy going to La Grande Salon. They also have a cute little store within that's worth checking out.

I…read morewanted Kerastase products and someone that was well experienced in restoring and coloring hair. I called Revive and asked for that person and BOY DID I GET HER! Amanda. She is great and my hair has never looked better. I can't say enough good things about her and Kerastase. Trust her judgment. She is fun and knows her stuff. The Salon is full of the nicest people and it's a beautiful salon without being stuffy and snooty. You feel comfortable being there and almost feel bad when it's time to leave. I have paid attention to other clients, women of all ages, men and children getting their hair done. Haven't seen a bad one yet. I just am so glad I found Revive and Amanda. White Bear Lake is the most charming little suburb of Minneapolis, St. Paul - LOVE IT.
