store always seems to be out of or no longer sells what I am looking for. Even with the coupons and rewards I am now finding the same items cheaper elsewhere. Their personal line of facial cleaners and lotions are great and are at a reasonable price. I have seen a difference in my skin because of their pore reducing facial wash and lotion but I will go back to using Mac store for my make up. read more

Absolutely the worst ever!! I made my appointment walked in right on time and the stylist gave me a bad vibe like she just didn't want to be there...but I told my self I am already here....all I wanted was side swept bangs and I even showed her a picture of what I wanted and she was like okay. She still didn't have a nice attitude about it...so she cut and then let my bangs fall and as soon as she noticed how short she actually cut them she got the straightener and tried straightening them out to make them look long, but the damage was done I looked in the mirror and told myself getting mad isn't going to do anything. On Friday May 3rd 2019 I visited Ulta in Upland. I specifically went to purchase 2 Mother's day gifts for my sisters. I knew I wanted to buy them Philosophy perfume. I quickly found what I was looking for. Grabbed 2 gift sets. One was $55 the other was $56. The cashier was nice. When she told me I also get a fee tote for a $40 perfume purchase, I asked would I get 2? She politely said no, one per purchase. So I said, even if I make 2 separate purchases? So she asked her manager who was right next to her helping another customer. The manager, not so nice, said, no sorry, we are very limited to the free totes so it's one per customer. I said okay. I told my nice cashier that I only will take one perfume today. And the customer who the manager was still helping said, you know I was thinking the same thing. Seems pretty stupid. I smiled and said, I know. So I went to the Ulta in Chino, which is on my way home anyway. But it would have been great customer service if the manager in Upland would have done the right thing. I was really disappointed with your customer service, they really lacked helpful manners. My sister and I were in the store for 15mins and no one helped us. We were looking for a specific product , when I asked the sales rep she took forever also. Did not apologize or was friendly. Then when we were in line waiting along w 20 other people there was only one cashier because the other two sales rep decided to walk away and didn't even acknowledge the people in line. This has been one of the worst Ulta's I've been to. It's not nice when you walk into a store and everyone that works there seems miserable maybe they need to be retrain. I just got my hair cut and styled with Nina. She was great. I love how my hair came out. I like how she ask what you want then gives awesome suggestions for it to look more full. I have really thin hair and she recommended this product Ulta sells that covers my thinning bald spots. I bought it and it really helps. I made an appointment for hair and makeup to treat myself for the day. Needless to say, I wasted $98 for poofy frizzy hair, and a bad makeup job. My eye brows were not filled in, just glued down with gel, the eye lashes weren't completely glued down and sticking up in the corners, and there were quite a bit of little black specks all under my eyes and on my cheeks from her applying my mascara. When my liquid lipstick was applied, she got it all over the place and did not clean it up. 10/10 do NOT recommend using the salon services ever! Not to mention the appointment said 1hr 30min. It took 3 hours, making me late to the event I was attending, and embarrassed to show my face. read more

RUDE SALES ASSOCIATES. I have liked shopping at Ulta in the past, but this was a horrible experience. My 22 year old daughter (who is a successful manager in her career) and I went to Ulta for several different products. We spent over 20 minutes without any assistance while she was testing out different pressed powders to see which one she was going to buy. A sales associate finally came up and said, "You can't be applying your make-up here." in a very rude and belittling way. To which my daughter apologized and said, "you can't try the testers?" The sales associate said, "No, only for color swatches." "I'm trying to figure out which one to purchase." my daughter said. "You can ask one of us for help. I know that no one was in the area but you can come and get one of us." the sales associate said, still in a rude tone. We considered leaving and not purchasing anything but after a lot of deliberation, we decided to go ahead and get our products. After leaving, we kept talking about how upsetting the experience was and both decided we will not return to that store again. I've never written a bad review before, but this experience was undoubtedly the worst experience I've ever had at an Ulta. I contacted corporate customer service, and they took excellent care of us and were very nice and understanding on the matter. This made it obvious that Ulta has a higher level of customer service, but this location fails to reach that level. read more

Every Ulta I've been to has always been very clean and organized, and this one definitely lives up to that. The employees are always so nice and helpful, the salon is great. The only downside is that I feel like they're understaffed a lot of the time. The lines can get backed up in a blink of an eye and if you need help on the floor then you're SOL. I've always had great luck here. Pretty well stocked and clean. Sure, there were a few workers here and there, gossiping in the aisle or not looking up as I pass by (knocked off a star for that) but there are also those workers who are eager to help. I have been going here for years and noticed over the past several months service has gone downhill. They never to see to have enough people helping out on the floor. I went in for an advertised special I got in the mail. The first time they didn't have the product and the second time they didn't have it (said it was still in production?) but it was advertised in their mailer. 2 wasted trips, product placement that was mislabeled (I was looking for Stilla products and they were all placed under the Too Faced section) It also took forever to find someone to answer my question. The manager (A male) was too busy to help me because he couldn't leave the register. Told me to wait for some of the "girls" to come out. After 15 mins a "girl" comes out and starts helping someone else and then I had to wait 10 more minutes..........All to find out they didn't have the advertised product When I went to pay I gave the feedback to the Manager about the poor service I had been given on my last 2 visits and he gave me a VERY insincere apology. If he doesn't care about service to his customers, how can his employees? So sad....I was a huge fan of this place Sadly, with minimum wage going up in California in July, we are going to see more service situations like this happen in many more businesses, as they try to recover from the 20% increase they have to pay all minimum wage employees read more

After reading about all the raves on this place, I decided to go to this one which is closest to me. On one side of the store they have the basic drug store brands, like Cover Girl, Maybelline stuff like that. On the other side of the store they have Urban Decay, Smashbox, Bare Minerals, etc.. They also carry hair products, nail products, face wash, perfume, etc.. I had to use the bathroom and walked towards the back of the store where there is a mini salon. I looked around, because there weren't any signs and finally an associate came up to me and asked if I was lost. WTF? No, I'm not five years old looking for my mom, I just need to pee! The only reason I went I into this store was because I knew they carried NYX and I didn't want to drive to the VG since I live in upland. The store is a cluster fuck! The make up isle looked terrible. It was all unorganized. Couldn't find what I was looking for at all. On top of that there was an employee in the isle doing something and didn't even greet me or ask if I needed help seeing I'm trying to look and dodge all the box trash in the isle. I haven't been in this store in 2 years and it's just way smaller since they've added a ton more of displays and shelves. I felt the makeup isles were like a foot wide for walking space. This review is mainly for Garrett in the salon but I also have a few praises to sing about the rest of the store. Let's start with my haircut by Garrett. I have long, super over processed bubble gum pink hair. It's been about 6 months since I had a trim right after a chemical service and I didn't have nearly enough of the split ends taken off. Fast forward to today and I booked an appointment with Garrett who got me in his chair, asked what I wanted him to do and when I said "cut the dead, split ends off" he gave me that look like "you aren't going to like what I'm about to tell you." Basically he said I was going to have to lose a few inches (I usually only ever agree to an inch at most) if I want my hair to be in a healthy condition. He explained in detail why I would need to take so much off and all the benefits of "doing it now and being done with it". I was cringing every time he showed me how much. Long story short he definitely knows what he is talking about and I let him take the wheel, do what he said needed to be done and....OH MY GAAAWWD! It is fabulous! He takes his time and doesn't just hack off sections of hair like a lot of stylists have done to me in the past, you can really tell there is a method to his madness and that he takes pride in his work. I will be going back to see him religiously for my haircuts until I move back home to San Diego next year, I might even drive back just to have him cut my hair after that. I haven't felt "pampered" in a salon chair in a decade and I felt that way today. Garrett rocks! As for the rest of the store the displays were full and organized, clean and the staff was very attentive. Definitely puts all the other local Ultas to shame. read more

I normally go to this Ulta because it's close to my house. I've never really noticed their customer service because I always knew what I needed. The other day, however, I went in to get some advice about new foundation options. I already filled my bag with products that I needed and stood in the makeup area to wait for the sales associates to finish with their current customers. There were 3 of them. As I was waiting, a mom and daughter showed up, saw that I was waiting but swooped in on one just as she finished. Rude people can't be helped but I was upset that the sales person didn't say "she was here first." So I waited some more. 2nd sales person finished and she hid over by Clinque and then left the floor after walking by me, making eye contact but saying nothing. The first sales person then proceeded to call over the 3rd person to help her with the mom while she helped the daughter. All in all I was patient for 30+ minutes. During that time, 5 sales/store clerks walked past me, all made eye contact but no acknowledgment. I went to the front, put my bag of items down, pulled out the one that I really did need because I was out and told the cashier what happened. That was the last item I will ever buy there. I'll drive further to Sephora where I'm dodging sales people instead of being ignored. read more

I don't know what idiot tells these cashiers to greet the customers with "Hi, what was your phone number?" I mean, I know they're super eager to get everyone signed up for rewards, but it's just too aggressive of a sales tactic. It's not even grammatically correct! And I don't want to give my phone number. It's such an odd way to greet a customer. Seriously, as soon as I walk up and place my items on the counter, I don't ever hear "Hello, how are you?" So now every time I want to buy something, I have to spend a few lousy wasted minutes of my time explaining to some stranger that I don't want to give her my phone number, I don't have rewards, no I don't want a million Ulta emails sent to me, I just want to buy the items I placed on the counter. On top of this rewards issue, I really didn't appreciate having an aggressive employee (who wore more make-up than a clown) bark out at me that she had products to help my hyper-pigmentation. Garrett in the ULTA Salon is amazing!!! I came in earlier in the week and saw another stylist and didn't get what I wanted. Garrett had no problem fixing my hair and making it look amazing! Had a great 3 hours there (I have a lot of hair and lots of things needed to be done) and he even accommodated my 10 year daughter with whatever she needed! I told them exactly what I wanted and even showed pictures & they still could not get it right. When you see someone is clearly upset you don't just let it go, you try and fix it.
