Im super picky and i ask a lot of questions. Initially i dont trust people. Ive gone to businesses with good reviews and wasnt always impressed. When I needed break and transmission fluid exchanged i thought id try Ultimate. They had a better price than where I'd been going. Afterward I noticed a couple things sounded different so I went back. It took me 2 months to get back there but it didn't matter. Despite being super busy Justin drove around with me to hear the noises. My rear brakes were shot and the other noise wasnt something to worry about he said. So they did my rear brakes. They gave me an estimate and while doing the work they took the time to find me a better price on the cylinders I needed so the invoice was lower than the estimate. So I sent my mom there after she failed smog at our usual repair place. They did a manifold inspection and repaired it and did not charge for inspection. They also did not have to replace a part the previous mechanic said was needed. Then they sent her for a smog retest somewhere that is not only cheaper but retests for free (Hendsley). Also the owner Eric, is really funny. He's not trying to be, he just is. So if you're sitting in the waiting room while he's working you also may have free entertainment. If you need something fixed urgently they will do their best to take care of you right away even though they're super busy. It's good to have your mechanic be a nice guy but it's more important that they're conscientious and honest and they are. read more

I love these guys! Not knowing where to go I looked on Yelp & decided to try this place. I had had a bad car accident where by the front & back of my car had been crushed. Having little money I wanted to try to get my car running & legal again. Body work was prohibitively expensive, but I needed my left rear light replaced to be on the road again. However there was basically no car left there! None the less, these guys figured out how to put my tail light in securely. They charged me quite a bit less then I had originally been told. Plus, they fixed my windows, which weren't working, for free! A woman alone is often taken advantage of in these situations. Not only did they NOT do that, I feel like I got a great deal. The guys offered me the lowest price with the longest warranty. Win number one! This time my car abruptly broke down because a mouse chewed the wires on my fuel injector (the joys of country living). I had her towed into the shop, and they had her fixed and back on the road within 3 hours, for $85. Three weeks ago my husband's car broke down for the same reason (these rodents, I swear) and the Honda dealership charged him TWO THOUSAND AMERICAN DOLLARS for the repairs. I just got a new to me Subaru . I need a new keys and of course I had to go to the Subaru dealership. They check my car out and quoted me a price of $450 for a pads on my front brakes. This happened a couple of weeks ago, but I had an oopsie and broke my tail light. I ordered the part myself as no part shop was able to find it. I contacted several auto shops in Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa, and Eric was the only one that responded that he could replace my light. Car: 2003 VW Jetta TDi I had a great experience with Justin. (Eric is a nice guy too) I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but when it comes to A/C, I can't charge/discharge the system properly without the AC device. Justin told me what was leaking and what I could do to stop it. I fixed it myself and got the AC (AND my wife's AC) to work again. They're honest but at the end of the day they're a business. They'll tell you the best solution to fix the problem the first time. Period. They're not the cheapest shop on the block, but you get what you pay for. I will continue to return. Eric is awesome! Best experience I've ever had at a mechanic, nowhere else even comes close! Incredibly honest and very, very fast service at the shop. Took my Honda Civic to his shop after I noticed a very bad leak (more like a puddle) forming on the passeger side floor. Called a few other places in the area beforehand and heard recommendations of doing a sunroof leak test, windshield leak test, among other things. Decided to go with Eric and the guys at Ultimate Auto Care after hearing from my Dad that he had received excellent service at a very reasonable price. Dropped the car off at 8:00 a.m. the next morning, walked over to grab some breakfast and no more than 15 minutes later, received a call from Eric saying that he had fixed the problem! A clogged drain tube that he unclogged in no time. I walked back to the shop and Eric told me that there would be no charge for the service. Not even the inspection fee. What a standup guy. I tried paying him but he wouldn't take it. Offered to give him a bit of cash for lunch but again he said not to worry about it. An honest and fair mechanic is what every customer hopes for. Eric, Justin, and Nick are absolute stand-up guys, and I can not recommend this shop enough. I had been going to another (unnamed) shop in Santa Rosa, which over time started charging me more and more inflated prices, and not actually fixing my issues, causing me, when I caught the errors, to have to insist they redo the work (for which I was not charged, but this was expensive in terms of my time, and in terms of having to bring the car back many times). It's as though the other shop was giving me the exact opposite of a loyalty discount. After that other shop quoted me $350 for a spark plug change (on top of having charged me $180 to diagnose and "fix" (it was not fixed) an intermittent tail light issue), I had had enough. I don't know a lot about cars but as little as I know, I knew that was a complete ripoff. I went into Yelp and found Ultimate Auto Care. When I called, the person I spoke with (Justin) could not have been more knowledgeable about my specific vehicle model, and he immediately understood what I believed to be the root cause of TWO issues which my previous shop failed to address. I was able to bring it in the next morning, and Eric himself personally diagnosed and found what was in fact the root cause of both issues, and fixed them within a half hour. I drove away within the hour with both issues (which had plagued me for weeks) completely resolved. For a fee that absolutely astonished me in how minimal it was. It was the polar opposite of being ripped off. I could almost cry. There is no doubt in my mind that had I brought my car back in to the previous shop, they would have milked me for many hundreds of dollars for the same fix - if they even fixed the right thing (which, they did NOT because they already looked at the issue one time and charged me $180 for a non-fix). Anyhow, long story short, Ultimate Auto is my new go-to shop and I will never cross the door of the old place any more. I'd give them 10 stars if I could. read more

Booked an appointment for an oil change here a few months back, my brother was going to change my oil for me but ended up being unavailable so I needed to find a place that wouldn't charge me much for the labor, as I already had the oil and oil filter.I called the Oilstop on Cleveland Ave. and they were going to charge me $40 just for the labor and disposal fee! I found Ultimate Auto Care on Yelp and gave them a call. I was skeptical at first because the guy on the phone couldn't give me an exact price, but since he said it would only be $10-20 I booked an appointment. Came in for my appointment a couple days later and was quoted $17.50 for labor and disposal fee! Nick changed my oil and did a full inspection as well in about 30 minutes.
