6 months ago I bought a 2014 Maserati Quattroporte GTS. 10k miles. Mint condition. Sales associate Jay was a great guy, very personable and easy to work with. We were preaprooved and flew up from California. Was a little annoyed when we were told it was a sign and drive deal, and needed to furnish paperwork on the spot with being so far away from home w/having to meet flight schedules, that was annoying. We are self employed and it does take down-time to get payroll information from our accountant, but they were able to use our bank account for approval. We sent in paycheck information at a later date. They kept a spare key fob in exchange for good faith, and that was also an annoyance to get the key back in a timely manor to me. The car itself appeared to be perfect, but it starting smoking like a train the next day on the drive home. Later found out it had too much oil. That fixed the problem. But the anxiety from thinking I bought a Maserati with a hurt motor was nearly not worth the trouble. Maserati has a very sensitive engine oil level. A little too much oil and the turbos smoke like a train. 4200k miles into ownership the fuel rails failed, a $5500 fix. Not their fault, but again another annoyance. The tires that came on the car needed to be replaced, they were old and two front tires became bubbles on the side wall after 3k miles. The battery also went dead the first month. A $450 replacement. The finance department who handled my loan was a delight to sit and talk too. Be careful! He might hypnotize you! (Not kidding) He's a real fun guy. The service, atmosphere, and buying process was very pleasant. They really make you feel VIP, especially with all those beautiful exotic cars in the warehouse. I would recommend them and shop here again. Just remember. If you're buying a "used" car. It's a used car. This isn't a factory certified dealer. Chances are they don't have the mechanical depth within their dealer to really "road ready" some of the niche vehicles they sell properly. So just be understanding of this and do your homework on the vehicle your buying to know what issues you may run into, they do not offer warranty. I'd rate them a solid three star read more

I've been working with Ultimo Motors for more than a month to purchase a 2014 Audi R8 V10 plus. They were ready to ship the car to me until I insisted on some kind of assurance that the car would should up without any issues, which they were unwilling to do. All they wanted to do was keep pushing a warranty. They tried to push and push it like 7-8 times, and I found out why later (it had known issues). Eventually, the agreement was to do a pre-purchase inspection, which met both of our needs. Unfortunately, this is where the lying started. The car was taken to an Audi dealership, but not for a pre-purchase inspection. It was taken there to fix a known issue that was triggering a check engine light on the car. The issue ended up being a very costly repair (thousands), as it needed a new ECU and wiring harness. These parts needed to come from Germany and were going to take at least 3 weeks before the car was sellable. While I was waiting for the repairs to finish, I learned that the clean CarFax was actually missing an accident the car had been in that was only reported the the AutoCheck report. When I called, they acted like they didn't know about the accident. Let me be clear, dealerships that take in cars to sell know about accidents without needing CarFax or Autocheck reports - they have paint meters, and they definitely use them on $92,000 cars. So I begin to ask for some relevant information about the accident. Since the accident happened with the current owner who is consigning the car, I asked if they could obtain any repair information from the body shop and potentially photos of the accident damage for my peace of mind. At this point, I was still interested in the car, I just wanted a little more information. During the call to the dealership, when I asked about the damage, I was asked to finish paying in-full for the vehicle that was still being repaired in the shop for three more weeks. I explained that it wouldn't really make sense for me to finish paying in full for a car in full that was still being repaired. The dealership didn't like that and was upset, because they wanted that money to close out their April books. I've been bounced between the GM, the finance manager, the salesman, etc. so many times - more than I can count, and at this point, I'm sure they are just trying to find a buyer that won't realize the car was in an accident or ever needed these major repairs, rather than continue to work with a buyer that is already approved for this $92,000 purchase. When I was reading reviews, I saw so many people have problems with this dealership and I was hoping they weren't true. Let me tell you, I dodged a bullet. Avoid this dealership. Even during the test drive to the salesman let me speed. He let me really drive the car period being a young guy I felt like I was not being judged right away is typically with other dealers which I tend not to get good service at. But this place offered me good service with good communication. The general manager is extremely helpful and he was able to meet us halfway when negotiating prices for the GTR. Unfortunately I have to give a star, but they truly don't deserve it. I purchased a vehicle from Ultimo. Within an Hr and a half from walking in and putting $4,000 in Cash down I was the owner of a '12 Mercedes Benz GL450. I purchased a warranty offered to us by Dan.He informed us that it was a great Warranty and that it covered everything.(warranty was $4,634.00 from Red Shield Protection) Now I take fault in being gullible and assuming he was offering a warranty he actually knew. 4 months later I was in need to file a claim my vehicle was in need of a tow. Called the number on the brochure that was given to me for my warranty, for some reason they couldn't help me due to them not being able to find the contract in their system. I had to paid tow out of pocket. Following morning I call Dan informed him of the situation and told me he would take care of the situation. Days past the gentlemen from the shop I had my vehicle towed to called saying he hadn't heard from anyone. Called Dan let him know he told me he had asked "the rep" he had\was texting to call them and he'd have them call the shop. Another couple days later I called Red Shied to submit my receipt for the tow so they can reimburse what I paid. The ' claims specialist told me they didn't do reimbursements. AGAIN I call Ultimo a gentleman their answered and I explained the situation he cut me off and said " well file with your insurance why would you wait? thats what id do, I explained to him I had the warranty and he responded, " well man I don't know anything about the so ill just transfer you to dan". he sounded so annoyed with having me explain a situation. Completely rude. Once I talked to Dan and told him I I was brushed off he said " don't listen to him he just started". Dan informed me they would reimburse me, I call AGAIN to Red Sheild then once again they said they couldn't find my warranty information. The first three weeks of my truck sitting at a shop having nothing done to it was nothing but poor customer service from all partied involved with the exception of Mercedes Benz in Naperville,IL. at that point I Emailed Dan and ask for him to provide me the information on "the rep" he was speaking to... days passed until I got a call from Anthony ( broker who sells Red Shield Protection to Ultimo) EXPLAINED the Whole situation, said he'd be on it with some information. Within a day or two I was called by a "rep of some sort" from Red Shield and was told that my repair was denied for having rust prior to warranty purchase. Called Anthony to let him know of the denial and that more then likely I was going to cancel warranty he stated he was going to call me back and he if he can talk to someone else. !5 minutes later he calls me back and tells me that due to the situation and how everything was handled Him and Dan were going to pay for the repair themselves, I was shocked and VERY Very appreciative. He ask if I would remove a review I had let on Ultimo Motors pg for business purposes and I agreed to once everything was handled. I gave him the information of the gentleman at the shop so everything could be handled for the repair. They came to a agreement on paying for it with them there. NOW nearly a MONTH after everything happened I was told This past Friday that Dan was no longer paying for anything and neither was Anthony. My vehicle has been ready for a week and neither Dan nor Anthony informed me they had no intention on paying for it, They just ignored my text and calls. So now I am left alone to pay for whatever amount THEY AGREED ON with no thought if I have the money to do so or not. COMPLETLY saddened and disappointed in the amount of times I was lied to by a Employee at Ultimo Motors. I will be sure to spend word of this situation. No one should be treated like this. After a terrible experience trying to make a deal for a Z4M at another dealership, I was greeted one morning by an email from Autotrader. It was an automatic alert I had set for all new Z4M listings in the area. I pulled up the listing and found no information about the car, other than the make/model/VIN/etc. I cross referenced the VIN to BMW's build records and found that it was the exact color/options package that I was looking for (very rare, on an already rare car). In a rush, I called the number on the listing and spoke with a man named Ed. I asked about the car and he told me that it was in perfect condition. He said that they had just taken the car as a trade in a "few days" prior, so there were no pictures available yet. I asked if he could somehow take a few pictures and send them my way with his cell phone or something. He agreed and a few minutes later I had 5 pictures that he snapped with his iPhone in my email box. His description of the car seemed to be accurate, but of course I needed to come and check out the car in person, as well as get a pre-purchase inspection (PPI) done by a qualified mechanic. Ed agreed to have someone drop off the car within the hour at any shop within a reasonable distance. After the PPI came back clean, he had the car picked up and taken back into their climate controlled indoor showroom. As soon as I left the office I headed over to Ultimo. I arrived in the showroom and checked out the car - sure enough, it was in great condition. I went on a quick test drive and then came back and started to talk numbers with Ed. We went back and forth a tiny bit (typical negotiation stuff) but then I firmly stated the number that I felt was truly a good deal for both of us, after spending months researching pricing. He tried to get a little more from me but I think he knew my offer was fair, so he quickly accepted. He then walked me over to Rob, their finance guy. I already had financing and extended warranty set up with my credit union, and I let him know right away. I told him what the credit union was offering me, and said that if he could beat it, then I'd go with him, if not, no big deal. He was surprised with the numbers from the credit union and told me that he didn't think he'd be able to beat them (he wasn't), and I appreciated the honesty. We chatted a bit about random stuff, and he jokingly mentioned that he was thinking about buying my trade in (2011 VW GTI). After filling out some paperwork, I was ready to drive home in me new (to me) Z4M! A couple days later, I stopped by Ultimo to drop off some remaining documents from my credit union. I noticed my old GTI parked out front, with plates on it. I met up with Rob and he said that he test drove my car and liked it so much he decided to buy it! Part of me thinks that if he jumped on my car so quickly, they must have had quite a healthy margin on the deal, but that's fine considering that the deal ended up being good for me as well (they are a business after all!). After poking around on their facebook page, I found that they were being serious when they said they just got their hands on the Z4M... the guy that traded the car in did so on a Saturday (3/16) and I bought it on the next Wednesday (3/20)! So, within a few business days, a customer traded in the Z4M (presumably for a decent deal), I trade my GTI in for the Z4M, and a staff member buys my GTI. 3 happy "customers" in less than a week, all linked together somehow! To sum up this long review, I had a great experience at Ultimo. Ed, Rob, and the rest of the staff I met were all very professional and straight-shooting. They got an attractive deal done for me in an hour or two, compared to the literal weeks I spent going back and forth with another dealer for something similar. All their inventory is kept indoors in a large, brightly lit, climate controlled showroom (not typical for any other dealer I've seen). All the cars I saw in there were performance oriented, and all were in great cosmetic condition. Next time I'm in the market for a car, I'll be sure to see what Ultimo has first. But just a note to the staff: You guys all don't have to call me (and each other) "bro" in order to make the sale! :) read more

I went here because they had a specific Audi S4 I was looking for. The Carfax had nothing major on it but I noticed a few oddities, but the price seemed right. Due to the Carfax issue (being returned to Audi at the end of a lease and not becoming a certified pre-owned car), I had a feeling that something was wrong with the car and after a brief inspection for body fit/finish I found out why. Long story short, thankfully I'm not naïve or unfamiliar with Audis and body work, since I found evidence of either a traffic collision or single-vehicle collision on the rear end of the car. The typical used-car salesman tactics took over and the salesman tried to convince me that it was probably nothing serious, but it's very unusual for a car of this age/mileage to have not been accepted back by Audi after a lease return, and thankfully I found out why. The car also had a rather deep gouge in the driver's side windshield due to the wiper blade coming out of the channel and scraping against the glass every time the wipers were used. The salesman recommended I report a rock chip to insurance to have the windshield replaced.... wow. When I told him I was absolutely doing no such thing, he back pedaled and told me he meant I should just wait for a chip to happen then report it. Whatever. It's a shame, because they have a lot of nice cars here but be very skeptical of what you buy. Just question yourself as to why that car ended up here. read more

Do NOT buy your car here, especially if you decide to buy it from another state. So things went smoothly at the start and they were being incredibly responsive before I mailed my check in for my Macan Turbo. 1)They told me that the car was "showroom condition" and that it was simply perfect. Just odd that when the car was loaded on the carrier they go over the details with the person working at Ultimo motors, and the trucking sheet was marked with numerous damages on the vehicle. The car came with scratches so deep that level 1 detailing could not buff out on at least 6 different panels, which they did pay for, but did not solve the issue. I took the car to a body shop and they literally just recommended me to repaint the entire front of the car from excessive rock chips/damages. The person called Jack (person I was dealing with) then told me that they were not able to see the damages under the light in their dealership. Not dont yet, the car then had a cracked panel by the window that needs to be fully replaced, and they did agree to pay for it. 2) The car also had more miles than it did on the contract and papers which was incredibly shady. They said the car had 20500 miles and the car ended up being closer to 21000 miles instead. 3)They told me not to do anything as they will be dealing with the DMV for me to get me my registration and what not. They ended up mailing the entire thing to me to do myself after a few weeks of purchase, and they nearly screwed me over having to potentially pay the penalties for not coming into the DMV early enough to get the papers in as it is 20 days that I was allowed to drive the car in CA, not 30 days like they said as well. The customer service was probably the absolute worst I ever had, after you cash your check in they become less and less responsive as I was dealing with Jack most of the time, and he replied when he felt like it. He even that they were "swamped" with customers and apparently me being a person that just purchased a car was not important enough to get his full attention. They did very lightly try to make it up with paying me 1588 for the replacement of the cracked panel and the entire repaint of the front of the car, and also paid for the detailing. That did not solve the issue of the false mileage, the "showroom condition car", hours of figuring things out with them, and hours of my time getting the car to what was promised. Because another Panamera in Chicago downtown I was looking for was sold, then I found this Panamera 4s on Car.com so I am coming here check it out. that's terrible mistake that I have made. Firstly, Before I decided to buy the car, I asked sales man how many keys I can get, the sales man(I forgot his name) said two. After payment, he said he could not find another key and I complained to the manager Shawn about him. Shawn asked him why he said there were two keys but the key tag shows only one key for this car(It is completely deceiving customers), and he promised will do best get the key from last owner within 3-4days. 4 days later I send email to him, no reply. And I called Shawn, he said they done everything they can do but can not get another key. No compensation, no refund for $600 key. Secondly, when I driving the my new big toy back to home, I found a cracked on windshield and I also send email to this guy who sold his car to me, he never respond my email after I paid. Last thing, 1 days later, I found a damage on back of front seat, then I checked pictures on Ultimo Website, the hole was there before I bought, it's not very obvious, so I didn't notice it. but I think the dealer is responsible for telling the customer any damage on vehicle. Michael was very honest and quickly answered my questions that I had regarding a specific car. He had no hesitation providing a test drive around the area. I had my vehicle inspected through a third party mechanic and there was no problem in doing so. The car was low mileage so I didn't expect anything strange or out of the ordinary. The indoor showroom is very nice and large to browse cars that most people dream of owning. Well at Ultimo that dream becomes a reality. Saturday afternoons is the best time to go visit this place. Purchased a Porsche sight unseen. Enclosed shipping was agreed upon during the negotiation at no cost to me, then I was asked to pay for open shipping. When I finally received the car, I noted some cosmetic defects, chips on the back bumper and scratches on the rim. This car was listed as "immaculate." The car arrived with almost 1000 more miles on it than advertised and barely had enough gas in it to even make it to the gas station. I took it to the local Porsche dealership for an inspection and was quoted a list of repairs that needed to be done approximating $5500. When I purchased the car, a salesman named Frank (fbaginski@ultimomotors.com) assured me that if anything were wrong with the car that they would pay for it. I contacted him and he directed me to a GM, Jack (jack@ultimomotors.com). Needless to say I got the run around for a few weeks. Then Jack just started ignoring my emails and phone calls. The indoor showroom is a nice change to what you normally see & easy to navigate. We had a trade in & here is where they lost a star... After we traded in our car & purchased the new one- they literally cashed our check the next day. BUT didn't pay off the traded in car for 4.5 WEEKS & not until we believe they sold our old car. I definitely didn't expect that type of service from a high-end dealership like this. We had to check back with them so many times to get it taken care of which is just simply not acceptable. We were excited to have found a local high end dealership to buy our future cars from- but we now have some obvious hesitation. Of course, the goal of any customer is to find the right car, get it paid for (or financed), and get out--all as quickly as possible. Ultimo did that for me. I was skeptical because it's basically a glorified used car dealer, and there are a million of them along Ogden Avenue. But I had done my internet homework, and was greeted by Scott when I walked in. He showed me the vehicle, set up a test drive, and once I decided to buy, he didn't put any barriers in my way (funny how sometimes sales people can't take Yes for an answer, but Scott was great). And he always treated me with respect, like a normal person and not a "mark." I never felt trapped. Zero pressure, but attentive to my questions etc. The finance lady (Diane? Doris?) was professional, friendly, and got the paperwork set up in no time. From the time I walked in, to the time I was pulling off the lot in my car, was slightly over two hours. I purchased a used Jaguar from these guys and I should have heeded the warning signs from the very beginning. Although they were extremely nice guys, the car wound up being the worse most expensive car that I have ever purchased. A beautiful 2013 Jaguar XJL with very low miles on it. I purchased it in 2018 and have only put 10,000 miles on up until now (Nov. 2019). At around 9,000 miles later and less than a year after having the car, I've replaced the Super Charger on the Motor ($500 Ded.), the seals ($700), Brakes ($1400) all the way around, the Coolant Reserve tank ($400) and a Water Pump ($1200). $4000 in a one month period and that is with the Power Train warranty that I purchased. Found a vehicle that I was interested in, tried to leave a deposit but the salesman "Simon " would not take one, so I figured we were negotiating in good faith and today he told me they took a deposit on the vehicle. I purchased a 2013 Mercedes in July of 2016 from ultimo motors in Warrenville. I put a custom remote start and I spent a few thousand dollars on unanticipated needed repairs that the bumper to bumper warranty did not cover. I discovered there was an issue with the title when I visited the DMV a year later to renew my registration. DMV said my car was not in the system and they could not issue me a new registration sticker and my plate was never valid. They advised me to return to the dealership immediately and get it resolved there. I spent the next 6 months contacting Ultimo with a very little feedback on what is going on. I still have a car with no title, no registration and I can't drive it as it sits in my garage. Only after 6 months of complaining, they did give us a loaner but they also tried to up-sell us on a new car. They also offered $2500 above Carmax trade-in value. That is a low ball offer since it would not cover Tax, clear title, and fees, remote start, and especially all my time trying to research and test drive a replacement car. We now have a lawyer trying to sort this out and he quickly discovered the paperwork that they knew the title was not cleared when we bought it. read more

I just bought a low mile 2013 Nissan GT-R from these guys and the experience was absolutely fantastic start to finish. This was my first purchase through Ultimo but it definitely won't be my last. I dealt with Michael J and Thijs for the most part but the entire staff was great. These guys are all honest, stand by their word and went above and beyond to make sure I was 100% satisfied. I live in Laguna Beach California. For some reason yelp says I live in Las Vegas. I think that's because I signed up for yelp when I was in Las Vegas looking for an Italian restaurant. Anyway, I saw the 911 turbo S of my dreams on the Ultimo Motors website. I called Ultimo Motors and spoke to Larry Lacosta about the car. He was very transparent and told me that there were a few small issues with the carbon fiber interior trim. He worked with me on getting multiple prepurchase inspections. The prepurchase inspections revealed some very minor issues with the car, and Larry dealt with every single minor issue and concern that I had. He kept in constant communication with me via email and text message, and was very understanding when my work schedule precluded calls for a number of days. The bottom line is, it took me a month to pull the trigger to buy this car. Larry never pushed me, never tried to give me the hard sell and let the car sell itself. I have never had such a hassle free car buying experience even though I was thousands of miles away from the dealer. Buying this car from Larry, was easier than buying a car from Porsche of Newport Beach a mere 10 minutes from my house. Plus, Larry is not a douche. Larry was not satisfied until the car was in my hands and I had driven it and I was happy with it. This car is everything Larry said that it was and more. Do not let distance from this dealer stop you from buying a car from them. I will be looking for a Cayman GT4 to track in the fairly near future. I will be buying it from Larry. read more

I found Thee 2008 Mercedes E350 that I have been searching for for some time now. Black on Black...Pano roof...and hella clean...drove all the way from Bmore...13 hour drive for my car!!! Scott made the trade extremely easy and went above and beyond. He was very honest. Can not recommend Ultimo in Warrenville highly enough. Best experience ever buying a car. I had spec'ed a particular 2008 Porsche 911 4S and made an appointment to drive the car. Larry had my car and a comparable car for comparison for me to check out, cleaned and ready to go. Bonus that I could take my time looking at the cars inside their heated showroom on a cold Chicago day. My car had not gone through their standard independent evaluation yet because it had just come in, but they knew it needed clutch work and were straightforward about their concerns. We agreed on a price, contingent on my being satisfied with the clutch and independent inspection, and even though it turned out that the car needed a bit more work to make it road ready, Ultimo never blinked and stuck to the agreed price. The car is more than I'd hoped for. Immaculate condition and truly road ready with the peace-of-mind insurance of the independent inspection. If anything, even better than how it was represented online. The haggling over price was kept to a civilized minimum, as is fitting given these cars have a fairly narrow and established market price. I felt like I received a very fair deal and was treated with respect and professionalism at all times. When I picked up the car the next day it was cleaned (again) and the entire staff at Ultimo from Larry, to the manager Scott, to the guys who were cleaning and maintaining the cars, were friendly, professional, and helpful. Such a contrast to a shall-not-be-named Porsche dealer who seem surprised when I showed up at the agreed upon time and had to jump the filthy and ill-maintained car I'd make an appointment to see that was clearly not truthfully advertised. Nail in the coffin, they did the typical slimy and disrespectful number on me when I asked questions, as if surprised I had a clue about what I was intending to purchase. Going from them to Ultimo was like going from hell to heaven. Would definitely use Ultimo again and recommend them to anyone I knew who was looking for a luxury or super car. Really have nothing bad to say about these guys. They are straight-forward and up front with you. I didn't get any of that dealership two stepping or any other such nonsense.
