Came for a weekday lunch, 3 of us and got seated right away no problem. Love the special options on the menu, so many interesting things to try! The koong karee (prawn curry) and har mok seafood were my favorite. Special mention for the khao soi too! Big portions and took home enough for another meal. Prices are a little higher than the usual Thai joint but it's worth it.

She was annoyed with the questions we inquired about the menu, especially so with the curry. In one instance, when we asked about recommendations beyond the Massaman short rib (as we thought it was too large and expensive) and green curry, mainly inquiring between the yellow and red curry, the lady responded by saying she already told us the green curry was good. Otherwise, the food was still delicious. The crab omelet was our winner. The portions are filling. Unfortunately just didn't have the best experience and having visited this place last year I also had a similar (though more positive) service experience.

The interior has that classic, old-school Asian restaurant vibe, almost bordering on a tiki bar feel. I'd heard about Genghix from locals for a long time, and now I understand the appeal. We started with the chicken lettuce cups and seared butterfish--both were excellent, and our 11-year-old especially loved the lettuce cups. For entrées, we ordered seafood Pad Thai, chicken fried rice, honey walnut prawns, Mongolian chicken, and steamed rice. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and easily held its own against some of our go-to spots. We had plenty of leftovers and they tasted great for lunch the next day. Overall, it was a really enjoyable meal, and we're already planning to go back and explore more of the menu. It's extensive and can feel a bit overwhelming, but if you're in the mood for Japanese, Chinese, Thai, or Vietnamese cuisine, you'll definitely find something that hits the spot.

Parking is easy since it is inside of a plaza. The vibes are chill and the workers were quick and efficient. Everything was decently good, but we just enjoyed the overall ambience over some yum snacks and good drinks. They were also playing old kpop music which was a plus! We will definitely be back!

The frustration in driving in a circle. The ambiance of the restaurant is basically a Hong Kong Cafe style. There are two areas catering small parties to big parties. The lighting is terrible though, the florescent lighting is just not for me. The food here is pretty good. They have a huge selection. Hayward doesn't have a lot of Asian catering restaurants that are cheap eats. Yeah, they opened a new banquet, but not a lot of fast, cheap foods. 1. Pork Congee with Thousand Year Old Egg - Typically very flavorful. I like to come grab a bowl when I'm not feeling well to cook. 2. Honey Walnut Shrimp - How can you go wrong? Such a western staple. 3. Pork Chow Fun - Large portion, reasonably priced, tasty enough. 4. Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet - Surprisingly one of my favorite things on the menu. Sharable portions, enough for maybe 2-4 people. 5. Salt & Pepper Prawns - Typically I would say standard, but I don't believe I enjoyed the prawns as much. 6. Mongolian Beef - Standard, soft, best with rice. 7. Salt & Pepper Pork Chops - I could live without this. 8. Combo Pan Fried Noodles - I love me a crispy noodle with gravy I can pour over because it leaves a good texture. 9. Chicken Fried Rice - Standard, sharable 10. Beef Brisket Noodle Soup - Tasty, boyfriend's favorite. Hate that adding wonton is literally $1 per piece and it's so tiny. 11. HK Milk Tea - Reasonable, but not very flavorful.. 12. Lemon Tea - Decent, probably our go to drink 13. Assam Milk Tea with Cheese Foam - Not worth it. The service is pretty standard, limited due to language barrier at times.

Don't expect tons of seating, and it might not be ideal for a huge group, but there's plenty of parking and the service is excellent. Friendly, quick, and on point. Now let's talk food. Popcorn Chicken - Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly salty. Dangerous in the best way. I could've ordered a second round and called it a day. Won Ton Soup - Different from the usual won ton soup I've had. The broth had a slightly creamy vibe, and it was loaded with dumplings and chicken. Not my favorite dish of the night, but still solid. Hawaiian Platter (three meats + mac salad) - The meats were tender and flavorful, and that mac salad? Delish. Simple, comforting, done right. Kimchi Beef Sizzling Rice Plate (with fried egg + garlic butter) - Ohhhhh the garlic butter!!! This was the MVP. Came out sizzling hot, smelled amazing, and absolutely popped with flavor. Hearty, bold, and just flat-out delicious. Total home run. Bottom line: Great service. Sizzling plates. Full belly. Happy customer. Do yourself a favor -- swing by and support this local spot.
