During my visit, I witnessed an incident that was nothing short of disgraceful. A staff member (bald, bearded) screamed at a senior patron, for "being difficult", and forced him to checkout on the opposite side of the store because he wasn't paying fast enough. I was willing to look past the attitude you showed my family and I, but to verbally abuse, and subject a senior citizen to treatment of that nature was nothing short of cowardly, disgusting and has compelled me to write this review. Not only did you interrupt my family's dining experience with your outburst, but several other tables filled of patrons turned to witness your temper tantrum. This was the training standard you set for your new hire on her first day working at your establishment? You should be ashamed. Such treatment of any customer, let alone an elderly individual, is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the restaurant's management and training standards. This incident has left a lasting negative impression, and I am thoroughly disappointed by the lack of basic decency shown. I urge potential customers to think twice before dining here. There are plenty of other establishments where respect and customer service are prioritized. This kind of behavior should never be tolerated, and Umberto's needs to address this issue immediately. I am writing a review about their new VEGAN menu! So exciting foe those vegans or lactose intolerant people! A whole vegan menu with dairy free cheese! The vegan pizza was excellent. The Buffalo cauliflower was very spicy, so just make sure you like it that way. The meatless meatballs were good, but not amazing, unfortunately. Next time will get the vegan eggplant parm. Was on Manetto Hill road in plainview yesterday and I want to stop and order something for dinner. I pulled into a shopping area and saw Umberto's. Alway enjoying the one in wantagh, I stopped in to check it out. A tall pleasant young man gave me the menu. I asked if it was the same as the other location in Wantagh . He said mostly with a few changes. I ordered shrimp Oreganonada 6 shrimp and a delicious light garlic flavored sauce. After returning from New Jersey, we drove ~2+ hours back to my SIL's house on Long Island. Since my SIL had a medical procedure done that morning, husband and I decided to go out to eat. SIL suggested this place though she has never been there. It's in a nice strip mall. They have a counter where you can order pizza by the slice or a whole pie. There are tables if you want to eat in, which we did. We ordered the fried calamari for appetizers. It was very good. Mainly rings and tentacles. Nicely deep fried and not greasy. I ordered the prawn parmagiana which was breaded and covered in tomato sauce and cheese. Husband had chicken francese, white wine, lemon and butter sauce. The entrees were ok. More like your typical Italian/American style food. We did order a pizza to go also (so we could snack on it for the next 2 days), Pazzo pizza with sausage, roasted peppers and olives. I liked the pizza very much. The crust is thicker though which I'm ok with. The servings of all the dishes were quite large. The wait person was very nice and attentive. Second time coming here & I remember it being MUCH better. We came out of our way to swing in here because we remembered the pizza being very good and after reading some yelps it seemed to confirm that. But it was a slight letdown this time around. Seemed to have less options than I remember, the buffalo chicken slice was kind of small, the blue cheese made me nauseous, & it was pricy. I also got one of the vegetable pinwheels (mozzarella/broccoli/spinach) which was alright but it was cold. I couldn't easily asked them to heat it up more but just didn't want to go through the trouble since I was starving. I am gonna keep my three star rating. Went for dinner tonight with my mom. Same thing happened again. Cold bread and frozen butter. I was in the mood for sausage and peppers. It wasn't on the menu as a platter...only with pasta or a hero. I asked if it could be made on a platter. It was...but I feel I got basically a plate of sauce with peppers. I didn't get much sausage at all. My meal was also lukewarm at best. My mom ordered pasta with sausage and added mozzarella cheese to it. She enjoyed her dish. She seemed to have a lot more sausage than me in her dish. Her dish was steaming hot throughout our entire dinner. We were sat close to the kitchen. Every time the kitchen door opened we were able to see in, and we saw the chef and food prep employees on their phone, (texting and talking)...so their dirty fingers touch their phone and then possibly touch my food. YUCK! There aren't a lot of tables here, so the waitress (there's only one) stands around and just stares at you while you eat..it's very uncomfortable. read more

So I work down the block from here and basically live off of this slice right here. It is so perfect. It's basically a whole meal. The chicken and the veggies on it are always done right and I will never leave any piece of crust left by the time I finish. If you don't use the Parmesan, pepper flakes, dried oregano and the garlic powder than what are you even doing with yourself. Not that it always needs it, but everything goes perfectly with this slice right here. I called to tell them what happened and they passed me around from person to person. They gave me to a manger who asked me if I was holding on to the bag properly. I was ! One hand on the top , one on the bottom. The food ripped through the back. The manager asked me what I thought was fair. He then told me would do anything for any reason . When the food finally came my salad was missing, I had to run out to the driver and luckily he didn't drive away and still had the salad. I have been to this umbertos before covid and everything was fine. I was there 2 weeks ago, and it was absolutely awful. There was no waitress service, you ordered your food, and they called you when ready. We went up to get our food, one bite of the Ricotta eggplant pizza and a bite of the sausage roll, it was iced cold. The worker behind the counter gave us a dirty look because we interrupted his conversation. He took the food and gave it back 2 minutes later. While still conversing with his friend. The food was still cold and tasted like it had been sitting around, we threw it in the garbage and left. I will never patronize this establishment again, I wish I could give 0 stars! read more

BEST GRANDMA PIZZA. EVER So So good. I really love my pizza. It one of my favorite things. Saying that, grandma pizza from Umberto's is at the top of my list. Very similar to sicilian pizza but with a thinner crust. We ordered a regular grandma style pie and it fed the 4 of us very well! The pie comes with 12 squares of cheesy goodness! So worth it for the price you pay. Umberto's does it right, the pizza is nice and crisp with the perfect ratio of cheese and sauce. Thankgod i dont live close to Umberto's because i would be tempted to order from them all the time. This new location is also very nice, the staff is super friendly and make you feel welcome. I prefer this location to the one in New hyde park, there is much more parking and the restuarant is nice and new.
