I have used Umbrella Movers for 3 separate moves - we moved again last week and had the same guys from 3 years ago. They were on time, moved quick and cared for our belongings - couldn't ask for an easier move; from scheduling to payment, we didn't have one complaint. Hired 3 guys, they took the absolute max time of 5-6 hours of course. Tip: when hiring movers never get the optional extra personnel as they will take the same time regardless, or at least this company did. If you offer somebody a third man, and the time slot is the same either way, shouldn't things get done at least a little faster when you have an extra guy? It just doesn't make sense. I could have hired 2 people for the same job and they would have had to do it in the same time either way. That was my mistake and I should have seen it coming. It's possible like many other similar companies they have a ton of fake positive reviews. I can't confirm this but it seems likely. They came unprepared which was shocking. They didn't bring packing materials such as boxes even though I specifically requested that they bring them and it was confirmed over the phone. If I hadn't packed almost everything myself I'm not sure what they would done. Probably just charge me and leave? My entire case of 1.5L Fiji waters disappeared. I know the guy from the crew took them. I had offered one and he took the entire case without asking. They broke my art as well as several other things. I was charged until 5pm even though they arrived 15-30 minutes late and left at 4:05pm. The reason for overcharging was to drop an item off next door so it could be disposed. Doubt it took them 55 minutes to do this. These guys really were going for the absolute max $ and the least effort. Can't blame them I guess. At the end one of the guys came back and harassed me for tips. I told him I didn't think they deserved one given all the above. He continued to press very aggressively until I closed the door. In the end I paid over $840 for a move into a medium sized FURNISHED UNIT. Thought since their price was on the higher end I would get better service but this was not the case unfortunately. Set your expectations very low if you're going to ignore this review and book them anyways. I'm not sure why these companies think they can get away with this stuff, in an age where Yelp exists. read more

The movers don't deserve a bad review, it's the "owners" the mom and daughter duo that play games with surprise "fees" and "charges", yet they don't hesitate to disappear into thin air when they have a mistake on their end, or owe a customer a resolution. Excellent service! If you are looking for movers don't even bother calling anyone else because this company is exceptional. I recently purchased a home and a week before I had to be out of my old house I ended up with the worst flu of my life and then a terrible cold right after. Let me tell you there are a TON of company's here in Las Vegas that want to charge ridiculous prices with lots of hidden fees on top of it all. No hassle, no hidden fees, and if you pay with cash or check they even give you a discount on labor! Every dollar helps when you are moving so this was a huge incentive for me. Paul and J showed up right on time 8am sharp and got to work. These guys were truly amazing and treated ALL my household items with care and respect. My new home had a very very tight corner squeeze on the stairs and these guys managed to haul everything up no problem. Before signing my final paper work and inspecting the house for any damages I was honestly shocked that there was not one single scratch, ding, dent on anything in the house. This was the first time I have ever moved where not one items was been broken or a wall was not ran into on accident. AMAZING! Hiring movers was the best decision and took off so much of the stress. I've used Umbrella two previous times, however the third was not the charm. They were hired to fill a pod for shipment across the country. Boxes were already packed, they needed to wrap the furniture. Although the pod is scheduled to be in storage for a few months, I needed access for a few items. And that's when I saw that most of the furniture was NOT, in fact, wrapped. The blankets were placed on the pieces. Leather couch cushions were jammed into the ceiling to hold items in place, with no covering. Glass shelving was placed inside a cabinet, unwrapped. And many, many other problems that I could see. Not sure what I'm going to be in for when I can actually get into the back of the unit. I contacted them but, surprise, no reply. Super disappointing. read more

With the COVID situation, the crew showed up with masks on and plenty of hand sanitizer. Tony provided an accurate estimate for the move from Vegas to Denver and showed up with plenty of help and blankets to protect all our valuables. It took 2.5 hrs to pack a 3bed/2bathroom house and garage. The crew worked quick and cautiously. They packed the truck and met us in Denver 2 days later. We unpacked the truck at a storage unit and apartment. Tony and Sean carried the stuff up to the second floor and placed them in the apartment without incident. Short version: The movers we used today were very professional & efficient. We would recommend them & would use them again. Long version: It all started with an email to umbrellamovers@gmail.com for a price quote. I received an immediate response from Corrine based on my description of our household goods. Here is part of her email: "We would suggest a 3 man crew and estimate 3-5 hours. Our rates with our truck is $165/hr for 3 men, with a 2-hr minimum. Thereafter, we bill in 15-min increments. We also have a one-time Travel & Equipment fee of $55, which covers travel time to your door, dollies, shrink wrap, rope, and furniture pads." Corrine followed up with a phone call and a request for an inventory list and from/to addresses. After receiving my exact inventory list, she lowered the estimated time that the crew would need to 2-3 hours. We packed everything up ourselves. Our friendly & respectful crew (Jay, Zeno, & Anthony) loaded & unloaded within 2 hours. Very quick & efficient. Zero damage to our houses. Zero damage to our things. Granted - we are a military family and don't own that much stuff. It's enough to fill a 3 bedroom house to give you an idea. No appliances. But we had commercial grade treadmill & elliptical machine. With our 10% military discount, our grand total came to $358. Not bad at all considering it would have taken us so much longer to do it on our own. The reason I removed one star was the hidden fee. When I called around fo compare pricing, umbrella movers stood out as the rate was $120 per hour, while other places running at $160-$180 per hour. There are 5% labor fee, $30 per hour for truck rental fee, and another fee that I forgot the name off. I had them for fours hours and paid $517 plus tip. Don't get me wrong. That's still a great price for all the hard work the men did. I just didn't like it that I didn't expect the amount and did not have enough cash with me to pay them. Other than that, the whole process was simple and sufficient. I called on Friday and was able to set up an appointment for the following Thursday. Two men show up with a giant truck on time. We sign some paper work, and they started moving right away. Nothing, from furnitures to the walls, was damaged. The took down my king bed and reassembled it at my new place. Moved a king bed, three chests, two TV stand, a bike, a washer, a dryer, some shelvings, and boxes in 4 hours. Very sufficient. I would hire this company again in the future. read more

Tony and Mark were awesome. Very friendly but didn't over due it. They showed up with their own Umbrella moving truck (which I didn't know was a thing). Last time I used Umbrella, I don't recall this being an option and have always rented my own Uhaul. Between my family and I, we have used Umbrella at least seven (7) times. FYI - if you use the Umbrella truck, it's an additional $30/hour, but Tony said we could use my Uhaul instead and not be charged the extra $30/hour. I thought that was very considerate, but as it turned out, my truck wasn't big enough, and the additional trips would have upped the cost. Corrine is very pleasant to deal with as well, but I would have appreciated having a discussion about using the Umbrella moving truck vs. a Uhaul. read more

We hired a three man crew for a 5-7 hour job. After only having a week to prepare for our move. These guys were really efficient, quick, and organized. They really took good care of our items. By far the best money I have ever spent! KUDOS to Tony & Myrone for doing a fantastic job with my move. They carefully wrapped my furniture and provided extra tape when needed to strengthen the boxes. Tony & Myrone arrived promptly at 8am on a Sunday morning. I had one eye open dreading the move but they made it a smooth transition. Both of them had an upbeat attitude and were ready to work! Umbrella moved me and my family 11/2016. This is a family-owned/operated, well-run company. They are organized, they show up on time and they are careful with your things. I had two separate crews (one for packing, another for moving the next day). The move was complicated for many reasons, including the fact that half was going to storage and the other half to the new condo. Umbrella executed the move perfectly. When I had an emergency in the middle of moving, they worked-out a solution for me. The movers were professional and they worked hard. It was clear from the start that everyone was a team and there were no slackers. It was impressive to watch the teamwork among the movers, and they were personable and kept me informed throughout the day. After reading reviews of several companies here in Vegas, I decided to go with Umbrella Movers and I am so thankful I did. They are the best! My truck and drivers showed up as scheduled at exactly 8 am and they quickly got to work. They put shrink rap around all of my dressers, hutch, night stands and desks. They used blankets for things like the tv. They worked hard, fast and were extremely careful with everything. When we got to my new house, they put everything where I wanted and put all beds and tables back together. I don't recommend moving, but if you are, use Umbrella Movers. BEWARE! I can only speak for my own experience which was EXTREMELY disappointing. Umbrella movers damaged our $6,300 upright piano and are only offering $250 to repair it. They did not send a piano repair person out to assess the damage. They guessed it weighs about 250 pounds and are offering $250 as compensation for the damage they didn't even look at, (other than in photos I sent to them). We are paying $100 out of our pocket for a repair estimate tomorrow. I'm sure the damage will add up to a great deal more than $250. I'll update the Yelp readers tomorrow when I have the true repair estimate. UPDATE: The professional estimate we received today was for $3,200 for the damaged casing plus shipping and labor. I will send the estimate to Umbrella movers and their insurance company and see if they will assist. Their website states "PIANOS: We have the equipment and experience to move your piano: $50 for uprights; $250 for baby grands. We regret that we don't move grand pianos, and suggest you contact a professional piano mover." I, personally, would NEVER recommend they move ANY piano. CONTACT A PROFESSIONAL PIANO MOVER. There is EXTENSIVE damage to both our piano and the dining room table. Their website also states, "We guarantee an experienced, clean-cut, honest, and hard-working crew to move your valuable possessions with care and precision. We are fully licensed and insured to provide you with complete peace of mind. Our great team of Las Vegas movers are trained professionals who can pack a truck tight and right to get you on your way as quickly as possible whether it's across town or across country." Care and precision? NO. They really don't seem to care at all. Experienced? NOT WITH PIANOS. Peace of mind? NOPE, just frustration. Trained? NOT WITH PIANOS. FYI, it also took a lot longer than estimated to do the move. They did not use blankets or pads for the piano, just shrink wrap. The wooden frame of the piano is cracked, the keys get stuck because the wood underneath the keyboard is broken and the roll top is damaged and doesn't open properly. We paid the extra $50 as required, hired the 3 movers as required, put our faith and trust in the reviews and the referrals, but it was a mistake. We are EXTREMELY disappointed. It took 3 weeks for the insurance adjuster to respond. (he said he was on vacation) and the amount they are offering is not even going to come close to repairing our piano. In small print, they state they might pay 60 cents per pound for what ever they damage. We also asked them to remove the dining table legs prior to moving it, which they did not do, and our dining table leg was damaged in the move. What I have learned is that after they deliver the items, don't let them rush you into signing that it has all arrived in good condition. Take your time to carefully go over each and every item. Even if you do find damage, it is likely they will only offer 60 cents per pound no matter what the value of the item is, so... I will never use them again and I will never recommend them to anyone. If I could give them a negative number rather than a 1, that would be my review. This is the first time I have ever done a Yelp review, but I felt compelled to warn others. It is a shame, because business owners in general should know that a happy customer tells 10 people and an unhappy customer tells 100. They have insurance, so it would make sense that they would want to make this right and get future referrals. Apparently they really don't care about doing the right thing by their customers and they moved me to create a Yelp account and give my first ever Yelp review. I saw that another reviewer stated the owner came out and quoted the job. I have yet to hear from the owner. read more

Off the truck, the movers smelled like cannabis. I get it's legal here but should you smell like that before a job? I don't know if management condones this kind of behavior but I can't imagine they don't smell it. So I have to assume they condone that behavior from their employees. I'm assuming, as a result, they managed to damage my floors and door. It's strange though, once you submit a damage complaint how they will never talk to you by phone and do everything by email. I'm assuming they know the legal business and don't want anything that isn't documented for their own legal protection. I'd also assume they have been through it enough that they know this is the safest route to protect themselves. Any ways, they were nice enough to repair the door. It wasn't the best repair job but at least they did it. With the floors, they strung me along for 2 or 3 weeks. They kept telling me they were looking into getting someone to fix it. After some time, they email me to tell me they aren't fixing it because the contract states that I didn't approve floor insurance. They also insisted that it would cost more then the cost per pound of the materials. They insisted that they explicitly tell you about floor insurance. I don't recall ever being told anything about that. I don't know, if you send out possibly high employees do you really think they are going to do the best job and make the best decisions? Honestly I don't even think they took photos of the damage like they said they did, given I had to send photos of the damage to their office. read more

By far the best money I have ever spent! There is nothing more I hate than moving, yet I do it year after year and say that I will get movers the next time, but never did, until now! And I will keep using Umbrella movers for all of my moves from now on! They were within the estimate and did not get a scratch on my furniture or on my walls. They packed up all my furniture nicely and padded and wrapped everything. Everything was tied up in the moving truck so that nothing moved while on the road. They noticed that the legs of a fragile jewelry case were wobbly and tightened the bolts for me. I can't say enough about these guys. After a 2400 mile cross country road trip, these guys unloaded our truck and helped us put furniture together in 2 hours. They were fast, fun and very helpful. They also spoke highly of their bosses, who are a mother and daughter, and also owners of the company. You could tell this family-owned business took the time to get to know their employees. I'm giving them 2 stars for two reasons. We ordered 3 movers and were 2 sent instead. They were upfront to us about this issue when they arrived which I appreciated. They also gave us an instant discount because not enough movers were provided. The issue we had is that the mover quoted the wrong discounted price by $150. We believe the mover misspoke, but a very costly quote for us. Second time using Umbrella, and another great experience. A three-man crew of Paul, Anthony and Juan moved us from our three bedroom house to a four bedroom house. We were quoted that the move would take 3-5 hours, and the move took exactly three hours. Any items that needed it were wrapped in plastic, and they took appropriate care. We were worried about getting the carpets dirty at our new house, and the movers put down runners on the stairs and upstairs carpet while moving. We were also concerned about our ping pong table being damaged, but they wrapped it, padded it, and tied it to the wall of the moving truck like the other items and it arrived at the new house in perfect condition. Paul, Anthony and Juan were professional and remained extremely positive, even when I had to break the news that our huge heavy couch was going to the second floor at the new house. Finally, they're good at fitting items in, but make sure you rent a truck big enough to do your move in one trip, since you're paying by the hour. I was looking for a moving company the day before the move out, and I didn't have high expectations because of such a short notice. Surprisingly, I couldn't have asked for better movers. Shawn and Tony were so understanding about my needs as a customer, as I was not packed at all, and they were so friendly and swift, that I felt like a part of a family. They went above and beyond to ensure that I didn't have to overpay, and they helped me with all of the packing. The owner of the company is so sweet and understanding, exactly what you would expect from a small business, but sadly don't see very often anymore.
