Delicious. Divine. Definitely go! I waddled by in critical condition! Hungry! thirsty! In desperation need of nourishment! No dissapointments here. We actually went next door and were directed to Umbrella proper. Bartender greeted us promptly and warmly. And was super super helpful in drink selection! (Yall gotta try the gin fennel miso drink! It his creation, and it's stunning!) Anyway the space is beautiful! Both indoors and out! We had a seat on the gorgeous patio! Tacos came promptly and DAMN were they good! We had the al pastor and the carne asada...then promptly ordered more. They are a little expensive for a single taco and only have one tortilla per taco, but these are delightful! The smash burger was also so solid, I had to order another one!! Ten outta ten stars!!

I had come to the bar next door and saw Umbrella Taco so added it on my list to try ever since. The pictures looked so promising. We came here on a Saturday night and it was busy. Service was very fast and I love how it feels like a casual taco stand inside. You can even see the food be made fresh to order. I'm going to address the elephant in the room first. At $6 a taco is very steep, I know but it's delicious! The asada taco feels very authentic with handmade corn tortillas and some juicy tender asada. Welcome to West Hollywood with those prices! We also got a dorado (potato taco) and although it was good I wouldn't get it again as there were other options I would want to try. The esquites (Mexican street corn salad) were amazing though and a good sharing portion as well. They use kewpie mayo and it does make a huge difference. With three tacos and a side of esquites my heart and stomach were content.

Absolutely delicious! Came here last minute looking for a burrito and some fish tacos while we were staying in West Hollywood. Wasn't expecting anything crazy but it was close by and was VERY IMPRESSED! Their fish tacos and carne asada burrito were definitely something to write home about service was super quick and the inside looks like a classic taqueria with bar seating. If you're in the area and looking for some great Mexican food I would give it a try.

Slightly disappointed in myself for not having found this Taco spot until after living near West Hollywood for over 4 years. As a pescatarian, this place is a must try, and a must-revisit! I ordered 5 tacos and did not feel like I overdid anything (even though I left full!) I had one [Fried] Fish, one Shrimp, one Dorado, and two Jackfruit Mole tacos. Can you tell which was my favorite? The Jackfruit Mole tacos were so delicious. It had the perfect amount of sweetness, and the jackfruit was just a great finishing touch. I loved the flavors of the Shrimp tacos, and while the Fish taco wasn't the best I've had, it was still done really well! And they had a huge piece of fish as well! While the Dorado was still good (the only hardshell taco), it was a little too much potato for me and I know that when I come back, I'll just order 3 Jackfruit Mole tacos. If you're just here for tacos (or burritos...which my partner mentioned was excellent for an Al Pastor burrito), you'll notice there isn't too many spots in the small TaCO restaurant. There are a few seats outside in the front, and stools at the bar inside. But the main restaurant, Umbrella (which shares the same exact kitchen), is a great place if you want more food! Food came out fast, the folks who worked there are super friendly as well! I'd recommend coming a bit early to find street parking and grab a seat!

I loved my experience here. It's adjacent to a sit down restaurant that I think is under the same name. Came to this one for the more casual quick bite feel. I love that they had so many vegetarian options that actually taste great. I opted for three tacos; jackfruit mole, veggie and shrimp. I inhaled them. So good. The service was friendly as well. I wish I lived closer - but Next time I'm in the area, I'll def drop by to grab a plate.

Wow food 5/5 say less. Carne asada is so tender but a bit salty, shrimp is so tender, fries so well seasoned. Guacamole is SO GOOD. Service 5/5

The food here is GREAT. I stopped in for a quick bite, it was empty inside but the food was amazing. The service was great as the food came out in like 5 mins but was made fresh. The inside of the place is super nice and cozy as well. Strongly recommend. I will def be back to try more stuff.

A quick tip: Umbrella Taco is sisters/neighboring with Melrose Umbrella Co. next door and albeit they overlap some things from their menu, don't get it wrong: come directly to this taco spot instead if you want the true and authentic best taco experience! This is a local gem of a spot! My boyfriend discovered umbrella taco a few years back, and this has become our favorite stop for quality tacos ever since! You seriously can't go wrong when coming here and ordering food, from the hospitality to the flavors within the tacos, you will not be disappointed! We wanted to give a special shout out to Juan and the staff for always being so hospitable and treating us so well every time we come in here! We have tried a variety of tacos, from Carne Asada to El Pastor to the cauliflower tacos, but by far the Al Pastor is the agreed-upon favorite! The flavors are an amazing balance of sweet and savory, and when paired with the spicy salsa, it makes her an epic dinner! But honestly, every single taco is so good. It's really hard to pick a top favorite! The carne asada is cooked really well and the cauliflower is fried in this really nicely tangy buffalo sauce and topped with a contrasting slaw which really highlights the palette well. We also really love the quesadillas, which are served in very large and generous portions. Our particular favorite is the chicken, which is stuffed with cheese and meat (yum)! My boyfriend, and I also love to pair our meal with one of the frozen slushies-- our favorite is the piña colada, which is made quite spirit-forward with rum if that's your kind of thing! But the margarita is also extremely refreshing and delicious! Honestly this place will continue to be one of our all time favorites and we're honored to be regulars here!

I've been going to Umbrella Tacos for a few years. They never disappoint. Their food is really good. I've tried every taco option on the menu. My favorites are al pastor and carne asada which is grass fed!

Bag I was given my order in

Just moved nearby and was excited to try the food. I attempted to call my order in and nobody picked up the phone after 4 times calling. Went in person to order and it was a mess. Walking in it looks filthy. Most of the guys working there have filthy aprons and there is food all over the floor behind the counter. A person, I later found out was the manager, came up to the counter and was typing on his cell phone as he asked me what I wanted. I mentioned that I tried to call in the order and he mumbled something about the phone not working, He didn't look up and continued to type on his phone so I thought maybe he's putting the order in his phone? Nope. He asked me for the order again and didn't offer a receipt. The food came in a bag that was also dirty and stained with food. Mind you, the tacos are miniature and are $6 a pop. 3 tacos $18 and terrible service and atmosphere. To top it off I got indigestion.

Was planning to sit down at Melrose Umbrella, but saw this spot right next door and food smelled delicious. Walked in and bunch of guys making some good amazing food! Small fast-casual place with limited table sitting. Seems like part of Melrose Umbrella. I ordered Al Pastor, Shrimp, and Fried Fish Taco. All three of them were absolutely delicious. Al pastor had a lot of flavors and had right crunch to it. Shrimps were full of flavors and juicy. Fresh fish was perfectly fried and had amazing perfect crunch to it. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite.

I came into here on Melrose and it's pretty loud and they have a lot of cute decor. They don't have much seating except bar seating. Their tacos be overpriced as located on Melrose would be expected. You can get some street tacos for cheaper and more authentic. They were so stingy with the salsa that I got with my chips. I got chips and only I little teaspoon of salsa in the cup. It almost looked empty and I got all these chips. At least give me the salsa that I paid for. Do not recommend coming here for salsa and chips at least.

For tacos, I tried the shrimp, birria, and asada tacos. The shrimp tacos were my favorite! The tacos are flavorful, the stewed meats hit the spot, and somehow everything tastes even better when you're debating whether to go home or order one more drink.
