I've been coming here for a few years now. Anytime I do a "staycation" in this area, this is one of my favorite spots to go to for tea. They have toppings other tea spots don't have and it's not hey tea fragrant level but still pretty darn good. Plus, I always get their surprise cups (Millbrae used to have nice ones like this but they've downgraded and just not as nice of Ume location). Cheese topping ok (too thick imho) but parents love the oat burst sticky rice yogurt (much more than hey yogurt which just opened in San Mateo) and I love the mochi and jelly toppings *-* My mom had such a kick trying to get the surprise out of the bottom of the cup (good thing) because it was such a quality (for price paid) toy. I really hope this spots stays same and owners don't change quality of their goods cos 100% worth it. read more

The tea was delicious. We order from Ume Tea a catering order for a Mother's Day event at work. They delivered a little late unfortunately, but still with enough time before the event started. They helped us get the boxes down and onto our cart. When we got the drinks upstairs, about 250 of them, everything was in great shape and all the boxes arrived in good condition. We ordered green tea, green tea with boba, milk tea with and without boba, sticky rice yogurt, and crème brûlée Thai tea. All of the drinks and yogurts were a hit and we only had a few left at the end. We even had people come back for seconds. I tried the black milk tea with taro and mochi. I loved the mochi and the flavor, but I was not a fan of the taro. I think it was just a personal taste issue. I took a passion fruit green tea with boba and lychee jelly home to my husband. I just moved to the area and was excited to see they had Ume Tea available. I placed my order online on Tuesday after work and it was ready before I arrived. I got a bunny surprise cup and the pull was so good -- full size cute teddy bear. I loved it! The drinks was good too. After reading other reviews, seems like it is a common occurrence here to wait over 30 minutes for your drinks. I saw more than 3 orders that were placed after mine, and they all got their orders first. Then when I finally got the text that my order was ready, I walk up to the counter to get my drinks and they tell me that they are starting to prepare it. Why would you send me a text that its ready when it's not? 5 minutes more pass and they still haven't started to prepare it because that's when I called them out on it and they panicked and started making my drinks. I don't know how they prioritize their orders, but this is bad customer service, and not good for repeat business. I've had a similar experience at another Ume location, but not ever up to 30 minutes wait. I can only deduce that this is a management issue. This is not worth my time. read more
