The service was excellent and very attentive. We came in with three adults and three kids. The staff was so kind and brought out a candy treat for the kids to pick after. Large sushi menu! I have been craving sushi! So when my son said he wanted some as well, I was super excited! Sushi date? Yes please! I love spending quality time with him! So we bonded over Sushi. This place came highly recommend by my favorite foodie, so I knew it would be high quality! I may have gone a tad overboard with now much I ordered but we were not disappointed. We ordered 8 shrimp, 8 crab, and 8 salmon. My son's favorite was the crab and mine was the shrimp. We started with Meso soup which was a first for my 16 year old. He loved it! The service was great and the place was clean. It was quite busy for lunch! We are already talking about what we will get when we come back. I've ordered out here a time or two, overall decent. The service is great, the workers I've met are very kind and efficient! The restaurant is smaller but I liked the decor. The sushi, however, is just decent. It's not bad in a pinch but I've defiantly had much much better. I also noticed almost every sushi had cucumber and/or cream cheese, personal preference but I'm not a huge fan of either if the sushi isn't super well made- they do let you take it out though which is great. Open until 9:45pm on a Saturday. It's located at the Cherry Creek corporate park. It's next to Starbucks. We ordered two house salads, lobster delight, crunchy california, no masago, fiesta, under the sea, no masago. Miso soup is complimentary. The house salad isn't too bad, dressing was alright, watery, not very gingery. The miso was decent. The sides of sriracha is $0.75 each, expensive for the small condiment. The fiesta is the best of the 4 rolls. It's a huge bite of a roll too. The crunchy california isn't special, no so crunchy at all. The under the sea is okay, nothing special either. The lobster delight could be better, it tastes like a burnt roll from the torch for sure. Service was good. Staff are all nice. Heidi was attentive. The manager also checked up on us as well. We both liked the fiesta roll the best out of the 4 rolls for sure. The total bill was $59.74 and the $1.50 for two small ramekins of sriracha listed. Kind of cheap to charge for sriracha when we don't use any soy sauce at all. That's why the tip is less when we get nickel and dimed for sides of sriracha. So many great things to choose from and the portions were large so we ended up with leftovers to bring home - which normally never happens with Sushi!! They have a nice dining room area and we felt safe during the COVID-19 situation. Employees all wore masks and guests must wear masks when walking around in the restaurant. It's small and cozy. I ordered this food on a Friday evening to be delivered to my mothers house on Saturday (as an early Mother's Day treat). I wish they were open on Sunday. I'm in Florida but I wanted her to be surprised! I asked the delivery driver to say, "Happy Mother's Day!" When they delivered the food. My mother said they did just that! Awesome! The food was predicted to be delivered between 5:30 and 5:50pm. It was about 10 minutes early! Awesome! My mother is on the keto diet so I asked for all of her food to be without rice! The chirachi order comes with rice (so I asked for no rice) and that's how it came. The masago came with cucumber underneath instead of rice! The unagi had rice underneath but my mom was able to take it off. No worries! She said all of the food was fresh and fish-smell-FREE! She was very surprised and enjoyed every bit of it! Great job! When I come to visit I'll definitely try this place out for myself! Thank you! Only complaint was that I paid $43.85 with tip+delivery fee. I have to start by saying that I am no sushi connoisseur and Umi Sushi is good but not great. I'd honestly give Umi 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4, rather than rounding down to 3, since the fish was fresh and service good. A lot of the their basic rolls had cucumber, and it just doesn't go with a salmon avocado or a spicy yellowtail scallion roll. Similarly one of their specialty rolls that my colleague ordered and I tried was topped with lots of shaved imitation crab meat and it just wasn't for me. Miso soup was A-oK. The sushi here is good - but the othet dishes we tried were not sarisfactory. We tried 2 different sushi roles (chef special and Umi sushi) - both were good. However, the noodle dishes my son and I tried were pretty aweful (yaki udon noodle - one with chicken and the other with beef). My other son tried beef hibachi. The main issue with the meat dishes was the fact that the meat was overcooked and too tough to chew (both chicken and beef). We tried the banana dessert at the end - we couldn't finish eating it (the batter had no flavor). Will be sticking to Sushi only, if I'm back here. You might think there's good sushi, but then there's Umi. Best sushi I have ever had, no contest... and I've had a lot of sushi. I was first introduced to Umi in 2012. They really shine in their take out experience and with dine-in. Small and cozy dining room which was recently remodeled. My absolute favorite is their crunchy California roll. It's simple but bold and their spicy mayo is the best I've had. The staff are so friendly here as well. The sushi chefs make all the sushi out in the open behind a sushi bar and are always smiling and greeting guests when they walk buy. You can't talk about Umi without mentioning their buy one get one free "sushi of the day." Each day of the week there is a new sushi of the day that if you purchase one you get the second free. I also recommend the cooked salmon pizza. Now with COVID limiting dine-in experiences I would highly recommend a stay in date night with Umi sushi. I came here because many reviews on Google showed positive reviews and experiences, and I wanted to try it. My first impression of this restaurant is its dining area was really extravagant. The almond wood finish and the icicle lighting were the two things that stood out most to me. The menu was also really helpful because it showed a photo of every sushi roll that was offered (I have not seen that before at a sushi restaurant). On the other hand, the sushi was a different story. My biggest issue is the sushi was loosely rolled. It was difficult to grab while using the chopsticks because many were falling apart. I was really looking forward to the lobster tempura roll, but it was a let down. The roll was overly covered with the lobster sweet sauce; it covered the flavor of the lobster, avocado, cucumber, and cream cheese that was in the sushi roll. I also ordered the Julian drum because one of the ingredients in it was sesame seeds. This was different and I had to try it. But I would have been better off not trying it because there was nothing really great about this sushi roll. Overall, I was not really satisfied with my experience here. It could be something like a new sushi chef was recently hired and still needed more training. But I am not sure and cannot sit here and speculate why the sushi I got was not up to par. Maybe if I go there again, I may have a better experience. read more

Such a cute little sushi restaurant. It's small, but comfortable. There's tables for two, four, and even a bar where you can watch the sushi chefs make your rolls. The tables are divided by bamboo (?) dividers. The overall aesthetic of the room is very Asian / Japanese specific. Even the tables and chairs. You are greeted as soon as you walk in with enthusiasm and happiness, especially if it seems you're a regular. With order of meal, you get miso soup. The soup is more on the mild side of flavour (less miso) but that's how I like mine. If you prefer yours a little stronger then it might not be to your liking. The women's restroom is cleanly and spacious. Not much to say besides it's not trashed and is even decorated appropriately and modestly. The food is set up and arranged nicely. Part of eating sushi is its appearance I think, and it's very appealing. Both rolls are delicious! You can taste each of the flavours and texture in the food in each bite and it's extremely satisfying. I think the only negative thing is the tv that's there when you first walk in, it feels very out of place. Maybe if it was playing an Asian station? Or just placed elsewhere, I feel it would be better. It has no impact otherwise. Maybe some ambient music instead of a tv playing. Oh, and when the door opens it gets suddenly bright inside, but that's also something that's easily overlooked and lacks relevance. I wish I lived by here so I could come back again. My buddy, my pal was a sniffling, congested, sinus headache mess so we decided to get some wasabi into her system and the best and truest way to do this is? Devouring sushi, and in this case some awesome sushi. Sushi is a delicate matter, if I do say so. Even the slightest deviation can be the difference from fantastic and mediocre sushi. Personally I am one of those who loves the extra saucy style and when you are a fan of this, there is a certain expectation to the flavors and spices. Too much mayo and you're doomed, too little mayo and you're doomed, under fry the tempura and you're doomed, over fry it and (you guessed it) you're doomed and so on and so forth for all eternity. Ordered my favorite (the Yum Yum) but decided to try something new. They have a daily special buy one get one and today's was an eel. I've always been too squeamish to try eel and octopus. Texture is a big deal for my dining enjoyment and I never imagined that those two textures would be appealing. Mark that WRONG box because deep-fried texture becomes irrelevant. Both were excellent. They were tempura style, the sauce was perfect and I couldn't eat them fast enough. We also ordered edamame, which was very standard, nothing special about it. It would have been nice if my dinner mate wasn't playing Candy Crush the entire meal, but the food was so good it didn't matter. So go ahead and bunch your chocolate squares, I'm having sushi!
