I was out this way scrapbooking at the store here in this complex and needed something to eat. I found this sushi place and decided to give it a try. Walking in, it has a very hip feel to it. Not a traditional menu of what I'm used to for sushi. The menus on the wall and prices seemed reasonable. Very limited selection. They also sell ramen here, but the kind that come in the buckets that I see at the grocery store? Weird, but ok. Anyway, I went with a sushi roll that was about $14, I can't remember which one. I also sprung for some Nigiri because I like it, and got a can of Dr. Pepper that I didn't really want or need, but hey, when you're hungry you do dumb things, right? Anyway, my bill was a whopping $25.88. OUCH. I was kind of surprised but considering my options and not wanting to leave the shopping complex, I paid for it anyway, sticker shock and all. There were two sushi chefs behind the counter and they threw in an extra Nigiri for me. It was delicious! Seatings limited here but there are tables and a TV with what I think was Kpop on it playing some cute music with videos. Anyway, the food itself was great, and I really did have a good meal here, just pricier than I thought. They do serve water here but I wish they had a bigger menu to choose from. read more

We have been wanting sushi so it was exciting to see that Goblin Sushi opened by us. We sat up at the bar area and enjoyed watching the sushi chefs work their magic. You can choose from a menu or order from the wall. You go to the counter and order and pay. They bring the food out to you. The sushi was reasonably priced. Walked in and was greeted very warmly by all who were working! It feels like a cafe, the decor is very unique. Very simple menu, and very easy to order. This is my second time coming here and both times I have been impressed with the great, quality sushi and nigiri. The fish is always so fresh and tasty. An absolute exquisite experience! Seriously any other sushi restaurants I've previously rated, knock them all down a star. Goblin is truly 5 stars. My wife laughed when we pulled up thinking I was pranking her by taking her to a sushi joint named The Goblin. She quickly apologized as we left in disbelief with what we just consumed. The menu simplistic and on the pricier side. After finishing eating I'd say it's well worth the value. We sat at the bar and it almost felt like Omakase (we ordered the Nigiri set) with the chef explaining ingredients, and in what order to eat. Chef even provided us a few extra surprises. Yes this is authentic! Yes it's real sushi rice and it's the star! Yes the fish is very fresh! Yes they use real wasabi! Yes they make their own in house soy sauce! Everything here was a big yes! When we left, we immediately made several phone calls to friends bragging about the experience and that we might be spoiled until we actually go to Japan. This place is absolutely fantastic! The best sushi I have ever had! Chef Joe knocks it out of the park! The staff is so friendly! The decor, and the ambiance is so cute, very Japanese. This is hands down the best sushi place I've been to in town. Every Tuesday night I go and sit at the bar. The chef always makes good conversation and even asks me to try new things that he is trying out and looking to add to the menu. This place is always quiet and gives a little feel to traditional South Korean restaurants. read more

I was craving sushi so I decided to visit the new Goblin location in Macomb and it was just as good as the Clinton Twp one I fell in love with! The ambiance, quality, and consistency are still superb. Chef Jo from the Clinton location and another sushi chef were working. Both were amazing and clearly knew what they were doing. The girl working at the front was so sweet and welcoming too! I ordered a spicy tuna roll, salmon belly roll, and tuna nigiri. All the rolls were so fresh and you can really taste the quality. I brought my mom in with me, she's really picky and normally doesn't eat fish at restaurants, and she loved the sushi here, she said it is "the best." I also ordered the matcha cheesecake to go, which is a must have when you stop in. It's so light and yummy! Goblin is still my favorite sushi restaurant, in fact the best in MI, and one of the few places I'll eat raw fish from in MI. If you want high quality and fresh sushi at a low price, stop in! This place is proof that not all sushi is created equal--some of it should never have been created at all. I came here thinking I found a hidden gem, but it turns out the only thing hidden was the quality. The fish tasted like it took a wrong turn out of a gas station freezer, and the rice was either soggy or rock hard, no in between. I get that it's cheap, but there's a difference between affordable and questionable. If you're into warm raw fish, limp seaweed, and regret, this is your spot. Otherwise, spend the extra few bucks somewhere that won't leave you praying you don't get food poisoning. Are these good reviews bots? read more

Talk about goblin cause you guys sure robbed me of my gold!!! Cheap ramen bowl are we serious guys I spent five FIVE DOLLARS on ramen thinking when i picked it up it would be and actual dish but instead what you gave me was a cheap store bought bowl of ramen. And dont get me started on the smell of the place. I walked in there and it was a repulsing smell of fish. Without a doubt the best sushi in town and the most fresh. The head Sushi Chef is the ultimate professional. He is very knowledgeable, kind, and customer service focused. Without a doubt the freshest sushi around. I have been eating sushi for 40 years and I have never written a positive review for a sushi restaurant until now. The young lady at the front (Nevaeh) is so kind and again customer focused. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays and this is disappointing and yet the reason for this is because the head Sushi chef is waiting to hire and train another chef who will represent his brand the way he has. Once you visit here you will understand why it is so important to maintain the quality of this establishment. We've been going to Goblin for many years but today was the last time we'll go. The rolls have become so small and they're expensive.. I don't know if they got new owners or what but I picked up a take out today and the rolls were the smallest rolled I've ever seen. I went to the Clinton Twp location 2 weeks ago and ordered a tuna bowl which had about a tablespoon of tuna on it. Too bad because it used to be good. read more

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat and we were wowed by the quality of food and amazing service. The chef gave us some complimentary nigiri to try and we were wowed by how soft the fish was and quality of the rice. It was delightful! The rolls were incredible and tasty. It was so fresh. I was born & raised in Macomb and graduated from Dakota High School. Since moving away, I've missed many things, but the sushi wasn't one of them. But this place is different. High quality sushi, affordable price, and great aesthetics. I LOVE the Korean vibes here. Reminds me of the sushi places I visited in Seoul. Sushi Chef Yosef was great to talk to--really sociable & knows a lot about the sushi craft. I had a chance to visit their Gratiot location as well, and I found them both to be of equal quality. Our new favorite sushi place! We have seen nothing but RAVE reviews for Goblin Sushi, and we knew we had to see for ourselves. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the extremely friendly hostess. The restaurant is bright, clean, and very sleek. Their menu is on the smaller side, which I appreciated. Showcasing about 20 rolls. I hate feeling overwhelmed every time I want to order sushi and have pages and pages to choose from. I knew right away with the smaller menu that we were going to be getting some amazing food. We chose the Goblin Caterpillar, Alaska Roll, Firecracker Roll, Dragon Roll, Shrimp Tempura, generous sides of Masago, Spicy Mayo and Pickled Ginger. Chef also gave us Pickled Wasabi to accompany our rolls. We enjoyed talking to Chef and truly feeling how passionate he is about his job. He was kind enough to have us try Tuna Nigiri & Salmon Belly Nigiri. While all their fish is impeccably fresh and delicious, the Koshihikari Sushi Rice was the true star of the night. All other "sushi rice" is ruined for me after tonight's experience. It was a pleasure getting to eat at this establishment, and we can not wait until our next visit. read more

They have a great dine in space and everything is easy to understand and order. We will definitely keep coming back. The Black Garlic Tonkatsu is THE BEST!

I ended up going with the tonkotsu ramen with extra pork and egg. In addition I always get a side of whatever spicy sauce is available to mix into my ramen. Overall it was really flavorful and I really liked it. I don't think I had anything to eat that day so I finished my entire bowl!

I used the same name but they brought out different dish, it was so bad and even we can not finish 1/3 of that dish. The waitress said: oh, I know what that is, its name is Special House. Im kinda mad but it is ok because I do not want to be bad person that night. A day later, I called and ordered Special House for my dad because I want him to try also, again, worse and worse and worse thing happened again. Different dish came with a crazy price. I asked them so what its name and you dont even show me the menu, the lady said: oh, it was in the menu and name is Sea food noodles. I told her my experience and she does not care.
