Friday midafternoon in Prescott was not the ideal time to run into vehicle problems. My first contact was with Paul S. of Classic Restorations and Sales. Paul went out of this way to assist a fellow classic car enthusiast and ultimately directed me to Keven at Nichols Autofab. What a great experience!! Keven went out of his way to make room for my classic vehicle when room in his shop was at a premium. Keven agreed to immediately attend to my needs and further agreed to ensure the vehicle was secured inside the business and not left outside. A trip that had been in the plans for almost a year was clearly in jeopardy. Between Paul and now Keven I was able to continue on with my plans to drive Rt.66 as a participate of the Rt. 66 fun run. Repairs were to the point. Fair in price and done by a very understanding and confident staff of personnel. As a member of a National Car Club, we are very cognizant of auto service centers that provide minimal services and at an inflated price when we are traveling while knowing we are at the mercy of unscrupulous mechanics. I cannot emphasize how the services at Nichols Autofab were so very much apricated and welcomed. An unfortunate incident did two things; brought me peace of mind for the service and repairs completed and the meeting of two great men that I will consider a friend that I will indeed continue to praise.

I had recently purchased this jeep and wanted it gone over to see what I could not see. They spent a good amount of time and when the inspection was over, Lee discussed all of the issues, Texted and Emailed me the results of the inspection which included videos which clearly described everything that should be looked at and replaced/repaired. I was given a very clear document which included costs for repairs. I was very pleased at the entire experience. Wynn S.

I find it hard to believe this place is still in business. Shows you how little competition is in…read morethis area. Not only one location, two price gouging fairly incompetent locations. Been to both multiple times. Their current hourly labor rate of $220 per hour, not for a mechanic, or a plumber, or an electrician, but a basic parts installer, is insane. I used to own a truck fabrication business and have installed well over 300 lift kits. I know the lack of mechanical knowledge that is needed to install a lift and most off-road accessories. I don't have my shop anymore so I went in pricing lift kits and installation pricing. First, they could not even match the price for a $5000 lift kit from ANY online retailer, even at the direct manufacturer MSRP. Then, they tell me they are going to charge me a 3% credit card fee on top of that. Why, no online retailers charge that fee. So, you're telling me you cannot sell me a lift kit for the same price I can order it from the Cognito website? Ok. Then I ask about installation. The Cognito instructions say installation takes 10-13 hours for the average mechanic. Not someone who does this regularly, an average mechanic. The Prescott Summit quoted me $2500 for installation and 2 days in the shop. That is a LOT of money for one guy working for 10-13 hours. Then they nickel and dime you for everything. Well, it gets worse. I then go to the Prescott Valley Summit. The price for the lift? Same price but now a 4% credit card fee. The labor for the 10-13 hour lift kit installation, $3700. $1200 difference, 10 miles away, same shop, same kit. Insane and infuriating. I would drive to Vegas for a tire change before I would go back to Summit. I ended up having a highly rated tire shop in Prescott Valley Install the lift. They were meticulous, did an amazing job. Called to ask me questions about how I wanted this or where I wanted that. $1500 out the door, alignment, everything. NEVER. EVER. Go to Summit 4x4. Ask around, I did. I could not find a single good review or happy person.

She insisted it needed to be lifted. I called around and Steve gave a decent price for install. That's about where it stopped. At first he seemed very helpful, but he does not stand behind his work and if he breaks something he won't tell you or blames others. Do yourself a favor spend a little extra money and go to someone else. The few hundred we saved at first cost us alot more in the end!! I upgraded my shocks from the rough country that came with my kit. He quoted me a $111 for front struts and around $90 for the shocks. He told me kit would take two days to install. On day 3 I call to see if it will be done, he says no. Upgraded struts ordered were the wrong one's. He says he's going to pick up the right ones today. He fails to mention that the new ones cost an extra $60 a piece and expects me to pay for there screw up. But stuff happens so I told him no big deal. Day 4 rolls around he tells me my truck is at Big O being aligned. I get a ride home from my job to wait almost 3 hours. I get truck home and after a few days truck is making noise. I hop underneath the truck to find both upper and lower ball joints are mangled. So I message him he says he must have been to the rough with them. I give him my Vin so he can look for replacement ball joints and a day later he messages back He says unfortunately your truck doesn't have replacement ball joints both upper and lower control arms need replaced. He tells me it is about $250 per arm plus install. He tells me he can do it for around $1400. I told him you screwed it up it's on you. He says now it was fine when it left his shop. Not like earlier when he said hehgot too tough with them. I contac big o they said they don't touch ball joints on alignments. They called him for me and he immediately called me back and said he would get it fixed. I message him after a week he says he found replacement boots for it. I said when can we get it fixed. We agree upon July 3rd. I message him July 2nd and ask what time he would like it dropped off. He ghosts me. My wife messages him and he says that he had other things being worked on and he couldn't do it that day. She tells him that is horrible customer service and he no longer speaks with her. The truck had less than 1200 miles on it when it was dropped off. It still had paper tags on it. It already needs upper and lower control arms replaced. Lamb quoted Around $1500 to have it fixed. He also removed all our comments from Facebook because he tried to look like he was trying to fix it. Once I sent messages of him not doing it he blocked our reviews.
