This was the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. Without a question. We were driving up to NorCal from SoCal and made a pit stop here since it was on the Yelp top 100 list. Oh boy, this place is so worthy of its ranking. We got there right at open (I believe it was 11) and the owner was SO friendly. Unfortunately, I tapped to pay and he informed me that he gets charged more for that - so just give him your card to swipe like a normal person!!! Anyways, the sandwich. Got the NY steak and man, it was AMAZING. The bread was perfectly crispy and crunchy on the outside. The steak was soft and tender but flavorful and bursting of juices. The sauces were just perfect. We shared a sandwich since it was pretty filling and it kept me full for quite a while! The owner also gave us a glass of his special Arnold Palmer on the house which was also delicious!! There's bathrooms (you have to ask for a key) that are upstairs and very clean. You'll need it because the sandwich juices will make your hands a mess. This was my first visit to Uncle Af's. They have been on many lists of places to try and was on yelp's top 100. And I definitely had to stop by and try some of their sandwiches. Their menu is pretty extensive so I just went with the spicy chicken sandwich. The gentleman that took my order was extremely kind and with it being towards the end of the lunch rush we struck up a conversation. I asked which of his sandwiches was the most popular and you said they're all really good so that didn't necessarily help lol. After getting my food, I definitely see and understand why he meant. I will have to try some of the other sandwiches they have. It was amazing and the fries were seasoned extremely well and had a right amount of crunch and bite to it. I can also see why this place is so beloved and if I could give more stars to this rating I definitely would. I can't wait to come back again! There's a big parking lot out here at the restaurant but I'm not sure if it's just because the time I went it was pretty busy and there's a lot of cars coming in and out. Stopped in here on a Sunday for a to-go lunch. I'd been wanting to try for a while and now was my chance. The lady who served me was super nice and helped me make my decision when I had questions about the menu. My boyfriend does not like spicy. I do. She helped me find something to make us both happy and we were pleased with the portion sizes. One sandwich is definitely enough for two people. Decided to visit after seeing online. Went on a random Wednesday evening with a couple of friends. We were greeted by a nice young man who stated that it is his families business. The menu was a bit difficult to order on as everything is quite a small font with the description underneath. Nevertheless, we ordered 3 sandwiches with fries and onion rings. The sandwich's were delicious, however, had an overwhelming amount of flavor; it takes away from the sandwich. The onion rings and fries were phenomenal with just the right amount of crunch. Paired with their firecracker sauce and garlic aioli, and plated in a family tray, it was the kicker for 4 stars. Parking wasn't terrible as it is in a shopping center but the restaurant is fairly small with an immense decor style on the inside. it could definitely be less (funny considering their niche is international sandwich's) All in all it's definitely worth 4 stars and worth the try! read more

I got their Sydney panini. Roasted Lamb, home made vegan pesto (with walnuts) Avocado , Provolone, Caramelized Onions and Mushroom, raw onions, tomatoes, Basil, Arugula. The ciabatta is nice and crispy and should be eaten at the restaurant to be the freshest. The ingredients are all fresh. There was so much food that I had to take some of it home. I also got a side of onion rings which were also very good, nice and crispy as well. The owner is very nice. It is a very small restaurant with a couple tables outside. We noticed that most of the orders were take-out, but I would recommend eating it at the restaurant so that you have the benefit of eating the ciabatta fresh. One of my all time favorite things to do when traveling is to try restaurants of the local variety. Chain restaurants I can get at home. So when my wife and I were on our way to visit our daughter in Agoura Hills and some time to kill, we decided to find a local sandwich shop for an early lunch. Uncle Af's has A LOT of great reviews, so we figured let's give them a shot...after all, if there's one thing I know, it's a good sandwich. As soon as we walked in, we were instantly greeted by a very friendly woman, presumably the owner or owner's wife. The whole ambience was casual, comfortable, and upbeat friendly with positive vibes all around. Being our first time there, she was more than happy to go over the menu with us, and with so many delicious looking choices it really did take me some time to narrow down what I would try. My wife chose the Spicy Chicken Burrata. We would have split this, it certainly was large enough, but sometimes "spicey" doesn't settle so well with me, and being on the road...I wasn't about to take any chances. So I opted for the Vegetarian Sandwich. Now I'm not a vegetarian by any means (I always feel I should point that out if I'm ordering vegetarian or even a vegan meal), but I do enjoy the culinary delight of a veggie meal every so often. Personally, I think if one can make a great tasting veggie sandwich (where you don't even miss the meat), then they are probably an outstanding sandwich maker. Well, I have to say, she is an outstanding sandwich maker! Truly a great veggie sandwich it was. It too was easily large enough for two people, but I couldn't help myself and went ahead and finished it off anyways. My wife ate only half of her sandwich (like I said, they're big), so I got to enjoy the other half later. It too was amazing, and it was not too spicy (not to where it would have been a problem for me at least). We also split a large order of fries, which was honestly too much food, but good nonetheless. What made the fries especially good was their ranch dressing...I'm not sure if it was home made or some artisan brand, but it was so much better than most ranch dressings I've had (aside from my grandmother-in-law, who was famous for her homemade buttermilk ranch).
