Walking in, I was amazed at how stunning this venue is. It's a sports bar with the tvs but the decor and vibe doesn't make it look like your typical sports bar. This venue makes you want to act proper. And acting proper would be so hard during football season. It's too pretty to be acting rowdy. We sat by the cool flameless fireplace/pit. A sweet gal came and grabbed our drink order. While drinks were being prepared, we checked out the menu. It's a smaller menu but they have a little bit of everything. I got the Giggy burger, bunless with an extra patty. My husband got the finger steaks with fries. Our food came out and we were both ready to eat. My burger looked good. The cheese was nice and melty on top. I got a side of mixed veggies as my side. My husband's plate had a lot of fries. The finger steaks were fried golden. His plate looked tasty. My burger patties were supposed to be a quarter pound a piece. Honestly, they were thin and tiny. The patties weren't seasoned and were overly dry. The mixed veggies were just steamed broccoli and carrots. I'm sure the carrots are the same carrots used as a side for buffalo wings. And just like the patties, the veggies weren't seasoned as well. My husband's fries were good. You can tell they weren't house cut fries. The finger steaks were seasoned nicely. But the pieces were tiny and the steak was dry. I can see why 80% of the plate was fries. You aren't going to get full off the finger steaks. This venue is so pretty but the food doesn't match the venue. Our meal was sub par. Disappointing cause you'd think that food coming out of this kitchen would be killer. The service was great. The gal that served us today did a good job. I'm happy we got to check this joint out today. It's been on my to go list for a hot minute. Kinda bummed that the food missed the mark today.

Our waitress was friendly and attentive, offering drinks several times even though we weren't in the mood. We ordered a fried chicken sandwich for my wife and the three street tacos for me. Her sandwich was tasty, and my tacos were okay, though the chicken was a bit dry. My dinner salad was standard. I did ask for pepper, but it never arrived. Is is something they could keep in mind, as they (and like many places) don't provide salt and pepper on the tables. Service was polite, though plate clearing and follow-ups felt a bit minimal. It gave the impression that this is a spot geared more toward grabbing a beer and some bar food rather than a full dinner experience. Overall, Giggy D's is a good choice for a casual bite and watching a game. Just manage your expectations as it's far from a gourmet spot, but it delivers on friendly atmosphere and classic bar food. If you're looking for something similar, Rudy's or Brixx might be comparable or slightly better options.

For some reason, we were seated in a corner booth near the bathrooms, while other customers were seated elsewhere in the restaurant. We didn't mind, however, because it was nice and quiet. And, for me, convenient. My wife had the Sirloin Salad, and I had the Ahi Poke Salad. My wife said that her meat was cooked the way she likes it, and the rest of the ingredients were delicious. For me, the ahi, sesame vinaigrette dressing, wonton strips, onions, and greens were very good. The food is always good at The Tavern. And, the prices are reasonable. Unlike our past experiences, the service this time around was not up to our usual. Our server, Hannah C., seemed in a rush and impatient. Though she told us to ask her if we had questions, I didn't find her responses to be pleasant. The first dish my wife was interested in had Boursin cheese. My wife had not heard of it, and she cannot eat a lot of cheese. She preferred something milder, like mozarella. When she inquired of Hannah, the reply was terse. "We don't have mozarella." "Do you have another milder cheese?" "Like what?" Not in a nice way, and not professional, in my opinion. And, she was loud. We waited longer than usual for our food, and when Hannah brought it, she just dropped the plates and split. To her credit, she did check in on us once during our meal. Now I don't know what kind of day Hannah was having. Maybe not so good. I don't know what kind of person she is, and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she is a nice woman. Hopefully she is not like how she was with us to all of her customers. I'm a 20% tipper. For her, it was 18%. I wasn't given a choice, but I would have gone down to 15%.

Incredible steakhouse hidden in downtown Meridian, Idaho…read more Our son and daughter in law were in town for a visit and we decided to brave a place new to us. We were not disappointed. The steaks were delicious and well cooked. I was a little disappointed in my steak that was supposed to be served with a crab and hollandaise sauce. The chef forgot the hollandaise sauce with the authentic crab so when we pointed that out they gave us a cold side of hollandaise. Otherwise- appetizers were incredible and our whole party enjoyed their entrees. Too bad that the portion sizes were so filling because none of us had any space left for the mouthwatering desserts! We will definitely be back and hope that they can redeem themselves for the hollandaise/crab topping issue.

The fries were perfectly seasoned, slightly battered and the fry sauce was a great compliment. Everyone finished their meals and raved about how much they liked their burgers. Due to the one server taking care of so many tables, we didn't see her again until it was time for the check. Thankfully the water glasses were enormous and I luckily made it through dinner with just enough to drink. We would definitely visit again to check out all the great options on this menu!

Apparently that's harder to find in the Treasure Valley than good beer. Then we found this gem. The Last Call was playing, and they were fantastic. In fact, if I ever get frustrated enough to open my own brewery just to show the Treasure Valley what it's been missing, they're getting the first call. They'd be the anchor band. Great atmosphere, great beer, and--best of all--live music. We'll definitely be back.
