    Regular cheese pie ($15)
    Heidi M.

How has it taken me this long to try out the pizza here? I've really been missing out and think I've found my new go-to spot. The ingredients seem higher-quality than your typical no-frills pizzerias, while still charging very fair prices. $2.75/regular slice and $15/pie. They are a teeny bit smaller in size, but still so worth it. We got a regular pie ($15) and a Hawaiian pie ($21) -- I was a little hesitant about the latter but it was so freakin good. The prosciutto tasted perfectly smoky and - despite the controversy - the sweet/sourness of the pineapples balanced everything out so well. If they can make a good Hawaiian pie, I'm sure you can't go wrong with ANY of their signature pizzas. Only thing I'd say is that the crust was too burnt in some areas - we usually like to devour everything, but had to discard the burnt edges this time around. Other than that, I'm already so excited to return to try the others. The basket of garlic knots ($6 for 12) were also top notch. They were sooo warm and soft. And affordable, what a deal. I also have to give a shoutout to the great customer service. My mom left her credit card in the restaurant after paying and they called her twice (mom thought it was a spam call) to let her know! They kept it safe for her all day until we picked it up, and we're so grateful.

Of all the local pizza options, this one is the best. But. Delivery is a disaster. Half the time it's cold, it's like we just cross our fingers and hope we get hot pizza this time. But tonight, for the second time in a row ordering from here, we just got handed a pizza box upside down, and when we got it inside the whole thing was smushed into the corner of the box and had clearly been dropped while it was still hot, picked up, put in the carrier and all the cheese and toppings slid off the bread onto the inside of the box. I understand when something happens. I do. But the restaurant is unreachable, which is exactly what happened last time a couple months ago. So rather than being able to make it right and send us a fresh pizza, the only thing I could do was get a refund from Grubhub. I would rather have had a pizza. If they'd pick up their phone, I probably would have had a conversation with someone who was sincerely sorry and would send another. But the phone was busy busy busy and then it rang the fourth time, I let it ring for a whole minute before hanging up because I figured in a busy restaurant you sometimes have your hands full and can't get to it right away. Or you drop a pizza. Once is an accident. Twice means somebody is careless. Someone dropped the pizza and then made the decision to deliver it to us anyway. Call me, tell me the pizza dropped and you're making a fresh one. Or if it was the delivery guy, like call your boss, dude. Don't drop my pizza hand it to me and walk off. The pizza selection in this neighborhood is dismal for Brooklyn. This one tastes the best. But if you can't go get it yourself, it's anyones guess whether you'll receive delicious, hot pizza or a mess you paid a lot of money to wait for and not get to eat.

    Vegan pie from Uncle Frankies!
    Michael H.

Another great experience at this place! The vegan pie is really great, fresh veggies (basil too!) with vegan cheese, great tomato sauce and outstanding crust! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly in a "no-frills but we got you" kind of way. The vegan cheese is Daiya, which isn't my favorite but it totally works and I love the fact that the owner seems really committed to making sure they have solid vegan options. Great place!

Uncle Frankie!!!!~~~ I wanna shout that one day when I visit the place, this place is my local favorite and I started ordering when Covid hit. One day I'll get around to taking the whole family there. I've been trying all their pies and sides and they are all fantastic! Delivery is on point and very quick! The garlic nots are to die for, they go before I can take photos. I'll keep ordering and hope like many other business they make it through these rough times so these family's, jobs, recipes and traditions don't get lost.

    Mozzarella Sticks

I've ordered here before but the quality of the food I received was terrible. If this is what you mozzarella sticks, I'm better off at Applebees.

Thank you Frankie's for serving great food delivering on time in the midst of this NYC pause. I had the family special calzone with meatballs. When the order came I thought it was incorrect and called the restaurant. The person I spoke to was helpful calm and gracious in helping me ensure I was sure the order was correct. Indeed it was. Too bad I cannot visit this place in person to have a meal. Check them out!

    Subpar cheesecake for $7
    Michael M.

This was my first time ordering from this place, and it will be my last. The cheesecake was $7 for a small, subpar slice. The crust on the pizza was burnt. They forget to give me sauce for the garlic knots. The delivery driver called me three times to get my address, and then still needed me to text it (I only live 4 blocks away). All this on a Tuesday night. Can't imagine how much worse it would be on a busy weekend.

This is how my 40$ pizza arrived Total mess

Pizza was delivered was a total mess. Paid over $40 for this delivery, very disappointed!!!

They burn the pizza too many times. The bread on the pizza was black. We don't go there any more.

Delicious pizza, but a little stingy with the toppings for the price you pay. Something might have changed in the kitchen.

Would recommend not sitting directly in the aisle in front of the door if it can be helped as it's a major traffic area. We started with bread and za'atar, ended up getting the shawarma pizza and wings. So much food that we had to take the majority of the pizza home. Everything was so flavorful, cannot wait to come back.

Arrived early for dinner and stood at the door for a while with no acknowledgment. There were only a few customers so not very busy. I eventually walked to the back and asked a server if I'm supposed to seat myself. I was finally seated and then another wait. Almost felt ignored... A server finally came by to ask my order but since it was my first time I asked for suggestions. I settled on the vegan platter ($24) so I could try a variety of items. I also got the Labne and Shay Ma Na Na ($8) (mint tea).. They also provide a complimentary pita, olives, and zaatar. The platter is large enough to share between two. The dawali (grape leaves) lacked flavor, thin in size, and not much rice inside. Typically they have a nice tang to them and have more rice filling. There is a salad of just greens and large onion rings. I'd suggest using the olive oil as dressing. Falafel and dip was basic. The labne felt like something was missing, maybe needed more salt/zaatar or lemon. The tea was decent but the traditional pot it comes in leaks. I mentioned this and was told yea it does. I was given paper napkins. The traditional pot looks cool, but leaves wet drops of tea every time you try to pour in a cup. I'd suggest something else to avoid a wet table. My table was also wobbling. While the server tried to add paper to even it out, it still wobbled. Ended up moving to another table. There is a restroom downstairs. No elevator. Overall, loved the artwork and look of the place, but the food and service could be better. Perhaps I'll return to try the desserts someday.

Israeli style with pickles, which I love. The chickpea soup was a standout. So flavorful and nourishing; definitely a nod to the sopa de garbanzos that I grew up with. The generous portion of labane is rich and complimented by herbs and an excellent olive oil. But it only comes with one pita! Personally, I'd prefer a smaller portion with more bread. Ok, first, let's be accurate about a few things. Etymologically, "batata" comes from the Spanish for "potato." This is a nod to "Sephardic" Jews, from the Hebrew word for the Iberian Peninsula (by definition, Spain and Portugal; after "expulsion," this came to include a diaspora more broadly northern African. In order words, western and southern European, not Eastern like Ashkenazi Jews.)

The eggs were cooked to perfection, the tuna was fresh and generous, and the coffee was so good I got another one to take with us on our walk through the park. Usually the vibe is this: bright, airy, cafe featuring breakfast plates, many of them vaguely Mediterranean, with continuous additions made to the menu announced via large sign print outs taped up all over the walls and windows of the space. While he's tested out a burger spot, an ice cream concept, his most successful business has to be Cafe Madeline, directly next door to this here Atelier December. With Atelier December, and with Victorian Cafe over on Coney Island Ave and Cortelyou, he's pretty much replicated this formula with much success, as it was packed on the Monday afternoon I visited. Unique to this menu are the pancakes, which come in the flavors pistachio, hazelnut praline, lemon zest, and coconut. I opted for the coconut and it was the best thing on my table. The turmeric fried eggs plate I got sounded promising but was decidedly mediocre and way way oversalted. The cardamom latte was delicious. So some hits and one miss, but overall a solid cafe to get some work done, catch up with a friend, or to take yourself on a solo brunch date to.
